This is a little drabble I wrote on Derpibooru as Background Pony #4A08. "Key to My Love" was inspired by "Key to My Heart" a picture made by Karma Dash. For all you MacDash supporters, I suggest you check out her artwork on DeviantArt and Derpibooru; it's very good.

[Key to My Love]

A few days after Big Macintosh showed her his "new cutie mark", Rainbow Dash decided to let him know how much he meant to her. The only problem was the she didn't know what he liked. Sure he was an apple and so he would always have a soft spot for apples, but what else did he like? There had to be something else besides apples and her.

But wait. She wasn't the romantic type or at least she thought. She always enjoyed the thought of finding that special stallion and taking him out for a picnic under the night sky or even going to a Wonderbolts show and then be treated to a nice dinner afterwards. Or maybe even having a relaxing day at the beach. But that didn't make her a romantic. She was sure some other ponies had much better thoughts and plans. She was/is Rainbow Dash, and she only did cool and awesome things.

But then that just brought back the question: what would show him just how much she liked him?

A Sonic Rainboom! No, that wouldn't be it. It would definitely amaze him, but she didn't feel like doing any stunts right now. It was odd, but she wanted to do something normal ponies did even if she was above normal. She wasn't going to get him anything that related to flying or stunts. She might crash the day she showed him, and that would be very embarrassing.

Wait! Rainbow had remembered something Rarity was talking about a few days earlier. She recalled Rarity saying that blah blah blah…key to your heart…blah blah blah. For some reason, that middle phrase was the only thing that got through Dash.

So she had looked all over the place, all over Equestria (not really), to find the key that would mean express a million words at one. She searched high and low, looked left and right, but she didn't find anything worthwhile. That is until she ran into "the one". It was a golden key with a cloud-like structure for a tip. She didn't know why, but she thought he would definitely like it. So she bought and arrived at Sweet Apple Acres.

She stood before the gentle giant with the symbol of love in her mouth. She watched as the big stallion looked down with interest and opened his mouth to say something. In that moment, Dash closed her eyes and bowed a bit as she whispered "this is the key to my heart; I want you to have it".

Big Macintosh smiled.

Author Note: This was written 4 months before my writing improved. It was written in a very short period of time, I'd say around 10 minutes, and it was actually just intended for the artist to read. A fun little story on my interpretation of her drawing.

This is the sequel to New Cute Mark, the fourth chapter of The Red and Blue Corpus.

Long live MacDash!
