This one was beautiful. Sad about the loss of his brothers but, he survived and thrived with Bella's love. It was interesting to learn she was asked to leave the beach. A sign of the times, indeed. I wonder when the bikini became commonplace? Very good one-shot. I enjoyed it.

This is a lovely story. I don't know how I missed it when you posted it. My parents met in WW2, when he was assigned to the Catholic chaplain in NYC where my mother lived. He used to joke that he didn't see any battlefields, but he still got some action.
