We're back again! This time, we're sharing the continuation of The Hamptons, another one of our May to December contest entries. We hope you like it!
The Hamptons - Part Two (BPOV)
Two months since Edward and I have been together.
Two months and too many orgasms to count.
Two months and only about one hundred lies to Garrett.
I hate lying to my son.
If lies were measured in sizes, the ones I've told Garrett are small—pea-sized, really—but I still feel terrible for being dishonest. I'd much rather be able to tell him I'm going out with Edward than with Alice or Rose. I'd also love to be able to admit that the reason I'm so stinking happy lately is because of my boyfriend, not my job or because I perfected a new yoga pose.
Garrett loves me and wants what's best for me. I know that, but I can't help being afraid of his reaction to the news that I'm boinking his fraternity brother.
Edward, on the other hand, doesn't see what the big deal is. He says he's mentioned to Garrett that he's seeing someone who happens to be older than him, and Garrett thinks it's cool. But surely his opinion would change if he was to find out that older woman is his mother.
"You look way too serious for a Saturday morning." Edward's voice is low and scratchy, and feeling his warm breath on my bare shoulder ensures my body is fully awake.
"I'm just thinking about… things."
"Anything I can help with?" He kisses my shoulder.
"Is it something I can distract you from?" His finger travels across my collarbone before moving lower and circling my nipple.
"Absolutely." I sigh and stretch my arms over my head before sinking my fingers into Edward's thick hair. His mouth replaces his finger on my breast while his hand travels down my body, teasing… opening… exploring until every inch of me is burning, aching with need.
"Now, Edward." My voice is soft and raspy, but my message is clear. Edward wastes no time settling between my legs and pushing inside me. My body naturally welcomes him like he's meant to be there, but even after two months, I still gasp at the fullness I feel.
Hot air lands below my ear as he grunts with every slow thrust, and I wrap my arms and legs around him, never wanting to let him go.
"Mmm… you fuck me so good," I say as a moan escapes my mouth. I feel his laughter on my skin just before he bites it, and I swear, the sensation goes right to my clit.
I don't have to elaborate because he knows. He knows my body better than I do, and he knows exactly how to make me scream out his name, which I'm about five seconds away from doing.
His hand finds my lower back and lifts my pelvis up at an angle, allowing him to hit that magical spot inside as he pounds harder and faster. I'm trembling, my fingers digging into his back, trying to ground myself because I'm not ready to fly…not without him. When his mouth captures my nipple and sucks hard, I lose all control. I don't fly, though. I fucking soar. Wave after wave of pure pleasure ripple through me, and soon, Edward is calling my name as his movements go from sporadic to completely still.
We don't move. We stay wrapped around each other, perfectly joined, until our breathing is back to normal. Even then, it takes Edward a few minutes to pull out of me, both of us hating the separation.
"You were quite chatty this time," Edward says with a laugh. He kisses my fingers and looks at me, waiting for my reaction because he knows. He knows I'm only like that with him.
"I can't help it. You make me loud and impatient."
"You make me feel… amazing. Powerful… weightless… electric… invincible…" I stop myself before I say too much. It's way too soon for that. The way he's looking at me, though, makes me feel like he knows that, too. And that he feels the same.
Instead of confessing, he simply says, "Me too," before kissing me silly, and it's enough.
"Hey, Mom." Garrett rushes into the kitchen and places a sloppy kiss on my cheek before grabbing a bottle of water out of the refrigerator.
"Where's the fire?" I ask, laughing. I put down the knife in my hand and try to discreetly rub off the moisture left behind by his mouth.
"Are you wiping off my kiss? Mom, I'm wounded."
"I'm not wiping it off. I'm rubbing it in. See?" I make a show of moving my hand in a circular motion on the side of my face.
Garrett laughs and rolls his eyes.
"What are your plans for tonight? Studying? Hot date?" I pick my knife back up and resume cutting the vegetables in front of me.
