"It's time to reveal the last game!" Present Mic shouts. "But there's also good news! it's okay if you didn't make it to the next game, the festival will be holding recreational games everyone can participate in! We've even brought cheerleaders from America too-" Present Mic stops when he notices class 1-A. All the girls in the class were dressed the same as the cheerleaders. "Huh? What kind of fan service is this 1-A?"

"Are we not supposed to wear these?" Momo asks, getting embarrassed by the second. She quickly turned her head. "Mineta! Kiminari! You tricked us!" She fell to her knees. "Why am I always getting caught up in Mineta's schemes?" Ochaco walked and patted her on the back sympathetically.

"Those guys are so stupid!" Kyoka said, throwing down her cheer poms.

"There is still time before the final's start," Toru said, choosing to look on the bright side. "Things are sure to get tense. So let's still do it!" She finished, waving her cheer poms around, much to Kyoka's dismay.

"You're into this sort of thing, aren't you, Toru?" Tsuyu asked.

Hakai jogged up to the girls. "You guys look great!" He said with a smile.

"You too, Hakai?" Momo says in embarrassment, putting her head down.

"Hey, can you make me an outfit?"

"What?!" Everyone around him shouted.

"I wanna join!" The girls look at each other before laughing.

"Of course!" Mina laughed. "Can you make him an outfit?" She said between laughs.

"Yes!" Momo said as she made one. It was a short-sleeved shirt and shorts. She handed it to Hakai.

"Thanks, I'll be right back!" He said as he ran to one of the empty rooms.

"What?!" Mineta shouts. "He has infiltrated their ranks! He's a genius!" He says to Denki, who shakes his head in agreement. The duo runs over to the girls. "Hey, let us join-"

"No," Kyoka said abruptly.

Surprisingly quickly, Hakai ran back out, with the outfit on. "This is going to be fun! But I can't do it for long. I need to take a moment to rest."

"Alright, everyone! Let's have fun with the games!" Present mic continued. "Afterwards, the sixteen competitors left will duke it out in a one-on-one tournament!"

"A one-on-one fight, huh?" Kiminari thought out loud. "And I watch it on TV every year!"

"Was it a tournament last year?" Mina asks.

"Yes, though it's a little different every year."

"Now, let's draw for the bracket everyone!" Midnight announces. "Then we'll start the matches after the recreational games! The sixteen students can choose whether they want to participate in the games or not. I'm sure some of you want to prepare and save up your strength."

"About that..." Mashirao interrupts with a raise of his hand. "I'm withdrawing." Everyone gasps and stares at him with confusion.

"Oijiro? Why?" Izuku asks. "You've worked really hard to get to this point! You've helped me train for today!"

"He's right!" Tenya agreed. "This is your chance to be seen by pro heroes!"

"I know. But I don't remember anything from the calvary battle until the end, and I think it was that guy's quirk." He gestured over to Hitoshi. "I know this is a great chance and shouldn't waste it... But everyone is giving their all, and I made it here without even knowing what I did to get here!"

"You're worrying too much! You can just make sure you produce great results in the tournament!" Toru told him.

"I'm sorry, but my pride won't let me go through with it."

Hakai put his hand on Mashirao's shoulder. "Are you sure about this? I'm sure you can make up for it with how skilled you are in the tournament?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I'm sorry everyone." He said, putting his head down. "...why are you guys wearing those outfits?" Everyone wearing the outfits looked down in dejection.

"I'm Nirengeki Shoda, from class B, and I would also like to withdraw for the same reason. The point of the festival is to rise with your own ability, but that wasn't the case." Everyone stayed silent as they waited for Midnight.

"When youth talk like that...I love it! I accept your withdrawal! But that means someone will have to take their place."

"If that's the case, I nominate team tetsutetsu," Itsuka says. "They did the most out of the losing teams." All of class B agrees with her.

"Really? Y-You, guys..." He says before he screams in newfound resolve.

"All right! Tetsutetsu and Shiozaki will move on to the next round. And here is the bracket!" With that, the screen shows the first round of the bracket.

Midoriya Izuku vs. Shinso Hitoshi

Torodoki Shoto vs. Sero Hanta

Yaoyorozu Momo vs. Roiyaru Hakai

Kirishima Eijiro vs. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

Kiminari Denki vs. Shiozaki Ibara

Iida Tenya vs. Hatsume Mei

Ashido Mina vs. Tokoyami Fumikage

Bakugo Katsuki vs. Uraraka Ochaco

"This is seriously getting redundant!" Tetsutetsu and Eijiro shout at the same time.

"This is going to be a fun first round! I won't take it easy!" Hakai exclaims.

"I-I hope not!" Momo responds.

"Let's do our best!" Mina smiles.

"Yes, let's," Tokoyami nods.

"My first match is with, Shinso? Isn't that..."

"You're Midoriya, right?" Shinso said, coming up behind him. "I look forward to our first match."

"Me-" Midoriya was suddenly interrupted when Mashirao's tail covered his mouth. "Midoriya, no!" He shouted. Shinso smiled to himself before walking away.

"Oijiro, what's wrong?" Midoriya asks.

"Don't answer him," Mashirao says with a serious look in his eye.

"I'm fighting Uraraka?" Bakugo asks himself. Uraraka herself then squeals in response.

"Alright! Let's leave the tournament for an interlude!" Present Mic shouts. And with that, the recreational games begin. Many students participated in the games, while people cheered them on.

Hakai shouted and danced with the cheerleaders before he decided he needed a break. He texted his friends that he would be coming out for a while, and for them to meet him. He wanted to rest and think about the upcoming battle, he wanted to be in the best shape he could before fighting Torodoki. The thought of him was already enough to steal the smile on his face, he became highly exasperated. Angry at the thought of how Torodoki treated him, how he pushed him aside. Angry at himself because of how weak he was compared to him. Angry at how he couldn't do anything back then. Angry at how he let his friend become the person he is now. Angry, ironically, at how he let himself become so angry.

As he was walking out of the waiting rooms, he saw his sisters, Kaku and Sarai walking around. Once they saw him, they smiled and waved him over. When he got to them, Sarai hugged him.

"You did great out there!" Kaku smiles.

"You were awesome!" Sarai follows up.

"Thanks, guys!" Hakai says as he returns the hug to Sarai. "I forgot you guys would be here. I guessed I've been too focused on the festival."

"Not surprising, but you're doing so well! If only Mama and Papa could see you now. Mama was always so excited when you said you wanted to be a hero...

Hakai thought back to his late parents. He thought back to how his mother would tell him about her old hero stories, and how his father would sometimes take him to certain banquets and parties so he could meet different heroes.

"...Thank you, Kaku." She gave him a soft smile before they heard shouting coming their way. Toruyo, Yūgure, and Burunei, approached them.

"Hakai!" Yūgure shouts as she grabs him with a suffocating hug, that Toruyo did not appreciate. "You're a finalist!"

"Yūgure, he can't breathe," Burunei chuckled. "Besides, are you really that surprised?"

Yūgure let go of him, giving him a chance to catch his breath. "Of course not! I knew he would make it. But that doesn't stop me from being happy about it!"

Toruyo looked over at the family, and seeing them seemed to joggle her mind, as if something was trying to come to light. She wanted to say that she's seen someone like them, before the day she came to their house. But when? Seeing the family was like seeing puzzle pieces on a table, but Toruyo couldn't quite put it together.

"Insuta, are you okay?" Hakai asked.

"Huh? Oh, yes. Sorry, love. I was lost in thought."

"'Love', huh?" Burunei smiles. "How cute!" She finishes as she transforms.

"Have you been careful with your quirk?" Kaku asks.

"Yes, I have to. Especially with what I have planned."

"What do you mean?" Toruyo questions.

"I have a feeling that I'm going to go up against Torodoki. Sure, that's if Midoriya doesn't win, but I'm not completely sure how good he is with his quirk. I still believe in him though. That by itself raises questions within me. And based on what I know about Torodoki and how much he trains, I'm betting on him to win. And if I win all my battles, I'm may battle him in the semi-finals. It may be a challenge to not overuse my quirk with these limitations." He gestures to his cuffs.

"You're not doing what I think you going to do, are you?" Kaku interrogates. "Are you sure, you're ready for that?"

"I've been practicing. And don't worry, It's not going to be the one you think."

"*Sigh* I know Mama isn't here to teach you to control your quirk anymore, but please be careful."

"I will." He smiles. "I'm going to go. I want to rest and clear my head before the tournament starts. I'll see you guys when it's over."

"Alright, see you then."

