Having his mind linked with the Eon duo is an out-of-body experience. It is a state where their consciousness merges into one mind, where he is able to see and feel as they do and the same applies to them for him.
'I cannot recall the last time I saw them in this form,' the brother of the duo remarked as it dispelled White Kyurem's attack with a Luster Purge. The speed at which it is zipping around in tandem with its sister and flying circles around the enraged Unova legend was effective in luring the menace away from the Unova mainland which they are trying to protect.
'They willingly separated themselves for a reason, just like Zapmolcuno did,' the sister chimed in and hit White Kyurem with a Mist Ball. 'But there will always be fools trying to undo their efforts that were done with well intentions.'
'We cannot beat White Kyurem in a contest of strength,' Yasuhira's thoughts were shared through their mental connection. 'Your true power lies in sensing and understanding emotions, not for battle. Is there a way for both of you to calm White Kyurem down?'
'In its current state? I'm not placing my bets on it,' the brother gave his objective assessment while glancing at the black dragon that commands thunder and storms. 'Well, the big guy there is our best bet but even its power will not suffice in a direct battle with White Kyurem.'
'How did White Kyurem come into being in the first place?' The sister questioned as she briefly turned invisible to avoid being struck by White Kyurem's attack before retaliating with her own. Her brother sent images into White Kyurem's mind with his own unique powers, succeeding in fooling the enemy dragon for a few seconds that aided the Swords of Justice in inflicting a blow onto it.
'Good question,' Yasuhira briefly turned his attention back to his own physical body and opened his eyes once more.
"Aaron."
"Yeah?" The Aura Guardian perked up when he heard his partner calling his name. That's weird, wasn't his mind supposed to be linked up with the Eon duo instead?
"You were there. How did Ghetsis revive White Kyurem?"
"Uh, he brought out a small weird thing that transformed into some… I don't know, some sort of weird energy that Kyurem absorbed. That thing acted weirdly after doing so and absorbed Reshiram into it and before I knew it, that abomination was born."
"So there was a catalyst involved," Aline shot Aaron a look that bore the silent question of why didn't you tell us this earlier. Aaron shrugged in wordless reply.
'You heard the oaf,' Yasuhira refocused his attention back to the telepathic link he shared with the Eon duo. They are done testing out White Kyurem, now it's time for them to go on the offensive.
'Power Split, Guard Split.'
Two odd psychic waves were unleashed by the Eon duo, hitting White Kyurem with pinpoint accuracy as the psychic waves forced the three legendaries to average out their offensive and defensive powers with each other. Zekrom and its chosen hero took this opportunity to strike it with a Bolt Strike. The Eon duo's attacks had effectively lowered White Kyurem's combat abilities and they have to take advantage of this opportunity before it loses its effects.
Yasuhira's thought process is clear. Mega Latios and Mega Latias are clearly not comparable to White Kyurem in terms of firepower; they are not legends whose feats relate to possessing overwhelming strength. There are hierarchies of strength even among legendaries and the siblings do not belong to the upper rung of that pyramid.
So, they will leave the role of the attacker to somebody else who is more fit for the job. They will be the invaluable support to make this impossible battle possible.
'Magic Room,' Yasuhira ordered, not wanting to take any chances if Ghetsis still had other high-tech cheats that might give White Kyurem a further boost in firepower. Zekrom and the Swords of Justice converged onto White Kyurem but their collective efforts were defended against with White Kyurem's Fusion Flare.
'Light Screen, Heal Pulse, Safeguard,' Yasuhira quickly reacted when he saw that White Kyurem was about to unleash Ice Burn. Countless layers of psychic barriers instantly manifested through Mega Latias' power and a protective veil shrouded the combatants on their side. Mega Latios immediately worked on healing Zekrom's wounds with Heal Pulse, knowing that the remaining dragon out of the trio is their last hope in defeating the two dragons that were corrupted by Ghetsis.
An ultracold wind that could seemingly freeze even time itself raged and blew at them. Mega Latias' Light Screen filtered the worst of it but it still wasn't enough. Mega Latias put herself in front of the team to take the blow on their behalf, knowing that her powerful defensive capabilities made her the best candidate to fill this role. The wind was so cold that it would leave a burn if it wasn't for the Safeguard.
'Recover, Mist Ball.'
