Nice job on this very interesting chapter and nice job with the flag at the end!

a demonic duck of some sort... well it gos well with the duck pond option. but for a while i thought you might be a fan of a web comic called El Goonish Shive. they use a more 'normal' size demonic duck as a distraction.

still party went off with only a couple minor hicups. everyone was happy, and nabiki was in two places at once with the help of ami. also its nice that ami and her mom are seemingly ok with the other knowing but not knowing at the same time. very good chapter.

Great fight with the demon duck and using the mountain soarer. Looks like they know what it is and know it was danger.

The demonic duck was hilarious, as was the identity switching with Ami. That bit at the end is a really interesting plot hook for future chapters, as well.

“giant demonic duck” Argh! I can’t remember if a Soarer could be described as such…

“What is that?” So, it is NOT a Soarer! She would have recognized one at once!

You know what? I’m half expecting it to be intelligent, and know Yori and Chou, and is actually going to them to request help to go back home…

“Come on, Nabiki,” Err… The Soarers might blow her cover… On the other hand, how did Chou manage to go through the portal without them following? (it IS still open, after all…)

“you're dealing with old stock that was somehow removed from the facility before it was closed” It would match with the old portal generators… Let’s hope…

“They probably don't have the capacity to make more” Well… The given fact that they preventively dosed their men before an easy operation that they had multiple contingencies to extract them safely from, I’d say that they either have the first compound in great quantities, or it is easy to make…

This was absolutely amazing and totally worth the wait! Thanks for all your hard work on it! Chiyoko is adorable and I really enjoyed her perspective. Also, am I the only one who thinks her grandmother might very well be the ladle lady? That would totally be an interesting coincidence, and could lead to a mentorship with the Sisterhood of Doom. Kuno and Kodachi fighting the demons was amusing, as was when Mousse flung the knife at the thing and it ate it. I cannot wait for them to come down hard on Gosunkuni, though - he totally deserves whatever is coming toward him.
Also, just what was that thing there at the end? Soarers coming through, perhaps?

Such travel usually takes place aboard a trans-dimensional spaceship like Arthra or Claudia but it is also possible for a mage to teleport just themselves to another world (see Dimensional Transfer). The mechanics of this process have never been explored in detail in the series.
