I'm trying something new; I don't know how this will work out. I'm just writing this to express the sweet older brother side of Seto, the one who loves Mokuba more than life itself. The setting would be after Duelist Kingdom and about the middle of Battle City. Just to restate the obvious, I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh.

A small boy of about ten walked down a long corridor. His raven black hair fell down

his back. He shivered from the cold, but also from fear. Tears gathered at the corner of

his clear eyes. Obviously, this young boy knew suffering. He neared a pair of large oak

doors. They would have intimidated some, but to him they meant safety and comfort.

He opened one soundlessly and crept inside. The room was dark, but he knew how to

navigate its large interior. He stood next to the bed. The silk hangings fell over the

polished edge.

"Seto?" the boy said, tugging the blanket. The sleeping figure moved.

"Yes?" the voice came from under the blankets. Many people awoken at four o'clock in

the morning would be impatient, but not Seto. He slowly sat up to meet his little

brother's eyes.

"I had a really bad dream," the younger boy said, his voice cracking from withheld tears.

Seto gave his brother a concerned look and patted the place on the bed next to him.

Mokuba climbed up.

"It was about the Duelist Kingdom. I was in the shadow realm. It was dark and I kept

hearing screams. Blood was everywhere and Pegasus was laughing. I saw you and ran

towards you, but I couldn't move. You were always one step further away," Mokuba

crawled towards his older brother and hugged him tightly. He tried so hard to be brave,

but the tears came anyway. He cried into Seto's shoulder. Seto held him tightly.

"That was a worse experience than anyone should have to bear. Especially someone as

young as you. I curse Pegasus' sick mind for putting you through that," Seto said,

passionately. He held Mokuba as he had many times before. As he had when Mokuba

cried for his parents. As he had at the orphanage when the boys made fun of him and

teased him.

"Will I always be able to talk to you, Seto?" Mokuba asked, looking up at his brother.

"Always, Mokuba. No matter what happens, I'll always love you and take care of you,"

he said, using his finger to wipe away Mokuba's remaining tears.

"I love you, big brother," Mokuba said, looking up at Seto, who replied with a tender smile.

"I love you too, Mokuba," he said, but as he looked down, he saw his little brother asleep

in his arms. Picking him up gently, Seto carried him back down the hall to his room. He

pulled back the covers and tucked his brother in. With a final word, he left the room.
