![]() ![]() ![]() It's been 2 years since you've updated this story. Are you ever coming back because This story is really good |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love to see more BB |
![]() ![]() ![]() unsc weapons are more powerfull than you write here |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh what a cliffhanger to be left on. Hoping for an update eventually, please. |
![]() ![]() Finally found the time to catch up on the last few chapters, and I find it sleeping for a year on such a massive cliffhanger. I hope you get back to this soon. |
![]() ![]() Really enjoying the story. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to the next update. Either it be about irl or the next chapter Plus I’m a huge sucker of Master Chief being protective of Cortana fics. It’s one of the many things keeping me sane of what 343 has done so far ;;;;; |
![]() ![]() That freighter wouldn't happen to be a Firefly class would it? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really hope you find the inspiration to continue this! It is the best Halo x ME crossover I have read thus far! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Omni-tools do not use hardlight, they use a thin film of molten metal suspended in pre-programmed shapes by mass effect fields; I don't remember if the codex mentioned what metal exactly was used, but presumably it had a low enough melting point such that the heat was not overly uncomfortable. As far as I can tell the same is true for most interactable 'holograms' in Mass Effect, though that is definitely up for debate. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You're really underselling UNSC weaponry. While true that during the Insurrection they were unable to penetrate shields, once the Covenant war started the UNSC rolled out new upgraded versions that could do so, since the Covenant made frequent use of energy shielding - Spartans also make use of this, btw - which I'd argue is more powerful than kinetic barriers, since it is capable of blocking directed energy weapons such as lasers like the M6, however briefly, which woud bypass a kinetic barrier altoghether. As for Mass Effect guns, they are so much more advanced by necessity. They cannot accelerate the shot too fast or in unfavorable conditions or they risk the atmosphere burning up the grain of metal before it can ever reach the target; accelerate too little and the shot will have no impact. It is a very fine balance that needs to be constantly adjusted, hence, the combat VIs. Not to mention that UNSC rounds would actually have greater yield per shot due to the size of the bullet - someone actually did the math, but I can't find the thread rn - so it would take less shots to overload a kinetic barrier than a Mass Effect weapon would take, though the latter does have greater fire rate - I would have said it has greater ammo count too, exept they are still just as limited by thermal clips. This aplies to shipboard weapons as well. A Mass Driver has much greater fire rate and effective range but even the weakest frigate-mounted MAC has more yield than the main cannon of the Destiny Acension due to the sheer size of the slug; 65 kilotons per 600 ton shot, versus 60 kilotons per 20 kg shot. That is not to say that a UNSC frigate would be able to take on a Council dreadnought; the higher fire rate and range of the Mass Driver makes that unlikely - although given that UNSC ship armor is strong enough to take multiple direct hits from the more powerful Covenant weapons, it could concievably charge in, tanking the hits from the dreadnought, and starting a battle of attrition once it's in range... food for thought. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nooooooooo! Why did you stop?! |
![]() ![]() Ah, so it's one of those trashy fics that completely kills Halo tech thus making the crossover pointless to start with, got it and thanks for the warning. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Great. Another shitty ME wank fic. This story is officially url blacklisted. Goodbye. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is a hell of a gripping story |
