Then he did something that was completely against his characteristics. He grabbed Zoe's arm and teleported themselves away.
My eyes grew wide and I became quite annoyed. This Idiot! He really thought he was in trouble. I sighed knowing that I had to talk to him later about this.
My eyes drifted to the Apollo Campers and immediately I wanted to hit myself. It was not good that the Apollo kids new about this all. I had to cover Percy before I find out what really happened. For sure the Apollo Campers were going to spread rumours.
"Will, come to me, ok?" I asked as nice as possible. He nodded and came to me.
"I know what you will be asking Annabeth and I try my best to keep them at bay, ok?" he said and I was a little stunned. Was it really that easy to read my thoughts?
"Ok, thank you. I will tell Chiron about this now." I told him and walked away as soon as he had said his goodbye to me.
Shit! Now the whole camp will know what had happened. And Zoe will probably hate me!
Just in that moment she began to stir. Slowly she opened her and looked around confused. Her eyes narrowed and slowly her gaze turned to be. Her eyes bored into me, most likely expecting an answer. I sighed and spoke up.
"Before you get angry, let me explain, ok?" I asked and she nodded.
"You probably have figured out that we fell asleep on the beach, right? Yeah. But I think somehow Annabeth found out that I was missing and so the Camp began to search for us."
"Let me guess: they found us sitting on the beach snuggled close together. And because you are you, you just had to wake up at exactly the time they found us, right?" Zoe guessed.
"Yes. But theres is more..." I whispered quietly and she just rolled her eyes as if she didn't really care.
"I figured already. Otherwise we wouldn't be sitting in a different location, would we?" she questioned.
I gulped nervously. How will she take it? Before I could start Zoe took my hand with hers and smiled at me, "You know you can tell me everything, right? After all I'm your girlfriend now, or am I not?"
I couldn't help but smile warmly at her when she said that. It just felt so right. Without thinking it through I pulled her closer to me and kissed her. I just had realised that now Zoe and me were finally together!
When we stopped the kiss we were both breathing heavily.
"Now can you please help me what happened?" Zoe asked softly and snuggled closer to me. I put my arm around her, just holding her close.
"When I woke up I didn't notice that the search group was there already and I kissed you. Then Annabeth showed up and told me to explain. I kind of panicked and teleported us away."
Zoe started to laugh. I looked at her confused but she again just rolled her eyes.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"You realise that she was only teasing you. I think she already knew that you had a thing for me anyways. So just calm down Percy. But I think we should talk to her. She probably convinced the Campers not to tell anybody to 'protect' us a little bit. So I think we should thank her, too."
Slowly I nodded, seeing the logic behind Zoe's thoughts, "You are right, I guess."
I stood up, lifted Zoe up and carried her in my arms. She giggle and cuddled closer to me.
"I can teleport us directly to Annabeth. Do you really want to stay like that when we talk to her?"
Instead of giving and answer Zoe pecked me on the lips. I think no answer is an answer, too.
Eventually I we vanished from our current location and appeared right in front of Annabeth.
"Ahhh! Who is that?" Annabeth shouted panicked with her dagger already in her hand.
"Relax Annabeth. It's just good old Percy." I grinned.
"And good old Zoe!" added Zoe in a joking manner.
Annabeth put her dagger away quickly and smiled, "So how are my two lovebirds doing? I want to have some explanation Percy, you know."
I nodded quickly and we sat down. Zoe was now sitting on my lap. I think her behaviour was quite weird but I didn't complain.
I explained the whole situation to Annabeth. She grinned the whole time... This girl could be annoying if she wanted to be.
After I was done with the story Annabeth said, "Thank you for telling me. I already told the Apollo Campers to keep this a secret so I will do so as well. See you around then."
With that she stood up and walked away. I sighed.
"What should we do now?" I asked Zoe.
She shrugged, "Dunno. Maybe we could eat something. I'm starving!"
A few days later
Today was time for capture the flag! I was really excited, because I hadn't had a fight for so long.
The match today was between the Hermes Cabin — including Zoe — and the Chaos Cabin — me — against the Ares and Athena Cabin.
It would most likely be a good and fair match because there were so many campers in the Hermes Cabin.
Officially Zoe was sleeping in the Hermes Cabin, too. But a few days ago my dad visited me and told me it was ok to let Zoe sleep in my cabin — in her own room of course. Until now nobody, expect Annabeth had noticed, that she was sleeping somewhere else so it wasn't a problem, I guess.
Currently I was preparing myself for the game. I have to admit that it was a bit unfair that I was taking part in the game, too. I was by far the most skilled fighter in Camp and Zoe was the second best one.
Chiron started the game and everybody ran into a different direction. I sprinted straight to the other team's flag, Zoe following close behind me. You may have not noticed but since we admitted our feelings for each other we became nearly inseparable.
Anyway... we didn't make it very far before we met two players from the other team.
Zoe looked in my eyes. No words were needed between us. Suddenly Zoe jumped towards one of our opponents and began the fight.
I took the other one. Swiftly I took out my sword, swinging expertly in the hope to disarm him.
But he reacted quickly and moved away in a fluid motion. He wasn't bad at fighting if he was able to avoid my blow.
Quickly he swung his sword at my leg, hoping to make me fall. I decided to have some fun with him.
Using one of the powers I recently discovered the sword just went through my leg like it was air. The funny thing about this was that my opponent lost his balance because he didn't expect the sword to travel through my leg, of course. He fell with his face to the ground and grumbled, "I yield"
Zoe and I started to laugh. She had watched the whole fight. Her opponent was lying on the ground too, but unconscious.
We continued our run to the flag but we never met another player. Such a pity!
The other teams flag was positioned at Zeus' Fist and guess who was guarding it... Annabeth. Not really a surprise.
Annabeth grinned, "How nice of our two lovebirds to pay me a visit!"
I groaned, "You know that you cannot defeat us, right? It's two against one."
"Yes, I do know, but right now you are doing exactly what I have planned: talking and waisting time. Probably we have already won by now."
"No way! Now come over here so we can fight!"
She stuck out her tongue, "You will have to come here. Or don't you want to have the flag?"
Knowing that I would not win this argument and that she was right I sprinted in her direction. She started grinning like crazy but as soon as I saw that I knew it was too late. I ran straight into the trap. It was the classical. Some hole with some branches and grass over it.
"How can someone be so dump?!" Zoe asked grinning and ran away to get the flag.
I sighed but eventually prepared myself to teleport away. Just then I noticed a blue glowing symbol. It was a Greek Delta and I instantly knew that it was of great importance.
I tried to reach Annabeth over our mind connection. Just if you are wondering: Yes, I made one with Zoe, too. Anyways...
"Annabeth, are you there?" I asked
After a few moments she replied, "What is it Percy? Do you need a brain to escape from the hole?"
"No I don't! I would have already teleported myself out of it. But I found a strange Delta symbol here. I thought that you might know more about it."
"Delta symbol?! Tell me where you are and do not move!" she 'shouted' in my mind.
"In the hole you trapped me in, dumbass! Who needs a brain, huh?"
"Shut up! I will be right there!"
A few minutes later Annabeth fell in the hole, too.
I laughed, "You could have at least rang at the doorbell! What happened to your manners Annabeth?"
Annabeth laughed at my bad joke but didn't comment it. She just had eyes for the blue glowing Delta.
"Percy, I hope this is not what I think it is. The only way to find out is to press it."
"What do you think it is then?"
"The Labyrinth of Daedalus."