Mega Latias's wounds vanished in an instant and began bombarding White Kyurem with her signature attack. Her brother followed up with a Luster Purge, the light from his attack blinding White Kyurem long enough for Colbalion to injure it with Sacred Sword.
'It's healing with Roost! Brother!'
'On it!' Mega Latios acknowledged and swiftly locked White Kyurem's options with a Heal Block. White Kyurem was suitably enraged upon realising what was being casted on it and immediately fired a sonic attack at it with Hyper Voice, the power behind it so tremendous that it actually warped the space around them.
'Do not panic, Secret Power,' Yasuhira calmed Mega Latias when he sensed her worry for her brother. The sister immediately manipulated the space in between her brother and the incoming attack, successfully defending her brother from harm. It also served as a nice distraction for Terrakion and Virizion to slash their swords at White Kyurem's wings.
'The weather,' Mega Latios reminded when cold winds and hail began to fall together with extreme heat permeating from everywhere around them. Such a contradictory weather phenomenon shouldn't be possibly observed but White Kyurem made it possible just by it being there.
'What's there to worry about? We are the weatherman,' Yasuhira mentally scoffed. 'Defog and Psyshock.'
The unnatural weather was instantly cleared by the siblings' combined use of Defog and they immediately followed up with a Psyshock. Yasuhira mentally frowned when he realised that this hastily formed team of legendaries are barely doing anything to White Kyurem. The difference in power is simply too huge. Under any other circumstances they would have at least inflicted a lasting wound on any legendary pokemon by now, but this is White Kyurem that they are facing. The strength of the entity that was born from the fusion of two out of three Unova's legendary dragons had exceeded his wildest expectations.
To be safe, they better make sure that it didn't somehow force Zekrom to fuse with it too.
White Kyurem hit everyone with a Noble Roar just as Yasuhira ordered the Eon duo to brave through it with Calm Mind. Gigantic boulders were being hurled at them with White Kyurem's use of Ancient Power but Terrakion's tenacity shone through as it grinded them all into dust with its own attack, defending its allies from harm.
'We don't have the power needed to cut it down,' Colbalion spoke. 'We need to undo whatever caused them to fuse together in order to have a fighting chance.'
'They were fused through the power of science,' Yasuhira informed the Swords of Justice using the telepathic link he shared with the Eon duo. 'Some sort of catalyst was used which Kyurem absorbed and forcibly initiated the fusion with Reshiram. I just have no idea if this process is reversible.'
'We will have to gamble on that possibility,' Virizion stated. 'We can sense that there's some sort of abnormal aura at the yellow crest on its head. If we have to put our bets on where the core of that catalyst's power is being stored within its body, that would be it.'
'Thank you. Let me figure out what to do with that,' Yasuhira thanked the Swords of Justice before focusing his mind back to the connection he shared with the Eon duo. 'I need a little help from the both of you.'
'We can read your mind,' Mega Latias assured him as a powerful psychic energy burst forth from her body, connecting Yasuhira's thoughts to every single individual in Castelia City. Yasuhira is very well aware that trying to defend Castelia from White Kyurem's rage is the best that they could currently do even with an impressive lineup consisting of Zekrom, the Swords, and the Eon duo. They will not be able to spare any effort to do anything else.
However, they are not fighting alone.
His voice was being projected telepathically to everybody in Unova in an instant. Most of them are people who he does not know and will never know, but he did sense a few familiar presences within the telepathic link the siblings created for his use.
'Greetings, Unova. You do not need to know who I am, you just need to know that I'm on your side and currently engaged in battle with Ghetsis and the twisted version of Unova's legendary dragon.' He took a brief pause to allow everyone to freak out a little before silencing them with his mental thought. 'Now, listen. That thing that we are protecting you from is way too powerful beyond our means to effectively stop. Defending Castelia from its attacks is the best that we can do, but there's still a way to stop it. Team Plasma created it through the fusion of Kyurem and Reshiram using a catalyst, if we are able to remove or destroy the catalyst there's a chance for us to revert them back to normal, which will make the battle a lot easier for us.'
The countless thoughts being exchanged within the telepathy were ignored by Yasuhira. It is the Eon duo's job to pick their candidates based on the influx of thoughts being exchanged in this telepathic link, his only job is to keep everyone's attention on him and stimulate their thinking processes in order for the Eon duo to read everyone's thoughts so that they could accurately pick out the best people for the job.
