They stayed on that rooftop for another thirty or so minutes just watching the stars and pretending to spot various constellations. Felicia wondered if Spidey's eyesight really was good enough to pick out any constellations from where they sat.

Or could my own eyesight be good enough, Felicia wondered. She's yet to really test how good her sight has become thanks to her powers.

Oh right, that is the part to focus on, you idiot, she chastises herself and goes back to focusing on Spider-Man. During their entire conversation, not once did their hands separate.

"Well Spider, as much as I'm enjoying this astronomy session between us, you got anything else to show me tonight?" Felicia asks.

"As a matter of fact, I do," he replies while pulling out his Spider Tracer Tracker to check the time. "It should be starting now actually." Spider-Man stands and pulls Felicia up with him. He scoops her into his arms and moves towards the edge of the roof.

"Remember, if you get frightened, just keep your eyes on me," he says and Felicia gives a quick nod. Spider-Man jumps off the roof and begins swinging them to their next destination.

Felicia does as she was told and keeps her focus on Spider-Man at first, but after about a minute, she looks down at the streets below them. A sense of vertigo overcomes her for a moment, but she refuses to look away; partially because she wants to embrace this experience with Spider-Man, but also because she knows that building up a tolerance for heights is something she'll need for when she makes her move on Quest Labs. Or at least the place Smythe claims is Quest Labs.

I sincerely hope your loyalties haven't wavered, Smythe…ugh, stop focusing on your paranoia, Felicia! It's getting old. What matters now is your Spider…your Spider?…yeah, he's mine. I won't feel any shame in thinking this, she thinks and looks back at Spider-Man with a wide toothy smile.

"Hang on," Spider-Man tells her.

"What else can I dooooooo!" Felicia cries out as Spider-Man lets go of his web line and they land on the roof of another building. "Please, a warning next time would be nice," she breathes out not letting go of him.

"You're right. I'm sorry," he apologizes. "Have to remember it's not just me in the air this time."

"You're forgiven," she accepts and he sets her down. "So where are we now?" She asks as Spider-Man leads her to a skylight.

"Just above J. Jonah Jameson's apartment."

"Wait, what?" She asks and takes a peak down the skylight.

Surely enough, she could see the 'jolly' one himself standing amongst a crowd of people. Looked like he was throwing some sort of ritzy party.

"We can't stay here, what if we're seen?!" Felicia panics.

"Oh…I. I didn't realize you were embarrassed to be seen with me," Spider-Man says in a fake sad tone.

"Be serious," Felicia says lightly slapping his shoulder, which gets a chuckle out of him. "We both know how much he hates you. If he sees us, who knows what kind of field day he'll have at the Bugle," she continues while pulling Spider-Man away from the skylight.

"Don't worry, we're not here to spy on him or anything," Spider-Man clarifies as they move safely out of view.

"Then why are we here?" She questions.

"For all JJJ's faults, if there's one thing he's got good taste in, it's a band and their music for his little parties. I was wondering if you'd give me the honor of this dance," he says with a bow as they can hear a song starting to play.

"Oh you are unbelievable," Felicia says while curtseying.

"Not sure that's quite the word I'd use to describe myself," Spider-Man says as he takes Felicia's waist and their hands slip into one another.

"And what would that be?" Felicia asks as they begin swaying to the music.

"Hm, amazing?" He suggests.

"I'd say spectacular, actually," she replies.

"The Spectacular Spider-Man. That has a nice ring to it."

"It certainly does-whoa!" She gasps when Spider-Man dips her.

"Wow. I love it when you do that," she says as he pulls her back up.

"And I love that you love it when I do that."

Felicia humorously rolls her eyes at that statement. "Ok, just because you're you, I'm gonna let you get away with saying something as cliche as that," she jokes and rests her head against his shoulder as they begin moving around in a circle.

"I'm getting dizzy!" She exclaims.

"Oh are you," Spider-Man says with a grin behind his mask and then instead of stopping their spin, he spins Felicia away from him, before shooting a web line at her hip, and spins her back into his chest. They both break into a fit of giggles at Spider-Man's mild trolling before really taking a moment to gaze into the other's eyes.

There is a brief pang of guilt in Spider-Man's heart for almost subconsciously repeating the move he once used on Gwen. But Felicia's hand caressing his cheek makes it go away; at least for the moment.

"The last time you tried that, we got pretty close didn't we," she reminds him and he realizes Felicia is up on her tip toes already. "Dare to pick up where we left off that night," she offers.

Despite not feeling guilty at the moment, Spider-Man still doesn't feel right about kissing her after doing that move and so politely shakes his head no.

"Believe me, when the moment is right for a kiss to follow that, we'll both know," he says.

