!Authors Note!

Hello Everyone! Starshine here!

I know it's been quite a while since you've heard from me (unless you follow my profile on Ao3 where I recently updated a smaller story), so I wanted to reach out.

For those of you who do follow my Ao3 profile and saw my update on 'A Fangirl's Job', you may have read the author's note that spoke a bit about my situation. For the last couple of years, I have been struggling to write. I love writing, it's one of my go-to destressers, but recently I have been unable to write. My muse packed up and walked out on me, leaving my flailing amid a sea of unfinished works. These last couple of years I have struggled to make progress on any of my stories, let alone 'This Gonna Be Good'. For the longest time, I couldn't even find the mental strength to reread my works. New ideas would pop up but I would get discouraged before I could even outline them. I was stuck creatively and the thought that so many of you were waiting for an update made me worried I would disappoint you all after so long away. So worried, in fact, that I made sure to cut all contact with you guys, knowing I would only feel guilty for talking to you when I should have been trying to write past my mental block.

All that being said, I have been working on my mental health lately and you'll be happy to know that I've picked up writing again!

As I said above, I recently updated a smaller story of mine to kind of test myself and found I still got that rush from posting a chapter, even knowing that the wait would have driven some people away. I have been going over a lot of my WIPs and have been tentatively writing out some of my outlines into full chapters.

Most importantly (for you guys at least), I have started to go over "This Gonna Be Good' again! I started rereading the story to see if I was ready to pick it back up and was pleasantly surprised to find some of my old ideas flowing back! I will be spending the next couple of days proofreading and, potentially, reworking some of the old chapters before jumping back into writing where I left off. Hopefully, with an improved mental attitude, I will be able to continue my writing and give you guys the content you deserve.