And he knew that the Eon duo had completed their selection in this short period of time. Battles are not their forte, but understanding the hearts and minds of those around them has always been what they are best at. This is where they truly shine.
Hoenn has been through many eras of crisis since the beginning of time and whenever such a crisis struck, the Eon duo will appear to select a hero through the use of their powers. Countless historical heroes had been selected in this manner and without exception, each and every of those heroes were honourable characters that achieved unfathomable feats and led Hoenn to prosperity.
The Eon duo's track record was why they are highly regarded among Hoennians and why people will place their full faith in their selected candidates.
'Latios and Latias have filtered out who they think are the best candidates for this job based on the mental link we now share. Can everyone give a round of applause to the people who now have psychic light covering their bodies? Congrats, you are the chosen ones that the Eon duo had deemed the most suitable to complete this heroic deed. Do not be afraid, we promise that we will do our utmost best to guarantee your safety.'
Far ahead, several bright spots of light can be seen among the mass of people in the city. Latios and Latias had made their judgement based on the emotions, wills, thoughts, experience, skills and determination they sensed from them. They are the chosen ones just like how the duo had chosen him to be their partner for what is to come.
"Congrats! You are the chosen one!"
The serious mood was appropriately ruined when Aaron's obnoxious voice and equally obnoxious clapping temporarily pulled Yasuhira out from his mental link like the noise pollution that his partner usually is. Yasuhira glanced back, not at all surprised that their Magician is now glowing brightly with a scowl on his face.
"Is this on purpose?"
"No, the Eon duo were the ones to make the judgement. They are the best judges of character in this whole world and they judged you to be a suitable candidate to help resolve this mess," Yasuhira claimed and signalled his castform to get the show started. "I will send you to where I gather all the ones chosen by the siblings. Don't worry, you will be able to get along with them very well."
Yasuhira watched as Magician was forcefully sent away by his castform before he could protest. His darkrai was also sent with him along for the ride.
"Both of you can come out now," Yasuhira stated to nobody in particular. A rip in space appeared near them and two people walked out of it, a pair that everyone present recognised.
"Death? Moon? What are you doing here?" Aline was surprised at their appearances. Death silently held a finger to where his lips would be under his mask before pointing to his temple. Yasuhira caught the hint and mentally dragged the minds of the Cards present into a separate telepathic link, allowing Death to share his thoughts in an instant.
"I see," Aline nodded when she received the new orders from her master that were passed on through Death. "Very well, Aaron and I will leave to prepare immediately."
"Whaaaa? Come on, I want to spectate this battle-"
Whatever complaints that Aaron had was not known because Aline's volcarona had promptly turned him into a silk cocoon upon its trainer's orders. It only took Aline a grand total of three seconds for her to ride her volcarona and take off into the skies, bringing along a squirming cocoon who's struggling with muffled screams from within his silk prison.
"Heh, glad to see that the old folks' home is still as lively as ever," Moon laughed in amusement at how their High Priestess handled Justice the way she did. She quickly lowered her body to dodge a swipe to the back of her head for that remark, courtesy of Death.
"What's that for?"
"Respect your elders, brat."
"Bah! Go and retire already!" Moon argued with an excited grin as she primed her pokeballs. "The fact that y'all called me here means that you still need youngsters like me to clean up your messes. Go sit back and drink some tea or play chess or something, this is my show now."
The hoopa that has been hovering near her shared her excitement with feverish giggles, voicing its verbal agreement.
"The stage is yours," Yasuhira stepped aside, all too willing to play a supportive role if that meant that he's able to take things easier rather than to be the hero that people always expected him to be. Moon had received an order from Fool to tilt the world on its axis and as her fellow colleague, he's all too happy to assist her in her task.
Moon's right, youngsters should take charge of their world. People like him are too old for such excitement. Even the strongest of heroes erode with the passing of time.
"I will dish out the power, you go protect who you need to protect, old timer," Moon was fully agreeable with how their tasks were being delegated. Death stood aside, simply content to be just another spectator and to also guard Yasuhira's body so that the Uncrowned Hero can fully immerse himself into the telepathic link without needing to worry about the safety of his physical body.
"Let's AMP THINGS UP!" Moon roared as a team of pokemon that only existed in the far future emerged for battle in a thunderous cry. Moon primed her last two pokeballs, one containing the armageddon that destroyed her home, and the other who she borrowed from the neighbouring region for this very battle.
