Chapter 11:

Everything had been checked. Double-checked. Even triple-checked. Everything was going to be fine. So why didn't Sasuke feel fine? It was just Sakura that he was going to visit.

But that's not it.

It wasn't "just" Sakura. What she thought of him and his actions meant so much to him. And in all seriousness, he was kind of scared that she wouldn't like what was planned. Or she would think it was lame.

Ugh. It was lame, wasn't it?

He took a deep breath, cold air filling his lungs, making him feel even colder than before. Sasuke was outside, waiting for a taxi to come so he could go to Sakura's college. He released his breath, warm air meeting cold air, puffs of white forming in front of him.

When Sasuke finally managed to halt a taxi and climb inside, he welcomed the warmth. After he had told the driver the address and they had set off, he stared out of the window as he imagined seeing Sakura.

Just a few more minutes.

He couldn't believe it. How many times had he wished that she was there with him. When he was going to his dorm, he missed her presence. When eating in the cafeteria, he missed her lame jokes and how she used to grab onto him every time someone said something too funny for support. When he was cold, he missed her warmth. When he was going to sleep, he missed her in his arms.

And now he would get to experience in it again. And he was so inexplicably happy, it was unbelievable. He hoped that all of his letters reached her safely. He had been sending her his writing from when they first met a few years ago, piece by piece. If one did not reach in time, the others would not make much sense.

You're stressing about nothing Sasuke. I'm sure they all reached, my sane inner conscious relays to me. The taxi wheels to a stop and my heart rate increases by at least 40 beats per minute. I take a shaky breath as I pay the driver and thank him when he hauls my luggage out of the trunk of the car. Guitar in one hand and suitcase in the other, I start up the gate to my girlfriend's college.

Once I reach her dorm room, I know that she is not in there because she told me she has a class at this moment. I get out the key I asked the Residential Assistant to lend to me beforehand and slip into her room. I can instantly tell which side of the room is her's. Relatively cleaner and littered with pictures of us and her other friends, the room brings a smile to my face.

I set my things down near her bed and start to set up candles and take out my guitar. I text Sakura's roommate, Kaori, "I'm here." I have been texting her roommate in order to set up things and make sure everything goes according to plan. She replies back with a thumbs-up emoji. Another text follows that reads "Great! She'll be there in a few. I told her I'm going to a class and then the gym so you guys have a couple of hours." I thank her for her help throughout all this.

True to Kaori's word, a few minutes later I hear keys inserted to the lock, but then a pause. I guess she found the last letter I left outside for her. I assume she's reading it when I hear a giggle and my palms decide to start sweating even more. Furiously wiping them on my pants (it's winter, for God's sakes!) as I hear the door opening, I position my hands on my guitar and start playing.

Sakura gasps once she sees me and I feel myself break out into a smile as I play her a song I wrote named after her. Her eyes fill with tears and a hand comes up to cover her mouth in utter shock. I don't even know what I'm singing or playing at this point because the thumping of my heart is deafening in my ears. As I string the last few notes on my guitar, she lets out another sob and I put down my guitar and go over to her.

Visibly shaking, she looks up at me with more tears than before and shakes her head in disbelief. I smile and nod.

"S-Sasuke!" she cries, finally leaping into my arms. I hug her back with more force than ever before. How natural touching her feels amazes me every time. Her familiar smell washes over me and brings tears to my own eyes. "O-Oh my god! I-I...what…" She can't form full sentences, bringing a smile to my face once again.

I smoothe her hair down and whisper, "Happy anniversary."

She lets me go so that we can look at each other, and without any words, we kiss. A soft, beautiful, yet electrifying kiss that brings my heart rate up even more than before.

"I love you so much. I can't believe you're here," she says breathlessly, our faces still impossibly close.

"I love you, too. I can't believe I'm here, either," I respond.

She giggles and I smile in return. Our lips meet again, and our kisses soon turn hungry and more frantic. I lead her to her bed and after safely putting my guitar on the ground, push her onto the twin sized bed. "Oh?" she questions, sensing my somewhat forcefulness.

"It's been a while," I answer sheepishly.

She shakes her head, but then pulls me down by my shirt with equivalent forcefulness in a manner that I find insanely sexy. I kiss her ravenously once again, settling between her legs.

