Author's Note: This story takes place in the alternate timeline established by Harry, Hermione and Kruge's adventures into the Guardian of Forever as seen in Harry Potter and the Fountain of Possibilities. The Prologue and the first five chapters after it will focus on the Harry Potter world in this timeline before it is discovered by the USS Titan as seen (in the original timeline) in Harry Potter and the Return of James T. Kirk, as well as examining the effects of the alterations to events that Harry, Hermione and Kruge set into motion.
Chapters Six through Twelve will be a new version of Harry Potter and the Return of James T. Kirk that has been rewritten to accommodate those changes, as well as to add elements inspired by Star Trek series and stories that were released in the years since Harry Potter and the Return of James T. Kirk was first written, such as Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard.
"Year 2 (The End)"
In a distant part of our galaxy, there is a planet known by the United Federation of Planets as Gamma Germanicus VII. On that planet, a branch of humanity evolved to have a similar society to that on Earth, but at a technological level similar to that planet's early 21st century.
Unknown to the majority of Gamma Germanicus VII's population, however, is that some of the people have abilities that can best be referred to as "magic." The members of the population who have a disposition for these abilities have set up a number of different rules, regulations and services to allow them to live their magical lives in peace and interact with their non-magical neighbors without endangering them.
One of these services is the establishment of various schools that were created in order to help train the next generation of magic-users in the use of these powers and abilities. Among the most famous of these magical schools is a castle in the Highlands of Scotland known as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
In the year the citizens of Gamma Germanicus VII measure as 2002, the rarest of all events able to be experienced by wizardkind occurred. In the lobby of Gringotts Wizarding Bank, the chief financial institution for the wizarding world, two time-travelers from the future named Harry Potter and Hermione Granger formed what was known as a "soul bond."
Unbeknownst to the time-travelers, their counterparts in the time they had traveled back to would experience a similar bond.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Harold Potter, known to all in his world as "Harry," was sitting down at the Gryffindor house table for dinner. Next to him was his friend, Ronald Weasley. But before he could begin to eat, the doors into the Great Hall opened, revealing Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
"Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, come with us," McGonagall said. Harry shot a look of worry at Ron. "Wonder what we did this time?" Harry said. Ron shook his head before the two began to follow McGonagall and Dumbledore out of the hall.
Harry and Ron followed McGonagall and Dumbledore to Hogwarts' Infirmary where the reason for their summons would become clear. Lying on one of the beds was the petrified form of one of their best friends, Hermione Granger.
"Professor, what happened?" Harry said. "We do not know, Harry, though we assume it was the same cause behind the petrifications of Colin Creevy and Mrs. Norris," Dumbledore said. "The Slytherin prefects were on patrol in the corridors near the library and found her. You can stay until curfew, and we'll inform the Slytherin prefects that if they are to find you two walking back to the Gryffindor dorms tonight past curfew, no demerits are to be issued."
"Thank you, sir," Ron said. Dumbledore and McGonagall smiled a sad smile and nodded before leaving Harry and Ron to their vigil. Before Harry and Ron knew it, it was close to curfew. "Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, visiting hours are over. I must ask you to return to the Gryffindor dorms," a voice said. Harry sniffed back his tears and looked at Madam Poppy Pomfrey, Hogwarts' head Healer.
"Of course, Madam Pomfrey," Harry said. As Ron walked out of the Hogwarts Infirmary, Harry felt something snap in him. He realized that he had romantic feelings for Hermione. Harry leaned down and whispered as if Hermione could hear him, "We'll find a way to bring you back, 'Mione." He then kissed Hermione on the forehead and said, "I love you."
Suddenly, Hermione's petrified form began to glow gold. The gold glow then spread to encompass Harry before fading completely, revealing that Hermione had been restored to life. "Hermione!" Harry said before hugging Hermione. Ron saw the emotion behind the embrace and stormed off.
The embrace shared by Harry and Hermione was only broken by the hooting and wing-flaps of a pair of owls who landed on a table next to Hermione's bed. Everyone in the room gasped when they noticed that the two owls were dressed in Gringotts regalia.