"See you later, Hakai!" Sarai shouts. Everyone waves him goodbye, as he leaves. Toruyo wanted to follow him immediately, but she knew she should leave him alone. She remembers her tournament at U.A. and the battles weren't something to laugh about. There were a certain few in her year that was certainly trouble.

Hakai climbed to the top of the arena. From the high point, he watched as the other students participated in the games. He took a deep breath, getting ready for the battles to come.

"Hey guys, are you ready?!" Present mic shouted, causing the crowd to cheer. "A lot has happened, but now it's time for serious battles, one-on-one!"

All the participants readied for battle.

"Do you mind holding these for me when it's time for my battle?" Hakai asks Kyoka, gesturing towards his glasses.

"Your weird glasses?" She says as she grabs them.

"Yes, until my last battle if you don't mind. I want to fight everyone with only what I have to offer."

Izuku looked at his own pair of goggles, deep in thought. He's right. Everyone worked to get here with their own power, and so should I! He gets up and presents her with his pair. "Do you mind holding my pair too?"

"Um, sure." She smiles. She takes Hakai's and puts them on for a moment and looks around, making him laugh.

Izuku headed for the field entrance, and those who weren't fighting yet sat with the class. "Alright everyone let's start! Now, our first matchup. We have the one who has done really well, but his face says otherwise, Midoriya Izuku! Versus, uh, sorry, he hasn't shown much so far, Shinso Hitoshi!" Present Mic then continued to explain the rules as the two walked into the arena.

"I'm so excited!" Hakai shouts.

"Me too!" Kirishima follows up. "I've been waiting for this!"

"Bring on the awesome battles!"

"Ready...Start!" Present announces. Midoriya runs forward as the crowd cheers before, in an instant, he stops moving.

"Uhh... What?" Hakai asks in confusion.

Mashirao immediately stands up in frustration. "No! I even warned him!"

"Huh? What's happening, Oijiro?"

"I don't know completely, but after I spoke with that Shinso guy, I don't remember much about the cavalry battle. But according to everyone else, I was working with him. I think it's a quirk that controls people."

"So controls people? But how?"

"Turn around, and walk out of bounds." Shinso orders Izuku. Izuku immediately turns around, following the order, and begins walking towards the edge.

"What? He's just going along with it?" Hakai questions, before the reason suddenly hits him. "Mind Control."

"What?" Tenya turns to him. "What do you mean?"

"Think about it. It controls people, but not physically, only after he speaks to them. If you answer his question or speak to him, he takes control of your actions."

"I see. How would he get out of it?"

"I was knocked out of it during the cavalry battle," Oijiro answers. "But that was because I bumped into someone. Midoriya is out there alone, so I don't know what would do it."

"C'mon, Midoriya! Snap out of it!" The class was on edge as Izuku walked closer and closer to the edge. He was about to put his foot over the edge before a strong gust of wind erupted from him. The gust of wind, threatening to send Hitoshi, and even Midnight flying, also blew over the audience as they watched. As the dust cleared, Izuku, panting heavily, had both his feet planted inside the arena, turning his head towards Shinso.

"Midoriya!" Tenya and Hakai shouted. They looked at each other and jumped up again in celebration of their friend. Hakai glances back over to his friend and notices his bruised and broken fingers. Huh?

"That's crazy..." Oijiro says as he sat down in his seat as if the situation was too much for him.

Shinso started speaking again, but Izuku covered his mouth. He began running towards Shinso, making sure to not say anything as he does. He grabs onto him and began pushing him to the edge. Shinso punched and pushed back, but Izuku's progress continued. Shinso tried to turn it around, by grabbing onto Izuku, but he failed as Izuku flipped him over his shoulder, out of bounds.

"The first person to advance to the second round is Midoriya Izuku from class 1-A." Present announced.

"I was so nervous!" Ochaco breathes out.

"Turning the tables is especially expected from Midoriya!" Tenya says proudly.

Soon, it was time for the second battle to start. "Next battle, Taking third, then first in the prelims! How strong are you? He was recommended for admission for a reason! From the hero course, Torodoki Shoto! Versus, he's good! He's great! But he looks really boring! From the hero course, Hanta Sero!" The two students walked into the arena.

Be careful, Sero... Hakai thought as he watched him stretch. He walked up to the rails and grabbed on to get a better view.

"Ready... Start!" And the battle began. Immediately Hanta shot his tape at Shoto and wrapped it around him. After, Hanta quickly ripped a piece off and began swinging Shoto out of bounds.

"You got this, Sero!" Hakai cheered. But it didn't last long. Ice erupted from Shoto's foot, darting for Hanta. The massive amount of ice quickly overtook him as it piled on, shaking the ground. When Shoto was finished, a giant glacier overtook a large part of the stadium, and everyone was stunned.

"Can you move, Sero?" Midnight asked, fiercely shivering from the cold, as some of the ice was also on her.

"O-Of course not, look at me... ow." He confirmed, shivering just as much.

"Sero is immobilized. Torodoki advances to the second round!"

The crowd was silent for a time before a hero tries to cheer Sero up from the devastating loss. "Don't worry about it!" He says, trying his best to smile. Others around the hero repeat after him, getting the entire stadium to shout the phrase, trying their best to lessen the blow.

Hakai stood, tightly gripping the rail. He didn't even notice how an ice shard was centimeters off from piercing his face. Izuku looked over at him. He saw Hakai's face was shaped into one of vexation. His energy cloak was covering his body, and it was one of the thickest he's seen. Izuku approached him, and put a hand on his shoulder, "Roiyaru?" It seemed to snap Hakai out of his gaze, causing him to let go of the rail, the bar mangled where his hands were. Seeing the damage, Hakai sighed. They both looked back to the arena as Shoto was freeing Hanta, heating the ice.

Momo stood inside the entrance to the arena. Soon it would be her against Hakai. She thought about what she would do. Thinking about what she's seen him do before and after coming to U.A., she wasn't sure how she would take him on. Just think, Momo. I can't give up before the battle even starts! I may not win, but that's not going to stop me from doing my best! ...So what can I do? What do I know about Roiyaru? Momo thought to herself for a moment.

As far as she knows, even though Hakai is capable at the range, he likes to focus on close combat. He's very skilled with the sword of course, and he's told her about his work in Kickboxing, Kenpo, and even Taekwondo over the years. He could also raise his physical attributes with his energy. Though she is skilled in bojutsu, close combat must be avoided if possible. So she decided to try to outrange him. But how? They need to be strong attacks too if she wanted to... Momo smiled to herself, she has a plan. Good thing she had a big lunch.

"For our next round, we have All-purpose creation! She was admitted through recommendations, so her abilities are certified! The girl with the plan, from the hero course, Yaoyorozu Momo! In the other corner, the chivalrous knight! He was also recommended for admission, but still took the entrance exam, and aced at the top! Staying in the top three throughout the festival, from the hero course, Roiyaru Hakai! It's a battle of versatility against versatility!"

Momo took a deep breath as she walked into the arena. She faced Hakai as she waited for the battle to begin.

"Good luck, Yoyo! First, we team up, then fight each other on different teams, now we're going at it one-on-one? How hilarious is that!" Hakai spoke as he stretched. "Let's be sure to have some fun!"

She nodded her head. "And to you, Roiyaru." Hakai likes fair battles, so he'll give me time to ready myself. But he'll also do the same.

"You got this, Hakai!" Yūgure cheered with Burunei shouting along with her. Toruyo stayed quiet, but her full attention is focused on the upcoming battle.

"Ready... Start!" Present Shouted.

Momo immediately created a metal shield, and she unzipped her jacket and began creating something from her stomach.

"Alright. 'Energy Knight'!" Hakai exclaimed. He covers himself in armor made of physical energy, resembling a sort of knight as expected. The was shaped as translucent gladiator-styled leg guards, arm braces, and a pauldron on his shoulder. Chainmail-like energy covered his torso and arms. He creates a bastard sword in one hand, and hovering a few inches over his other arm was a circular shield.

"What is this?!" Present Mic shouted. "I said knight, but I didn't mean this literally!"

Hakai stood in place and pointed his sword toward Momo. Momo stood her ground and readied her shield. After seconds of staring, Hakai activated a medium 'Energy Cloak', and darted for her. As he ran for her, she created an M202 rocket launcher. Hakai went wide-eyed at the site but didn't stop his advance. Instead, he smiled on and went straight on. She shot a rocket, and it heads straight for him. Hakai gripped his sword and twisted his body. He sliced his sword on the side of the rocket, he directed the projectile to his side making it explode. He faced forward to see another coming close. He swung his arm and knocked it away with his shield, making it explode to the side, continuing his charge.

"Those are some pretty hefty explosives!" Present Mic exclaimed. "Should this be allowed?"

