This story was the perfect way for me to get back into Naruto ... I forgot how much I loved Akatsuki AU's, but especially how much I love Kisame. This is awesome!

Okay so this fic was recommended to me by a Tumblr friend and honestly, I wasn't sure if I would get around to reading it. She said, "It's only 12k, so it's a quick read!" And me, unable to focus on reading for more than 5 minutes, silently wept. So I put this off for a few days then I said, "No, I should read it. The title seems interesting and I hate being the person who never reads what other people recommend to them." So, today I got online, I sat down, I opened up this story, and I read it.

Oh. My. Gosh. I wish I could accurately portray to you how I reacted when I read this. Laughing? Yes. Crying? Yes. Screaming? Yes. Secondhand embarrassment and hiding my face in my clothes and saying "oh no!" every couple of paragraphs? Oh, yes.

There is so much about this fic that I love. The fact that Deidara was turned into a literal baby (that jutsu was cool as all, what the heck? super smart too!), Tobi being jealous he didn't get to be the father, Itachi's total rage at being "mommy" (but slowly loving it and growing attached to Baby Dei), KISAME BEING THE FATHER, everyone in the Akatsuki being a family ... legit, Aunt Konan made my heart so warm. She's so good, so wonderful, I wish I was related to her. And Hi-tan. Oh my goodness. All the punishments they gave him, how clueless Dei was to his aging and the fact that "wait, moms are usually girls?", having "The Talk", learning to blow stuff up, his teen angst, running away and learning about love and kissing.

But I have to say ... when I read the fight scene and Kisame shows up and says, "Get away from my son" I LITERALLY CATAPULTED MYSELF OUT OF MY CHAIR AND LAID ON THE FLOOR CRYING. IT WAS SO GOOD AND SO PURE. I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MY HEART FELT. JUST ... SO HAPPY. Kisame and Itachi TOTALLY fell into their roles as Dei's adopted parents and it was SO CUTE! (And that freaking kiss omg. I was like "well this is not going to go well for either of them in the future, that's for sure." And then Dei started to remember things and I was like, "Well here it comes.") (Aww but Itachi being like "Well maybe we are a family ... this is kind of nice ..." MAMA BEAR ITACHI, MY HEART!)

This was crazy and crack-y and so much fun to read, and I honestly read through it very quickly. I know you aren't really in the Naruto fandom anymore, but thank you SO SO much for posting this and sharing you wild idea with us! I recommended it to another friend and she absolutely loved it! This was definitely worth the read and I'm so glad I sat myself down and read it.

Oh god. what has my life become *laughing*