"Magnet Rise!"
A legendary golem whose body is made entirely from electricity roared and unleashed its full power. Whereas the ordinary Magnet Rise only allows the user to float through the power of magnetism, Regieleki's Magnet Rise can effortlessly allow her entire team of paradox pokemon to achieve flight as well. It does help that her paradox pokemon all have high metal content in their bodies that allows them to be easily influenced by magnetism.
"Rev it up, Miraidon!" Moon shouted as their team leapt into the skies as streaks of light. The futuristic dragon roared at their adversary in challenge, announcing their presences as its unique ability covered the entire area they are on with Electric Terrain. The familiar revving of Miraidon's engine gave Moon all the assurance she needed that they are more than capable of throwing hands with White Kyurem.
"Sorry about this, but I was told that you are trying to burn the world down and I like it too much to see that happen!" Moon cheekily yelled out from Miraidon's back as Miraidon boosted itself to ultrafast speed and began to pierce White Kyurem with futuristic electricity. It wouldn't be able to get out of this so easily.
"Thunder Cage!"
Roaring thunder descended as Regieleki imprisoned White Kyurem with its signature move. She could hear the abilities of her paradox pokemon roaring into effect, it's quite easy to tell when Quark Drive is activated through its unique revving sound.
"Metal Sound!"
Iron Moth released a ear grating screech and everyone used that opportunity to hit White Kyurem with their strongest attacks. White Kyurem unleashed Ice Burn once more, only for the attack to be successfully defended by the Eon duo's collective efforts.
"What's that? Too shocking for you?" Moon taunted when Miraidon started indiscriminately blasting electric type attacks at White Kyurem. She turned back to yell at the black dragon.
"Zekrom! What are you waiting for? Hit it!"
Zekrom roared and shot forward in a booming blast, its Bolt Strike finding true and becoming more powerful thanks to the Electric Terrain that was created from Miraidon's presence. The two electric dragons are truly the best companion for each other in battle, complementing the other party well with their skill sets.
"Fusion Flare? You are so easy to predict," Moon jeered as she easily commanded her pokemon to evade the attack she saw coming a mile away. Her brain easily computed ten steps ahead of her legendary opponent, easily deciding on the best tactic to take their foe down.
"Taunt!"
Iron Jugulis put its trainer's orders to action with its Taunt and Iron Hands gave White Kyurem a powerful smack in its sneak attack. Iron Bundle set up an Aurora Veil while Iron Treads curled up into a ball and crashed itself into White Kyurem, sending the legendary pokemon right into Iron Thorns' waiting claws.
"Giga Impact!"
Iron Thorns' attacks sent White Kyurem hurtling towards the surface of the sea like a baseball but Moon's not quite done yet. She's just only getting started.
"Rising Voltage!"
Electrical voltages sprouted out from the sea and struck White Kyurem and Moon licked her lips in anticipation when she found that the dragon still had plenty of fight left in it. Heh, now that's more like it, this is starting to turn into something she expects from a fight between legendaries!
"Heard you are a dragon of an ancient hero. Hah, hero? We don't need heroes who belong to the museum," the Electric Terrain crackled in intensity as her pokemon responded to her powerful emotions. She fixed her gaze at White Kyurem as she started to activate her unique computing prowess.
"Modern problems require modern solutions. Let me show you why."
I found myself thinking that I will have a word or two with those ancient relics once I'm done with this shitfest here.
Regrettably, the place where I was forcefully transported to had me finding myself reuniting with members of the interpol. The ones who like me, the ones who don't like me, they are all there.
"You are chosen too?"
"Trust me, I share your doubts," I replied blandly to the person who hated my guts more than the stain on the ground. Skye Bale wasn't pleased at seeing me and I can understand why.
"Turns out everyone in the interpol was chosen," Velda commented with an amused huff.
"Except for him."
"Except for me," I agreed with Skye's sentiment. Rather than saying the interpol members were chosen, it would be more accurate to say that all seven of us supposed "Sages" were picked by the Eon duo. Darkrai chose to make itself known at this moment, emerging from my shadow in a soft howl.
"You have a darkrai?" Volkner questioned and I simply shrugged now that the cat's out of the bag.
"It found me and liked me enough to work with me. It does not belong to me, probably will be off on its merry way once this is over," I told them a half-truth because a different can of worms will be opened if they knew of my connections to Tarot. "Enough about me, we need to do something about White Kyurem. It's what we are assembled here for."
