Another good, well-written story.
It makes better sense now how Merry and Frodo feel when they look out at the sea and/or the river Brandywine. There was also a nice parallel between Frodo and Merry within this vignette.
Good work, as usual. Once again, another story goes into my community, 'A Hobbit's Comeback'.

| seafarer chapter 1 . 10/5/2013
Another heartbreaking one, as it should be, but still. Oh, that hurts.
| Frodo's sister chapter 1 . 10/4/2013
Very good Frodo and Merry story. I like how you described Merry's thoughts and I am glad it is not slash.

Oh, this was so very touching! You put me right into the hearts of Merry and Frodo, so much so, that I could weep! (My first time reviewing your lovely and loving hobbity writings, though I have read alot of it on SOA. So, at last I may designate you one of my favorite authors! ) Thanks!

| Westel chapter 1 . 10/3/2013
"It was not only the Brandywine that distressed him, but all the Shire, a memory of what he could no longer appreciate."
"I know that for me, the sight of the sea will always do to me what the sight of the Brandywine did to him."
