Dear Readers

This is a long overdue notice that I have officially abandoned this work. I still get PMs occasionally asking me about the status of WotE, so I figured it was time. I hate to be that guy who starts a story and fails to finish it, but unfortunately I just don't have the ability to continue. To be perfectly honest, no matter how willing I am to take up the story again, I just don't have the ability to do so. There were so many threads/sub-plots that needed to be resolved and I've forgotten much of the lore behind these characters and events. I no longer have the storyboard that I created for this fic, which is even more crippling.

Here are some of the plot points that I intended to use to finish this story:

* One final space battle would take place between Luke's forces and Imperial forces unwilling to bend the knee. This would have taken place over Coruscant, Byss, or some other major Imperial stronghold that wasn't aligned with Luke. Thrawn would use this opportunity to shine as the badass he is.

* Luke would be coronated as Emperor

* Luke would found the Imperial Knights (force users that acted as agents of the Emperor and also served as a check by swearing to remove the Emperor from office should the Emperor fall to the Dark Side)

* Mara would leave Luke on relatively good terms to make her way in the universe on her own terms. She would've kissed him on the cheek and implied that there may be a future for them once she's figured her shit out.

* The New Republic would be established with the galaxy divided between it and the Empire (like a two state solution)

* The New Republic would sign a peace treaty with the Empire with the understanding that the position of the Emperor would be gradually weakened. The endgame would be for the Empire to become something of a constitutional monarchy at which point the New Republic would consider an even closer relationship.

* Leia would go on to found the new Jedi Order and would act as an ambassador between the New Republic and the Empire. The exact nature of her relationship with Luke and Vader would never be disclosed. Luke would be sad about this :(

* The Noghri will be Noghri and would Noghri all of Luke's political enemies to death.

I hope everyone enjoyed this story and I desperately wish I'd been able to conclude it.

On a side note, I re-read a chapter I posted some time ago where I expressed my dissatisfaction with the production of the Andor series. Wow, I was super wrong about that. In terms of quality, I think Andor might be the best new Star Wars content out there.