'The catalyst is very likely located at the yellow crest on its head,' Yasuhira's voice could be heard in our minds, reminding us that he is also a spectator to our conversations. 'Do what you can to reach White Kyurem and remove that catalyst. Our hands are already full as it is.'
"I mean, McWings and I can fly us there, Akamu can assist in defending us from any potentially fatal shots," Volkner stated with some hesitation. "The problem is how we are going to destroy that catalyst."
"I can shift us closer to White Kyurem using Shadow Sneak once we are close enough," Velda proposed.
"I-I c-can provide us with some sort of telepathy?" Shannon meekly offered and very discreetly waved me a hello behind Skye's back which I nodded in acknowledgement. Not sure why a non-combatant like her had been pulled into this mess by the Eon duo but I guess I will figure it out soon.
"I can distract it with illusions using my zoroark," I offered, "but don't expect it to fool White Kyurem for anything longer than three seconds."
"We have some long range artillery support as well," Akamu spoke and gestured to five very familiar genesects standing very still near him. Guess Mary must have succeeded in reprogramming them.
"We only have one shot," Volkner reminded us as the space around us began to warp and he quickly released his full pokemon team. "McWings and I will give us a ride. Seems that we are going to be transported to the site of the battle soon whether we like it or not."
We soon found ourselves shifted to the skies and riding on pokemon that weren't ours. Some were riding on Skye's pokemon, some were riding on Volkner's. I personally found myself taking a ride on Volkner's massive gyarados.
Not too far ahead was where the battle was taking place above the sea. New combatants had joined the fray and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was confused about the presence of pokemon that none of us had seen before. They looked similar to some that we already knew, but clearly different. It's like they are cyborg versions of existing pokemon.
'Do not be distracted,' Yasuhira's voice rang out in our minds once more. 'We will provide an opening for you to get closer, make use of it.'
Two powerful Dragon Pulse were fired at White Kyurem, the combined power powerful enough to push it backwards and create some cracks in the barrier orb that White Kyurem constantly surrounded itself with. The pokemon ferrying us immediately rushed ahead to get closer but we could also see White Kyurem sucking in a breath to kill us all at the same time.
'Do not falter, we will handle this.'
A gigantic sword created by a humongous amount of aura swung itself down, cleaving White Kyurem's attack apart and left us untouched by its attack. Colbalion, a pokemon that could only be seen and depicted by ancient drawings and murals galloped alongside us in the sky, charging ahead in resolute determination.
'It's been a long time since we last saw the Seven Sages gathered together.' A deep and gruff voice spoke with a hearty laugh and Terrakion charged towards White Kyurem alongside us. ''Tis a good day despite the unfortunate events that had transpired to bring everyone together.'
"You know about the prophecy-"
'Talk later,' Virizion interrupted Nova's speech when it defended us against another of White Kyurem's attacks. 'We will hold White Kyurem down but restraining it for a short moment is the best we can do. While we do that, please do what you can to destroy whatever is sustaining this incomplete form of theirs. Zekrom, if you will.'
'Cover your ears,' Zekrom's voice was deeper than Terrakion's, raising its large claws before swiping it downwards. Thunder crashed and boomed as it struck White Kyurem, the light of it so blindingly bright that we all had to close our eyes.
"Hell yeah! That's what I'm talking about!" The unknown participant riding an unknown blue and obviously electric-type pokemon zoomed around in a neon arc, her pokemon raining down attacks at White Kyurem in rapid bombardment that actually made White Kyurem bleed. There are so many questions that we all wanted to ask, I'm sure, but now's not the time.
The only thing that I'm sure of is that she has to be a Card, because my Magician card had been vibrating non-stop the moment she appeared and we were within range. She's the only person here who I had never seen before and so the only reason why my card started reacting had to be because of her. Did Fool send her over?
Probably. I will see if I can get my questions answered later.
'This is Shannon, we are now in my telepathy,' I heard a familiar voice in my mind, a little surprised that she's actually capable of such a feat. 'This is a private connection between us seven. You should be able to sense all of our allies through my ability as well, so do not worry about friendly fire.'
She's right, I can feel the presence of my fellow sages at the back of my mind. I immediately came up with a plan upon learning that interesting bit of news.
