I love this so much

It's been years and years and years – I probably read this for the first time at some point between eleven and twelve – yet I always come back to it... I love the title (fellow Camera Obscura lover here) and especially this line: never would she have wondered if the way he kissed her would've felt anything like relief, or like the books she'd read as a child. I also love the bit about pitying that version of her that didn't know what it was like to love him. Now that I've loved I understand.

This is simultaneously the sweetest and the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever read. The way you described Hermione and Draco — always in some sort of a constant tussle — was beautiful beyond recognition. I didn’t know so much meaning could be packed inside a bite-sized fic, but clearly I was wrong.

I read this for the first time 7 years ago and I still revisit this oneshot regularly because there's such beautiful writing here. I still think about that scene on the bench. Every time I'm driving on an empty road, I remember the line "A road with no one on it. Beautiful, but not what it was made for."
