"Now is the time, my fellow kunoichi and shinobi! To lay aside our differences and unite against our common enemy. She is known as the rabbit goddess, who wants to sacrifice all of humankind to the god tree and eradicate the world as we know it. I am not your enemy nor are you mine. There are no enemies here now, because each of us, each of our villages have suffered under the machinations of that black shadow and it's white minions.

"If we can't destroy them now, the world is finished. I want to protect this entire world, but I alone can only do this much. Thus I ask you and all of the villages, to lend me your strength and stand up against the evil that penetrates this world!"

There's a long moment of, quite frankly, incredulous silence throughout the Kage summit from all the ninja present because the only reason the villages are cooperating right now is to decide how to deal with the blank headbands.

"No, you are the problem," the Raikage says. "You assholes are the blight on Kumo."

"Kaguya wants to murder everyone," the Kumo information broker says, with all the mild insanity of a traveller in her eyes so it's probably not very endearing.

"So do you!"

"Now, hold on a moment. I can see where you're coming from but also-"

"Don't bother," scoffs the Kiri tactician and steps past his fellow traveller. "Either you join us or we'll lead this Bunny Bitch around to your villages. Who knows, maybe we'll have some fun there, too?"

The Kage all share glances with each other. "Alright, where is this supposed world-class threat?"

The Kiri traveller points out of the window, just as Kakashi lands on the windowsill, offers up a short salute and vanishes.

Kaguya breaks down the wall, stabs three people with her hair and then casts out a shockwave from her eyes, throwing everyone to the floor and killing the ones closest.

The Mizukage staggers back to his feet, teeth gritted and a snarl on his face. "Motherfucking what-"

Because as it turns out, after you get to a certain level, it's really quite insulting to be slapped around so easily and everyone tends to react the same.

The Kage have fire in their eyes.

Luring the Ootsutsuki princess to the summit while the travellers recuperated for a bit wasn't actually meant to work. In most of their preparations, they didn't account for help - just because gathering and leading entire armies just wasn't feasible either economically or efficiency-wise.

Surprisingly, the Kage, despite their initial unwillingness, are reasonable enough to work with the travellers once they see what Kaguya is capable of.

With the five Kage finally officially on their boat, the travellers are able to call on all the jinchuuriki openly without interference and that gives them an immense boost in power.

They're just not sure if it's enough.

Kaguya blinks away and appears in a crowd of travellers. Obito summons Susanoo and Kaguya pierces straight through, so now Susannoo can grab a hold of her and the travellers can launch jutsu through the air.

Kaguya can absorb the jutsu they throw at her so everyone is generally going for physical attacks since while she does heal, it at least stalls her. Still, with the amount of ninjutsu everyone's throwing around, Kakashi is glad he ate well in preparation for this fight (shut up, Tobirama).

Kaguya disengages the bones Susanoo is holding onto and turns, allowing Obito to kamui her arm away - she moves too fast for him to drill a proper hole into her chest like he intended.

The free-form tailed beasts rise up, ringing the clearing as the travellers retreat at a sprint. Their mouths open, dark swirling orbs forming between their teeth.

The travellers further back are focused on summoning clouds and the beginnings of a thunderstorm, only for the triplets to finally call down a massive electric eagle, born from the static of the clouds.

It shrieks, plunging out of the dark, wrathful storm, talons extended, wings spreading out to the horizon as icy blue electricity crackles over its form. The eagle clamps down and all that immense electricity pours through into Kaguya.

Kakashi starts a string of chakra interruptions with his own Mangekyo and Kaguya loses half her hair to the others before finally she locks onto him.

Kakashi is yeeted into another dimension.

He mopes around a bit before Obito comes to get him.

Kaguya swiftly flies back from a string of explosions and into a hoard of clones from the First Kazekage that latch on to her and mould into a casing several meters thick, spikes turned inwards.

Yobun'na grabs Kakashi, a grimace on his face. "We're not...going to make this. Should have just blown up the fucking moon and made a new one."

"We're not done yet," Kakashi pants. "We're not done until she's dead."

"...yeah. Yeah, go kill her for me." Yobun'na presses a roll of chakra wire into his hand.

Kakashi stares down at it for a long moment and then disappears back into the battlefield.

Yobun'na looks down at his body, torn in half. He almost thinks he can feel his legs -wherever they are- and he sighs. "Fuck, it hurts."

They slice off a leg, a traveller gets hit with a bone and cuts off their forearm before the attack can dissolve the rest of them.

They shear off some hair, another kunoichi is hypnotised into turning on them and Kakashi breaks it with his own genjutsu.

They gouge out her third eye, the blastwave sending them flying back, tearing through trees and the ground and...

Bodies litter the battlefield.

More importantly...Kaguya's body, torn to shreds, smeared over the baked and cracked dirt damaged by jutsu. They are going to seal that in pieces and burn the scrolls. Just to be safe.

The village shinobi are at their fallen comrades' side, some grieving, others just blank.

It's different with the travellers. The dead will be mourned, more or less, but now is not the time. They've gathered in small pockets, closing their defences with so many others showing up, either during the fight or now that it's all over. They really didn't expect to survive, but now...

They're satisfied but lost. What now? What next? What does the plan say?

Orochimaru looks up and finds himself as the centre of attention. He just looks away. There never has been a plan for after, their whole focus has been on preventing the world's demise.

Free reign, some of the travellers think, and they glance around, see the weakened Kage, and they smirk.

Some others cluster together, already so indoctrinated. Working as a team for so long has ruined them. They get so much done, it's so much easier and efficient. If they don't know something, they just ask and a specialist will pop up to sweep them off their feet.

The average traveller has been here in this timeline for four years now. It's a pack mentality, and they can't just shake it off.

Why ruin a good thing?

Why not just take over the world while they're here? Who can stop them? They start whispering to each other. Though, notably, not the more sane ones who know that no peace would come from that - they couldn't maintain it, not with their numbers decimated once again.

Kakashi is sitting on the ground, the heat of it burning him through his clothes. He cradles Sakumo, the man's shoulders on Kakashi's lap, the man's head in Kakashi's arms. Kakashi just breathes, it's all his exhausted body can do right now, and he knows that most of the people in this place won't wake.

The seal, their final plan, lights up.

Quite frankly the travellers do not have the patience for this, and so the ones who can still stand surround the blazing seal and prepare their weapons in case someone is coming to fuck up their carefully executed plan.

In a flash and a harsh bang, several dozen people snap into existence. All adults, all together. A new sealing array then - something much better designed, with more power and finesse.

A new batch of travellers, the second generation.

A new mission.

"We're here to save the world!" Naruto cheers, skipping out from the seal, wide grin on his face.

Kakashi sighs. "What is it now?"

A/N:

Ourliazo: I know, open ending, fuck me right? But we were thinking the next threat could be something like Kaguya's clan members - yet I also like the idea that some of the more insane travellers just get way too strong and then people are sent back in time to deal with them. At this time point, Kaguya is dealt with, but the travellers are also weak right now and easily killed. (Theoretically easily killed.)

Ai: I'd like to thank Ourliazo for writing this part of the series with me and all the readers commenting and supporting us. It has been a pleasant journey. It is still written in the stars whether a sequel about the second generation of travellers trying to eliminate the first generation will be published.
