Gift of Us

Snow covered London like a white blanket that froze things instead of heated. The branches of trees glistened in the sun as the snow reflected the light beautifully. Birds could not be heard for they had all flew off to find somewhere warm a long time ago. The streets were empty as everyone stayed in their nice warm houses enjoying a cup of hot chocolate next to a blazing fireplace.

Clark Kent flew down to the patio of Diana Prince's condominium. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves.

Diana Prince, also known as Princess Diana of Themyscira and Wonder Woman, has fought side by side with Clark for the past 6 years getting to know each other and becoming closer. She is Clark's best friend, the only person he has been completely open and honest with for the first time ever in his life. She has accepted Clark for all of who he is, she supports him and has filled part of him that had been so empty.

He sighed again and looked down at the medium sized bag he was holding.

His heart skipped when the door opened.

"Hey, Kal-El," Diana said with her gorgeous smile.

"Hey...hey, Di..." he said nervously.

They stared into each other's eyes for a long minute.

"Did you want to come in?"

"Oh...uh...well I just wanted to give you this." He held up the bag. "I don't want to be an interruption."

Diana smiled again and moved to the side a bit. "Come on in, Kal."

He slightly nodded. After closing the door, Clark followed her into the living room and they sat on the couch.

"So what do you have for me?" she asked playfully.

"First Christmas gift."

"Oh, really?! You didn't have to!" She paused for a moment. "And first?"

"Open it."

"Wouldn't waiting Christmas Day be more appropriate?"

"Just open it."

Diana was still a little hesitant before taking out what looked like a shirt.

"Kal, is this...?" She gasped. "Oh gods! You didn't?!" She laughed softly.

It was a yellow graphic tee with "You Are My Sunshine" printed on it.

" were talking about wanting a shirt but didn't have time to go to the mall."

"Awe!" She smiled. "You are the sweetest!"

"I don't want it to seem cheesy or anything with the wording. I don't know but I just felt it was the right one."

"It's not at all cheesy," Diana laughed. "Anyone else would think so maybe, but not to me. It means a lot that you always take the time to do things for me no matter what it is." She leaned over to kiss his cheek. "Thank you, Kal."

"No problem, Di," he said pulling her into an embrace.

"May I ask you something, Kal?"

"Yeah, of course."

"Am I your sunshine?"

Clark grinned and caressed her cheek. "That's not even a question to ask, Diana. Of course you are."

4 days later...Wayne Manor: Wayne Enterprises Annual Christmas Party

Diana smiled as she walked up to Clark who was waiting for her by the stairwell.

"Well...Don't you look dashing, Mr. Kent!"

He chuckled. "I try my best, Ms. Prince. But you...Breathtaking as always."

Diana kissed Clark's cheek before embracing him.

"Before we go inside, I want to give you something."

"Another gift?"

"Yeah..." He too out a small box from his jacket pocket. "And I want you to open it now."

Diana smiled. "So this must count as the second gift?"

"Yes it does."

Diana then gasped opening the box revealing a gorgeous bracelet.

"Oh, Kal! This is..."

"It's my mother, Lara's."

Diana looked at him shocked. Her heart fluttered. "Kal, I-"

"It's made of rare stone from a far planet I'm still trying to locate. It's equivalent to the musgravite gemstone. My father wrote about it in his journal."

"Kal, this is so beautiful but I shouldn't..."

"I want you to have it. It was very special to my mother." He took the bracelet out of the box, placing it around her wrist. "You are special to me."

Tears welled up in her eyes as she embraced him again.

Pulling away, Clark gently wiped her tears and kissed her cheek and forehead.

Their faces were only centimeters apart, staring into each other's eyes.

It was in this moment Clark was more than sure about his next gift for the upcoming day.

Christmas Day

After the Justice League spent majority of the day volunteering, Diana went to her condo to get her gift for Kal. Earlier, they made plans to meet at the Fortress to spend the rest of the Christmas Day together.

Holiday or not, Diana always enjoyed Kal's company. This would be their first Christmas spending time alone together.

The large doors were already opening as Diana flew down.

She expected to see Kal, but she was greeted by his direwolf hound, Krypto.