She pulls away for a second, "Wait, Kaori could come back soon."

I shake my head, "No, she knows already."

A smile crosses her face and she eases off my shirt, "Well, then what are we waiting for?"

I grin as I take off hers, too.

Naruto and Hinata took a train to where they were going to meet Hinata's father (or guardian, as she preferred to call him now). The two didn't exchange words. They sat in silence, next to each other with only their hands intertwined as a pillar for support. Naruto's incessant foot tapping was the sole sound in the train car. Hinata looked outside, watching the flashes of trees and white, blinding snow through the window. Her eyes were still, and her mind was filled with the worst types of scenarios possible. Questions and worry plagued her and before she knew it, the train arrived at their designation, and the overhead, electronic voice prompted them to depart the train.

Naruto got up first and tugged on her hand. Hinata rose, her legs numb, and absentmindedly follow her boyfriend out onto the platform. They knew the cafe where her father demanded they meet was located near the train station, so they opted to walk there instead of hailing a taxi.

When they reached the cafe, they both silently agreed to not hold hands, knowing that her father would cause a ruckus in the cafe. They walked in and towards the back of the cafe sat Hinata's father, who raised a hand in the air after noticing the two to motion them over. Following Naruto, Hinata trailed before, seeing two figures sitting at the table.

Hinata took a shaky inhale as they arrived at the table and her father gestured for them to sit down. Once Hinata had sat down, her eyes flickered up to meet her "fiance," Kazuhiro. His eyes were almost a gray tinge and his hair was jet black, slicked with gel. He looked much older than Hinata, in his late twenties, maybe even thirties.

"Hinata," Hinata's father started, "I'd like you to meet Kazuhiro."

Kazuhiro and Hinata shook hands; Hinata avoided looking directly at him.

Hinata's father then introduced Naruto to Kazuhiro. "This is Hinata's friend, Naruto." Naruto looked over at her father at the accentuated word, but did not reply, instead politely shaking Kazuhiro's awaiting hand. Naruto's foot slightly wound around Hinata's. The small gesture made Hinata's heart rise and gave her her voice back.

An awkward silence ensued among the four until Hinata spoke up. "I still don't quite understand why you made this decision without my consent."

Hinata's father looked appalled at his daughter's uncharacteristic straightforwardness. His eyes filled with panic and humiliation, and as he was about to utter an answer, Kazuhiro spoke first. "Sorry, I don't understand. You don't want to get married to me? This...wasn't your choice?"

Blinking and hands fidgeting, Hinata shook her head, quickly losing confidence as she felt her father get riled up. "N-No, I'm sorry. I just got the wedding information and no previous notice."

Kazuhiro looked even more confused and turned towards the eldest at the table. "Sir, you forced this upon your daughter without even discussing it first?" Hinata's father stammered in a very untypical manner, his fingernails digging into the palms of his hands.

"N-No. I mean…"

Kazuhiro stood up, "Sir, I'm sorry, but I'm not going to marry someone who doesn't even to want to marry me, or even consider the thought. You had told me Hinata-san was very excited to meet me."

Hinata's father cleared his throat and finally managed to regain his composure, letting his

fingers uncurl. "Sit down, boy. Don't you dare to speak to me that way."

Sheepishly, Kazuhiro sat down. The elder continued, "I wanted you two to meet now. And then Hinata can see how simply wonderful you are. It is better for you to meet initially, without me getting involved beforehand."

-Sakura-

We lay there, tired and satiated in the late afternoon hours of the day. My eyes flicker to his as I take his beautiful features in. I still cannot fathom he is in front of me. I thought the next time I would be able to see him, touch him, sleep with him would be months from now. I snuggle closer to convince myself this is real.

He looks at me, obviously tired from our…ahem…workout session. I giggle.

"Tired, Uchiha?"

"Well, considering we've been at it for hours now, yes," he smirks, raking his hand through his hair. "But I'm down for another round if you're good?"

I shake my head, "Oh my god, no. I'm still sore from before. You must have really missed me."

He blushes. "Shut up."

I smile and straddle him, laying down on his chest. "I'm joking." I close my eyes. "Thank you for coming. I thought I would have to spend Christmas alone."

