Izuku winced once the call to his mom ended. Bulma had been nice enough to let him borrow her phone to call her, and Inko was beyond angry. The second they got home from their little adventure, he was being put in an extended time out. What his mom and aunt Chichi called a "grounding".
Gohan was jealous, but Izuku would call him every chance he could. Bulma had been nice enough to give him a portable phone that was extra sturdy and could save a few numbers into it.
Izuku found her workshop fascinating, and Bulma's dad was more than happy to explain what each item was. He could have spent hours in there, looking around. Dr. Briefs was even nice enough to give Izuku a small tool kit and a spare phone to play around with.
Some months later...
Inko was beyond herself with worry. The second the cloud landed, she went right to her son and hugged him. Phones simply didn't cut it, and her son wasn't even five yet.
Izuku hugged his mother tightly, and looked none the worse for wear. Some of his baby fat was gone, and replaced with a slight amount of muscle.
"You are in so much trouble, young man!" she scolded him.
"But Mama, we found all seven!"
"Do you have any idea how worried I was when I couldn't find you?" she said. Izuku looked downcast, as he knew he had upset his mother.
That being said, even Inko was highly curious to the ritual needed to bring Bardock and Gine back.
Inko held her son tightly, so he didn't get any more...ideas. Chichi was doing the same with Gohan, for similar reasons. He had been very unhappy his big brother had gone on an adventure without him.
Seeing the massive dragon was humbling, in a way. Even someone as untrained as Inko could feel the power behind the creature.
State your wish.
"I wish for Bardock and Gine of the Saiyan race to be brought back here, on Earth!" he said clearly.
Chichi had been very clear on the wish they were after, and wanted no mistakes. They had no idea where Goku's parents were killed, and they didn't want to wait months if not years for them to arrive.
This was highly pragmatic, and meant he could get the maximum amount of training done with his father. Besides, the women were eager to meet their mother-in-law.
So be it.
The Dragonballs flashed, as they took effect. Goku was very quick to snag the four star ball before it disappeared, as he had no interest in the others unless they needed them for a wish. It would only take a year for them to return to normal anyway.
It was rather surreal, being face to face with an older, more serious version of Goku. It was clear where he got his looks from. Chichi and Inko were more interested in the woman beside him.
The woman didn't have her tail wrapped around her waist like the boys, and instead let it move freely. She had a soft onyx colored eyes and shaggy black hair. She also wore armor, but it was a lesser version of her husband's.
She took one look at Gohan and Izuku, and almost squealed with feminine delight.
Something passed between the three women, which lead to Inko and Chichi relaxing.
Outside the home of Chichi and Goku...
Bardock looked at his son with some approval. While Goku was as soft-hearted as his mother, he had a decent amount of strength. Not enough to be noteworthy among his peers, but enough to work with.
Gine on the other hand was cooing over her grandchildren, and soon found an easy rapport with the two other women.
"They are adorable!" she gushed. "How old are they?"
"Izuku is five, and Gohan is about three," said Chichi cheerfully.
She was willfully ignoring the sounds of Goku getting his ass handed to him. While he had kept Izuku alive for four months, he also failed to do the responsible thing of returning said child back to his mother immediately. He completely deserved having his own father beat him to the ground in the name of training.
Inko was too busy fussing over her son, while he cheerfully explained the 'adventure' he had with his father. Several points in his story had Inko ready to strangle Goku barehanded, once Bardock was done with him.
She could only feel relieved when Izuku proudly showed her his new 'toy', which was the tool kit and phone he had been modifying during their downtime.
It was mostly him taking it apart, but the fact he could roughly figure out where things were supposed to go was fairly impressive.
Bardock returned, looking like he had undergone a mild jog...while Goku looked like death warmed over.
"Did you have fun?" asked Gine.
"He's acceptable," said Bardock.
He was rather pleased his two daughters-in-law said nothing over Goku's condition. In fact the mother of his eldest grandson (the one who contacted him) looked darkly pleased. To be fair, his son had done a subpar job of training his eldest.
~*~*~*~
Two years later...
Raditz coughed up some blood, as the punch Kakarot had given him was surprisingly powerful for someone so weak hearted. At least he had shown some competence by procreating, though he was dubious about how strong the younger of the two was.
The fight between them was paltry at best, and Raditz knew his younger brother would never beat Nappa, much less Vegeta.
Kakarot seemed unconcerned about his lack of combat prowess...almost as if he were expecting something. Or rather...someone.
The Namekian suddenly turned his head to the West, as if sensing something. Raditz's scouter went off, warning him of a powerful force heading his way at speed.
So Kakarot wasn't the strongest fighter on this planet. Raditz smirked, anticipating the challenge already.
"Who the hell is that? I've never felt power levels so strong!" said Piccolo.
"Oh good, they did get the message. I bet she's not happy this idiot tried to kidnap the kids," said Goku with relief.
"Who?" said Piccolo, keeping his eyes on Raditz.
"Gine," said Goku, as if that explained everything.
Raditz eyes narrowed.
There was no possible way his mother survived the destruction of the planet. He would have known about it, especially since it would have made her one of the only female Saiyans to survive.
Raditz went to attack, only for Kakarot to come up from behind and grab him by his tail. He sneered at the Namekian, who had no hesitation attacking not just him, but his temporary ally as well.
Piccolo was horrified, not only because the device that Raditz had on him was transmitting to a pair of stronger fighters, but also because Raditz wasn't actually dead...just severely wounded.
The older of the two brothers sat up, and was fully prepared to kill Piccolo despite being heavily wounded.
