Alsyxx chapter 3 . 12/1/2016 Hey! I really enjoyed this! Keep up the good work! |
Marius blowthebarricade chapter 3 . 10/22/2015 Firstly, I must apologize for not reviewing sooner. I read this last chapter a while ago, sometime last week; I just have not found the time to review for it until now. I know you understand what it’s like to have a busy schedule and a lot of school work! Haha! ;) (I hope college is getting easier for you now too.) Thank goodness Enjolras came home safely! I was so worried that he was not going to make it. At the beginning of the chapter the engine was not working and there was a storm coming, and I was so afraid that there would be an accident of some type and Enjolras would not make it. I thought the engine might act up, and the plane would go down. Or I feared that Enjolras would persuade them into flying through the storm; or they would take off and the storm would come faster than they expected or something. I was really worried that this was not going to end well. But it did, and thank goodness! I was so glad to see Enjolras finally home! I loved Enjolras and Joly in this chapter, especially their beginning conversation when Joly was worried about Enjolras, and Enjolras did not want to let Joly know how much pain he was really in. They were both extremely in character, and I enjoyed seeing their relationship. It was really cute when they were talking about their new babies. I like the detail that Enjolras and Éponine decided to be surprised. Maybe it’s old-fashioned, but personally I like it better that way; and I think it was in character for Enjolras, he strikes me as someone who would be a bit old-fashioned if he was in a modern setting. Haha! ;) So glad that Musichetta’s baby was alright also. You had me worried about that too. I was afraid the baby wouldn’t make it, and then Bossuet and Joly would be devastated. That would be awful, and right after getting home from the war and right before Christmas. That would be terrible for all of them. Then Éponine would be really freaked out too, worrying about her own baby. But that did not happen, and I was very relieved for it. But even if it had happened, this would have been a fantastic story, I have no doubt. :) So glad Enjolras is finally home. I loved the ending. It was great. This entire fanfiction was wonderful. I loved it! Thank you so much for writing this great story. You entertained your readers and honored our soldiers and military families at the same time. Well done. Great job. Now, concerning your AU… First of all, I must say Lonestar’s “I’m Already There” is probably one of my favorite songs, so that is pretty awesome. I can see how you incorporated ideas from the song into this story, and I love it. For me at least, that makes this story even more meaningful. Oh my goodness, you planned on killing Enjolras!? That would have been so sad, but I’m sure it would have been great. (I’m sure you know by now that I’m not one to dislike major character deaths or depressing stories. I like the emotion in it ;)) Nonetheless, I am very glad he made it. I was really hoping that he would. This ending was definitely satisfying enough :D Thank you! I’d love more one-shots from this universe. This story was great, and I loved it. I love the entire idea of the boys being in the military, and I love how this story supports our troops. I’m a huge supporter of our soldiers. I’d love more one-shots based on this! I loved the entire fanfiction. You did a great job with it! Thank you again for this great story! |
Marius blowthebarricade chapter 2 . 10/11/2015 ENJOLRAS IS COMING HOME!? YEEEEEEEEES! Thank goodness! That is fantastic! I was so worried that he was going to be dead. I'm so glad that he is alive, and now he will - with hope - be home to see Eponine and his son by Christmas! Speaking of which, I saw that you posted this chapter on Christmas day. That, I think, makes this story even more powerful and meaningful. It seems, as of now, that Enjolras will make it home for Christmas, like so many soldiers do. But at the same time, his injuries, the fear that he was going to die, reminds us that there are many soldiers that do not get to see their families at Christmas. There are countless soldiers that never make it home. I loved this chapters so much. I was so relieved to hear that Enjolras was still alive - for a while you had me really scared. Thank goodness he is still alive. I love the story of how he was wounded also, how he to his friends to run first, how he was shot, how Combeferre refused to leave him, how he tried to help him when he was shot, how he carried him back, how Enjorlas's blood was dripping on his shoes... That entire part was perfect. I think that story was my favorite part of this chapter. Not only did it capture the strong characters of both Enjolras and Combeferre and their brotherly relationship, but the story itself provided suspense, action, and emotion. It was touching and powerful. And it was even more meaningful, because we know that real soldiers have to go through things like this all of the time. I loved it! Excellent job! Now, even though he is supposed to be coming home, I am worried about Enjolras. He was shot by at least one bullet, probably more since it was "guns" that went of, and then the explosion on top of that. He flat lined twice. Twice! Poor Enjolras. He