| ninepen chapter 1 . 6/16/2014
The comb bit, very sad. Loki sounds so matured here. Grief is a crushing thing regardless, but the way he's able to respond to Thor, to accept Thor's statement that he should have been a better brother, add that Odin should have been a better father (without rancor or bitterness), and then add that he too should have been better. Because no one's perfect. It sounds like Loki might very well make a good king now. I'm glad he got to see that Odin did love him, that he was *willing* to see that.
"Part of his penance." I can see that in Loki here. I do really like this quieter, more mature or settled Loki, making his way despite nearly overwhelming grief.
An end to the glorification of war on Asgard, hm...well, good luck with that one, Loki! But at least some tempering of that might do Asgard some good and might be achievable.
And "It was almost enough to make him wish he had decided that course instead" - Ha. There's a flicker of the malleable trickster who will find a way out of any situation

This was very good. Exceptionally well written. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Amazing; poignant and vibrant at the same time, Loki makes a better king than Odin and a better brother as his father than he did as himself - I'm sad this is the end, I would have enjoyed more :-D
| Rachelle Lo chapter 1 . 12/7/2013
Well-written, in character, empathetic and fascinating. Well done.

Those last lines were so powerful they make Thor look like a Boy Scout. Great story
| DietCokeLemon chapter 1 . 12/5/2013
"So I ruin all precious things I touch."
And that are Loki's issues in a nutshell, aren't they? He really believes that he left the mostly harmless, mischievous person behind and became a monster... Saddest and truest line in the whole story.
"Perhaps they might even pick up a book once in a while." Heh, love that :D
Another wonderful story... I love your characterisations, they're just soooooo neat :)
| Shadow Chaser chapter 1 . 12/4/2013
The feeeeeeeeeeels. The sorrow...the massive, massive FEEEEEEEEEEEEELS. I think my heart is breaking again. *sigh* Yeah. It's about as much as I thought of what happened to Odin in my head canon for now. That he did go into Odinsleep and Loki is actually performing the duties of a regent (albeit with a few changes) like he always should have. _ I love this.
| Queen Serenity chapter 1 . 12/4/2013
Sad and well-written.

| xAngel-Demonx3541 chapter 1 . 12/3/2013
I saw the movie and was so happy Loki survived and got the throne but I was upset that Frigga died and he wasn't able to say goodbye. Loved your story, it gets all the feelings that loki would feel! :)
| Cassandra Cassidy chapter 1 . 12/3/2013
I am in ruins, and this fic is perfection itself. Thank you for writing and sharing it. It's EXACTLY what I envisioned but couldn't put into words. Especially the part about Loki having delivered the news of his own "death" to Odin just to see his reaction - that's what I thought he was up to, as well. Ugh. UGH. MY HEART. Odin was so inconsistent in this movie, and I continue to like your version better.
I have a lot of bitterness about Frigga's death, which I could go on about at length but probably shouldn't here. I don't know if you've been watching the Agents of SHIELD show, but something that happened on there recently just makes me MORE mad about it. My only comfort at this point is that she'll live on in YOUR AWESOME FICS because /dissolves into tears.
To summarize: this fic is perfect and you are awesome. Thanks again. ; . ;
