Levi being Jewish is very important to me as someone who says "oy gevult" more often than "goddammit." This was wonderful, I adored all the references.

Wow... This is very interesting... *continues to gape*
| The runt Duchess chapter 1 . 1/18/2014
oh omg, I'm so sorry if I've offended you with my previous language. I have a friend who's Jewish, and he's always upset whenever I curse, so I hardly do it around him, but I didn't know, honestly. I'm so sorry.
This story is still awesome. It's also kind of like that today, isn't it? Hardly anyone bothers to learn- really learn and *understand* history, much less religious history. I'm Catholic (...er, yes, even still, I do have a slight cursing problem. I'm working on that...) and I learned our history at my mother's knee as I grew up, but even still, sometimes I'll make a reference to something from that to my friends who I know are Catholic as well, and no one will get what I'm talking about, so that's kinda sad. I feel really sad for Levi here, and how alone he must feel- just as he finds 'another'- Ella- he loses her. She dies in peace, knowing there are more, but *he* doesn't know how to go about finding more.
Argh. Getting depressed here, so I'll stop while I'm ahead. Great job here.

There's another fic where Levi is Jewish, and I love that fandom (and you) have made the SNK world that much richer. Thank you so much for this fic.

This was really interesting and beautifully written!
| Petula Petunia chapter 1 . 11/13/2013
I really liked it! It was pretty interesting and the notes were educational. And finally someone made a fic portraying Levi as a character and not as a plot device for a romantic story or porn, thank you for that.
And his rebuilt background was interesting too: I read fics where he is an orphan, but Levi having a family, as you wrote it, makes sense too.
Is funny that so many people goes with "Rivaille" on a whim, and prefer made stories about some french cliché. I like more Levi's official name, along with his "no-lastname" and his birthday (december 25th), I think his character hides meaning, not neceesarily related to the plot but still, just remembering that the two strongest humans alive are a manlet and a woman, and that those traits do not run their lives is interesting.
I do not know about Judaism but I think it was a great reflection about Levi. By the way, Isayama took his name from the documentary Jesus Camp.
Thank you for sharing your fic.