'Volkner, prepare to use Flash upon my signal,' I requested and was promptly rewarded with an affirmative. I released Zoroark from its pokeball on gyarados' back and gave him my command.
"Prepare to hide us," I instructed him and sent the signal to Volkner through our mental connection. A bright flash of light enveloped the skies once more and we finally made our move. To White Kyurem, it would seem like we had all vanished into thin air when the light from Flash subsided. In truth, zoroark simply hid us with his illusions. Under ordinary circumstances this is a double-edged sword because foes and allies alike will not be able to see each other but this is where Shannon's telepathy came in handy.
We are able to sense each other accurately with her ability.
'We need to first break through that shield surrounding White Kyurem. Akamu!'
'On it!'
Volkner and Akamu broke stealth with Volkner commanding his team to focus their full firepower on a specific spot at White Kyurem's shield to allow Volkner's famed electivire to get close unharmed. The electivire repeatedly punched at the barrier with Thunder Punch, the speed of its punches so fast that its arms became a flurry blur. The fact that the entire field was now somehow covered in Electric Terrain helped out as well.
"Genesects!" Akamu called out as the five genesects fired their attacks at the spot which Volkner's electivire had managed to crack a little. It still didn't break the barrier but the crack had spreaded. His ditto leapt off the skarmory which they were riding on and transformed into an Ultra Beast in a blink of an eye.
"Sacred Sword!"
The kartana cleaved at the crack which the genesects had further aggravated. The crack grew visibly bigger, telling us that we were so close to obliterating the barrier entirely, but the barrier remained.
'Allow us!' Colbalion roared and used the original Sacred Sword, timing its attack to sync with Terrakion and Virizion while Mega Latios and Mega Latias moved themselves to help defend us from White Kyurem's counterattack.
"Thunder Cage!"
A living golem that looked suspiciously similar to Hoenn's Legendary Titans imprisoned White Kyurem in a prison of roaring thunder. Our collective efforts finally caused White Kyurem's defensive barrier to shatter.
"Electro Drift!"
"Bolt Strike!"
The pokemon my fellow Card was riding on vanished in a speedy blur. What came out from that was piercing arcs of lightning forcefully stabbed into White Kyurem's body, drawing enough blood to have it screech in pain. Zekrom's attack dealt a devastating blow on White Kyurem as well and I could also see that it actually has a rider on its back too, a man with tea green hair.
'I'm going in!' I heard Velda's voice as shadows enveloped a few of us and deposited us on White Kyurem's back a split second later. White Kyurem's rider wasn't very pleased that his personal space was being intruded upon.
Ghetsis. However, somebody else had already chosen to stay behind to deal with him before I did.
"I will stop him! Go!" Nova immediately reacted and released her strongest pokemon, choosing to Mega Evolve her garchomp at the first opportunity. There's not a lot of space to do battle here and not a lot of time to waste, so Velda and I immediately left Nova and made a mad dash towards White Kyurem's head.
A seismitoad and toxicroak tried to ambush us and I quickly decided on my next course of action. Velda did the same as well.
"Greninja!"
"Dolly!"
Rainbow hues covered our pokemon in a vibrant glow as our pokemon achieved Mega Evolution and threw themselves into battle to allow us to slip past unharmed. An eelektross came up to greet us next and I released ninetales for battle. The objective is not to win, but to destroy the catalyst that's said to be embedded in the yellow crest on White Kyurem's head. We do not have time to waste on these roadblocks.
Ninetales' work was unexpectedly done for her when a black shadow swiftly shot a powerful Dark Pulse that pushed it off White Kyurem's back and dropped it down into the sea below. Ah, how embarrassing, I had forgotten that I actually had a darkrai.
'Let me help,' I managed to clearly understand darkrai's thoughts for the first time as if I shared a telepathic connection with it. Darkrai manifested that same orb of dark energy that easily took down an entire army earlier.
'Remember, Jayce, this is Dark Void.'
The orb sank onto White Kyurem and everything fell silent. The dragon began to lose altitude from the forced sleep and Velda immediately got us closer with Shadow Sneak, bringing along my Mega Greninja and her Mega Banette at the same time now that their opponents had been dealt with by darkrai through Dark Void. The yellow crest is just right in front of us now.
"Dark Pulse!"
"Shadow Ball!"