"He can take it," Aizawa confirmed. "That's why Yaoyorozu went with it. She needed something that hits hard to combat his defense and slow down his attack. So she had faith and believed that Roiyaru was strong enough to withstand those attacks. This can be good. When working professionally, you sometimes have to believe your fellow heroes can take the heavy risk jobs."

Hakai dodges another rocket, then slashed another one. His focus on the rocket allowed her to create a special drone of her family's design, sprouting from her back. Before she could use it, Hakai closed in with his sword, thrusting forward. She moved her shield in the way just in time, blocking his attack, but the strong force sent her sliding back. When she stopped, sent up the drone, and it began flying around.

"What the...?" Hakai questioned as he saw it flying around. After making a circle, it aimed at Hakai. "Oh, sh-" He quickly put his shield up as it began rapidly firing shots. With Hakai busy blocking the drone she creates another and sends it in the air. "Oh, come on!" The second drone circled around and also began firing. Hakai jumped out of the way as rubber bullets pelted the ground where he once stood. After, he just dodges a metal staff swing for his side. He blocked Momo's attack with his sword. He tried a riposte but was interrupted by a spray of bullets, causing him to jump out of the way.

Momo kept up the attack while preparing a surprise. She lunged for him again, he leaned to the side and followed up with a strike of his own. She blocked with her own shield and tried to strike again, but after Hakai deflects it, she jumps out of the way as bullets began pouring down. He jumps to the side, dodging the spray of bullets. But as soon as he faces Momo, he catches himself staring down the barrel of a cannon pointed at him. "Got you!" With that, she fires the canon. An explosion erupts as the shot connects, filling the area with smoke.

"Whaaaaat?!" Present exclaimed. "A direct hit! That's got to hurt! Is Roiyaru still in it after a hit like that?!"

"Roiyaru!" Midoriya shouted. It's true Momo needed to do something drastic to combat Roiyaru, but a full-on cannon?! I didn't know she had it in her...

"Hakai!" Toruyo cried out, jumping to her feet.

"It's not over." Burunei states. Toruyo looks over to the other two and sees Yūgure shaking her head. "It was a good hit, but it's going to take more than that to take him out."

After the smoke begins to clear, Hakai's form becomes clearer. He was pushed to the edge of the arena, but stopped short with an energy pane, cracks spreading out from where his body slammed into it. He still stood, his shield held in front of him, cracked and broken all over. He had blocked the direct attack from the shell.

"He's still in it! It's not over yet!" Present exclaimed.

Hakai let the shield disperse, as a wild smile crept onto his face. "Now this party's getting started!" His body began to ache, and he felt a small thumping in his head.

A drop of sweat slides down Momo's face as she sees his face. She makes another drone and sends it in the air. Hakai laughs as he runs forward. The drones circle the arena and chase him down with bullets, but he continues. Momo takes a defensive stance as he nears, but suddenly he runs right past her. She turns her head in confusion.

Hakai runs around while the drones follow before suddenly jumping in the air. "Finally lined up." He holds out his hand and an orb of energy appears. He aims his hand towards the line of drones. "Energy Wave!" He then lets off a beam of energy, traveling in a straight line. The beam plows through the drones, destroying all except one, that was only slightly winged. The beam was aimed slightly upward to avoid hitting the audience. The thumping getting even harder in his head, Hakai holds himself in the air. He swings his sword towards the last drone and a slash of energy gives off of his sword, reaching the machine and destroying it.

"And just like that, the tide has turned once again with some air attacks! Is he going to stay up there?" Present shouts to the audience. Hakai looks down at Momo as he puts his hand on his head. He slowly lets himself down to the arena and faces her. With only a smile, he holds on to his sword and gets ready to attack. Momo gets ready to take him as he dashes forward. He meets her with a downswing that she stops with her shield sliding back, but he doesn't let up with another swing to the side. Momo blocks again and thrusts her staff forward. He deflects it and thrusts forward multiple times in quick succession. She barely manages to hang to her shield as she blocks the jabs, knocking her off balance. Seeing so, Hakai spins and swings his hand towards her. Chains wrap around her legs and arms. Barely able to stand, Hakai finishes his spin with a strong kick to her stomach sending Momo flying backward out of the arena. Momo bounced and rolled to a stop on the ground, wrapped in the chains of energy.

"Yaoyorozu is Out of bounds and immobilized! Roiyaru advanced to the second round!" Midnight proclaims as the crowd erupts into cheers. Hakai disperses his armor, cloak, and chains around Momo.

Toruyo smiles, sitting back down while Yūgure and Burunei stand up, cheering and clapping. So this is how you fight? I wonder where he learned his skills with the sword. It's obviously very European in style. That, coupled with his armor and energy enhancement, could really pose a challenge.

"That was super fun!" Hakai laughs as he reaches out his hand. Momo stares for a moment, but she smiles and takes his hand to pull her up. "That cannon truly surprised me! Were you trying to blow my head off!"

"My apologies, but I believed you would have been good enough for recovery to heal you if you had lost it." Hakai began laughing again but was interrupted by the pain in his head. "Are you okay? You formed plenty of energy back then."

"I'll be fine. I've had these go way worse. It should calm down by my next battle." With that, the two walked by into the stadium back.

"That was so cool to watch!" Present mic shouted. "After a short bit to fix the stadium, we'll start the next battle!"

Hakai and Momo joined the rest of the waiting U.A. students. Hakai didn't talk much coming back, as his head was throbbing, but it began to subside soon enough as the battle continues. Izuku was writing before suddenly getting up. "Are you okay?" Hakai asks him.

"I'm fine, but I'm a bit worried about Uraraka, she's about to go up against Kacchan, and I know that can be a bit nerve-racking."

"I see. I'll come to." They made their way to Ochaco's waiting area as the battle between Eijiro and Tetsutetsu rages on.

Izuku looks down from his seat to see Ochaco walk onto the field. He never got to give her the advice he wanted, but he needed to believe in her and her ability. Present Mic introduces the two, but Izuku wasn't listening. He was focused on Ochaco's form. She was nervous and sweaty, but still keeping a serious composer. Izuku knew personally how bad Katsuki could be and how rough he could get. But Ochaco has her own qualities, and her determination inspires him.

"Ready. Start!"

Immediately, Ochaco dashes towards Bakugo, reaching her hand out. Katsuki was ready. He swung his hand as she approached, and blew her away with an explosion.

"Uraraka!" Izuku shouts as Ochaco rolls to a stop. She stands and looks back at her explosive adversary. Izuku knew it was going to be hard for her to get close, but he's beginning to truly wonder how it's going to be possible. It's true that if she touches Katsuki, he might be immobilized in a nontraditional sense, or even blow himself out of bounds. Without gravity, Katsuki will be missing a large factor when propelling through the air with his explosions. He may very well blow himself out of the stadium. But she has to touch him.

BOOM! The loud sound was followed by smoke in the air. After trying time and time again, Ochaco kept rushing in. Ochaco slowly gets up again, beaten and scratched up.

"Does he have to go so far?" Tsuyu asks.

"Are you saying he shouldn't?" Hakai asks.

"You're okay with this?" Kyoka asks in shock. "She's getting destroyed out there! Even for a girl like Uraraka, he isn't holding back!"

"Why shouldn't he? What if he battling me out there? Or maybe Tokoyami or Midoriya? Would you expect him to hold back if they were going all out?"

"This isn't the same."

"But it is. Uraraka could have surrendered and backed out, but didn't. She chose to give it her all in this battle. And if a person doesn't give their best, while the other is, that person doesn't deserve to battle the other. What if someone was fighting a villain who was known to be dangerous? Would you expect them to take it easy on him because they are stronger? When you need to win, you give your best, regardless of the other. Bakugo knows this. Uraraka knows this."

"I get what you're saying, but don't you Bakugo could win without having to drag it out? He knows he has the higher combat capability." Hanta asks.

"Maybe. But look at his face, do you think he's taking that chance?"

Everyone looks at Katsuki's face, as Shota disciplined the crowd. It's serious as usual, but not in the way they expected.

"Thanks, Bakugo. For taking me seriously... and ignoring everything else!" Ochaco shouted with resolve. She put her fingers together. Katsuki quickly looked up as rocks and gravel began to rain down. Ochaco ran up to him as fast as she could, reaching her hand out as he is now distracted. But she just couldn't make it. Katsuki lefts his hand in the air, followed by a massive explosion. The was not only strong enough to blast away all of the falling debris, but the shock wave also sent Ochaco flying. After the dust clears, she slowly stands up in pain.

