"Mum?" I asked looking over to her, "Yes" she hummed still reading.

"Did you mean what you said?" She stopped reading and looked at me her eyes flashing green behind her black rimmed glasses,

"what did I say?" she questioned turning her head to the side kinda like a dog does, "about the coca cola" I answered trying to look as innocent as possible.

"Of course" She said simply before going back to her reading.

"Merida" I muttered crossing my arms, out of nowhere I got a sharp pain on the side of my head.

"Ow!" I yelped turning to my mum, "really?" I asked rubbing my head.

"I told you no more swearing in foreign languages" Her eyes still on the book, "that's no fair, you don't even know what it means" I whined crossing my arms.

"I took Spanish in school as well Pinche idiota" she said right as the plane started to move.

"Great" I mumbled sinking lower in my seat, "here we go"

"Does Stoneybridge even have an airport?" I asked trying to take my mind off the ground that was slowly becoming smaller, "Well if it doesn't we'll land in some plains" she answered looking as horrified as I was about the ground being so far away.

"Ha ha" I said my voice strained, "People aren't meant to fly" I mumbled "If we were meant to we would have been born with wings", "agreed" Mum said as she closed the shutter one the window.

She was holding the arm rest so tight her knuckles were turning white, "Mum, you okay?" I asked seeing her clench her teeth. "Yeah I'm fine, I just don't like being off the ground." she smiled at me but I could tell it was forced.

"Good afternoon passengers. This is your captain speaking. First I'd like to welcome everyone on Right wing Flight 4B7. We are currently cruising at an altitude of 33,000 feet at an airspeed of 400 miles per hour. The time is 10:14am. The cabin crew will be coming around in about twenty minute's time to offer you a light snack and beverage, and the inflight movie will begin shortly after that. I'll talk to you again before we reach our destination. Until then, sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of the flight."

"Enjoy the flight, yeah right" I growled moving to grab my IPhone and earphones out of my bag ignoring the glare from Mr. Walrus beside me.

"How long is this flight anyway?" I asked as I double checked flight mode was on.

"Around 22 hours" Mum said so nonchalantly I almost nodded along, "Wait, what?" I narrowed my eyes at her. "Well, we are flying to another country Kay" She smiled a little patronisingly at me.

"Why didn't I know about this?" I asked looking over my ticket and seeing the times and dates on it, "Because I hid it from you".

"Why? I'm extremely offended" I huffed, "Why are you offended?" She asked rolling her eyes, "I don't know, but it feels like I should be." I muttered.

"22 hours next to him" I almost gagged, this time he didn't give me a look as he had his own ear phones in. "He smells Mumma" I said as I scrunched up my nose at the return of vegemite socks, "Don't be rude" she scolded "even if he does have a rather strong odour" she went back to her book looking less tense since she shut the window.

I stayed silent for about 3 minutes before speaking up again, seeing Mr Walrus take out an earbud ready to order something from the air hostess.

Looking towards the man I smirked and said "Hueles a mierda", I know he didn't understand what I was saying by the slightly confused look in his eyes but I think he understood that it wasn't a good thing as his neck and ears turned red.

This time the pain was expected and totally worth it.
