"Yes, sex."

"Yes, Grissom! S-E-X. Sex. Do I have to explain to you what it means?"

"No, I remember how that goes, Catherine." He answered with a twinkle in his eye. "So let me get this straight, *you* had sex with the new *D.A.*?"

"Well not anytime recently."

"So when did this illicit tryst happen?"

She gave him an odd look and shook her head, "Have you been reading romance novels?"

"Yes, of course. Don't you?" He shot back with a grin.

She rolled her eyes, "It was in high school. He was the star quarterback and I was..."

"Lemme guess, the head cheerleader?"

"Yes." She answered confidently, denying him any chance to tease her about being a stereotypical cheerleader, "It was all very messy and convoluted. Your basic high school romance, really."

"But Kyle Price is such a..."

"I can't imagine you falling for someone like him."

"It was high school! I was blinded by his rippling muscles and..." She pursed her lips together into a sly smile, "Well, let's just say we had our good times."

He narrowed his eyes at her and shook his head, "No amount of muscle...or anything else," He looked at her pointedly before continuing, "could possibly make Kyle Price attractive enough for you, Catherine, to fall for."

"Well jeez, I wasn't exactly looking for a husband. Not that I did a very good job of that either."

"But *Kyle Price*?"

"Will you stop saying his name like that? I never said I was proud of it! I was young, had a lot to learn about men..."

"Hmm...so what changed your mind about him?"

"Caught him with his pants down with the head cheerleader from a rival high school."

"That is very convoluted."

"Don't say I didn't warn you."

He smiled, "Well it doesn't matter anymore. You are living proof that life after Kyle Price has been much brighter."

"Except for that temporary storm known as Eddie."

"'Temporary' being the operative word. C'mon Cath, your life's great now! You've got a wonderful daughter, a wonderful job, and most importantly..."

"Lemme guess, a wonderful boyfriend?"

"You read my mind." He grinned and leaned over for a kiss.
