PhoenixDK1984 chapter 21 . 10/9/2019 Gabrielle, no A |
PhoenixDK1984 chapter 19 . 10/9/2019 You made a tiny mistake in the previous chapter. Phineas who was kicked out of the familiy was the son of Phineas Nigellus And Ursula Flint |
Wednesday's Jest chapter 4 . 10/9/2019 So I think the best thing to do is to change the sequence of events a bit. Have Harry upset at the change, but forced out of number 4. He goes to number 12 and has the run in with the painting. That explains why she isn't trying to get the change reversed and explains why she knows how to comport herself. |
imoshen88 chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 Sooo, don't get me wrong, I am over the moon (and kind of shocked) that this story again is updating, I have missed it more than I can put in words; but did the very first chapter after so long have to starting with Alya getting engaged to a guy?... I mean, I assume that either something will change, or it will be purely on paper, but a small part of me also fears that this is to be her faith.. What happened with the femslash tag? *cries* Nonetheless, will just repeat how great it is to see this story back and I am very curious about what might be to come. |
Wednesday's Jest chapter 2 . 10/9/2019 While I am sure this isn't your intention, having Harry/Alya suddenly dressing in women's fashion feels like there is unspoken commentary on gender roles present. While realistically Alya would be a hairy unshaven mess, since Harry's not known for putting much effort into grooming, here she passes without notice. I can only assume that the gender change came with changes to Harry's mannerisms and opinions which circles us back to the whole gender roles bit. Alya should come across as a man in the shape of a woman. Instead there seems to have been a change of gender role along with the change to biological sex and that has some creepy implications. |
Wednesday's Jest chapter 1 . 10/9/2019 The transition from Harry to Alya is resolved far too quick for my mind. The anger and panic pass super quickly and next we know Alya is transfiguring women's clothes. Even if Harry has the mental fortitude and agility to accept the gender change quickly there is no explanation for the rest of the changes to his personality. The inference must then be that by changing gender he also changed in personality, but that places too much weight on the importance of gender. I would have preferred to see a Harry that, when he changes gender, changes very little. Looking at the books Harry could have been female for most of the story without anything changing. |
SarahTaylorTam chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 Great chapter glad to see you are back this is a very imaginative story and I always love and prefer femslash and there are few femharry femslash stories. Can't wait to see where you will take this keep up the good work. |
vysirez chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 I don't really see how Alya was careless. The situation used to kidnap her was pretty much impossible to avoid, unless there is some way to make yourself immune to portkeys. It's one of the flaws I see in the HP world. There are a lot of things that don't make sense or are difficult to believe. As shown here, portkeys plus imperius makes it stupidly easy to kidnap someone. Basically the issue is that there are so many things open to abuse cause JKR didn't bother to think things through. Imperius, port keys, obliviate, plus many other things. The thing is, all of these things are so abusable that counters would have to have been created, otherwise there wouldn't really be a wizarding society, just a bunch of evil people running around doing whatever they want. Happy to see another chapter, but short though, and I'm fairly nervous about the situation with Orebella. |
Blackholelord chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 So a marriage between Alya and Orebella's grandson... The story was going on way in terms of how Alya lived in terms of partners, now the sudden change. Well not really sudden, but in the ways I see it. I am pleased with it being continued, but this latest twist left me mixed feeling about it. |
Neon1311 chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 I'm pleasantly surprised to see an update to this story. I'll have to reread the previous chapters again, but from what I remember it feels kind of out of character that Alya just accepts the marriage. |
Sinom Bre chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 Lovely to see you continue this. It's on my alert list for a reason. Heh. The circumstances surrounding Grimaldi and the arranged marriage seem to be out of tone when compared to the preceding chapters of the story, but I'll wait to see what arises out of it. After all, the Notts are still around and my try to off the fellow for having the temerity to attempt wedding what they believe belongs to them. Don't be a stranger to this story. Cheers! |
TessaleeRose chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 As much as I am happy you have updated a new chapter, I am scared and a little sad to see Alya acting so weak. I was also upset to see that you started to steer the story towards a political marriage, but remembered that this is a fem!slash so I am hoping (along with most of the other comments) that this is a ploy and not going to actually take off. I also wanted to point out that this chapter felt like it disregarded the rest of the story and went it's own way with no warning or explanation, as such it felt very forced and lack luster. I am hoping there is a plan for the rest of the story. |
zarg0n chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 What? You’ve not updated this story for so long and you come back with a forced marriage?! This does not bode well for the continuatin of this story unless you have decided to do a full 180 regarding Alyas orientation... Pretty disappointed to be honest. |
vysirez chapter 21 . 10/9/2019 Rereading the story since it's been while and there was an update. Reading the oath Remus gives, I have to say it doesn't actually prove much. I'm fairly sure that Dumbledore could honestly say he makes Harry no harm, and he's sorry for what happened. That doesn't mean he can be trusted. Remus could easily give that oath and still 100% be Dumbledore's eager minion. Not objecting really, just pointing out the oath mostly just proves he's not a death eater. |
Snolf chapter 35 . 10/9/2019 Hmm, holy crap. I just found this story today, read it all in one go. While its quite good, this latest chapter is one hell of a tone-switch. While I'm not "Here just for lesbian fem-Harry" or something, this seems antithetical to the character that you have so-far written. It just blindsides us with a marriage contract. Whilst I'm sure that this is your intent, and seeing as Alya didn't exactly expect this, I do hope that it doesn't actually go through. Having her being so calmly "okay" with this feels like its completely out of character for her, as she has been portrayed. I hope that it turns out that she's been dosed with some kind of compliance potion, or charmed, or somesuch, and will find a way to fight this. The last thing I want to see is a character like Alya forced into a marriage (especially with a man, as you've written a lesbian character here), and especially having children. If this goes through, and goes down that whole "Political Marriage" path, I will certainly be dropping this story, and I would place money on a lot of other people doing so. All the above said, I'm not "OUTRAGED FAN! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'VE DONE THISS! TRAAAAASH WRITER!" Or anything like that. I'm also certainly willing to show patience, and see where this goes before jumping ship. I just wanted to give my 10 (hundred) cents. Thanks for reading this. |
