I hit 183,541 words over 13 chapters before realizing I needed to rework this mess of a story to make it even better. However, I'm pretty busy with my indie game Chessica Wildcard: Thrust Into The Ring and my Jason Godwin youtube channel. Eventually, I will finish this story for real and make it over one million words long. But in the meantime... Please enjoy this laconic version!

War has changed.

My name is Sunrise Stardust, and I was born one hundred and twenty eight years after what many assumed would be the total maginuclear annihilation of my kind.

My parents were not good, but they eventually stopped mattering. The prison of a bunker I called a Vault was not a nice one, but it could have turned out worse.

In a Stable that was initially designed to adhere to meritocratic ideals before falling to cronyism and corruption and the constant purges demanded by a paranoid tyrant, I made some friends that could do things I could never do. I could change some hearts with words alone, I initially developed my understanding of hacking and computers so I could cheat at video games before growing this interest and gift with computers into a weapon of robotic warfare, and I could cast just about any spell I'd ever seen. But even one as strong, perceptive, tough, charismatic, intelligent, agile, and just plain lucky as myself couldn't do it all alone.

I befriended one who uncovered the secret at the heart of Zebra Alchemy, uplifted the art from the foolishness and superstition that clouded its practice, and perfected the science at its core.

I befriended a talented magical blacksmith who could turn any request, commission, or schematic of mine into a lethal and mighty weapon.

I befriended an engineer whose powerful robots and Power Armour designs had been tested and perfected in the fires of underground bloodsports.

I befriended the leader of a Ghost-obsessed secret occult literature club and turned their sorry group into a dark magical strike force under my command.

I restored the spark of life within the greatest Life Mage I ever knew, and became a glorious and powerful blazing messiah to the ponies who trusted me to lead them to a bright new future.

I even seduced the Overmare's daughter, gave her my Bigger Iron, and married her.

And within my Vault, I formed a system able to compete with the current failing regime for resources and citizens. A system where a comprehensive education in magic, science, and ethics were considered essential to one's individual development and growth.

My proudest achievement?

Well, if it's not the efficient factories and farms I built and staffed with robots to streamline and automate production...

Or I-DM, the weak little Spritebot I toughened up and upgraded into a magical warfare-redefining shield-forming weapon of mass destruction carrying two mechanical arms that ended in laser rifles, two mechanical arms that ended in Pulse Miniguns, an under-mounded phallic Railgun and a back-mounted Balefire Egg Launcher, running upgraded software able to control these weapons with incredible efficiency and pinpoint accuracy and truly supernatural reaction times while interfacing with my Pip-Buck's Optical Adaptable Targeting System (OATS) to detect and mark targets on my helmet's visor (Even those behind walls and under invisibility cloaks) from up to five thousand meters away...

It's the fact that I undid the apocalypse by forming a gang and turning it into an army over one thousand Dark Stars strong. That's what I called the army... My Dark Stars. Each and every member had their own name, their own reasons for joining, something of their own to contribute, and their own reason for why they were here and not trying to ignore the world's problems underground. I used my army to reconquer Equestria. This took over one million words and several months. I fought against many, many foes. And each one symbolically represented a sin or flaw or failing that ended the old world, or a sin or flaw or failing of the current world, or a sin or flaw or failing within me. I had to overcome all of these things before I could win. I'm proud to say that at the end of my journey, my victory was completely earned. I didn't just randomly happen to stumble upon a conveniently-empty machine that gave me absolute dominance over one of reality's fundamental forces once I plugged myself into it. Though I did plug myself into a Pokemon-themed VR Matrix at one point, so I could free the ponies trapped within the system. That was a fun story arc.

Also, I got laid a lot, I made a lot of references to old western music, I formed a sicktacular collection of guns and power armour suits, and I spelled out "Pee is stored in the balls" with the first letter of my chapter titles. Absolutely nobody noticed this until I pointed it out to them.

So... That's it. That's the story. The outline for the story, full of notes and pre-written scenes, is over one point two million words long.

I am Sunrise Stardust, and the world will remember my name.