We fired our strongest attacks at the crest, but it did nothing but to rudely wake White Kyurem up and it immediately began thrashing about in an effort to get us off its head. We would have been shaken off if it wasn't for Mega Greninja catching us all with his long tongue and stubbornly sticking onto the legendary dragon with its webbed feet.
"Brave Bird!"
Skye's pidgeot crashed into the crest in a powerful dive but it only succeeded in leaving a light scratch on it. Velda and I were both currently too preoccupied with not being shaken off White Kyurem's head so we could only leave it to Skye to try breaking through that surprisingly sturdy crest until we managed to find a way to help her.
'Be quiet,' I heard darkrai's thoughts as it fired another powerful Dark Pulse at White Kyurem's forehead that had it screaming in pain. The space near darkrai ripped apart as a new pokemon that I hadn't seen before made its appearance through it with a mischievous cackle.
A mysterious psychic energy filled the golden ring it was holding in its hands. It shared a look with darkrai and they both came to the unanimous decision to work together, the unknown pokemon firing that same psychic energy at White Kyurem's crest alongside darkrai's Dark Pulse.
Their combined attacks was enough to tear a huge wound into that yellow crest, allowing that mysterious pokemon with golden rings on its body to reach a hand inside and retrieve a small object from within it. White Kyurem howled in rage and screeched, its body glowing white with a dangerous amount of power being emitted from it.
'I think it's separating itself!' Shannon's voice could be heard. 'Quick, jump off it! That amount of power is not something you want to be close to when it's released!'
Mega Greninja immediately released his hold and let us drop upon my signal. I quickly recalled him and zoroark back to their pokeballs as I entered freefall. I was about to release hydreigon out to ferry me when a cofagrigus appeared from thin air to try and swallow me into its coffin.
"Air Slash!"
A powerful burst of slicing wind knocked the cofagrigus away from me before it could do me harm. A pair of talons grabbed my shoulders before I could comprehend what had happened as it quickly flew us far away from the separating dragons.
"What happened to leaving me to die?" I asked the rider of the pidgeot who had saved me from the cofagrigus, referring to the conversation we had back at the Relic Castle. Skye did not make a verbal reply but I heard Velda releasing a laugh. I'm guessing that Skye must have caught Velda before deciding to save me.
"Fine then, goodbye."
And I was promptly dropped when her pidgeot released its hold on me. Not that it really changed anything since all I did was to release hydreigon and landed on his back. Darkrai emerged from my shadow the moment I landed on hydreigon's back, looking back at the separating dragons in curiosity.
"You know that pokemon?" I asked darkrai, referring to the strange pokemon with golden rings that appeared from a tear in space.
'I do,' darkrai nodded. 'I was defeated by it which led to my capture. Its name is hoopa.'
My eyes widened a little in surprise at the revelation. I wasn't aware that it's such a powerful pokemon because it certainly didn't look the part, but looks can be deceiving. Hoopa? That's not a name that I am familiar with, I will need to hit the history books when I have the time.
The fact that hoopa's victory over darkrai led to its capture meant that hoopa belongs to a Card of Tarot. It certainly does not look like it is taking orders from the girl who is commanding all those cyborg looking pokemon and unleashing destruction with a hysterical laughter bubbling from her throat, so I'm assuming that hoopa belongs to somebody else.
Our attention was brought back to White Kyurem when the light died down, the power released by their separation manifesting as an explosion of both heated and chilled air that rippled outwards, powerful enough for the Eon duo to choose to step in to block off the worst of it. Reshiram and another pokemon who I assumed to be Kyurem finally came to view, but it's also obvious that while the two pokemon were already separated they were still under Ghetsis' control. The battle had gotten easier now that White Kyurem had been reverted to its original forms, but it had not ended.
"Kyurem's mine!" My fellow Card yelled in crazed glee as her team of unknown pokemon immediately converged onto the ice dragon and began her assault. Everybody just left her be when they saw that the collective power her team wields was more than enough to overpower Kyurem over time.
'Anybody knows what's that?' We heard Volkner asking through our private mental link but everyone replied with a negative. Great, there is an entire team of pokemon in this world that we actually had no idea about- No, pokemon that the PWL knew nothing about.
Yet, Tarot does, and has proved to be able to command pokemon wielding such terrifying power with such frightening ease. What does it mean when they so publicly display such a thing to the entire world?
What does it mean when Tarot now officially declares that they possess power to bring down legends themselves?