"It's not over, is it, Uraraka!" Katsuki calls out to her. "So let's get serious!" He begins to charge toward her, hands ready to use his quirk, but she collapses to the ground as soon as she turns to face him. Bakugo stops in his tracks, surveying the situation, but refuses to let his guard down. It's not until Midnight steps onto the scene, do his arms drop to his side.

After a few seconds, Midnight speaks. "Uraraka is unable to continue. Bakugo advances to the second round!" The crowd erupts into cheers as Katsuki looks over at her. He wasn't blind to her strength. He could see how far she pushed herself to fight him. Ochaco was picked up to be brought back to the infirmary. Noticing her top on the ground, he picks it up off the ground and places it on her side.

Izuku left the seats to head to the waiting room. On the way there Katsuki was walking up the stairs. "Oh, Kac-"

"Shut up, and get the hell out of the way!"

"I-I'm just on the way to the waiting room because I'm next! C-Congrats on your win!" Izuku stutters before walking off. But he didn't get too far before he stopped himself. "Kacchan, why did you give her the jacket back? She wasn't even-"

"She worked hard," Katsuki said, shocking Izuku. "She tried her best to beat an overwhelming enemy with her own strength."

"Kacchan... I didn't expect that from-"

"Shut up, nerd!" He shouted before heading back up to the seats.

"It's time for the second round!" Present Mic announces to the cheering crowd. "The first match is already set up to be awesome! In one corner, the man who froze his opponent as well the audience, from the hero course, Torodoki Shoto! In the other corner, the one who barely won, but keeps pushing forward! What's his plan for this massive challenge? From the hero course, Midoriya Izuku!"

"So you made it," Shoto spoke.

"I had to. To get to this moment" Izuku responded. This whole event, Izuku has been mentally preparing for this fight. He's been holding back 'One for All' until the time he absolutely needed. This is the time.

"Tokoyami, what do you think about this match?" Tenya asks.

"Midoriya needs to get in close to get a good blow."

"I wonder what Deku plans to do about that ice?" Ochaco asks herself.

"What about you, Roiyaru?" Tenya turns. "This match seems to have you a little tense."

Hakai stood close to the railing, his arms crossed against his chest. "Midoriya needs a good first move. If he messes up once, it's over. Especially at the beginning, while they're at a distance."

"I see. So Midoriya needs a way to quickly cover ground."

"Jiro," Hakai calls.

"Yeah?"

"Keeps those glasses pointed towards the battle, please. It's important."

"Umm, Alright?" She says in confusion. No idea why he asks.

All Might and Endeavor, keep their eyes close to the battlefield, watching intently for the battle to start.

"Ready!" Present shouts excitedly, "Start!"

Immediately, Shoto launches ice from his foot, closing in on Izuku. Izuku just as quickly responds with a burst of pressure launch from his finger. "Smash!" It broke through the ice and blew cold air all around the stadium. Shoto was slid back before stopping himself with a wall of ice.

"Midoriya stopped Torodoki's attack with a powerful counter!"

Shoto looks forward to Midoriya a few seconds before trying again. He's going to hurt himself to stop my attacks, but how long can he keep this up? He must be planning something else.

Izuku stood with a steady stance, holding his hand, and flicked another finger, breaking immediately, stopping the attack. I gotta hold on! There has to be an opening, there always is! I just have to hold out and find it! My best option right now is too...!

Izuku began running towards Shoto. Said competitor shot ice towards him again, but Midoriya flicked another finger. But instead of flying back, he directs OFA to his first two toes, pushed him off the ground, and shot toward Shoto. As he approached, he got another finger in position, ready to send Shoto flying. Just barely reacted quickly enough, to use his ice to dodge to the side as Midoriya almost shoots him point-blank with the flick of his finger, instead he blasted the area behind him. Shoto quickly followed up with a close-range attack of his own, but Izuku spun around and swung his arm, blasting Shoto back. He screamed out in pain as a massive blast blew through the stadium.

As Shoto creates ice, it breaks as he flies back, just saving himself from the edge of the stadium. "Risky move Midoriya. But I can see why the pay-off would be worth it."

Izuku gains his balance facing Shoto. Shoto looks up at his father, then looks back at his opponent. "It seems you making it this far into the match isn't making him happy. I must thank you Midoriya-" He was interrupted as Izuku pushed off with another 100 percent dash. Izuku put OFA into his arm as he flies toward him. Keep it together! Shoto tries to defend himself with his ice, but Izuku reaches him in time, landing a strong blow into his stomach. Shoto rolls on the ground as Izuku takes a step forward. "Will you shut up about him!" He shouted.

"A solid hit!" Present Mic exclaims as the crowd cheers.

Shoto stood up in shock and confusion. "What?"

"I'm fighting you, not your father!" Izuku yells.

Shoto shakes his head in confusion before he shoots ice toward his opponent. Izuku dodges and runs forward. Sidestepping more torrents of ice, he gets in close with Shoto again.

"You're draining yourself, Shoto, and losing your focus!"

"I'll manage. This is all I need to win." Sending more ice, Izuku flicks it away with a burst of pressure.

"Then I'll need to push harder." Stepping back Shoto launches a wave of ice that was more than twice as much as usual. Izuku readies a finger, before changing to his undamaged arm. Izuku swings his arm right before the ice touches him, breaking the column apart, and sending a cold wind throughout the stadium. Izuku screams in pain but forces himself to stay on his feet. Through gritted teeth, he again reaches out to shoot. "You're not pushing as hard as you can! You have the power you're refusing to use! How is it fair to everyone else who is truly giving it their all! I not going to let you win like that! You haven't even hit me this whole battle!"

"Is that what you're after? Did my father put you up to this?! To use his power?!" Shoto's face switched to anger as he runs after Izuku. Choosing to meet him, Izuku launches off again with a 100 percent dash, breaking his toes even more. He again readied a finger despite how broken they were. Shoto expected this and was already stepping to the side, but that's exactly what Izuku wanted, as he spun around and launches pressure closely on Shoto, sending him flying back.

The fight continues as the crowd watches in awe. The two go back and forth from offense to defense. Shoto couldn't believe this. Izuku looked like someone had thrown from a building, but he wasn't showing any indication of slowing down, breaking finger after finger. After a flick sending both fighters back, Shoto slowly stands up. "Why are you doing this? Going so far?"

"Because I want to be a hero! To do that I have to show everyone I have what it takes! That's why I'm trying so hard! That's why everyone is trying their best! So should you! Not using everything you have because of your father... You should stop screwing around!"

Izuku then holds out both of his hands. One is flat, the back of it facing Shoto, and the other is holding up three fingers. He then puts the three fingers against the other hand, and Shoto knew exactly was he was doing.

"Is he serious!" He whispers to himself. Shoto quickly puts ice behind him as Izuku shoots three 100 percent shots one after the other. The first one pushes Shoto against his wall of ice. The second push him deep into the wall breaks the ice as he enters. The third drives him so deep into the wall, the crowd could no longer see him.

"Woah! A triple attack!" Present Mic shouts, coming to a stand. "We can't see Torodoki! Is he still fighting?"

"Not using his power? It's your power, isn't it?!" Izuku yells as the stadium goes silent. Shoto thought back to his childhood as Izuku's words echo in his mind. His father's abusive treatment. Him, crying into his mother's chest about all the things he felt. Him being kept from playing with his siblings. His mother's exhaustion with the abuse. Her, injuring him. His father spoke of sending her off. The day he refuses to use his father's power. But during all that time he had forgotten. Forgotten what his mother had said to him. Encouraging him. Encouraging him to be the hero he wanted to be. No matter where his power came from, it was his own. And no matter what his father wanted, he will decide what kind of hero he wanted to be.

Izuku stares into the darkness inside the ice. Waiting, but ready to spring into action. After a few more seconds, the ground shook as fire exploded out of the crack of the ice. The wall quickly melts away around Shoto, revealing his form, his left half bursting with flames. People in the stadium reeled back from the large blast of heat. But Hakai leaned in as his eyes widened.

"You want to win..." Shoto huffs quietly. "But you've been trying to help me this entire battle. Who's really screwing around here! I do want to be a hero!" Izuku looks on at his opponent as flames burst from his body, melting the remaining ice.

"Shoto!" Endeavor shouts. "You've finally accepted yourself! With that power, my blood, you will do what I've led you towards!"

Shoto couldn't help but hear those words, knowing that he is doing what his father wants, causing him to shed a tear. But right now he needed to push that away because this is what he wants for himself. To win.

Izuku stared on in amazement. He finally made Shoto use his fire-half against him. But as he took it in, it finally hit him. He made Shoto use his fire-half against him.