"Nah, I think me and the guys are going to see a movie, maybe have a beer somewhere."
A pang of guilt hits me in the gut. I already know his plans because Edward told me they were going out before he left this morning. Have I mentioned how much I hate lying to my son?
"That sounds fun. I'm glad you've made such great friends this semester."
"Yeah, me too." He grabs a slice of bell pepper from the cutting board before completely catching me off guard. "Hey, Mom? Why don't you ever date?"
"Oh… um… I date… sometimes. Why?"
Garrett shrugs his shoulders. "I don't like you being here all by yourself. Besides, you're an attractive, smart woman that any man would be lucky to be with."
"That's very sweet of you to say, but I promise I'm fine. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll find someone who can keep up with me." I smile, then turn and wash my knife in the sink, hoping Garrett doesn't see the dishonesty I feel covering my face. Once I've regained my composure, I face him again. "Thanksgiving is next week. Anyone you want to invite over?"
"I was thinking about asking Edward."
My eyes fly to his in shock. Of course, I want Edward here for the holiday, but I'd much rather he be here as my guest, not Garrett's.
"And his dad, too," he continues. A slight blush creeps onto his cheeks, and realization dawns.
"Garrett Michael Swan, are you trying to set me up with Carlisle?"
When his blush deepens, I have my answer.
"Son, I appreciate your concern for me, really I do, but I'm not interested in Carlisle. I tried to be a while back, but he's just not my type. Besides, I heard through the grapevine that he's seeing a lady named Esme now."
Carlisle never confronted me after learning about the first night Edward spent at my house. In fact, he hasn't looked my way once these last two months. If it's put a strain on his relationship with Edward, I wouldn't know. Edward really doesn't talk about Carlisle much. He wasn't even the one who told me about Esme. It was Alice.
There are times when I internally berate myself for being with Edward. Times like now, when I focus on the lies I tell Garrett and the problems I could potentially cause between Edward and his dad. But then I remember how good Edward is—both inside and out—and how happy he makes me, and I tell myself, "screw the haters".
Inspiration hits, and I decide now is the time to tell Garrett the truth. I don't want to ruin his night out with his friends, but I don't think I can keep my news inside any longer.
"Hey, Garrett, listen. There's something I've been—"
The text alert on his phone interrupts, and he looks at me apologetically. "Sorry, Mom. I gotta go. We'll talk later, okay?"
I smile while walking to him and kiss his cheek. "Of course. Go have fun, but be careful."
"Yes, ma'am. Good night."
I eat my dinner out on the patio before curling up with the book I'm currently reading. When I start to nod off, I force myself to bed, vowing to finish my chat with Garrett tomorrow.
Hours later, I'm pulled from a deep sleep when I feel my bed dip behind me. A strong arm drapes across my stomach and pulls me close as lips find my head, ear, cheek, then neck. A breathy sigh escapes my lips, thrilled Edward is here with me, right before I remember he was just out with Garrett.
I quickly sit up, nearly elbowing him in the eye. "Edward! What are you doing here? I thought you were out with Garrett."
"I was." He yawns, looking so fucking adorable, I could just eat him up. I might do it too, after he explains himself. "I told the guys I was heading home early, so I left and came straight here."
"I can't believe you drove all the way out here this late at night—or early this morning, I should say." Even though I'm fussing, I'm also ecstatic that he left his friends to come be with me. I'm so smitten with this guy, it's ridiculous.
Edward pulls me down so that my head rests on his chest and wraps his arms around me. I nuzzle my face into his bare skin and breathe him in.
"I missed you. I don't like sleeping without you anymore."
My heart soars at his confession because I feel the same.
"I've decided to tell Garrett about us tomorrow."
His hand lifts my chin up so that our lips can meet, immediately sliding his tongue inside my mouth. When he pulls away, I'm breathless in the best possible way. "Fucking finally," he whispers before kissing me again and rolling on top of me.
