Hello! I am so sorry it took this long to get an update out. I really am. I just lost all passion for this story and then college came in and I had little to no time to write. Again I'm so sorry. Really I can't tell you how sorry I am about making you all wait this long. There's no excuse for it.

Little update! I changed one thing in the previous chapter. Instead of cystic fibrosis it is now pancreatic cancer.

That is all.

Please enjoy :)

Percy pulled into school that Friday and parked his bike. Pulling off his helmet he saw Annabeth walking towards him. "Hello Princess, what do I owe the pleasure?"

Annabeth had a strange expression on her face that he couldn't quite place as she said. "Oh, I just wanted to wish you luck on your test in English today."

"Really?" he said, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, did you review last night and this morning?"

"I promise I did," he said shifting the book bag on his shoulder.

There was an awkward silence before Percy said. "Um..."

"So...do you have any plans this weekend?" she said, seemingly trying to make small talk.

He smirked a little. "Asking me out princess?"

She turned red and glared at him a bit. "When hell freezes over Jackson."

He put his hand on his chest. "Your words hurt me Chase, and I thought we were on first name-nickname basis now." And she only rolled her eyes at him.

"But if you want to know, I'm working mainly, you?"

"Oh I'm going to Luke's birthday party on Saturday" she answered and Percy rolled his eyes.

"What is it with you two?!"

"Sorry princess, but other than me your taste in men is lacking."

"Again, I'll reference the 'when hell freezes over' comment but I just don't get why both of you can't get over...this!"

"Castellan is jealous?" he smirked which only caused her to glare more.

"You're incorrigible."

"And yet we're still talking."

Annabeth huffed a bit and turned to walk away. "Good luck on your test today."

Percy chuckled and then walked into the school. He did try to think about what about Luke rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe it was the fact almost everything was handed to him on a silver platter from birth. Or that he seemed to feel like Olympus High was his own personal kingdom and he was the King. Percy went to class and wondered why he felt more antagonistic to Luke but also didn't want to start anything with him either. He figured he didn't want to cause Annabeth more trouble as she really was helping him graduate. Plus if it got bad he might get reassigned to someone new that wasn't as good as Annabeth.

So he made the decision to not get into it with Annabeth's boyfriend...well at least he wouldn't fire the first shot. Annabeth couldn't object to that if Luke started it.

The day went by fast and as Percy drove home he found himself thinking of Annabeth once more. A common occurrence now since the little blonde had invaded his life.

He parked his bike in front of the building and went inside. "Hey, I'm home." He called out as he entered the apartment. As he did he felt someone grab his legs and looked down, smiling he picked up Tyson. "Hey buddy, how was your day?"

"Great!" he said smiling. Percy walked further inside and smiled. "Hey Silena."

Silena was dark haired and had bright blue eyes, she was wearing a simple top and jeans but looked like she was a super model.

She smiled and said. "Hey Percy, how was school?"

"Good." he shrugged a bit. "Is Charlie at the shop?"

Silena nodded. "Yes he is, he'll be home in time for dinner though. We still have so much to catch up on."

Percy nodded a bit and carried Tyson to the living room and setting him down by his playsets and crayons. "Lookit!" He said tugging on Percy's jeans and ran to grab a drawing. Holding it up he showed Percy it and Percy smiled as he crouched down and took it. "Wow Ty, that's amazing. You're really good. I'm going to put this on the fridge okay bud?"

Tyson's smile was brighter than the suns at that point and Percy smiled back after ruffling his hair. Going to the fridge he put the picture up and Silena said. "He missed you a lot. I'm sorry we were away longer than we intended."

"No big deal," Percy said with a shrug. "I was fine and I know you took him to that aquarium he likes so much"

Silena sat down with Percy and they caught up a bit on everything that had happened. Charlie came in and Ty rushed to greet him, bouncing up and down with excitement. Charlie picked him up and kissed Silena on the cheek when he saw her. He was dressed in an old t shirt and jeans, both with oil and grease stains on them.

"Dinner's almost ready" Silena said as she took Tyson. "Thanks love," He told her smiling.

They all sat down for dinner and Percy tucked Tyson into bed. Afterwards Charlie sat down with him on the couch as Silena cleaned up in the kitchen. The pair caught up on everything and when Percy got to Annabeth, Charlie had a curious expression on his face.