"You're smiling but you're in a terrible situation. Your injuries paired with me uses both my quirks. You must be crazy. Just don't blame for what happens." With that, Shoto stomps on the ground, ice blasting from his foot as it spreads around him. Izuku seeing he was making a move responds, sending OFA to his leg, the pressure building up around him. Air swirled around the stadium as the two readied themselves to meet head-on.

Cementoss jumped and put his hands to the ground so he could manipulate the cement of the arena. "Midnight! If this continues, it won't end well!"

"He'll seriously injure himself!" They try to put a stop to the battle but the two are already in motion. Shoto spreads his ice all over the arena as Izuku kicks off straight for him. As they neared each other, Shoto immediately stopped with the ice before quickly superheating the area. Izuku sent OFA into his hand as he flew. He couldn't even form a fist, but he still threw his arm forward.

"Midoriya... Thank you." Shoto spoke right before an explosion shakes the entire arena, completely destroying the walls put up by Cementoss. As the air rushed through the stadium, the people held on to seats and others as they tried not to be blown back. Parents held their children, students shielded their faces, but others just stared on. Toshinori looked onto the arena, in shock from the blast his students created as well as wondering what the outcome was. Hakai was still holding onto the rail but was leaning forward instead of being pushed back. He had to see. His emotions blended together; curiosity, joy, anger, excitement. All mixed together as he waited for the outcome.

As the smoke cleared everyone did their best to recover from the blast. "What is with your class, Aizawa? What even was that?" Present Mic speaks from the floor of the spectator's box.

"The air was first cooled thoroughly before being heated and rapidly expanding creating an explosion."

"Just how hot was that? Hey, who won down there?"

Midnight stands rubbing her head after being tossed around but the draft. After looking through the smoke, she finally saw Izuku pressed against the wall outside the stadium before falling to the ground. "M-Midorya is out-of-bounds. Torodoki advances to the next round!" The crowd erupts into cheers as Shoto tries to catch his breath, half of his top burns away into tatters.

After checking on Izuku, it was time for Hakai's next round. He was worried about him. He was going into surgery after all. But right now, all he could do was wait. He had some for his friend, but they could wait. His thoughts were also on Shoto. He finally did it. He used his fire. He knew why he didn't want to use his power, and how it affected him, but he wondered how deep Izuku reached into him. It made Hakai fall deep into his own head.

He walked into the arena now facing Eijiro. If he wanted to get to Shoto he had to make it past this battle, quickly. He took out a key and took off one of his cuffs. One of the cuffs on his arms. The crowd whispered to themselves curiously.

"Wait, Roiyaru! Are you sure about this?" Midnight asks as he gives her the cuff to hang onto.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's only one arm, and I won't be pushing the limits, I assure you."

She nods her head as she walks off the arena. Hakai walks to the starting position, facing Eijiro.

"Here's to a good battle," Hakai says blankly, as if his mind was in the clouds, and quickly bows.

"You too, Roiyaru! Let's have fun, yeah?" He gets into a fighting position waiting for the battle to start.

"...I'm sorry, Kirishima," Hakai says quietly. Kirishima was about to ask what he meant, he was interrupted by the commencing battle.

"Ready... Start!" Present Mic began the battle. Immediately, like a blur, Hakai rushed up to Eijiro. Hardening his body, he thought he was just ready to block his attack, but Hakai had no plans of hitting him. As Hakai reached him, attacked in one swift motion. He grabbed his arm, pulled on it, and kicked back his foot, tripping him. For a moment Eijiro was off the ground, but Hakai continued to pull his arm over his shoulder. He twists around and puts his hand on Eijiro's stomach and puts a lot of energy into his uncuffed arm, then powerfully throws him. Eijiro goes flying into the stands, all in one motion. People quickly move out of the way, as Eijiro crashes into the seats. The people were quiet for a moment as Eijirou stood up, rubbing his head. Midnight looks over to Hakai and raised her whip. "Kirishima is out-of-bounds. Roiyaru Moves on to the Next round!"

Already in the stands, Eijirou starts to move toward his class. "That was a lot quicker than I wanted that to be!" Hakai takes the cuff back from Midnight and does the same.

"Recipro... Burst!" Iida shouted as he took off. Dodging past Ibara's vines, He grabs onto her shoulders and pushes her off-stage. "Shiozaki is out-of-bounds. Tenya moves on to the next round!"

After finishing this battle it wasn't long before the next one was already underway.

"That thing is so annoying!" Bakugo yelled before blasting Fumikage's dark shadow. It yells out as it takes the blasts, but still protects Fumikage.

"How vicious...!" That was all Fumikage could say with Katsuki continuing his onslaught. Blast after blast, dark shadow defended, but he was slowly getting worn down. Even though Katsuki was getting faster, dark-shadow was getting slower. Katsuki noticed this dynamic, and he finally realized why. He blasts forward with an air attack, hitting dark-shadow directly. Dark Shadow tries to grab for him, but Katsuki quickly flies away landing behind Fumikage. Dark-shadow tries to protect him, but Katsuki was ready. "Stun Grenade!" The entire arena was encased in a bright lasting light before an explosion erupted. After having the smoke cleared, everyone could see Katsuki holding down Fumikage, readying an explosion. Fumikage looked at the situation and knew he had no moves he could play. "I give up."

"Tokoyami gives up! Bakugo moves on to the next round!" Present Mic announces. "We're now moving on to the semi-finals! The Final Four!" On the large screen, pictures of Shoto, Hakai, Tenya, and Katsuki were shown. The crowd cheered, eager for the next round to start.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Hakai is sitting in the waiting room, trying to prepare himself. The door opens and in walks Momo and Izuku. Hakai looks up at them before looking back down to the table.

"Hakai, are you okay?" Momo asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just trying to get ready for this."

"You can do this, Roiyaru. Just try and keep your cool." Izuku encourages, putting a hand on Hakai's shoulder. "I can share some strategies with you if you'd like."

"No, no. I'm fine. I need to do this myself. A long time ago I said I would."

"Yaoyorozu told me how you could be when it comes to Torodoki, and I even noticed some of it myself. I just wanted to make sure you were alright."

"I'm fine. Just a bit… shocked by the match." Hakai stated, slightly looking away. "But on that note, I have a few questions for you too. But that can wait until all this is over." Izuku didn't know what to make of that last comment, but he left it alone for now. "I have something special for Todoroki, and if he wants to stay in the game, he's definitely going to need to go out of his way to fight."

"I know what you're planning to do." Momo says, "Be careful."

"I'll be fine! I just can't let it end like before." He finished in almost a whisper.

"It's almost time," Izuku announced. "We should get going." Izuku and Momo wished him luck before leaving.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Hakai and Shoto walked out onto the arena from opposite sides, the crowd cheering and screaming as they approach.

"On one side, one that has shown us thrill after thrill has been one of the top contenders, Torodoki Shoto!" Present Mic announced, to a crowd of roaring spectators. "On the other end, he continuously raises the bar, has also stayed at the top, Roiyaru Hakai! How will this battle between rivals play out?"

Hakai and Shoto can to a stop.

Shoto stared him in the eyes, waiting for the battle to start. I can't stop here, I have to reach the top, even if I have to push past him.

Hakai was not going to let himself lose here. He had something to prove. No to the spectators, teachers, or other students. But to himself. And even that was a secondary mission. I will win. I have to win. With that in mind, he took out a key and went to take off the collar on his neck.

"He's talked about it before, but I never got a scale for how much the cuffs inhibit."

"Quite a lot." Yūgure answers. "With the cuffs on his power output is similar to his mother's, so she could teach him to control it. She was a very strong hero, so a lot could still be accomplished. With them off, his power increases exponentially. But he is still working on minimizing his drawback, so the pain he brings to himself also increases. Each cuff limits the output of a certain area of his body. Though the one around his neck is a bit different."

"I see. I hope this won't be too much for him."

"It looks Hakai is done playing around! Alright, let's get this started!" Present Mic shouts. "Ready! Start!"

Shoto immediately sent a large wave of ice. Just as fast, Hakai jumped high into the air. As he reached the peak of his jump, he formed his armor and sword, setting the weapon ablaze with indigo fire. He made a pane of energy and pushed off it, jetting for his opponent. Shoto responds by creating a barrier of ice before the sword could reach him. Hakai struck the wall hard with his sword, sending off chunks of ice.

"And we're already off to an exciting start!" Present Mic shouts.

Shoto jumped from around the wall and sent another wave of ice. Hakai swung forward, sending an energy slash, cutting into the ice and forcing Shoto to jump out of the way.

"Still no fire for me, huh?" Hakai shouts as he runs towards his rival. Shoto tried to dodge his swings, but his main defense was blocking with ice walls and columns. "Am I still not enough? Do I need to push harder?"