I'll never tire of waking up in Edward's arms. Lately, I've been thinking about getting an apartment in the city so that we can see each other more, but I know that can't—or shouldn't—happen until Garrett knows about us and is okay with our relationship. Today will hopefully be a step in the right direction, even though I'm not naive enough to think he will be happy with our news for quite a while.
Stretching my body, I revel in the way I'm sore in all the right places. Every time Edward and I have sex, it's amazing, but last night was different. It was… more intense… more passionate… more making love than fucking. It felt like he was truly claiming me, and I welcomed it completely.
Damn, just thinking about it makes me wet.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to taste him last night, but I think I may remedy that right now. My eyes scan down his glorious body and land on my prize. His thick cock is tenting the sheets and I take it as an invitation to wrap my lips around it.
I remember reading an article years ago, explaining how men and women reach their sexual peaks at different times. For men, it's when they're in their early twenties, and for women, their forties. I should find the author of that article or whoever did the research for it and send them a fruit basket or something because they were so right. I've always enjoyed sex, but I've never felt this comfortable in my own sexuality before. It's empowering, and I have no plans to turn back now.
Licking my lips, I slowly lift the sheet off his body and scoot down to the foot of the bed. When my mouth makes contact with his cock, I hear Edward hiss as his hands find my hair. I'm shocked to see he's not awake when I glance at his face. His full lips are parted, and his breath is coming out in short pants, but it's the look on his face that practically makes me orgasm. He looks completely blissed out, and I love that I'm making him look and feel that way.
I continue to watch him, his features alternating between smooth and relaxed to eager and impatient. He begins to thrust inside my mouth, so I cup his balls firmly, causing his eyes to pop open.
"Holy shit! I thought I was dreaming," he gasps. I laugh with him still in my mouth, and the vibrations only push him closer to the edge. His grip on my head tightens as hot, filthy words spill from his mouth, so I carefully scrape my teeth across his delicate skin, causing him to finally lose control.
Never has he been so loud during an orgasm, and I mentally high-five myself for a job well done.
"Oh, my god, Bella. I love you so fucking much!"
Even though most of Edward's spunk is completely down my throat by now, I still do a small spit take, which I thankfully manage to cover up with a very sexy coughing fit.
Please don't let his jizz shoot out of my nose.
I'm about to ask Edward to repeat himself when my bedroom door flies open, and a booming voice beats me to it.
"What the fuck did you just say?!"
This was not how I wanted to tell him about me and Edward.
Someone shoot me now.
Edward springs into action and covers my naked body with the sheet before speaking.
"Garrett, calm down, man. Everything's fine. We were going to tell you today, I swear."
"Tell me what, exactly? That you've been screwing my mom behind my back?" Garrett turns to me. "Mom, what the hell is going on? How could you do this to me?"
My eyes fill with tears as I look at my son. He's the most important person in my life, and I've hurt him so deeply. I don't know if he'll ever be able to forgive me.
"Garrett, I'm so sorry you found out this way, but Edward's telling the truth. I was planning on telling you today that we've been seeing each other."
"Since the week before you started school."
"You mean, when you were telling me about the hot mom you were banging, you were talking about my mom?!" Garrett steps closer to Edward with his fists clenched tightly.
Edward immediately holds his hands up in defense. "Yes, I was talking about Bella. I was trying to feel you out, see how you'd react to me being with an older woman. If I remember correctly, you were all for it. Patting me on the back and shit. Ring any bells?"
"That's because I didn't know it was my mom!" Garrett roars.
I'm completely frozen watching their exchange. It warms my heart to see how protective of me Garrett is but I'm also amazed by how calm and logical Edward is right now. And the fact he said "we" were going to tell Garrett today? Yeah, I'm in love.
"Listen, by the time I'd met you, I'd already fallen for her, and I wasn't about to let that go. I know this is difficult right now, but I really hope—we hope—that you'll be able to accept us one day."
Edward looks at me, and I smile through my tears. I grab his hand, then look up at my son, but he's already made up his mind.