"Woof! Woof!"

"Merry Christmas, Krypto!" She said patting his head. "Where is Kal?"

Diana followed him to one of the open areas of the Fortress.

"Oh by the Gods!" She gasped seeing an enormous decorated Christmas tree. "Wow, Kal-El. You have really outdone yourself with this."

"You think so?" He asked from behind.

Diana jumped slightly feeling his hand on her hip.

She turned to face him with her gorgeous smile.

"Hi, Kal."

"Hi, Diana."

Diana looked down at the wrapped gift she had for him, blushing.

"This is for you..."

"Di, you didn't have to get anything."

"I'll admit, trying to find the perfect gift is quite the challenge. But this, I think, speaks to Superman, Kal-El and Clark Kent."

Kal smiled taking the gift and carefully opened it.

"A book. The seal has my crest?"

When he gently touched it, it glowed and unlocked.

Diana smiled. "I asked of Apollo to create this special book for you as you are a Sun God in your own right, Kal. You are a man of knowledge and artistry as well. This book is for you for your writings, for your own discoveries... anything you want."

"Wow! Thank you, Di!" He embraced her lifting her slightly of the ground.

"I'm glad you like it!"

"It means a lot. Truly and especially from you."

Clark placed the book down then took both of Diana's hands in his.

"Now for my final gift to you."

"It's not just for today, but everyday beyond and forever."

"What it is?"

He stared at her with unwavering focus.

"My last gift is...honesty."

Diana frowned confused. "Kal, you've already given me that and so much mo-"

"I love you, Diana," he said catching her by surprise.

"Wait? What?"

"I said...I love you, Diana. I'm in love with you." He sighed and held her hands tighter. "I've held back for so long. I can't let any more time slip by. My first two gifts to you, symbolized so much. The first was to let you know, I'm listening...I'm putting my focus and attention on you. I care about you, Diana and your happiness. I'll do anything for you no matter what it is. The second was to show how much I trust and cherish you. I meant what I said. You are very special to me."

Diana's heart thundered in her chest. She was overcome with her own emotions.

"The greatest gift is having you in my life, Diana."

She leaned over to him and brushed her lips against his in a soft tentative kiss. His lips warm and softer than she'd ever imagined.

"You, Kal-El, are the most amazing man I've ever met. We've come so far. Learned and grown so much together. I trust you more than anyone else I know." She caressed his cheek. "You have my heart and I love you, too."

Kal grabbed her waist and pulled her into him with enough passion that it made her gasp. Diana felt so comfortable in his arms, she could feel herself relax and melt into his chest.

His mouth was on hers, heat stirring between them, each stroke of tongue stoked the fire inside and it burned faster and hotter within her every second that passed.

Diana flung her arms around his neck so she could mold her body even closer to his, because suddenly it wasn't enough. Even the clothing between them seemed like an enormous vast keeping her from him. She searched for skin, hands sliding on the soft flesh of his neck and running them through his hair.

Kal became bolder in his own exploration, enjoying the moan that he pulled from her mouth. Diana lifted her leg to curl around his and he caught it, kept it there, the wide reach of his fingers pressing her into him, so much so that she could now feel the intimate effect she had on him pressing against her. She sucked on his lip, tortured it so divinely with her teeth that it was almost too much for him. They needed to stop now, or he wouldn't be able to.

He pulled his mouth away from hers in an effort that proved so much more difficult than he'd ever imagined and leaned his forehead to hers. Both searching for breath as their chests continued to collide.

After a moment he smiled at her and released her leg from his side, bringing a hand up to brush the hair from her face and tuck it behind her ear. He kept her close, hand on her neck as he spoke.

"Nothing can compare to us."

And even after everything she'd just done with him, it was his words the made her blush and hide her face in his chest.

"I'm not dreaming am I?" he said, bright ocean blue eyes searching deep into her cerulean.

"No, Kal, not dreaming. This is very real. This is truly us...finally," She tangled their hands together and a smile gracing her gorgeous face. "Merry Christmas, Kal."

"Merry Christmas, Diana. Our first of many more to come," he responded before capturing her lips in the sweetest kiss.
