Theme challenge: Hand in hand.

The story:

"I'm really sorry, my Lord. I've made a mistake in power controlling…" Nephrite said regretfully while Jadeite could breathe again for the accident. The short-haired general-in-training looked at his auburn-haired fellow before saying: "Fortunately enough you are both all right." Nephrite put out his hand to help Zoisite who fell down on the floor because of his mistake a few minutes ago, but their trainer Kunzite acted much faster.

The highest-ranked general said nothing but only nodded at Nephrite while holding Zoisite's hand in his own. The training of them was obviously much more tough and even, if necessary, crueler than that for ordinary soldiers or guardians, since they were excepted to be the royal guardians of the prince. It was far less than unusual to have one or more of them hurt, not to mention Zoisite was the youngest trainee. Nephrite acted a little over control, and Zoisite was lack of experience. Luckily he was agile enough to protect himself. That delicate boy fell but fortunately not really hurt…

Kunzite didn't notice his paying too much attention to Zoisite. More than required. He was so anxious about the youngest one than he had not realized that he was still holding the emerald-eyed boy's hand until Zoisite tried to pull his own hand from his mentor.

Those fingers are really slender…and could it be the magic that makes Zoisite a charming and gifted pianist? A thought suddenly appeared into Kunzite's mind. Before he could notice Kunzite felt his hand empty. So was his mind in a moment. However his realized an instant of blush flew through the boy's face. Kunzite felt a sense of unexpected joy for his discovery, and he made up his mind immediately.

It might be the bravest and most impulse decision he had ever made, from his born until now. Thought Kunzite. Yet that fact would not make him change his mind. He clenched his hand for a quick reliving before asking the three general-to-be to go on training with a steady voice.

Nephrite and Jadeite left after finishing the day, while Kunzite asked Zoisite to stay. Zoisite was confused, he gave the silver-haired man a puzzled stare, unable to hide some special emotion caused by staying with Kunzite in a room alone.

Before practicing his project Kunzite thought that he might be as nervous or exciting as a random lovesick lad. However, when he decided he felt calm. He held Zoisite's hand before the younger one could react.

It was more shocking than scary to Zoisite. The boy pulled his hand naturally, but hesitated at once. He tried to free himself slightly, but soon he held the silver-haired general's hand back.

Kunzite smiled from the bottom of his heart when noticed the reaction of his beloved one. He stepped closer to Zoisite with the words: "I have given you chance to escape, Zoisite. And if you hadn't accepted that…" He bent to the ear of the younger one to whisper, "There will never be a second chance. Because…" His voice became deeper, "I will never let you go."

The silver-haired man and the copper-ponytailed boy wandered in the royal garden of Elysium Kingdom hand in hand. A smile escaped his lips before his awareness. Destiny was never what mattered. Wherever they were going, it was Zoisite whom he was holding in hand, and that was the only thing that made sense.