His arms link around me. "Well now you won't have to spend Christmas or New Year's alone."

I lift my head, "You're staying until New Years?!"

Sasuke nods, his bangs covering his eyes cutely.

I move his bangs away as I kiss his nose. "I'm so happy right now I don't know how to express it in words."

He smiles. "Me too. I have missed holding you so goddamn much."

I smile, but then a thought comes to mind. "But where will you stay? We're not allowed to have people stay in our dorm rooms."

"We are going to stay in a vacation home I rented for a week. It's just a few miles from here."

I gasp. "Seriously?" And once he nods, I hug him and scoot back over to his side again. "Ugh, I love you so much." I squeeze him as I say it, squeezing his arm to my chest.

He blushes, "Uhh, Sak. If you don't want to have more sex, that's fine, but p-please don't turn me on anymore."

"What?" I look down at his arm, seeing how I am squeezing it directly to my breasts, and laugh. "Sorry." I tangle my legs with his. "But actually, I wouldn't mind going again."

He turns to me. I give him a sheepish smile that turns into a laugh as he climbs on top of me, kissing my cheek. Just then, we hear a quiet knock on the door.

We hear Kaori's voice. "Can I come in?"

Both of us slightly groan. "Yeah, just give us one second." I shout to the closed door. I turn to Sasuke who looks somewhat disgruntled. "You good down there?"

With a slight blush on his cheeks, he checks down below and nods, "Yeah. Let's put on some clothes."

Once we're both decent and have fixed up the bed, I open the door and let Kaori in. "I can't believe you could keep a secret like this from me so well!" I exclaim.

Kaori shrugs. "Well, I knew it was an important surprise, so…" she trails off with a smile. Then, she sees Sasuke who was sitting on the bed. "So you must be Sasuke. We've never gotten a chance to actually see each other before now."

They shake hands and exchange smiles.

"Yeah, thank you for your help throughout all this. It made everything so much easier,"

Sasuke says.

"It was absolutely no problem. I'm a sucker for cute, romantic gestures," Kaori states matter-of-factly, reveling in the way we blush before her.

I try to change the course of the conversation. "So how was your gym workout? Getting abs anytime soon?" My comment makes both Sasuke and Kaori laugh.

"Maybe." Kaori smirks, "But it looks like you had a workout session of your own, too. I'm gonna have to burn this entire room."

I stand up to punch her roommate on the arm, turning an even darker shade of red. "Shut up," I whine, but don't make any move to deny her statement.

"We should get going if we want to check in on time at the place," Sasuke gently nudges nudges me and I nod.

"Let me just pack a few things."

I grab a duffel bag that can fit a week's worth of clothes, and I pack quickly knowing that if I need anything else, I can just come back to my dorm and get it since the vacation home is not too far away. Once I've zipped up my duffel bag and snatched my phone charger, I hug Kaori goodbye even though we are going to meet up for Christmas.

Sasuke picks up his luggage too and we amble down the steps of my university. He sees me shivering as we're waiting for the cab to arrive that Sasuke called beforehand and sets his guitar on the ground near his legs, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind and tugging me into his broad, warm back.

"Sorry. We should have waited inside. I didn't know the cab wouldn't be here by now," he whispers in my hair. I giggle.

"It's okay. I have my human furnace to keep me warm."

He kisses me on my cheek and we see a yellow vehicle turn the corner. He lets me go as the cab driver pulls up, neither one of us a fan of PDA. After loading our luggage in the cab, we sit in the back, and luckily the heat is blasting, so it's toasty in the car.

Sure enough, we reach the vacation home in about 10 minutes because of its close proximity to my college. In front of a two story house is where we stop, almost as big as Sasuke's house and my jaw drops.

"Sasuke! Why didn't you rent something smaller? We're only staying for a week," I complain. It must have been expensive, and although I know he's more than well-off, it seems unnecessary.

He smirks as he leans forward to hand money to the cab driver. When he leans back, he comes close to my right ear and murmurs, "Only the best for my baby."