Harry took a note tied to the leg of the owl that landed closest to him and unrolled the parchment. It read:
To Mr. Harry James Potter
Our records indicate the formation of a soul bond with one Hermione Jean Granger on the 24th of April, 2002. Your presence is requested at Gringotts Bank in Diagon Alley, London, at your earliest convenience in order to discuss the implications of this bond on your future and that of your bond-mate.
Account Manager for the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter
Gringotts Wizarding Bank Services
The note Hermione received was virtually identical to Harry's; however, where she was mentioned in Harry's letter, Harry was mentioned instead in hers. "Madam Pompfrey, what is a soul bond?" Harry asked as the two owls, their duties fulfilled, flew away.
"Only the rarest of all magical events, Mr. Potter," Pomfrey said. "Madam Pomfrey, can you ask Professor McGonagall to come here please?" Hermione asked. "We would like to have her escort us to Gringotts to handle our business." "Of course," Madam Pomfrey said before leaving the Infirmary.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Deputy Headmistress' Office
McGonagall was sitting in front of her desk, about to do something she rarely did during school hours: she had poured a glass of Ogden's Old Firewhisky for herself and was about to take a sip from it when there was a knock on her office door. "Enter," she said.
The door opened, revealing Pomfrey. "Minerva, would you please come back to the Infirmary with me, please?" she asked. "There has been a new development regarding Miss Granger's condition." "Oh, no," McGonagall thought. "Of course," she said out loud to Pomfrey. Returning the firewhiskey to the decanter, McGonagall followed Pompfrey out of her office.
McGonagall's jaw dropped when she followed Pomfrey into the Infirmary to find Harry and Hermione kissing. "What is going on here?" McGonagall asked. "A soul bond, Professor," Harry said. "Whatever that means," Hermione added. "I've read Hogwarts: A History from cover to cover nearly a hundred times since coming here for the first time last year, and I cannot find any information about them."
"Then why am I here?" McGonagall said. "We need to go to Gringotts as soon as possible to discuss the soul bond with the Potter account manager," Harry said. "I'll take you both there in the morning, for safety's sake," McGonagall said.
"In the meantime, Mr. Potter, I'll allow you to sleep here with Miss Granger tonight," Pomfrey said. "I do know something about soul bonds, such as requiring physical contact between the bonded ones for as long as possible while the bond settles into place. I trust you two will maintain some level of decorum this evening?" Harry and Hermione both nodded.
"Then, good night, Mr. Potter, Miss Granger," McGonagall said. "I'll see you both after breakfast tomorrow morning to escort you two to Gringotts." "Good night, Professor," Harry and Hermione chorused.
The next morning, Harry woke up to find Hermione snuggled up against his chest. "Hermione, wake up," Harry whispered. Hermione's eyes fluttered open. "Good morning, Harry my love," Hermione said before kissing Harry.
But then Hermione recoiled from Harry. "What's wrong?" Harry asked. "Morning breath," Hermione said. "Remind me to teach you the breath-freshening charm sometime." The two newly-bonded lovers began to laugh, which brought Pomfrey out of her office. "Good morning, Mr. Potter, Miss Granger," she said.
"Good morning, Madam Pomfrey," Harry said. "What time is it?" Hermione said. "A minute past 6:00 in the morning," Pomfrey said. "The house elves will be bringing you breakfast and a change of clothes in fifteen minutes."
"Thank you, ma'am," Hermione said. As Pomfrey moved back into her office, Harry looked at Hermione. "You know, Hermione, I had a weird dream last night," Harry said. "What was it about?" Hermione said. "Like there was another Harry and Hermione, and that they—not us—were the ones who initiated the bond," Harry said.
"You know, Harry, I think I had the same dream," Hermione said. Harry and Hermione's discussion of their shared dream was interrupted by a loud popping sound. Two Hogwarts house elves—one holding a tray of food, the second holding two bundles of clean clothing—stood before them.
"Mister Potter, Miss Granger, I be Winky, and this be Abraxas," the house elf holding the tray of food said. "I have your breakfast, while Abraxas has a change of clothes for the both of you." "Thank you, Winky. Thank you, Abraxas," Harry said.
Winky and Abraxas smiled at the compliments by Hogwarts' most famous student, set down their burdens, then popped out of the Infirmary. As Hermione began to pour herself a cup of tea, Harry noticed that on the tray holding their food also rested the day's morning edition of the Daily Prophet newspaper.
