Marinette sighed.

She glanced at herself in the mirror with a sharp eye. Her wound had been healing nicely, but she couldn't get her mind off her belly.

She was only four weeks pregnant, yet here she was speculating her belly as if she were gonna show anytime soon.

She pouted, lightly putting her hand onto her belly. She twisted her hips, being sure to get every angle of her torso before she'd become bigger than a house.

"I think you're overthinking again." Adrien murmured from behind her. "You're still in your first trimester. You aren't gonna show yet." He laughed softly. Adrien climbed off the bed and carefully approached her from behind.

He placed his arms around her waist, drawing her closer.

Marinette pouted, leaning into her husband with a small sigh. She kept her eyes trained to the mirror, her flat tummy was soon going to be the size of a watermelon.

She just wasn't sure how she would feel about that when the time came.

Part of her was ecstatic. She always wanted to be a parent and in fact she recalled the many times she nearly bled from the nose when she caught herself daydreaming about mothering Adrien's children.

However, she did remember the birth of Taliah, and she knew she'd be lying to herself if she said she wasn't nervous about being in labour.

"I'm going to be so big, I won't fit through the door." She muttered, blushing as Adrien gently placed both hands on to her belly.

"I'm sure that's an exaggeration." Adrien murmured into her ear delicately before placing a gentle kiss to her skin. "You're gonna be beautiful forever. Pregnant belly and all." He gently pulled away, keeping his hands on her flat tummy.

"You're so small..." he breathed, biting his lip as he kept his voice soothing for the small baby growing inside of her. "But I can't wait to meet you."

Albeit being surprised at first after learning of his wife's pregnancy, he couldn't be any happier to know that he was finally going to be a father.

His own father was cold to him, this was Adrien's chance to give a little one what he couldn't get.

He had a little piece of him, created with the one he loved the most. He couldn't wait to spoil and raise a child with Marinette.

Marinette blushed, her heart racing within her chest as Adrien moved around her and descended to his knee so that he could plant loving kisses to her belly.

"I love you already my little one."

She couldn't help but to giggle, she was incredibly ticklish, but Adrien always knew how to make things so awkward.

Or perhaps that was just how she portrayed it.

"Adrien!" Marinette giggled. "The baby is still so small! There's no way they can hear you."

Adrien pressed another kiss to her belly, being sure not to caress her patched up wound on the left side.

"I will tell the baby I love you until they're bigger and can hear me. In fact, I'm going to keep telling your belly I love it until you give birth." Adrien teased before he stood up to swathe his arms around his wife completely.

"I'm so happy. I know it's a bit nerve wracking but I'm excited that we're gonna be parents. Everything just seemed to pan out perfectly. All that's left now is a baby shower where we can get all our baby clothes." Adrien paused as he pondered. "We need to come up with names so that we know what to call the baby when its born. I'm glad we have the extra space because we have the room to set up a place for the baby to sleep. Don't you need prenatal vitamins? Maybe we should go to the store for some. I think we should talk with the doctor the next time we see one and...and... we should make sure you're not all your feet all day when you work down at the bar or go to school. You know what? You're not to go anywhere without a ride from my bodyguard. We both need to prepare for when the day comes. I know it'll be mentally exhausting especially for you. After what I saw in that video I really need to keep you safe and prepared..."

Marinette blinked, a small chuckle emanated from her throat as Adrien rambled. She saw a first time father completely losing his marbles at the thought of going through the pregnancy and the birth of their first child.

Of course Marinette was only four weeks pregnant, they still had a long way to go. She wanted to worry about that when the time came to it, but she knew that Adrien was still scarred from the video Nino had showed him prior to Taliah's birth.

Marinette leaned in, sealing his mouth with a kiss.

Adrien's voice drowned out the moment she silenced him and he was truly grateful.

It was a calming act for him, and he wanted nothing more than to be with his wife and new child.

He closed his eyes, his lips following hers as the two of them kissed each other with divine passion.