"So..Annabeth Chase. You two friends now?"

Percy rubbed the back of his neck. "Sort of..I mean she doesn't hate me anymore I don't think and I don't think she's a spoiled princesss..."

"You know what I mean."

He sighed and said. "Yeah...I think so."

Charlie smiled and patted him on the back. "You know your mom would be very proud of you. I can tell you've really turned a corner here."

Percy looked down a bit and nodded.

"Invite Annabeth over for dinner sometime too. I know Silena is going to pester us until it finally happens."

Percy chuckled and shook his head. "We've moved on from the 'wanting to kill each other' stage I don't think that'll be happening anytime soon."

Charlie stood and said. "Well when you two are at that stage let us know. And she's welcome here anytime too"

Percy watched as he left and leaned back, putting his hands behind his head as he thought once again about one Annabeth Chase.

Annabeth put away some of her things in her locker and closed it. She started walking down the hall and say Hazel walking towards her. She smiled and said. "Hey Hazel."

"Annabeth, how are you?"

"I'm fine thank you," she nodded. "You?"

"I'm doing well, thank you," Hazel replied

"So how's your first week of school been?"

"Great! I really like all of my classes and everyone seems so nice," She was practically beaming and Annabeth couldn't help but get caught in Hazel's joy.

"Well that's good. And have you thought about joining any extra curricular activities?"

"I was looking into a few clubs, there is a fashion club that looks nice. I make my own jewelry, so I thought it would be a good fit."

"Really?" Annabeth looked down at Hazel's outfit. She was wearing a flowy black skirt and a gray shirt. Her necklace was a bunch of different colored chains all with different lengths. She had a bracelet on her right wrist that was a thin metal wire with the outline of a small bird created in the middle.

"That's amazing."

Hazel blushed a bit and smoothed out her skirt. "Thanks.. it's just a little hobby of mine."

"Well if you like doing it, you should pursue it."

"You think so?"

Annabeth nodded. "If you like it, you should go for it. Do whatever makes you happy."

"Okay..I'll do it. But I do want to get involved more with the school itself, not just one club."

Annabeth thought for a few moments before snapping her fingers. "I think I know the perfect place for you."

"Really?" Hazel asked, her golden eyes sparkling.

"Come on, they're meeting now." Annabeth said and started leading Hazel through the halls. "The Spirit Squad is the club that organizes nearly every everything for the school."

"Wow, that sounds really cool."

Annabeth nodded and they reached the classroom where a large group of students were working on posters and different things. "Here is the Spirit Squad."

"And they are the ones who organize pep rallies?"

"And a lot of the fundraisers for the school, and any cool or fun activities like a Spring Fair."

"Wow," Hazel's golden eyes were shining bright now.

Annabeth tugged lightly on her wrist, come on. I'll introduce you to the Spirit Captain."

Hazel followed her into the room and up to a very tan looking boy with bright blond hair.

"Hey Will?"

The boy turned around and smiled once he saw Annabeth.

"Annabeth? What can I do for our very own Head Cheerleader?"

Annabeth rolled her eyes a bit and laughed. "Hazel here is thinking about joining your crazy bunch of minions."

"Really?" Will's blue eyes locked in on Hazel.

"Y-yeah...Annabeth was telling me you do a lot of stuff for the school and I want to get involved so..."

"We're always hoping for an extra set of hands, do you have any special skills?"

Hazel's eyes went a bit wide for a moment before she answered. "Like what?"

Annabeth looked over at Will and said. "She makes her own jewelry."

Will's eyes went a bit wide at this as he appraised Hazel's jewelry for himself.

"That's great! We're starting a fundraiser in about a month where we'll be selling school themed items. We have a million t-shirts and hats and things, but no one here can make jewelry."

"Oh! Well I can help you guys with that, if you want."

Annabeth smiled as Will started talking to Hazel and said "Well, it seems you two have a lot to discuss. I'll see you later Hazel."

Hazel smiled brightly at Annabeth. "Yeah! And thank you so much for your help."

Annabeth nodded and waved goodbye before leaving. She went to cheer practice and started stretching along with everyone else.