At least, he would have had someone else not shown up at that point. Raditz stared at the older man in shock, especially when he threw a nasty punch laying him out flat.
Raditz coughed up blood, as he was still badly wounded from the blast.
"You...how is this possible?" he said, coughing.
The older man who bore a strong resemblance to Goku, snatched the device off Raditz and easily turned off the comm feature. He didn't worry about the pod, since Gohan had destroyed it.
Bardock cast a glance at his younger son, looking utterly annoyed with him.
"If I didn't know about those blasted objects, I'd be very angry right now," he commented. "As it stands I'm tripling Kakarot's training the second he gets back."
Raditz stared at his father in shock, which only got worse when his mother appeared as well.
He knew damn well Bardock had died years ago. Frieza had made very sure that he watched that video, especially since it was his own father who rebelled. Raditz didn't know why his father had done so, but he was at least pleased that Bardock had fought so hard that even Frieza had reluctantly admitted him to be a 'proud member of the Saiyan race'.
Piccolo was giving Bardock and Gine odd looks, and would have attacked Raditz if they had been alone.
Gine was currently helping Izuku out of the crater, as he had a minor bruise but was otherwise fine from the blast. Gohan had worn himself out escaping.
Bardock glared at Raditz.
"What exactly possessed you to track your brother down when I deliberately sent him as far away from the known quadrants just to keep him away from Frieza?" he demanded.
"We needed an extra to help us take a planet, and I remembered you sent Kakarot off to be an infiltration baby," said Raditz.
Bardock was beyond annoyed.
"I did not rise up against the asshole who killed me and destroyed our home planet just for you to drag your brother into his service!"
Raditz stared at him, and he barely stayed standing when his own mother slapped him for scaring the boys.
He was in for a long, long year because Bardock was not letting his little stunt stand. Especially since he saw how weak Raditz was, despite having far more powerful opponents to train against, unlike Kakarot!
Chichi and Inko were not amused that Bardock allowed someone like Piccolo to take both boys with him, mostly to toughen them up since they'd need all the help they could get against the two coming.
Besides, Gohan really needed the conditioning.
~*~*~*~*~
Raditz found himself being given the riot act by his mother, and the only reason he hadn't ditched the lecture was the fact that Bardock was blocking the lone exit and clearly planned to beat him into submission if he attempted to escape.
As it was, Bardock was getting his own lecture from Kakarot's two mates (and how exactly had he pulled that off was a mystery Raditz would dearly love to solve) for allowing the Namekian to leave with their sons.
To be fair, Bardock made it clear he could honestly care less about the fact that he had allowed the Namekian known as "Piccolo" to take the boys. Gohan was overdue some proper conditioning, and his mother coddled him entirely too much.
The amount of whining he had to put up with just to get a proper training session out of the boy was absolutely ridiculous, and he'd be ruined as a fighter at the rate she was going.
Besides, Izuku was with him. The boy was a master strategist and ate up anything Bardock taught him about defeating an opponent with minimal resources like a damn sponge.
He still didn't get the boy's odd fascination with this "All Might" person, but Bardock was absolutely confident he could take this pro hero and win with ease.
Though he did have to wonder how the Namekian would react once the boys fell under the effects of the full moon. Should be hilarious.
On the island with Piccolo and the boys...
Piccolo was swearing, as no one had warned him of the effects the full moon had on Saiyans that still had their tails. Gohan had been stranded on a large rock, and Izuku was still too small to fly up that high without help. While he had left some apples for the brat, as he didn't want the kid to starve he hadn't expected the kid to go completely berserk the second the full moon came up.
He might have panicked about it too, except for one fact. Izuku had also transformed, but unlike the younger sibling, he was in full control.
He looked more confused than anything, and was actually helping Piccolo reign in his younger brother.
Finally, the elder had enough and smacked the younger into the ground, dazing him. He took Gohan's tail and bit it clean off. Gohan began to shrink immediately, and Piccolo used a bit of power to turn the severed tail into a proper sword. The kid was vastly weaker than his older brother, mostly due to the influence of Chichi.
At least Izuku had been permitted to train with the old staff Goku had inherited from his grandfather. He even had the thing on him when Raditz attacked, but had been more focused on protecting Gohan than attacking.
Piccolo looked to the one he assumed was Izuku.
"Do you think you can control that aspect of yourself until morning?"
Izuku looked at him...and slowly nodded. He was still going to need a new outfit after this, since the transformation had utterly shredded his clothing.
Then he did something to throw Piccolo off even further. He spoke, despite being a giant ape.
"Bardock-jii-san said he was surprised that we hadn't transformed before, but our mom's always made us go to bed before the moon rose."
"You can talk as a giant ape...why am I not surprised," said Piccolo. He looked like he had a massive headache. "What else did your...grandfather...tell you?"
"Anyone with Saiyan heritage, at least enough to have tails, get stronger from fighting. Our growth is ex-po-nen-tial-ly tied to big fights. I think he meant we get a major ex-per-ie-nce boost from them, compared to everyone else."
One thing that made Chichi and Inko reluctantly train the boys was the fact he didn't try to 'dumb down' things to the kids. He used big words that the boys would later look up how to pronounce and what they meant. Izuku more than Gohan, since Bardock had personally taken his eldest grandson under his wing. It didn't help that Chichi was still overprotective of her first born.
Goku might be a pure fighter, but Izuku was a thinker much like Bardock himself. His skill at analyzing an opponent was almost supernatural, and Bardock was determined to train it as high as he could.
Even if that meant having to watch hours upon hours of this All Might character, which he disliked for being so "wishy-washy" in his words. He'd be more effective if he actually trained instead of relying on this whole quirk nonsense.
