|Reviews for Aftermath|
| SChimes chapter 1 . 12/6/2013
Okay, I have no idea how I missed this story before (!) - or maybe I read it at some point and didn't review it (BAD!), because I swear it sounds so familiar, but at the same time all your stories have a familiar feel about them because they feel like scenes from the actual show :P. So I don't know! But either way I'm happy I found it because it's great!
Now that we know the resolution to Poster Boy, can I just say how this could so plausibly have happened between then and when the new episode picked up? Also - he DID have to see the 'dumb psychiatrist'! And the scene in the car (oh Rusty...), and the scene where she's making a 'deal' with him (I swear, each time they make one of their 'deals' on the show it instantly goes to my top-ten-favorite moments because those scenes are always so heartbreaking but wonderful...), and the HUG. I'm all about Rusty/Sharon hugs these days :D.
In short, awesome story.

The review from Guest hit it right on the head. I completely believed that this was Sharon and Rusty and could see each scene in my mind as I read it. Brava!

Straight to my feels, this one. You kept it well in character and I could see this happening behind the scenes.
I love the way they both clearly love each other, but due to Rusty's past, both hesitate to express it directly. And a hug initiated by Rusty is one my favorite things in fics these days.

I absolutely loved this! This was so sweet and it brought tears to my eyes. Can't wait for the multi-chaptered story!

This... WOW... I don't even know if I can properly word a good review to this that conveys just how AMAZING this fic is, and how IMPRESSED I was when I read it. It's basically... the sort of thing where, if canon makes this obsolete, I will probably reject canon and cling to this instead. Being a procedural show, I'm not even expecting to get even a TENTH of this character interaction and characterization from the show when it returns from where it left us, but you've taken everything we know of these characters and what they've been through so far (especially Rusty and his teenaged-ness, which is sometimes so easily lost sight of amidst everything else) - and basically worked it absolutely BEAUTIFULLY into this fic, into this addendum to the episode. Their voices are so wholly realized and complete and CLEAR here, that I could just see this all happening like an actual part of the episode.
I also LOVED how you handle Rusty's diverging experiences and longings - for the home and stability Sharon has provided him and the love and want for his own mother, because she's his MOTHER for better or worst, and maybe, at this point, he's no longer ready just run into her arms and leave everything behind (he's s so very grown-up and mature and adult in his realization of this that it actually literally BREAKS MY HEART), that he could just go back to her without doing a bit of forgiving first. And it's especially amazing that those scenes where the tension was so high it almost broke ME as the reader were the epitome, to me, of what makes the Sharon and Rusty relationship and interaction WORK SO WELL... because there's previous experiences for both of them, and there's a certain sense of understanding - of knowing that there are plenty of gaps and distances between the two of them that canNOT be easily bridged (and to make it easy would be a disservice as to exactly how COMPLEX their actual relationship is).
Anyway, I think I'm beginning to stop making actual sense. (_)" I just wanted to let you know. I LOVE THIS FIC.
