"~Dear future husband, here's a few things you'll need to know, if you wanna be my one and only all my life,~" A woman's voice cooed in tune, her magenta hair flowing behind her as she sorted through a rack of clothing in a store.
The man next to her raised a brow in question as he lifted a pink sundress off of the rack, "What are you singing, Jess?"
"Da dumb song on da radio," Their cat piped in, trying to reach a hanging scarf.
"No kidding, Meowth," He rolled his eyes and flicked a stray piece of his lilac hair out of the way.
"It's Dear Future Husband!" She beamed as she pulled a jeweled ring off of the display. "That reminds me, we should be a married couple today. We haven't done that disguise in a while."
Freezing from fear of the word marriage, James just stared at the cheap five dollar ring, stuttering, "M-married?"
"Ya already act da part anyway" Glare attacks from the two humans were shot at the poor cat Pokemon… It's super effective.
Collecting her cool, Jessie reiterated, "It's only for today, James. It's not like we are married," She paused for a second and whispered under her breathe, daydreaming, "I wonder what it would be like, though."
Hearing her thought, James couldn't help but daydream himself.
"Jessie, I'm home darling!" James said as he walked through the front door of his house and hung his jacket on the hanger.
Meeting him by the door, Jessie walked out in a fuzzy pink robe. Grabbing his cheek she greeted him with a friendly peck on his lips.
"What did you buy me today?" She looked at him in anticipation.
"Umm, I didn't get a chance to. I left work late and I didn't want to come home even later," He explained, fiddling with his collar nervously.
She narrowed her eyes, "James, you're so stupid! Why did I even marry you in the first place? For that mistake, you're cooking dinner and cleaning the entire house single-handedly!"
"What?! But, Jess-" He started, but was cut off.
"No excuses just do it!" She crossed her arms as he walked to the kitchen to get a head start on dinner. "One more thing; what am I?"
Sulking, he replied, "Beautiful, honey,"
"And?" She pressed.
"And I love you very much," He answered.
Smiling from ear to ear she echoed, "Good boy. I love you too!"
"NO! THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE!" James shouted at his realization.
Shocking Jessie out of her own fantasy, she retaliated, "What do you mean terrible?!"
"Uh… nothing," He said, panicking.
"It better be. Now come on! The twerps will be here before we know it!" She yelled grabbing several dresses while heading toward the dressing room.
"Coming, dear!" He managed as he grabbed a few more outfits right behind her.
Staring at his two companions with a puzzled expression on his face, the scratch cat Pokemon muttered, "I don't undahstand humans…"
Authors Note: This song has been stuck in my head for the past few days! It's so catchy! In case you don't know, this drabble was inspired by the song is Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor. I know it has got reviews of it being sexist but I don't think so. The lyrics may depict needy woman, but also one who wants to be in charge of her man. I don't necessarily agree on the message, but it reminded me of Team Rocket and how Jessie is basically the leader of the trio and demanding. I couldn't help but write it! I hope you liked it. Leave a review if you please~
Ps. Disclaimer: I do not own the song or Pokemon.