"It seems this battle is going to be more fast-paced!"

After another strike is blocked with ice, he points his hand toward Shoto and fires an energy wave. The half-and-half boy dodges whiles simultaneously following up with an attack of his own. Hakai swings and breaks the ice, but Shoto doesn't let up. He continuously forces more and more ice onto Hakai. Even after breaking more and more ice shards, Hakai begins to get overwhelmed. He jumps back and lets off an energy slash quite larger than normal, splitting all the ice in his way. The slash itself passes Shoto's face by mere inches.

"Why are you so angry with me?" Shoto asked, but he was met with silence.

Without breaking eye contact, Hakai puts his hand in the air, his palm facing upward, "Sword Rain." Above the arena, swords of energy began to form in the air. After around two scores of swords filled the air, he dropped his hand, and with it the swords. Shoto dodges a few of them but after a cut on his arm, then another on his leg, he opted to erupt a wall of ice that protected him from the swords and Hakai.

Hakai walked up to the wall of ice. If I try to go from the side, he'll immediately send a barrage of ice, same with the back. And he has his top covered. I guess I'll just break it down, so it won't be a problem later, though he'll surely follow up with an attack. The boy then coated his arm with a significant amount of energy. "Shatter Strike!" He announced as he threw his punch against the ice, dealing a heavy blow. And just like the namesake, the large wall cracked all around before it all fell apart, shattering like glass being hit by a wrecking ball. Just like he predicted, as the ice fell, Shoto responded. With a wave of ice, he caught Hakai's sword. But Hakai charged forward. He heated up his blade, ran it through the ice, and swung for Shoto. The attack was too fast to dodge completely, so he coupled with redirecting Hakai's strike with his ice.

Trying to capitalize on the opening, he ices over Hakai's leg and continues for the rest of the body. Hakai broke off the ice and jumped in the air, and keeps himself floating above the ground, and Shoto, frustration seen on his face.

"What do I have to do for you to see me as a challenge? As a rival! What do I have to do to open your eyes!"

"What do you want from me?" Shoto asked out. "Is my fire that important to you? What do you have to gain? What do you want for you to have so much anger?!"

"I want cousin back!" Hakai yelled, freezing Shoto in his tracks. "I want my rival! My partner in crime! My friend!"

Shoto was taken aback by the sudden burst of words.

"I know you've been through a lot, you have a lot of weight on your shoulders, and you are hurting. But now you can't even see me as someone who can be your friend. I want to prove that I am strong enough to help you, and I am strong enough to be your friend when you need me to! Before you would always win, that made you think I was too weak to help you progress forward. But I will win here and now! To show you I'm strong enough to help you carry that weight!"

Shoto stared at his cousin. Shoto did say he was weak, but not to hurt him. After the incident, he always saw himself in a different light. He saw himself as someone that should only steer towards his goal. His goal is to be a different person than what his father wanted him to be. The day he pushed Hakai away, he didn't want him to be stuck on the same path of spite he was on. When he gave Hakai that scar, it hurt him too, but he couldn't show it.

Shoto and his family, except his mother, had gone to the funeral of Hakai's parents. Though they had seen each other here and there, it was never the same. It was only ever a few words between them if that. The funeral was no different. After it was finished up, Hakai and Kaku had thank them for coming. But Hakai stayed there for a moment longer, as if there were more for him to say. But nothing was said. Shoto sometimes wished he himself would have said something then. Anything at all. So, the tension between them could lessen. But he didn't and only watched as the now orphaned boy walked away.

But to hear that Hakai hung on to their past friendship, evoked many different emotions. He was sad that he still caused him frustration all this time, angry that Hakai wouldn't let him go, and most of all, happy that their friendship meant so much to him.

Today Shoto had to push away the thoughts forcing him to inhibit himself. Push away the thoughts of his father's control. But now he had to embrace. Embrace who he was outside that control. Embrace the one who wants to be there for him. But he couldn't do this while only putting in half the effort when Hakai is showing him his true resolve.

"Roiyaru. No… Hakai. I'm sorry. I won't push away the things, the people, that want the best for me. So, I will embrace my power, and I will embrace your resolve!" Shoto left half blazed to life. Hakai looks down in shock for a few moments. But that face of shock quickly changed to the usual face of crazed glee. He strengthens his energy cloak and swoops down to Shoto. As he approached, Shoto shot a torrent of fire. Hakai Dodged to the side, not stopping, but he had to when a wall of ice erupted right in front of him. He stopped and quickly changed directions. When he did, Shoto slid around the wall on ice on the opposite side and shot another torrent of fire. Hakai puts his shield forward, blocking most of the fire, and charges for him. Shoto responded with a massive wave of ice covering half the stage. Hakai flew up just in time to avoid being overtaken in ice, having to break off some ice on the way up. Standing on top of the ice wall, he spreads his arms out. Blood starts flowing from his nose, as he shouts. "I've been working on this, but I haven't managed to perfect it. But I can't help but try this out anyway! 'Colossal Projection'!" After he finishes his last words, wisps take form in the air. The wisp grew and took form. A giant humanoid, standing many stories tall, began to take form, the hands and feet were solid and firm, but the rest of the body seemed to be unstable and almost fluid-like.

"Wooooah!" Present Mic Shouted as he gawked at the Projection. "What is that?! Aizawa, did you know about this?"

"Uh, No. No, I did not."

Hakai smiles down at Shoto, blood dripping from his mouth. He jumps down from the ice towards Shoto, and the giant's hand follows suit. Shoto pushed himself to the side with ice just before the massive hand slammed against the ground. As he comes to a stop Hakai was ready. Shoto swings up his arm, creating a wall of ice just in time for Hakai to smash it with his punch. Shoto pushes off the ground, climbing into the air with a wave of ice. Hakai quickly runs up the pillar to follow him, gaining on him quickly. Trying to put a stop to it, Shoto blasts fire down the pillar. Hakai quickly reformed the shield and blocks the attack. Seeing a looming shadow, he looks up seeing another giant hand coming to slam down on him. He jumps down just before the hand smashes down onto the pillar. He slows his fall by creating a slide of ice and landing on his feet at the end of the arena.

Hakai laughs in delight as he lands on the ground at the far end of the arena. He disperses the shield and holds the sword to his side. The energy colossus stands up straight behind Hakai. Hakai thinks back to a similar scene when they were children. Him standing ready for battle, his knife at the ready. Shoto ready his right-side bringing chill, and his left side giving off heat. Looking at the scene now, he's just as excited. But not for battle as he usually is, but because of the smile, he sees on Shoto's face that he hasn't seen in years.

Hakai puts both his hands on his sword, as he rises his energy cloak the highest that he can while the corresponding cuffs are on. Aura gives off of him as he gets ready to try and put a finish to this fight. Shoto rises to the challenge as fire and ice furiously grow over his body.

"It looks like this battle is reaching its climax!" Present Mic shouts, standing up from his seat.

Hakai zooms towards Shoto like a blur. Shoto was quick to react erupting ice from his foot and a torrent of fire from his hand. It honestly felt a little strange for him, using both at once, as he used to. But he likes it, and now he realizes how much he missed it. Hakai right before the ice hits him, the glacier gets smashed with a stomp for the colossus, shaking the ground. He twists out of the way of the fire, refusing to stop. Completing the spin, he lets off an energy slash with his sword. Shoto ducked the side, but that's just what Hakai wanted. He slides under another torrent of fire, dispersing his sword, closing in on Shoto. Hopping out of the way of a wall of ice, he gives a powerful punch to Shoto's cheek, sending him flying back. Due to the ice being damaged from Hakai's energy slash, Shoto breaks through, and lands out of bounds, smashing onto the ground.

"Torodoki Shoto is out-of-bounds! Roiyaru Hakai moves on to the final round!" The crowd erupts into cheers with that final announcement. Hakai stumbles over to Shoto and falls to his knee, feeling dizzy, tired, and cold. At this point, Hakai looked as if he was a victim of murder instead of the attacker. Blood slowly flowed from his nose, mouth, and even some pours on the skin around his body, but it was beginning to slowly stop.

Shoto sat up, leaning on his hands. Hakai looked over and chuckled as he spoke. "Was that enough?" Shoto was silent for a couple of seconds and begins to answer, but Hakai falls over onto the ground, passing out before he could.

It was almost time for the next battle. The crowd talked and mingled as the battle between Katsuki and Tenya would happen soon. Hakai sat next down next to Izuku, holding a towel up to his nose.

"Roiyaru? You out already?" Izuku asked.

"Yeah! Most of the problem was my head. My head is still killing me, and my nose is still bleeding a bit, but I'm okay enough to walk and watch."

