"Yes, Catherine?" Grissom clasped his hands together and gave Catherine his undivided attention after finding her still looking at
him in silence.

A grin appeared on her face as if she had been caught doing something bad but was not one bit ashamed of it, "Hi."

He raised an eyebrow at her, "Can I help you with something?"

"I can wait." She gestured at the paperwork he had been working on when she came into his office.

"So can this." He patted the pile of papers on his desk. "I needed a break anyway."

"Is that all I am to you? A distraction?" She pouted, pretending to be disappointed.

"A *beautiful* distraction." He smirked, prompting a satisfied smile from her, "So what's on your mind, Catherine?"

"Me?" He asked, hardly able to contain the amusement in his voice.

"Yes *you*. I was thinking about how lately you've been really distant from the rest of us, even me, and that bothers me. I was
thinking maybe you should tell me what's going on."

"I didn't know I occupied that much of your mind."

Catherine rolled her eyes, "Gil..."

"Of course, I shouldn't be too surprised. You occupy most of mine."

She looked at him with suspicion, trying to figure out the context of his comment. "I didn't come in here to flirt with you, Grissom."

"That's too bad."

"Catherine, I'm fine. You know that if anything was wrong with me, you would be the first person to know."

"Yes. So is that all?"

"No, just one more thing, am I really on your mind that much?"