He slowly pulled away, a small blush on his cheeks as it matched hers.

"Do you need anything? Back rub? Foot rub? You wouldn't even have to walk anymore. I'll carry you everywhere you go!" Adrien murmured, brushing some loose hair from her face.

Marinette chuckled, blushing even deeper at the thought of Adrien carrying her around everywhere.

"Adrien! I'm only four weeks, and I have two legs. I promise I'll be fine wherever I walk to." Marinette reassured with a small smile. "But I appreciate the offer."

Adrien smiled at her, his hand caressing the uninjured part of her belly with a soft hum.

"I don't tell you this enough, but I'd like you to never forget about how much I love and appreciate you." He whispered, leaning forward to give her a soft kiss to her lips. "I'm madly in love with you. I know that will never change."

Marinette blushed, her eyes widening a bit as her face grew even more red from his words alone.

She knew Adrien truly felt strong for her, and in fact, she felt strongly for him as well. But there was something in the way that he expressed his adoration and love for her that never failed to knock the wind from her.

She reached up, slowly touching his face with a shaking hand.

Her thumb caressed his cheek with a warm smile. Her heart soared within her chest and Marinette wanted nothing more than to be held by him.

"I love you, too..." she whispered. "More than you could possibly imagine." She leaned forward, giving him a gentle kiss to his lips.

"Aw, you two are so sweet. I think I might just develop diabetes." A voice emanated from behind the two of them.

Adrien and Marinette slowly pulled away, their brows puckered in curiosity as the couple turned to see where the voice was coming from.

Alya and Nino stood in the doorway of their bedroom. Nino smiled at the both of them, holding the baby carriage gently as to not wake their little one.

Marinette blushed, wondering how much of their conversation they heard. She knew Adrien broke the news of their pregnancy to Nino, and it went without a doubt that Nino had told Alya.

It was only natural to think that Alya may have had a lot of questions for Marinette.

"Hey..." Marinette breathed, suddenly realizing that they should possibly move the spare key outside. "We have a lot to catch up on." Marinette slowly pulled away from Adrien reluctantly.

"That's right!" Alya piped, carefully stepping inside the room with a small smile. "Do you mind if I have a little word with your wife?" She asked. "She's gotta lot of explaining to do." She explained, crossing her arms with a devilish grin.

Adrien chuckled, his hands slowly withdrawing from Marinette's hips much to her dismay. Marinette frowned, watching as Adrien stepped away from her so that he could wander closer to Nino and Taliah.

"As long as you bring her back in one piece. You know I'll be in a few times to check. Cut her some slack, she's newly pregnant." Adrien murmured, winking at Marinette before leaving the room.

Alya rolled her eyes towards Marinette, her arms crossing as her expression turned to complete shock.

"You're pregnant?" Alya mused, perking a brow as her eyes grew wider. "I didn't even know you were having sex! When did you change on me? You were always the innocent sweet Marinette who got good grades in school and never had sex a day in her life!"

Marinette pressed her lips together, her face growing more and more red. She knew Alya would plague her the moment she found out she was pregnant.

"W-Well, I don't exactly go around talking about my sex life." Marinette sputtered nervously. "I-I mean, I'm going to be growing soon. So that evidence will show itself later on..."

"With Adrien!" Alya exclaimed, a wide smile on her lips. "Its like I don't even know you anymore!" She teased. "I can't believe you're making me an auntie!"

Marinette groaned, covering her face as it was growing impossibly hot.

"I get it..." Marinette whined. "I know how pregnancy works. I'm actually just as surprised as you are. I'm more in disbelief that Adrien and I are going to be parents." Marinette whispered, sliding her hands into her hair and gently tugging at it. "My parents are gonna freak out. They wanted grandchildren."

"But that's a good thing!" Alya assured, moving closer to Marinette so that she could swathe her arms around her trembling friend. "Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. Being a mom is incredibly rewarding. Sure, there are days where Nino and I don't get sleep, but it's totally worth it. The love you feel for your little one is unlike any love you could possibly experience."