"Fuck this," he mutters before storming out of the room, down the hall, and out the front door.
Worst. Week. Ever.
I don't know how I would've survived without Edward, Rose, and Alice to distract me from how sad I've been. Instead of our usual yoga class, my girls took me to lunches, where the emphasis was more on drinking than eating while Edward made slow, sweet love to me in the evenings. I keep telling him he doesn't have to drive from the city to the island every night, but he seems to be serious in his quest to never spend another night away from me.
Not that I'm complaining.
We haven't addressed his blurted confession the night Garrett found us together, but that's okay. We have all the time in the world.
Garrett hasn't spoken to me since he walked out of the house last week, and I hate how angry he is with me. I know I need to give him time to settle down before we can speak calmly, but I honestly thought we'd be there by now.
Yesterday, my heart was filled with joy when I received a text from him saying he'll be here for Thanksgiving dinner. That joy quickly changed to panic when I realized Thanksgiving is today, and I now have a shit load of cooking to do. Before I'd heard from Garrett, I was just going to skip the holiday. No sense in cooking a turkey just for me. But shortly after Garrett's text, I'd received similar texts from Alice and Jasper and Rose and Emmett, saying they were coming over as well. Nothing surprised me more than Edward telling me that he, Carlisle, and Esme would also be here.
So, here I am in the kitchen, cooking my ass off for what will be the world's most awkward Thanksgiving meal ever.
After a mad dash to the grocery store last night, I have everything I need to fix dinner. Because I waited until the last minute, the best I could do for a turkey was buy the few breasts that were left over. I'm also making a few sides, though, while Alice brings dessert, leaving Rose in charge of the wine. Hopefully, she brings a lot.
If I haven't mentioned it before, my girls are the best friends in the world. I told everyone to arrive at six, so I was more than pleased when they ignored my request and showed up at four instead.
With their husbands settled in front of the TV watching football, we make our way to the patio with our wines glasses full.
"Still haven't heard from Garrett?" Rose asks.
"No. I don't know what to expect when he gets here, but I just need to know that he's okay."
Alice chimes in. "You've done an amazing job raising him, Bella. He'll be okay, and so will you and Edward. I just know it."
"I hope you're right," I say before draining my glass.
When Carlisle and Esme arrive two hours later, it's only a little uncomfortable because Edward hasn't shown up yet. I'm sure the bottle of wine I single-handedly polished off is helping to alleviate the awkwardness, though.
Esme seems very nice, and it's obvious she really likes Carlisle. This makes me happy because he really is a great guy and deserves to be with someone who truly cares for him. He's still having a hard time looking me in the eyes, unfortunately, and I'm about to call him out on it when Edward finally walks into the house.
The relieved smile on my face fades when I see his left eye is red and swollen. I rush to him, gently touching his cheek. "What happened? Who did this to you?"
He gives me a sheepish grin and jerks his head toward the front door just as Garrett enters… with his own left eye looking exactly like Edward's.
"Hey, Mom," Garrett quietly greets me, and I immediately pull him into a hug.
"I was so worried about you. Don't you ever do that to me again," I scold him before kissing his cheek and hugging him again. Catching him off guard, I smack him on the back of his head and turn and pinch Edward on the ass. "Let me get some ice for your eyes, you stupid jerks."
Garrett takes his ice pack and joins the other guests in the living room, but I tug on Edward's shirt to make him stay with me in the kitchen.
"So, you two fought, huh?"
"He doesn't like the fact I'm dating you, and I thought he was being a self-centered prick. We did what guys do and spoke with our fists. No big deal."
I once admired his calmness; now it's starting to piss me off.
"It is a big deal, Edward! You're both hurt, and you could've gotten in trouble."
He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me to him before kissing me softly. "It wasn't that bad, I swear. It's not like we were rolling around on the ground fighting. We each let the other get a hit in, and we moved on."
"You mean you just stood there and let him punch you, and then he did the same?"
