That was such a great story! Great job! :)

This was such an adventure to read! I couldn't put it down. I'm a little sleep deprived now, but so satisfied. This made me sob. Gosh. I did ugly crying during this story. Just, everyone's characterizations! Bullock was great. You did a good job with him. He cares in a gruff way. At the end, when he shot Justin's corpse to take the blame. It showed quite a bit of his character. I think his approval of Justin being dead might have helped Tim, besides the obvious part of Bullock taking the fall. Montoya was great, too. She rushed in to try and save Robin in the beginning; she risked her life for that kid. Gordon was so three dimensional - he's such a good guy, but you made him more than that. His grief was potent, and his need to work, so he could help people and drown some of that pain. And he didn't take any crap. He MADE Tim take care of himself, he parented him when he really needed it, and he took in Annika (I love that child). When he punched Tim in the face when he found out about Barbara, and Tim's reaction to that was perfect BTW, he apologized afterward, even though it seemed like he was aware that didn't really make up for it. And Tim. Poor Tim. He tried so, so hard. You did a good job showing the stress of living a double life, the stress of everything. I felt stressed out. Everyone's emotions were so real, all of the grief. Even Annika's, who was such a realistic child, in her dialogue and how she dealt with her parents' murder. I loved Tim reading Dick's diary from when he was a kid. And how amnesia!Bruce talked to Tim. And when Bruce told Tim he'd been a good soldier, and then they'd held each other and cried, which, you know, reading it like that it seems OOC, but it wasn't. Bruce was dealing with more than anyone could be expected to, same with Tim. That last sentence, "And Tim kept smiling." was the perfect ending. Just. All of this. I enjoyed reading it so much. Just one more thing before I'm done ranting: I was totally suspicious of Justin, and I am overly proud of myself for calling it! He was a good villain.

This story has some of the best character development I've read. It moved me beyond words. Though the writing itself wasn't perfect, you managed to convey such raw emotion in every thought and interaction- I really am speechless. I'm probably just as sad reading the ending as you were finishing it, because I'm done. And I want more. XD I read it all in one day, and it vexes me so.

Either way, this truly was a brilliant work. I know I won't be able to sleep tonight, because I'll be thinking about this darn story. UGH. Every time I read something great... But that's how I know something was great, at least to me.

I don't revieuw very often, but I just had to compliment you on this story, even if it's been two years since you finished it.

The beginning wasn't perfect, but you made the end quite emotional, and it made up for it. You were able to get inside Tim, and to let the reader feel what he felt. The last scene was really sad, but it was a beautiful story.

(So maybe it's late, and I was a bit tired when I finished reading, and it influenced my feelings, but it really think it was a beautiful ending.)

What a journey! The pain, the struggle, the drama, the angst, wow... You should do more. Keep up the good work!

I admire the dedication you've shown in completing this bad boy. An excellent idea, though I'm rather surprised that Barbara and Alfred were the ones killed off in the beginning...I would have expected Dick and Bruce to be closer to the action.