Marinette leaned into her friend, allowing her words to sink inside of her head. A small smile stretched on to her lips and Marinette hugged her friend back.

If she were being honest, she only ever dreamed about being a parent with Adrien. She got to hold a tiny human that they both created together out of love. It was truly a dream come true.

"T-Thank you." Marinette murmured, holding her friend tighter. "And not just for the congrats, but for everything. For being here for me the whole time." Marinette whispered, pulling away so that she could look at her friend.

Alya smiled warmly at the young woman before she nodded delicately.

"Of course babe." She replied softly. "That's what friends do for one another. You're like a sister to me."

Marinette smiled before she wrapped her arms around Alya once more, drawing her into a deep hug. The two women enjoyed each other's embrace with a small smile. It was nice having these talks. It always made the two incredibly close. Marinette never ceased to realise just how important Alya was in her life.

She was grateful to have a friend like her. Yeah, she teased her alot but it always came from a place of love. That was just how their relationship was. Just two siblings playing around and teasing one another.

"Oh!" Alya piped slowly pulling away from Marinette with an inquisitive expression. "Nino let it slip to me that they ran into that piece of rotting garbage that attacked you in the club last year."

Marinette felt her heart drop. She pressed her lips together at the memory. The last thing she wanted to think about was what happened that night or even think about- him.

She'd much rather think about her pregnancy and the family she was about to start with Adrien.

"Both Nino and Adrien said they took care of him. Said you wouldn't have to worry about him bumping into him or bothering him again." Alya continued, her brow perking as her confusion only matched Marinette's.

Marinette furrowed her brow, her head cocking to the side.

"W-What did they do to him?" She asked, her heart squeezing inside her chest.

Alya shrugged, her bottom lip catching within her teeth. "I've got no idea, but they wouldn't tell me what they did to him. I even punched Nino and he still wouldn't admit what they did. All they said was that you wouldn't have to worry about him ever again."

Marinette sighed, shaking her head.

"Adrien doesn't have enough money to protect him from a murder charge. They better tell us what they did."

Alya chuckled, shaking her head with a small smile. "I don't think they murdered him, but I do suspect they scared the snot out of him, or they pummeled him real good." Alya explained.

Marinette shook her head lightly before looking away. "Although I'm curious, if I don't ever have to see that creep again, I'll take that." She glanced over at Alya. "All I want to do now is focus on my baby and the family that I'm about to start. I have to tell my parents..." she glanced down at her belly. "But I want to wait until this heals first." She lifted her shirt, revealing the patched up stitches of her stab wound. "If I go home like this my parents would freak out more so about my stabbing than my pregnancy."

Alya nodded, her eyes lowering to Marinette's flat tummy. "I still can't believe she did that to you." She glanced up at Marinette. "You know that if I were here, I would've beaten the shit-"

"Trust me, it's really fine." Marinette interjected carefully. "What matters is that I'm alive and well. I have a new baby to worry about."

Marinette pressed her lips together, her heart racing as she truly did feel bad for Kagami. She had a moment of weakness and she reached maximum mental prolapse. Her intentions weren't to hurt Marinette. Marinette only got hurt because she tried to grab the knife from her.

Nonetheless, it was another night in her life that she just wanted to forget. If Kagami didn't leave Paris before, she sure as hell did now.

"I just need you to teach me your pregnancy prowess." Marinette continued. "I've never been pregnant before and you've already finished yours. Maybe you could give me some tips and advice so that I could relax when I eventually get as big as a house!"

Alya stared at her for a moment. Of course she wanted to touch base of what happened that night. But from the look on her face, she knew it would be better to just drop the subject.

"Of course..." Alya murmured. "You know I'll always be here for you. I know our children will be the best of friends."

Marinette smiled, finally relaxing for the first time in forever.

"Thank you..."
