You mention the blood a lot along with the fact that the zombie virus is being treated as a pandemic. You'd think Ranma would be a bit more wary of getting blood in his eyes.

I know this is one of your older stories, but the trend has continued. Why is it that in all of your stories, you have the characters who participate in lemon content go out of their way to state that backdoor stuff is taboo and gross and icky? If you don't want to include that, just don't write it. It's weird how consistently you have your characters do that. Truly it's a minor concern - I've loved your writing for a long time, and the above is far from enough to change that opinion - but it's always struck me as odd.

Given the spread of the virus simultaneously around the world, those who were behind this and who benefit from it may soon appear. Otherwise, an instant global fall by a virus with a short incubation period does not make sense.

do not completely abandon this fic, is my advice. tone down the sex? absolutely. as for the zombies? if Resident evil has taught us anything, its that this is only the first wave. zombie viruses, in any media, tend to be highly mutagenic. and thus it is only a matter of time before we start to see new strains of zombies, with abilities outside the norm.

now i am not suggesting a full on Resident evil approach to the zombies, as most of those mutations were deliberate and man made as bio weapons.

no, i am suggesting adaptation. over time the basic zombie model will no longer be sufficient, and will thus become outmoded. so the virus will likely promote mutation to occur. meaning we will see faster, stronger, tougher, and even SMARTER zombies start to occur.

i think they will always fear the water. but i would not be surprised if flying variants eventually crop up.

think of it as Necrotic Evolution. maybe flying zombies are out of the question. but as we see in many zombie themed stories, movies, shows, games etc. once the threat of the undead becomes a normal part of life, and one that can be dealt with? normal human problems begin to re-emerge.

struggle for resources, defensible terrain, population control, ego, etc. basically once the novelty of the zombies wears off and people begin adapting? society shifts into a frontier type setting. a kind of post apocalyptic old west. or even the feudal era.

towns will crop up, warlords will crop up, society will re-establish itself, in a new form sure, but it WILL occur.

Ranma and the others will be able to keep mostly out of things for a few years maybe, allowing their community to form. but eventually word will get out about their island. and people will want to claim that territory for themselves. either as an exploitable protectorate, like a mafia protection racket, or simply so that THEIR people can have the territory.

either way, the zombie issue is not going away, and ranma's group is not as removed as you might think. and eventually frontier politics will rear their head, and ranma will need to answer.

you haven't written yourself into nearly as narrow a corner as you think. there are MANY directions the story can still take.

the biggest issue in front of you, is that Highschool of the Dead is an abandoned series that will never finish. mainly because the author is dead, or so i heard. the artist is still alive, but the actual author who created the series and wrote the plot? he died i think. meaning this is an abandoned anime. and thus after a certain point? there is no canon material with which to base your fic upon.

so from here, you want to look for a new series to base your plot on. do you want to go with a Walking Dead type plotline (please dont, i hated that show.) do you want to go with a resident evil type plotline? with corporations and zombie bioweapons? maybe something like Deadspace? where the zombies begin to conglomerate into a massive monstrous moon... yeah that sounded better in my head.

maybe the Evil Dead? where the undead are the result of an elder god trying to manifest into this reality.

there are numerous potential angles you can progress the story down. you simply need to find the plotline that best suits the fic in its current form, and whose plotline you can comfortably see the story in its current form following.

just some food for thought.

Just started reading ... so a zombie plague?

The wiki I found was tiny, less than 150 pages.

Several things go into making Ranma authentic, the curse is one but it can be changed or even cured but it is not neeeded.

A training trip of some sort in some "ART" but it can be magic instead of martial.

Ranma has to deal with multiple females, but they do not all have to be in his bed.
Little sister type, just a friend(who may not like men), mothers sister, the list goes on...

Ranma must be honorable, protective of those who need it, and never give up!

There are other traits but these are the most important.

An uncursed Ranma is very rare, I will keep reading to see how you manage it.
