Emma wakes up at a quarter to 11:00 am. She walks downstairs rubbing her eyes sleepily.
"Mommy?" Emma called out
"I've in the sun room, baby." Prue responded to her daughter
Emma ran to the sun room (aka the conservatory) and climbed onto her mommy's lap.
"Mommy, what time is it?" Emma asked
Prue checked the time, "It's 10:50 am, sweetheart."
Emma furrowed her eyebrows, "Mommy, don't you have work? And mommy, I have school."
"I'm taking the day off and I called your teacher already." Prue explained "I thought that today we could just spend some time together. What do you think, baby girl?"
Emma nodded and smiled, "I love being with you, mommy. I wish you never had to work."
"Well I love spending time with my little munchkin too." Prue replied as she kissed the top of her daughter's head. It was true that Prue loved spending time with her daughter, but the truth about what she was keeping the little girl home from school was to see if Emma really did have magic.
"So what are we going to do today, mommy?" Emma wondered
Prue thought for a moment, "Well...we can do whatever you would like, princess."
"Can we play with my barbie dolls and their castle, mommy?" Emma asked with big puppy dog eyes
Prue smiled and tickled her daughter's sides gently, "Of course we can, silly goose, but first let's get some food in that cute little belly of yours."
"Okay mommy." Emma agreed as she giggled "I love you, mommy."
"I love you more, baby girl." Prue replied as she carried her daughter to the kitchen "What would you like to eat?"
Emma thought, "Do we have anymore of Auntie Pipa's pancakes leftover?"
"I think we may have a few left that I can heat up for you." Prue told her daughter
Emma smiled brightly, "Yay! Thanks mommy."
"You're welcome, baby girl." Prue replied as she placed three of the pancakes on a plate and put it in the microwave to heat them up.
Emma looked at the plate, then looked up at her mother. Then back at the plate and then back at her mother, before finally speaking, "Mommy?"
"Yes baby?" Prue answered while making a cup of coffee.
"You forgot to cut my pancakes." Emma half whined
Prue turned to face her daughter, "Why don't you try to cut them. If you really can't I will do it for you."
Emma pouted, "But mommy, I can't. It's too hard."
"It's not that hard, sweetie." Prue responded as she shook her head "I know you can do it, my big girl."
Emma started to cry as she threw her fork on the floor, "Mommy, I can't do it! Cut. My. Pancakes."
"Emma! You don't get to throw a tantrum when you don't get your way." Prue scolded "Do you want a time out?"
Emma shook her head through her tears, "No mommy."
"Okay pick up your fork and then apologize." Prue said firm, but calm.
Emma nodded and picked up her fork, then she hugged her mother, "I'm sorry, mommy."
Prue hugged her daughter back, "You're forgiven, little bug. And I have no problem cutting your pancakes, but you at least need to attempt it. Can you do that for mommy? Please?"
"I guess." Emma replied with a shrug of her shoulders as she picked up her fork and knife to cut her pancakes.
As Emma attempted to cut her pancakes, she sulked and pouted.
Prue smiled and shook her head as she turned back to the coffee pot and poured herself a cup of coffee. A few minutes later, she heard an excited scream.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look! I did it!" Emma exclaimed excitedly "I cut my pancakes all by myself."
Prue turned to her daughter, "See! I knew you could do it, my big girl." Little did she know, Emma had used magic to cut her pancakes.
"I'm not too big, mommy. I'm still little." Emma stated
Prue nodded and laughed slightly, "Yes, baby, you are still little." Then she kissed Emma's cheek profusively, "My little bug."
Emma giggled, "Mommy! Mommy! Stop!"
"Alright eat up, little bug. I love you." Prue told her daughter
"I love you too, mommy." Emma replied before starting to eat her pancakes
After breakfast Prue cleans up the kitchen, while Emma heads upstairs to set up her barbies and the barbie castle as she waits for her mommy to come play with her.
Emma tries to grab the barbie castle off of the bookshelf, but it's a little too big to grab in her tiny arms and hands. Emma sighs defeatedly, "I wish I could move this."
The barbie castle suddenly levitated off the shelf and onto the ground as Emma concentrated with all the might of her mind to move it.
Prue had appeared in the doorway as Emma was magically moving the barbie castle. Her mouth dropped open in shock for a moment before she spoke, "Emma, honey, how'd you do that?"
Emma shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know. I just thought with my mind. I did the same when I cut my pancakes."
Prue gave a nod, "Okay well are you ready to play?"
"Yes mommy." Emma replied with a profound nod
Prue sat down and played with her daughter as she thought about how to tell Phoebe and Piper that their niece has powers.