"So Annabeth, how is Jackson? I hope Luke isn't getting too jealous." Drew asked in a sickly sweet voice. Annabeth rolled her eyes and replied "He's doing well in his classes, thanks to me. And Luke and I are fine. He trusts me and I trust him."

Drew scoffed a bit and rolled her eyes. "He won't graduate. The whole school knows it."

Annabeth shook her head and replied. "He will, and when he walks across that stage you can eat your words Drew."

She then started practice and went through a few routines and cheers before calling it and heading home. Luke called her a while later and asked if she wanted to go to dinner. He picked her up and they drove to a small dinner downtown.

Luke slid into the booth and Annabeth did the same.

"So how's practice?"

"Good. The coach is really working us hard for the upcoming game against the Giants."

"You think you'll be ready?"

Luke smirked a bit. "They won't know what hit 'em. We've got new plays and the team's really hitting our stride now."

Annabeth placed her hand on top of her boyfriend's. "That's amazing. I can't wait for the game."

The waitress then came by and took their orders. Annabeth ordered the Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup and a House Salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Luke got the double cheeseburger with a baked potato.

"So...are you excited for your birthday this weekend?"

Luke nodded. "Yeah, my parents are going all out for the party. Pretty much all of the football team is invited and so are most of the girls from your squad."

"It's still Saturday at seven, right?"

"Yeah. There's gonna be lots of food and drinks, plus a bonfire."

Annabeth smiles at her boyfriend and extends her hand to place it in his. "Sounds like it will be a great time."

"Yeah, I'm really excited."

She nodded and he squeezed her hand a bit. The waitress came back with their food and they started to eat.

"So...how's the mentoring program going?" Luke asked.

"Very well. I think Percy will really be able to graduate, and not just with the bare minimum requirements."

Luke nodded and said. "So you two are getting along now?"

Annabeth sighed and gave him a look. "We are...acquaintances.. maybe friends at best. Don't be jealous."

"I'm not! I'm just making sure that Jackson hasn't made a move on you yet."

Annabeth crossed her arms. "Even if he had, I would have handled it and then told you about it. Don't worry about it Luke."

"I still don't like it," he said leaning back and crossing his arms.

"I can't believe you Luke, do you really think I'd ever step out on you? And even then Percy knows that pigs will fly before anything romantic ever happens between us."

"But Jackson-"

"And stop calling him that," she added. "His name is Percy and he's actually nice when you get past all the smirking and wise-cracks."

"Yes." she said firmly. "And what's your problem with Percy anyway? Yes he was annoying before but I promise if you got to know him he's a good guy."

"A good guy?!"

"Why can't you try to be friends with him?"

"Why do you like him so much?" he challenged. "You hated him before he got assigned to you."

"Yes, but that was before I knew him."

"Does he secretly save puppies on the weekends? Cause I doubt he's a good guy Annie."

"You know nothing about him, why are you judging him like that?"

"Why do you seem to think he's Mother Theresa?"

"Because he's put forth a lot of effort Luke," Annabeth said. "And he's not evil or anything. He tries as hard as any of us and we shouldn't judge him because of a few fights."

Luke shook his head and sighed.

Annabeth sighed as well. "Okay...this is getting out of hand. Just...try not to be as mean from now on Luke, please? Just do this for me?"

A few moments later Luke gave a small nod. "But I'm not gonna be his friend."

"I'm not asking you to," she said taking his hand in her own. Annabeth smiled a bit and they continued eating their meal, talking about school and different things. After they finished, Luke drove her home.

He pulled into her driveway, parked, and smiled at her.

She leaned over and kissed him softly. "I'll see you tomorrow."

Luke nodded and pulled her in for another kiss. Annabeth smiled and pulled away. "Night Luke." Noticing a strange expression on his face. He looked like he was holding back or wanted to say something but he didn't. Placing his hand on her knee he squeezed it lightly and kissed her cheek. "Night."

She then got out and walked into her house and Luke drove away.

A short chapter I know but I figured it was a good enough place to try and get my muse working again.

Really I can't tell you how sorry I am about leaving you all hanging.

I'll try to be better.

This chapter is un-betaed so please be kind and I haven't really written for this story since high school so I apologize if there are any inconsistencies.

Please review :)
