The dream she had when she was under was something that she had always secretly wished for. She was on her floor in the Tower with Clint. He was back to normal and the two of them were sitting on the couch, watching TV while two children played on the floor in front of them. One was a little boy, no more than eight and he had blonde hair and green eyes, looking like the perfect mix of his parents. He was playing with another boy, this one younger, maybe four, who looked to be a copy of his father, with blonde hair and pale blue eyes. The names Carson and Max came to mind as Natasha looked at the children, a small smile playing on her lips as she watched the two interact. Carson was the older one and he was showing Max how he should put his How Wheels car on the track so it would go faster. Max, though he looked almost too excited to wait, bounced impatiently, waiting exactly a minute before clutching a car in small fist and then taking care to place the car on the track just as his brother had showed him.
Natasha turned her attention back to the show and watched the characters move around a bit before she heard footsteps on the tile floor and Clint hugged her closer to her side, pressing a kiss to her temple. "Sounds like Maddie doesn't want to nap."
Natasha peeked over the edge of the couch to find a small girl- Natasha's brain supplied that she was almost two- now entering the living room. She had long red curls that hung halfway down her back and pale green eyes that lit up as she saw Natasha. "Mama!"
The girl sprang forward, hugging Natasha tightly with small arms. Natasha figured that she must have been on a mission because the boys too turned, noticing Natasha for the first time. They smothered her in hugs along with little Maddie and Natasha smiled, holding them all close, pressing kisses to each little head. Clint smiled at her over their heads. As he leaned over to kiss her, the scene faded to black, leaving Natasha longing for more. She blinked away slowly, unsure of what was happening. She heard an annoying repetitive beeping, and that combined with the scent of antiseptic told her that she was in a hospital. Clint was next to her, his face pressed into the bed sheet and his hand was tightly entwined with hers. Frowning, Natasha took a moment to look around the room. Had everything about the Avengers turning into kids been a dream. Seeing a framed picture on the bedside table told Natasha that it had not. It was a picture of Natasha crowded in bed with Thor, Maria, Clint, Tony, Bruce, and Steve as their young selves. A smile touched her face, but the joy was short-lived as she was hit with the pain of what had happened at Hydra.
Groaning, Natasha shifted, trying to find a more comfortable position. Clint jolted awake then and grinned at Natasha. "Thank God you're awake." He pressed a kiss to her lips and Natasha smiled into the embrace. Clint nuzzled her nose with his and Natasha giggled. Clint closed his eyes briefly. "I love that sound. Do you have any idea how much you scared me? I thought I lost you."
Natasha frowned. "What do you mean?"
"After that Asgardian doctored fixed the team up, we went to SHIELD and Fury told us that you were injured in the field. I came down here and they told me that they doubted that you would make it. You flatlined twice on the table and a few more times after. It's been almost a month since they brought you back here."
Natasha sighed. "What the hell happened?"
Clint stroked a thumb over her knuckles. "Well, I don't know much. I remember falling asleep in the middle of the fight with Hydra. I'd seen them knock you out and I tried to get to you. I sort of remember waking up as a kid, confused, but completely worried when you wouldn't wake up. I remember being happy. Then I fell asleep and woke up again with Pepper and Doc Svenson over me. They were explaining everything that happened and I didn't believe them when they told me I'd turned into a kid until Pepper showed me a few pictures. What went down at Hydra?"
"They saw us coming. They were prepared. They killed everyone but me and tortured me for information. I gave them a fake code and got the message out to SHIELD. They came for me and the rest is history."
Clint shook his head. "You're never allowed to scare me like that again. How am I supposed to live in a world where my wife is dead? I couldn't do that."
Natasha smiled. "So, did Pepper show you all the pictures?"
Clint chuckled. "Yeah, and the videos. Maria was less than amused about the pirate onesie. I thought it was pretty hilarious myself. Tony thought that he was the coolest because he managed to work the suit when he was just a little guy and we got into an argument about who was cooler as a kid. It pretty much ended when Bruce turned into the Other Guy. I thought it was pretty damn cute that we all crowded your bed when we got scared."
Natasha chuckled. "Cute indeed. Anything important happen since I've been out?"
"Um, no, not really. Well, that's bit of a lie." Clint looked extremely excited. "You know how the doctors always told us that you couldn't have kids?" Natasha nodded and Clint grinned widely. "They were running tests and they realized that they were wrong. You're perfectly perfect. There's nothing wrong."
Natasha's eyes welled with happy tears. "We can have a family?"
Clint's eyes looked rather misty as well. "Yeah. Yeah. When we want to, we can have a family. Whatever you want, baby."
Natasha grinned and pulled Clint down for another kiss. "As soon as I bust out of this joint, I plan to get started."
Clint laughed and held Natasha close, Natasha seeing that dream about her, Clint, and the kids start to come true.
A/N: There you go! I am so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, sorry it took me this long to update! I tried to write, but I've been going through some pretty serious emotional problems and I couldn't write a word for a long while. This is the first I've really written in a while. I hope I tied everything up for you guys and if you want it, I could write a oneshot about Clint and Natasha actually having Carson, Max, and Maddie. If you want it, let me know and I'll get on that as soon as I can, but I can't guarantee anything soon. Love y'all, thank you for reading!
