What a great read. Loved Kate's pivotal decision to go after Castle and her openness to making herself vulnerable to his resistance.

I especially liked the story Kate shared about “marking” the tree with her mom.

Great story, great characterization. You wrote this quite well and I felt like I could see everything that happened in it. That said, I felt it got a bit repetitive in the later chapters, but maybe its not meant to be harping on some of the same ideas, and its that the characters are still so unsure. At the same time they cycle through fits of uncertainty and beats of great confidence. Although you addressed it in a comment in chapter 14, it still feels wrong that the Mr. Smith secret should have been addressed. Overall, I really liked it.

Great beginning!

I’ve read this story again to see if I still feel the same as I did the first time. I feel the same and more. I’ve read some of your other stories and have really enjoyed them. You’re one of my favorite authors but this piece is my all time favorite. It’s the first story where I can actually picture the characters doing and saying what you wrote. I’ve read a lot of Castle stories and I just can’t seem to picture them in my head like I did with yours. I’ve been obsessed with the show for the last year. I never watched the show when it was originally aired. I watched it on Hulu when it first started to show on there and now I’ve bought all the seasons on Prime Video so I’ll always have it. Starting to read stories about the characters I feel is just the next progression. I’m a very big fan of Stana Katic along with being a fan of you. You write so true to the characters and I love that immensely! Can’t wait to read more!

I had this story marked as one of my favorites to read about 5 years ago and I just got around to reading it. I absolutely loved it, everything about it...the story was amazing and they way you portrayed their love story just melted my heart. I love how you took your time telling their story, the way they spoke to each other and were so raw and honest. It was very refreshing to read to such a wonderful love story. I can't believe it took me so long to read it, but let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Thank you so much for sharing.

This final chapter had a lot in it once again including so much love and openness between them. I love the memories she shared as did he. The crime scene ended relatively quickly with the promise that Kate and Rick would we together after a while at the loft. Thank you so much for this wonderful story.