"Yep, and then we downed a shot of whiskey and had a beer together." His smile is full of pride, and it makes me roll my eyes at him.
"Does that mean he's okay? Is he okay with us?"
"Well, I think it still weirds him out a bit, but he'll get used to it."
"Thank you, Edward."
"For being so amazing and being there for me and for Garrett. It means more than you know."
Edward pulls me flush against his body and kisses me. I was afraid that his face would be sore and he'd want to go slowly, but the way his tongue just plunged into my mouth tells me he's just fine.
"Are you kidding me? You two are like a couple of horny teenagers!" Garrett shields his eyes with his hand while tossing his used ice pack in the sink. He doesn't look at us as he grabs a bottle of water from the refrigerator, but he does manage to shove Edward's shoulder. "Show some respect, ass."
"Dude, I'm dating your mom and I'm your Big Brother in the frat. You need to show me some respect."
Garrett walks out of the kitchen with his middle finger held high, causing Edward and me to laugh.
It's a start, I guess.
Once we're all seated at the dining table and our plates are full of food, things start feeling a little bit more normal. Emmett keeps us laughing with his crazy stories, and Alice and Jasper announce that they're getting their first puppy together. It's a big deal, they assure us, because the next step after the puppy is getting pregnant. They're so dramatic, but they're cute. I feel a twinge of sadness, though, when I think about Edward wanting a family of his own. My baby-making days are over, and I'd never want him to sacrifice his desire for children just to be with me. It's a hurdle we'll have to cross eventually, so I put it out of my mind and try to focus on the here and now.
Our plates are now empty, but the wine and beer are still freely flowing, so no one makes an effort to leave the table. After Garrett grosses us out with his story about swallowing a live goldfish at a frat party a couple of weeks ago, Carlisle clears his throat to get our attention.
"I just want to apologize to my son, Edward, and to you, Bella, for not being so… accepting of your new relationship. I've had all kinds of doubts and questions for the two of you, but after spending the evening with you both, I don't anymore. I see the way you look at each other, the way you treat each other, and it's beautiful. I'm very happy you've found each other."
Edward thanks his dad, and I'm finally able to relax completely. This dinner was actually pretty great, and by the looks of things, we may have just started a new tradition.
It's late by the time everyone has gone home and the kitchen is clean. With a warning that sounds more like a plea for us to "keep it down this time", Garrett goes to his room while Edward and I head for my bedroom.
We're both exhausted and a little tipsy, so after changing clothes and washing my face, I slip under the covers, barely able to keep my eyes open. When Edward climbs in bed, he has a very serious look on his face, one that causes me to sit up, completely awake now.
"I love you."
I let out a relieved breath and cover my pounding heart with my hand. "You had me worried for a second there."
"I mean it, Bella. I love you, and I'm so fucking sorry I blurted it out the way I did the other day." Gah, he's so adorable.
"Edward, it's fine, really. I didn't bring it up because I knew you were embarrassed, and I didn't want to push you if you weren't ready to say it again."
"I've been ready, but I've been biting my tongue because I was afraid I'd scare you off or worse, that you wouldn't believe me. But yelling it out like that after you gave me a blow job?" He shakes his head in shame. "You deserve better than that, and I'm sorry the first time I said it happened the way it did."
"Well, I'm not." I scoot closer to him and straddle his lap. "It was said in a moment of passion. Whether you said it because of the fuckawesome blow job I gave you or because you were ready to make that particular declaration openly and honestly, I know you meant it. And, guess what. I love you, too."
I laugh when I see him blush, and I fall even more in love with him. "I was even thinking about getting an apartment in the city. What do you think about that?"
"I fucking love that idea, but don't get rid of this house. We'll still need a place to go on the weekends to get away from all those annoying students."
"Very true. Now, make love to me, dammit."
"Yes, ma'am," he murmurs before kissing me passionately.
We spend the rest of the night wrapped in each other's arms, totally not caring when Garrett turns up his music to drown us out.
