![]() ![]() ![]() Wake me up, when September ends! |
![]() ![]() ![]() You can't skate on ice if there is an anti slipping spell... The skates rely on being able to slide across the ice you know? Anti slipping spells would make you gain major traction and not be able to slide the blades on the ice (aka skate) , lol. |
![]() ![]() ![]() So 241.402 km/h? I'm pretty sure the speed limit is still 130km/h in Italy. They also use km/h in Italy. But they do use m/h in UK so that's okay story wise. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This whole story was a lot of fun, thank you for doing it. I got a real kick out of the Python bits, and I could tell you did too. Well done! |
![]() ![]() ![]() It is madness, sweet, not too long a read, and absolutely beautiful. Take nothing serious and just enjoy. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I don't think Rowling herself condoned love potions, I think she was trying to introduce "subtle" flaws into characters, and didn't think of the consequences. I mean, she did her hardest to make sure Tom Riddle was "destined to be evil", and part of that was with a love potion. From what I've seen, Rowling has a lot of good ideas, but really struggles with concrete world-building. While large plot threads are fine, intermediary details that she adds on a whim bite back in unexpected ways. It seems to me she was intending for Dumbledore to be a manipulative, but well-meaning man, but in the effort to make interesting plots for each book, and giving Harry a compelling reason to treat Hogwarts as more of a home than where he lived in the summer, she ended up making him be much, much worse. It's more concerning to me that Harry hears about these issues about the Wizarding world and *doesn't* act like a rational, well-adjusted person and freak out about it. Heck, if it weren't for the fan-created explanation for House elves (that actually is my headcanon, it makes sense), Harry should be right there with Hermione campaigning for their rights. Or at least silently supporting the movement, if he was too shy. It was certainly implied that Harry felt a huge kinship for Dobby. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm sorry to hear your condition was fatal, but I'm glad to see that you have gotten over it so quickly. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I *did* know that a group of ferrets is called a "business". It is a source of joy whenever I am reminded of it. And it is a very nice source of a pun when trying to go for as many silly group-name nouns as possible in a sentence that actually makes sense. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Diogenes is the best. There are some stories you just can't make up, because at least fiction has to be believable. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I read most of this chapter in varying tones of John Cleese's voice. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Simply Fantastic. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Beautiful... The Monty python reference made it the best thing I read today! |