is in terrible shape. Apparently, he is getting better now, since he is well enough to fly, but I am still worried. I still have a bad feeling that something bad might happen, maybe on the flight back to America, and Enjolras will never make it home. I hope not. I REALLY hope not. I will be heartbroken. Even if he does make it home safely, he is still very hurt and probably sick. I fear this is going to be very difficult for him and Eponine... especially with the new baby due probably in only a few weeks. Enjolras's body might have been permanently damaged, and he might have to struggle with this for the rest of his life. I hope not. I am really anxious to read more and find out what will happen. I loved both Gavrouche and Azelma in this story. You have really captured the sibling relationships between them and Eponine that I think we miss in a lot of Les Mis works: fanfics, the musical, the movie, even the brick to some extent. I loved seeing their characters in this, and I love the way you portrayed them. They are both very good to Eponine, and they will help her through this. Thank goodness she has them. Also, I will mention, I loved Joly! You definitely showed us his anxiety and hypochondria. Haha! I loved this story, and this chapter was great! I cannot wait to read more! ...But sadly, I might not get a chance until next weekend. I will try hard to make it sooner! Awesome! |
Marius blowthebarricade chapter 1 . 10/9/2015 I just read the first chapter, and this is awesome! I love this story so much already, and I cannot wait to read more! First of all, I love it whenever you put Enjolras and Éponine together as a married couple (as you know). Awww! They’re so cute! And I love it when the have children. This story is very touching and very emotional. I have had people in my family go off to war before, so I can defiantly emphasize with Éponine in this story. But for a woman with a son and a baby in her belly and her husband a million miles away, I can only imagine… Going through each day not knowing if he was going to live to the end of it. That’s torture. And so many families have to go through this. That is just one of the many reason we need to support, and honor, and pray for our troops. I’m a huge supporter of our military, and I really like the idea of Enjolras being a soldier. For one, he fights in Les Mis, so I guess he could be called a “rebel soldier.” But also he is very passionate about his country, and he is willing to die for freedom; he is patriotic, brave, courageous, selfless, self-sacrificing; and just the way he behaves, serious and courteous, has always reminded me of a soldier (I think I’ve even compared him to a soldier a few times in my fanfictions ;)). Anyway, I think it was a great idea, and I love it how Courfeyrac and Combeferre and some of the other boys are soldiers with him. I love it! Great development! My favorite part of this chapter was defiantly when Éponine told Enjolras that she was pregnant. That part was positively adorable, and so touching. Beautiful. That was some great news to tell Enjolras, and encourage him, and give him so hope and happiness while he was away at war. They are both very happy, and as a reader I am happy for them. But at the same time, there is a bitter-sweetness. Ideally, a wife tells her husband this, and he takes her into his arms, and hugs her and kisses her, and he is there with her every step of the way. It is sad that Enjolras is away at war when he gets the news, and he is away from Éponine was the baby grows and all through the pregnancy. At they same time, I am sure they are both terrified, because if Enjolras something happens to Enjolras, he will never live to see the birth of their child. I hope so much that he will come home, and he will be with Éponine when the baby is born and forever after that. Also, the characterization was perfect. I loved Enjolras’s reactions when Éponine told him—I really like the way she put that also: “Then I suppose you remember what we did basically every night the week before you left?” Haha! Love it! Love how Enj got uncomfortable. And Courfeyrac! “Followed by a, ‘shut-up Courfeyrac!’” Lol! I love it! Perfect characters! But that ending… Something is defiantly wrong. I hope beyond hope that Enjolras is not dead. I fear that he is. I just have this terrible feeling. But at the same time, Combeferre and Courfeyrac were happy when they first came back to see their wives. If Enjolras was really dead, I do not know if they would have any room for happiness? Wouldn’t they have gone straight to Éponine to tell her? I still have hope that he is alive. For goodness sake, I hope… This story is awesome so far! I love it! And I cannot wait to read more! |
Smithy chapter 3 . 1/11/2015 I love that song by Lonestar. It's one of my favorite songs from the last twenty years. I think of all those men who serve in the military who have to be away from the women they love. |
marble-lover-of-liberty chapter 3 . 4/9/2014 Wow! This was awesome :) My boyfriend is in the Army, and I know what it feels like to have someone you love leave you. He just got back from his last tour about 2 months ago, and he was in Afghanistan for a year. I can honestly say that the day he surprised me in my class, (I'm at college) was the best day of my entire life. Anyway, thank you for writing such a sweet story. |