Even though it's been almost three years since we've been together, I can't help but blush like we just started dating when he says stuff like this. I smack him on the arm all embarrassed and all but clamber out of the car. I can hear him laughing and I slam the door so I don't hear it anymore. We thank the cab driver and hand-in-hand go up to our new home for the week.

"Wait, don't you have to ch-"

"I already checked in. You don't have to worry."

I roll my eyes at how well he knows me and I walk around to take in the beauty of the house. It's a Victorian style house, with reds and browns and wood garnishings everywhere. There's a fireplace in almost every room, accentuating the warm aura of the house even more. It makes me feel cozy.

"The aesthetic of this house is exactly my style. Warm, cozy, and still artsy."

Sasuke smiles. "I knew you would like it. I want to get a house like this for us when we're older."

I love that he says these things, like he knows we're going to be together until then. Most boys think that's too much commitment or are unsure of their feelings. But not Sasuke. Sasuke has always been 100% confident in our relationship. And as much as I want to be, it's not possible for me. I still have that doubt that he might one day find someone better than me and leave me. I mean, he's the literal embodiment of perfection. He would probably want someone as perfect as him.

I look down, my insecurities and stupid thoughts filling my head once again. And as always, Sasuke knows.

"Hey," he says, softly, tracing my jaw and chin with his index finger. "You know I only say these things because I know we're going to be together for that long."

"I know," I say, my voice small. I nod, but tears collect in my eyes. "It's just hard to believe sometimes that you may like me as much as I like you."

Sasuke smiles, holding my hands in his, prompting me to look at him. "I definitely love you as much as you love me. I promise."

And he kisses me once more, melting me and all my insecurities.

"I love you," I breathe into his mouth.

"I love you more," He breathes back.

We both giggle as we break away from each other, ready to get unpacked.

~Sasuke~

"We're basically like a married couple, already," I point out as we're making dinner with some groceries we went to get after we unpacked.

Sakura looks at me. I'm dressed in only a black muscle tee and grey sweatpants. And she's in a loose, white t-shirt and grey shorts, hair up in a cute messy bun. Even though it's winter, the house is pretty well heated. Sakura looks around the kitchen where we're making dinner and shrugs.

"Yeah, we're pretty domestic."

"It's because of our summers together." I smile at the memories of us waking up together every day and cooking, things like that.

She nods, smiling too. After she finishes cutting up the vegetables and meat for our soup, she hops up onto the counter next to me where I'm cooking the rice.

Once it's in the rice cooker securely, I close the lid and set the timer. I then wedge my way into the middle of her legs and wrap my arms around her waist, the counter giving her height over me. She giggles as I hold her tighter.

"Wow. So this is how it feels being taller than you?" She pats my head as I look up at her. "You look so cute from up here. I could get used to this."

I poke her side. "Don't. You will forever be shorter."

She scrunches her nose. "Meanie." She leans down to kiss me. "But I like that I can kiss you like this from here."

I smile. "Me too." I hug her waist again. "Have I ever told you how much I love your waist?"

She scoffs. "What a weird thing to love."

I snuggle even closer and hold her waist in my hands. "I don't know, it's just so nice. It, just, fits so nicely in my arms and it's so tiny and ugh, you're so cute."

She leans back to put her hand on my forehead. "Are you okay? Do you feel feverish?"

Laughing, I shake my head and rest my head on her collarbone. "No. But I am pretty tired."

"Yeah, you've had a long day. With the flight and everything." She soothes down my hair, and my eyes flutter close. This. This is what I've missed most. Not the kissing, not the sex (even though that's a close second), but just her presence. Her scent, her fingers carding through my hair, her loving embrace. It's like a small piece of heaven resides in Sakura.

"This is what I've missed most. Being like this with you. I love you, oh my god."

I feel her press her smile into my hair and her legs squeeze my sides. "Me too, baby. Me too."

Okay, wow. It's been nearly 2 years. And to be honest, I don't really know why I'm updating this now. It's just that I would hate to leave this unfinished and I know a lot of people like this (but I don't really know why, my writing has gone to hell lmao). So I'm going to try to update and finish this soon because I don't want to leave this open. I want a nice ending and I want to finish it.

So please wait a little longer! I thank you for your patience.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my work. It would mean the world if you could leave a review for me.

Thanks!