"Doing you think you'll be okay for the next match?"

"I think so. But I'm definitely not doing something like before for a while."

"Alright! It's time for the next battle!" Present Mic shouts. "On one end we the loud boy with loud explosions, blasting his way to the top, Bakugo! And on the other end, the speedster of the event, dashing his way forward, Iida! Ready... Start!"

Katsuki blasts forward, ready to meet him. Iida jumps forward and tries to kick him while he was in the air. Katsuki blasts forward stopping his momentum, making the kick miss him. Katsuki tries to blast him again, but Iida lands and jumps back. Iida begins to run around Katsuki in a large circle. Katsuki watched him as he ran around, carefully analyzing him.

"Huh? It seems Bakugo immediately switched." Present Mic questioned.

"He knows that Iida is going to be constantly on the move, but he lacks range. Due to his speed, he's opted to have Iida make come to him, at least for now." Eraserhead responds.

After making a circle Iida comes to a stop. Touching his hands to the ground, he readies his Recipro Burst. Katsuki responds immediately by kneeling on the ground. "Recipro Burst!" Tenya jets forward, closing in on Katsuki, but just before reaching him, the boy blasts himself into the air. Predicting this would happen, Tenya jumps as high as he could and tries to deny a roundhouse kick to Bakugo's side. But with another blast, he pushes himself out of the way, and even higher into the sky. Tenya stared up in shock and desperation as he fell back to the ground. He couldn't reach Katsuki while he was in the air, as he had no way of getting up there. Katsuki looked down, not blasting his way towards Tenya just yet.

"Though Tenya's movements are quick and dangerous at close range," Aizawa starts. "He lacks aerial prowess. And with his short time with 'Recipro Burst', Bakugo opted for a short air session, using up his time."

Soon enough, Tenya's running slowed down as his engines were disabled for the moment. And like a lion pouncing on its prey, Katsuki blasted forward towards Tenya. Putting his hands together, he let off a big explosion he knew Tenya couldn't dodge with his current condition. He was knocked to the ground, and Katsuki capitalized on the opportunity. Getting right up to his face, he held his hands over Tenya his explosion ready to go off any second. As Tenya opened his eyes, Katsuki's sparking hands hovered over them.

Seeing that he was thoroughly pinned down, he was ready to admit defeat. "I surrender."

"Iida surrenders! Bakugo moves on to the next round!" Present Mic announces.

"You used it a bit too soon," Katsuki mentions as he stands up. "When someone's in the air, you're practically helpless."

"Alright!" Present Mic shouts. "That was the end of the semi-finals! With this, the final match will be between Bakugo and Roiyaru!" Hakai looks to Katsuki from the stands with a smile, and he looks back with an equally eager grin.

"I didn't take long for Kacchan to take advantage of Tenya's weakness," Izuku mentions with his fingers on his chin.

"He used his burst pretty early, but then again," Kiminari thinks out loud. "With Bakugo's aerial mobility, he couldn't let him act on that in a prolonged battle."

Hakai stands up and walks towards the waiting rooms. "Leaving already?" Momo asks.

"Yep. I gotta get my head in the game for this next match. It's the finals and I'm up against Katsuki, not to mention I'm still a bit messed up from my energy usage earlier."

"I knew you were going to overdo it."

"I'm fine! Mostly... I just can't do things like that for the rest of the day." Hakai laughs. "But it's alright. This just means I'll have to be a bit more clever." Leaving the seats, he passes by Shoto. They both share a look, before speaking.

"Good luck, Hakai."

"heh, thanks I'm going to need it."

"I'd like to speak with you when all this is over. I have some things I'd like to speak with you about."

"Sure! Whenever you're ready." Hakai smiles patting his friend on the back. Shoto's face made a small smile as the boy with black and white hair strolled by.

"It's almost time!" Yūgure exclaim, jumping around. "It's so exciting!" She grabs and shakes Burunei by his shoulders, causing him to laugh.

"This is getting me excited for the rest of the games. If the first years are this fun, the next two days are surely going to take my breath away."

"I know!" Yūgure smiles, shaking him more.

In a waiting room, Hakai sat in the chair, relaxing against the back, facing up to the ceiling. His eyes are closed and his breaths slow, taking in the silence. But this was quickly interrupted by the crash of the door slamming open. He looked over to see a confused Bakugo staring at him.

"The hell are you doing here? This is the waiting room... two? Damn." Hakai chuckled at Katsuki's blunder. "Oh, shut up."

"It's kinda funny," Hakai smiles.

"Whatever. You just better bring your all in the fight. Now that I've seen what you can do without those cuffs on, I won't take any less!"

"You know I can't. I'm already drained as it is. If I go that hard again, it could be really bad. When I was younger, I had to be hospitalized for days after I went too far."

"Come on! You can't give me that showing and then hold off on me!"

"Okay, okay. Let's make a deal. If you beat me in this battle, I'll make sure to bring it out next time we go at it."

"Then I'll make sure to thoroughly kick your ass this time!"

"Heh," Hakai stands up holding out his hand. "We'll see about that!" Bakugo shakes his hand sealing the deal with a grin.

"Bring it on!"

The crowd cheers and shouts all around the arena, ready for the final match. The already loud roars became even louder when the two contestants appeared, walking towards the center of the arena.

"AlllllRight!" Present might exclaims. "In one corner, the explosive boy, with an explosive temper, Bakugo Katsuki! On the other, energizing the crowd with every battle, Roiyaru Hakai!" The two contenders stopped in the middle, facing each other. "Let's get this battle going! Ready... Start!"

Immediately, the two rushed at each other. His body energized, Hakai started with a forward jab. Katsuki pushed his hand to the side, following it up with his ready for an explosion. Hakai then stepped to the side, the explosion going off away from his body, and tried to follow up with a counter, but Katsuki blocked the hit and tried a counter of his own. The two were a blur of movements as they tried to land a good hit on one another.

"Woah! This battle is already getting intense! Throwing blows non-stop."

Aizawa follows up with his own commentary. "They both really want to land the first blow. Quite often the one who lands the first blow has the advantage. That doesn't always hold up and is a basic fundamental. But even in the pro scene, it still holds some truth."

"Their blows are coming so fast," Mashirao mentions, watching the battle intently. "they're trying to find an opening, but they quickly to defend the incoming blows."

"Midoriya said they trained together a lot before coming to U.A., so they must also be very familiar with each other's moves despite Bakugo's aggressive style and Roiyaru's chaotic nature."

Suddenly Hakai jumped up and performed a roundhouse kick directed at Katsuki's head. He ducked down, Hakai's leg flying over. Gravity brings him back to the ground, he continues the momentum of the kick toward Katsuki's legs. Ready for this, he jumps into the air avoiding the kick. But Roiyaru finishes spinning but standing up, and delivering a straight front kick. Katsuki quickly put his arms together, taking Hakai's kick with them, getting sent back.

Stopping himself with explosions from his hands, Katsuki blasts himself forward, back towards Hakai. Getting ready for the hot-temped boy's next encounter, he took a strong rear-foot stance, his arms ready. As he came in, Hakai leans his body forward to dodge the incoming strike and performs a cross-counter. The punch hits his target, landing on Katsuki's cheek. Refusing to stop the encounter, Katsuki grabs the scar-faced boy by the arm and pulls him back with him. With his opponent off-stance, Bakugo blasts the center of his chest. Flying back into a roll, he recovers into a dash back to Bakugo. The mentioned boy slides to a stop in front of Roiyaru, putting his hands together.

"How about this?" Katsuki shouts as he makes a massive explosion. Hakai jumped back and braced with his arms crossed, and he was sent sliding across the ground. Running through the smoke, Katsuki thrusts his hands for another blast. Grabbing his arm, Hakai twisted his body and threw him high into the air, before jumping up and flying after him.

"This aggressive battle has gone into the air!" Present Mic exclaims to the booming crowd.

Leveling in the air, Katsuki narrowly dodges a flying kick, both not the punch that followed up after. Quickly regaining his poise, he dodges the next kick flying close to Hakai's face and lets off an explosion, barely giving time for him to put his arms up, marking his arms. Katsuki lands back on the ground and looks up to his friend and opponent. Creating a pane in the air, he steps onto it. His breaths get heavy as blood trickles from the side of his mouth. He was already pushing it, still drained from earlier. But Hakai smiles, wiping the blood with his thumb. Hakai looks down and seeing his eyes, Katsuki blasts upwards. Hakai slides the pane, making Bakugo miss his explosion. Quickly Hakai conjures chains, throws them around the blonde's body and yanks him closer, and delivers a powerful kick. This sends Katsuki into the air, clutching his stomach in pain. Recovering, Katsuki Blasts himself high above the stadium. On his way up, Katsuki began letting off small explosions that twisted his body and made a smokey whirlwind around him. Hakai looked high into the sky, as he rose. Soon his climb stopped and began falling back to the ground, fast.