"You're such a tease," she fake pouts.

"I know," he chuckles as a faster song picks up. Their feet move swiftly to the beat, nearly perfectly in sync with one another and they quickly find themselves spinning around again.

Felicia can't help the laughs pouring out of mouth as she hangs onto Spider-Man. She can't remember the last time she had this much fun with anyone. Yet here she was having the time of her life with none other than Spider-Man. Spider-Man himself grinned widely at the realization that this is the most legit fun he's had in quite some time too. It wasn't a superhero fun either, but a real grounded fun. Eventually they lose their balance from dizziness and collapse to the floor still in a fit of laughter.

"You really do know how to show a woman a good time," she compliments.

"I try my best," he replies, but then suddenly feels his Spider Sense starting to tingle and looks to the door that leads to the roof.

"I'm going to have to jump off the roof now."

"What?!"

He doesn't bother to explain and just picks Felicia up, dashes to the edge of the roof and jumps off; grabbing the wall once they go over to halt their decent.

"What was that?!" Felicia angrily whispers.

"Shh," Spidey shushes her as the rooftop door opens.

"I could've sworn I heard someone laughing out here, Mr. Jameson," a most unwelcome voice says.

Oh great, Eddie Brock, Felicia groans in her head.

"Well, as you can see Brock, there's no one out here," they hear Jameson reply.

"You're absolutely right, sir."

"I always am. Now what's this about and why couldn't you discuss it with me inside?"

"It's about Oscorp sir. Couldn't very well talk about this when the Oscorp employees you invited tonight could be listening. Anyway, I've been doing some investigating on my own time and I think I might be onto something big. Something that concerns Felicia Hardy."

Oh you have got to be kidding me. What could this joker possibly have on me? Felicia thinks.

"Hope you realize I'm not paying you extra for this."

"Oh this isn't about money, Mr. Jameson. I just want you to take Parker off anymore Oscorp assignments with me."

"And why should I do that? Parker might irritate me, but he is good at his job."

"Let's just say I don't trust him, sir."

"I'll need more than that, Brock."

"If I get you that, will you take him off Oscorp?"

"I'll think about."

"That's good enough for me. Now, let's get back inside before we're missed…," Eddie stops talking when he notices Jameson has already walked past him and back down the stairs.

"I hate that man," Eddie mutters to himself and runs after his boss.

Spider-Man waits a few more seconds then pulls himself and Felicia back onto the roof.

"Before you ask, no I don't know what Brock's talking about," Felicia says.

"Don't worry, I wasn't going to accuse you of anything. However, if Brock thinks he's got something on you, it's best you watch your back."

"Tell me something I don't know. I'll handle him," Felicia sighs. "That puts a bit of a damper on my mood. Can you please take me home?"

"Of course," Spider-Man says; mentally cursing Brock's name. Felicia's thoughts are occupied by what they overheard the entire way back. What does he think he has on her, and how can she stop him?

You have super powers now, so you can always scare him…no. That'll give him more ammo to work with. Pay him to keep quiet? Oh, he'd definitely love to have a bribery scandal to report. Damn it, Brock! Tonight wasn't supposed to be about this!

"Felicia?"

"Hm?" They're back on her apartment balcony. "Sorry, spaced out there," she says and Spider-Man lets her down.

"I'm sorry about how tonight ended," Spidey says shyly running his hand down the back of his head.

"Don't be," Felicia says. "It's still the most fun I've had in, well, ever."

"Yeah, me too. You think web slinging is something you'd like to try again."

"Just promise me no more surprise take offs or leaps from buildings."

"I…promise," he says; briefly stammering when the word promise comes from his lips.

"You ok, Spider?"

"Yeah, of course," he fibs and feels dirty doing so.

One day, I'll be able to explain this to you, Felicia, he thinks.

"I better get going," he rather hastily says and turns only for Felicia's hand to quickly grab his.

"Ahem. Aren't you forgetting something?" She asks with a sly smile on her face.

"My apologies," he says walking back up to her.

"Words are cheap, Spider," she says walking her fingers up his chest and to his mask. "Show me how sorry you are." She pulls his mask up.

"Of course." They lean towards each other, but Felicia stops and inch from his lips. She giggles when he tries to close the distance and holds him back. "See, I can be a tease too."

"I am at your mercy, Ms. Hardy."

"Hm, I'll allow that slip up." She nips his lips. "Just this once." She kisses him more fully. "Just because." She brings their lips together for longer, but pulls back; laughing on the inside as she can feel her hero's resolve crumble under her teasing. "You're you." She whispers.

She then stops playing and plants a big passionate goodnight kiss on Spidey's lips. The first of hopefully many more to come.
