The Greengrass sisters had established a cautious peace. Astoria and Daphne had gone there seperate ways, The had been no active attempt to antagonise the other.

The letter, therefore, came as a suprise to Astoria. She had found it stuck to her desk. It ordered her to come by Daphne's room after dinner. Astoria for all her bluster was too scared of Daphne to disobey.

Thus, Astoria found herself being ushered into Daphne's Room late that night. The room was immaculate yet bare, perfect without any sign of personality.

Daphne had offered her a seat while she herself sat on the desk. Silence reigned for a minutes, Astoria staring at her feet avoiding Daphne's probing stare.

Daphne spoke in a monotone "As you are not part of the Greengrass clan. My duty and responsibilities to protect you has ended, The next time you get in trouble, Do not expect any assistance in a any format from me."

Daphne had been prepared for a Outburst of anger from the girl; There had been a flicker of the anger and pain in her eyes but it was extinguished quickly and then She smiled. The smile was bitter and melancholy.

" I suppose, I have become a liability to you."

Daphne ignored her, She would have loved to enlighten this arrogant girl what her existence had wrought on the family, but father jad specifically forbaid her from revealing why they had picked a side in the war this quickly, so she changed the subject.

"Your brother, was caught training his pathetic band of idiots by the inquisitorial squad. His Girlfriend's Best Friend snitched on them."

Astoria didn't answer, She was lost in her thoughts, probably trying to come up with something overly melodramatic which would have no effect on her.

"Do you remember, Daphne, the year before you left for hogwarts, There was a thunder storm and I had gotten scared and sneaked into your room. You had held me untill I fell asleep."

Daphne did remember that night but wasn't letting Astoria know that. She decided to stay silent and observe Astoria's rant.

" It was one of my happiest memories, It was proof that you cared for me once but you were just doing your duty weren't you? I am done with you."

Daphne snorted but didn't say anything.

Astoria left and Daphne was unconcerned, Astoria would in due time come crawling back to her, They had always had this one sided fights were Astoria would make a dramatic exit.

Daphne didn't realise that this fight was different, She had competition she never had before.
