A candle on the water

Well, I wrote another song fic. I have way too much time. Anyway next part of Cassi should be up

Not mine, song belongs to Disney I think.

"Dada?" Mari smiled. If only Sirius could hear his son. He'd love it.

Jamie reached for his brother and poked him. Remy didn't like being poked and ignored his brother.

Cassi sat at the table doing her homework.

Mari thought, not for the first time, on how much all of his children looked like their father.

Oh Sirius, what happened to us?

She turned to the wind. The stars shone bright. Just over the hill she could she Sirius, the Dog Star.

Where was he now? She wondered. Was he cold and hungry? Was he safe?

I'll be your candle on the water
My love for you will always burn
I know you're lost and drifting
But the clouds are lifting
Don't give up you'll have somewhere to turn

She thought back to when they had married. He had been so happy. He could bealry say I do.

James told her later how he and Remus literally had to drag him out, he was so scared. She laughed, because Sirius was never scared

Not even when their home had been attacked by death eaters.

I'll be your candle on the water
'Till ev'ry wave is warm and bright
My soul is there beside you
Let this candle guide you
Soon you'll see a golden stream of light

She wished he would be home soon. She ran her hand over her growing belly. Their fourth child would be here in less than five months. And he didn't even know.

She had no way of telling him. His letters were delivered the normal way, at least by her standards, and there was no return address and Cassi didn't have an owl.

A cold and friendless tide has found you
Don't let the stormy darkness pull you down
I'll paint a ray of hope around you
Circling in the air
Lighted by a prayer

It had hit him hard, when Lily and James had died. Very hard when he realized Peter was the traitor. He had been all alone for twelve years. Twelve years that would make him a very different man.
But she would never give up on the man she loved. She would raise to children to know that their father was a good brave man. And she would try her best to see that they knew him.

"Time for bed." The little ones made no protest nor did Cassi. In fact she looked relieved to put aside the potions essay she had been working on.

She tucked the boys in and kissed them good night.

Then she went downstairs and lit a candle. She placed it in the window as she did every night.

Just in case.
I'll be your candle on the water
This flame inside of me will grow
Keep holding on you'll make it
Here's my hand so take it
Look for me reaching out to show
As sure as rivers flow
I'll never let you go
I'll never let you go
I'll never let you go...
