Hello everyone:

OK so this has been a long time coming but I'm just here to make it official and just flat out say it.

I won't be posting on anymore.

Frankly, I haven't *been* posting on this site for years even though I'm still very much active on other sites. I've tried to come back to this site several times; it was the first site I ever posted *anything* at all online and for that I'll always be grateful for it introducing me to the hobby that'll likely stay with me for the rest of my life.

But the sad reality is this site has very much been abandoned by its absentee landlords/owners.

There is almost no way to really communicate properly with your community/readers. There's no way for readers to debate amongst themselves certain themes in stories that they might pick up on, no way to answer common questions without posting an AN in the middle of the chapter count giving everyone a heart attack. Readers can only leave one comment per chapter. There's no site moderation to stop those who get their kicks out of harassing stories or authors they don't like; there's no way to post links to other sites or apps like discord where some of these issues might be mitigated.

Its just a site running on the impetus of its own fame as the original and biggest hub for this kind of thing and not really implementing any of the major innovations or improvements other sites have devised over several decades and its just not as fun to post here because of that.

So sadly I'm just going to rip off the bandaid and state that I'm leaving . If I get word that things improve/actual development starts again on the site I'll be happy to come back and give it a shot but for now there are simply better options.

To those readers of mine who I left "hanging" here on for so long (who likely thought I'd just up and quit) I apologise. I suppose a part of me hoped the site would get 'better' or that I'd just crosspost and be fine with it but I ultimately wasn't and I should have ripped off the bandaid a long time ago rather than leave any of you here thinking all these stories you enjoyed and supported had been abandoned.

The only brightside I can find/think of to offer as a condolence/apology is that now you have plenty of reading material to catch up on and enjoy in these other sites.

For all of the other fics posted here, they will *remain* here. I won't be deleting them. So if you like reading those older fics here, you may continue to do that.

I'm sorry again but I hope you all join me on any of these other websites that might suit your particular tastes.