"Woah! He's drawing in oxygen as he's falling down, and adding momentum to his strike!" Present Mic shouts standing up.

So, you're looking to end this? Hakai redirected his energy to his arm, the aura becoming thick, and gets ready to throw a strong punch. Bring it on!

"I think this reaching the final clash!"

"Howitzer...!"

"Shatter...!"

Two opponents met and threw their hands forward.

"Impact!"

"Strike!"

Hakai's fist met Katsuki's stomach just as he was blown away by the boy's massive explosion. The stadium was immediately filled with smoke and rubble blocking the view of the two opponents.

"The two scaled met and tried to edge out the other in power," Aizawa speaks as the smoke begins to clear.

"But who won the exchange?!" Present Mic questions. Dust falling and smoke clearing, Bakugo was on the ground, on the edge of the arena, slowly pushing himself up. Roiyaru was on his back, breathing heavily, outside the arena. Midnight observed two and raised her hand into the air.

"Roiyaru is out-of-bounds! Bakugo wins!" And with that, the crowd erupts into cheers.

"All the events have been completed! The winner of this year's first-year festival is Bakugo Katsuki!"

Fireworks burst high into the air, as a podium rises into the arena. Shoto stood on the third-place platform, Hakai stood in second place, and Katsuki stood in first. Hakai's mind faded as he thought to himself. He worried about Tenya and hopes things turn out okay for his brother. He was always a nice person. But other than I bad news, I'm happy that I and Shoto are finally beginning to understand each other. I'll do my best to keep this bond, no matter how long.

All Might presents the medals to the students. He starts with Shoto.

"Young Torodoki, congratulations." He says as he puts the medal around his neck. "I can see by the look on your face that something has changed within you today."

"With my fight with Midoriya, I had a chance to forget some things that were holding me back. I've always wanted to be a hero like you, but for a long time, the road there became fuzzy. For a short time in that battle, thanks to him, it became clear. I can see why you have an interest in him. And with Hakai, I remembered that I have people that will always be by my side. All this time, I thought he hated me, but I now understand what angered him. It was who I was becoming, and he wanted to help me. He's always been like that. Today has put a lot of thoughts in my head, and If I want to continue, there are some things I must settle."

"I have no doubt that that will have the strength to do what you need to. I won't ask about the details, but do know that I'm happy to see you grow young Torodoki." After a quick hug and a pat, he moves on to Hakai, giving him his medal. "Young Roiyaru, congratulations. Even after giving your all in a previous battle, you continued on to fight to honor your fellow contestants. You've shown everyone a good time and a glimpse into what type of hero you will be going forward."

"Thank you. When we fight here, we're not only trying to be seen to get into the hero business but to show the world what the next generation has in store. I want them to know that I will keep fighting to the end, for the safety of my family, for the loyalty to my friends, and for the protection of the future. For those things, I must keep fighting. And my battle with Shoto today has let me know that those things are still worth fighting for. I want us to be able to trust and depend on each other the way I know we can."

"It is good to have things to fight for. That drive you have is bright and will help you in the lowest of times. And when you are a hero, know that your fellow heroes will be there to fight by your side." After a firm handshake and pat on the back, he moves on to Katsuki and gives him his medal. "Congratulations Katsuki. You worked hard to overcome this festival. I hope you have come to understand your future comrades a little more, and they understand you."

"I came to win and everyone should have too. Both in the arena and in the pro hero scene, people depend on you to succeed. I will succeed and will be the best, it's as simple as that. Though everyone is fighting for different things, it's all about their will to get better and succeed. I have to keep getting better and succeeding, especially if I want to be the number one hero."

"I see. I must say there is some truth to your words. It is true that being able to succeed for the people is the cornerstone of being a hero, you must also keep in mind that holding the world's problems on your shoulder could be dangerous as a hero. So keep training Bakugo, keep winning so that you will be strong enough to keep standing tall when the world becomes ever heavier." With a hardy handshake and a pat on the back, All Might turns to the other students and the audience. "These are the first-year winners! But know this! Anyone could have been up there! Competing and pushing each other to improve! The next generation is sprouting! So there's only one more thing to say! Say it with me, everyone! Ready!..."

"Plus Ultra!"

"Thanks for your hard work!" All Might said over the audience. It was quickly followed by 'boos' from the crowd.

"Good Job, everyone," Aizawa announces. "School will be out for the next two days for the second and third-year festivals. I'm sure the pro heroes who saw the event will want to recruit you. We'll discuss this more when you get back. So rest up and look forward to it."

"Yes, sir!" the class responds in unison. After, the class was dismissed. As everyone was leaving, Izuku felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, do you mind if I talked with you for a moment? I need to speak with you."

"Oh, sure! What about?"

"Just follow me, please."

"Okay?" Izuku asks confused. He follows his friend to the roof. When they walked out, Hakai closes the door behind them. "So what did you want to talk about?"

After a small silence, Hakai spoke up. "We're friends, right? We can trust each other?"

"Yes, of course!" Izuku smiled to give him reassurance. Maybe he wanted to tell him something and he wanted him to feel at ease. Hakai sighed and sits on the edge.

"What's the deal between you and All Might?" He asked clearly. This caught Izuku off guard, causing him to stumble over his words.

"W-What? I just admire him a lot! My q-quirk is very similar to his, so-"

"Yes, about your quirk. It is very similar to All Might. One could even same that they are all the same. And given the very little information known about his quirk, it's a bit weird. During the incident at USJ, you punched the Nomu straight on. When All Might came you warned him that could take 'One-for...' but you stopped." at this point Izuku was getting visibly nervous. A drop of sweat slid down his face. "Then All Might started to fight it, and the pressure from your full power punches felt just like his. Then today, I had Amelia record all the battles, and while naming your moves in a similar way to All Might could just be seen as a fan paying homage, the power of your moves are, again, similar to things we've seen from All Might. This all brings me back to the time after the battle trials when I overheard a conversation between you and Katsuki, where you told him that the quirk you have wasn't originally yours and you couldn't fully control it. You told him you couldn't tell who it originally belonged to, but the talk you had with All Might pretty much confirms a connection. So, Izuku. Do you want to tell me about it?"

"Hakai... I would try to deny it, but I don't know if I can at this point."

"I know you are keeping this a secret for a reason, but with what I know, it may be better to let me know what secret I'm going to be protecting."

"Yes, you may be right..." Izuku mumbles quietly. "I'm sorry to have kept this from but as you heard I couldn't risk people finding out."

"You don't need to apologize. Though maybe be a bit more careful with how you keep your secrets."

"We should talk to All Might about this. I probably shouldn't say more without him knowing." Izuku said, gesturing back inside. "I didn't know I was being watched so carefully."

"Most of it was me catching it in passing. I just had to put the pieces together." The two silently walk to the administration office, both of their thoughts racing over the same things. Izuku knocks on the door and waits until Midnight answers.

"Oh, Midoriya. What do you need?"

"Is All Might here? We need to speak with him. It's important."

Midnight looks between him and Hakai, seeing their serious faces, and nods her head. After a few moments, All Might emerges.

"Young Midoriya and Young Roiyaru. What can I do for you?"

"I see..." Toshinori then deflated to his normal form. "It would seem you figured out our basic connection but not the specifics. This would usually be a danger, but maybe this isn't such a bad thing. I have faith you will keep this between us. But here it is..." He then goes on to explain the situation to Hakai. Izuku paid attention to his friend's face. The small emotions on his face. After he was done Hakai was quiet.

"Hakai, are you okay?" But the scar-faced boy gave no answer. After a while of thinking, he spoke.

"I think I'll keep my deeper feelings of this to myself for now. But you don't have to worry, I want to help. Besides, at least I know what secret I'm supposed to be protecting." A wary smile creeps onto Izuku's face. "Maybe I can help you keep quiet about it." This remark causes them both to laugh. Toshinori shook his head with his hand on his face, but he still kept a smile. "This also helps understand your quirk. You're struggling to control it, and it is something I understand. My mother taught me that the more I used my quirk, the quicker I'd get used to it. She told me how to slowly increase the power in my core." He said, gesturing to his midsection just above the metal cuff. "Maybe it's the same for you? But then again, every time you use 'One for All', you almost blow your limbs off, so going straight into core full power could be dangerous. But whatever you decide to do, I'll help you along the way." Smiling and giving a thumbs up, Izuku couldn't help but do the same.

"Thank you, Hakai..." Izuku happily responds.
