Reviews for A Kindness |

![]() ![]() I've re-read this story around 5 times now... it's quick and short and yet it covers so much. explains so much of each of their characters. the way you write shuuichi's character is incredible and it is absolutely my favourite characterisation of him because it's in character and just like him but also more. you build on something that's already there but not in a way that ruins the character. you just put words to the things that are hidden in between the lines when it comes to his character. thank you so much for writing this, it's a great love of mine |
![]() ![]() I love this especially how you wrote Natori and his perspective :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() love |
![]() ![]() fun surprises, simple read, I liked it |
![]() ![]() This is a really nice fic! Will there be more? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow. I really loved this one. we never really know what Natori is thinking iether in the books or in the anime, and I think this one story explains it pretty well. well written too! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love it. Sometimes, I daydream about Natori and Natsume being brothers too, however it never goes far. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a brilliant observational piece on Natori and how he tries to understand Natsume, and come to terms with his conflicting opinions. Youj're such an ijnciteful writer, I hope you'll consider writing a multi-chaptered story based on Natsume's Book of Friends. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Midorikawa has planned for the eventual outcome for her story, and hope that what Natori fears most for Takashi doesn't happen! Takashi's been through enough in his life, he deserves some happiness. |
![]() ![]() ![]() if you stop to think about it, even though the book of friends is dangerous and if Natorior Matoba got it it would probably kill them, it's not dangerous for Natusme, the most powerful yokais are at his side ad he knows theirs names and aparences so even if them betrayed him Natsume could still control them, what puts Natsume's life in danger is his kindness, but even this has more possitive points than negatives, because he's so kind there is so much yokais and even gods that would stay by his side without asking for anything in exchange. If Natsume's going to die before reaching adulthood it probably won't be killed by an ayakashi. I don't think Natori has such bad personality, not that his personality is truthfully good and kind, for me Natori is more like Madara, both of them don't have really good personalities but end up being drag around by Natsume. That was nice to rea, really liked it, made me think. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is beautiful. It so perfectly captures Natori in a way that I have not seen anywhere. The part of him that can be good, but is also so terribly, terribly cruel. Yet that cruelty, as you point out, is also strongly rooted in kindness. Natori's fear that Natsume may end up dying for his kindness is something I think we all feel to a certain extent (but we hope won't happen because he's the main character). That you managed to define that fear and for a moment actually made me terrified for this very real possibly demonstrates your amazing writing ability. Also: "...Natsume will sacrifice himself equally for his close friends, casual acquaintances, youkai, and even his enemies." This is so very true. And Natori is so very, very puzzled. If Natsume were a side character, he'd be one of those who would be too good for this world to live, and die immediately. How lucky for us that he is the main character. I hope I see more of your writing in the future, because I would love to see the same kind of insightfulness into the characters you displayed here in a plot-driven story. Please consider it? |