Harry unrolled the newspaper and gasped in shock at what he saw: a headline reading "Weasley Family Shocker! Family Matriarch Arrested for Illegal Potion Brewing and Possession! For Details, see Page 20!" Harry flipped to the specified page and saw an image of Molly Weasley being led out of her home at the Burrow—the residence of the House of Weasley—in restraints and escorted by a group of Aurors. "Hermione, listen to this," Harry said before he began to read the article aloud.
The article read:
Weasley Family Shocker! Family Matriarch Arrested for Illegal Potion Brewing and Possession!
By Richard Amorim, Security Editor
Molly Weasley, matriarch of the House of Weasley, was arrested in the late evening hours of 24 April at the family residence (also known as "The Burrow") at Ottery St. Catchpole, Devon. The arresting party of Aurors was led by no less than the Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement herself, Madam Amelia Bones.
Director Bones stated to this reporter that Mrs. Weasley was found by her husband, Director of the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office Arthur Weasley, in the process of brewing Amortentia. This advanced-level potion, commonly referred to as a 'Love Potion,' is a Class-7 restricted substance.
Director Bones noted that Mrs. Weasley will be charged within the next twenty-four hours with seven counts including one count of brewing a Class-7 restricted substance, three counts of possession of a Class-7 restricted substance, one count of intent to use a Class-7 restricted substance and one count of intent to distribute a Class-7 restricted substance. Additional charges may be leveled against Mrs. Weasley, depending on the results of an ongoing investigation.
This investigation has, apparently, spread to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as this reporter can confirm, thanks to DMLE sources, that the second-youngest Weasley child, Ronald Weasley, has also been arrested on two charges: one charge of possession of a Class-7 restricted substance and one charge of intent to use a Class-7 restricted substance—that substance reportedly being a box of chocolates that had been laced with Amortentia.
Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress and Head of Gryffindor House at Hogwarts School, had confirmed to the Prophet that Weasley has been expelled from Hogwarts School and his wand snapped. McGonagall also said, "Behaviour such as that suspected to have been perpetrated by Mr. Weasley cannot, should not and must not be tolerated. That is why, with the blessing of Headmaster Dumbledore and the Hogwarts Board of Governors, Ronald Billius Weasley has been expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with his wand snapped. The apologies of myself, Headmaster Dumbledore and the Hogwarts Board of Governors go to any student or students who may have been affected by the suspected crimes at the heart of this matter."
"I cannot believe it," Hermione said. "But in a way, it's only natural." "What do you mean, 'Mione?" Harry said as he put down the Daily Prophet and began to spread jam and butter on a scone. "Last night, as the bond brought me out of being petrified, I saw Ron storm out of the Infirmary after you hugged me."
"I see what you mean, Hermione," Harry said before he took a bite of the scone.
Half an hour later, the meal was finished and Harry and Hermione got dressed in fresh robes. Shortly thereafter, McGonagall arrived in the infirmary to collect Harry and Hermione. Using the floo chamber in her office, McGonagall, Harry and Hermione arrived at a similar chamber within the Ministry of Magic headquarters.
The three then apparated to a point near Gringotts Wizarding Bank in Diagon Alley. McGonagall led Harry and Hermione up to a teller. "Pardon me, but these two students are here to see Griphook, the Potter account manager," McGonagall said. The goblin behind the desk looked down his long, pointed nose at Harry and Hermione. "And do these...two students...have names?" he said.
"Excuse me, sir," Harry said. "I'm Harry Potter, and this is Hermione Granger. We both got letters from Gringotts last night about..." Harry was interrupted by the goblin chuckling. "We've been expecting you two," the goblin said. "Please follow me. Your escort must wait out here."
Harry looked at McGonagall. "I'll be fine out here, Mr. Potter," McGonagall said. "There should be no threats here at Gringotts." Harry then turned back to face the goblin. "Lead on then," Harry said. The goblin nodded, then gestured for Harry and Hermione to follow him.
The goblin led Harry and Hermione to a door marked "Griphook, Account Manager for the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter." The goblin knocked on the door in a three-beat pattern. A voice on the other side of the door called out, "Enter."
The goblin guiding Harry and Hermione led them into the office. "Master Griphook, it is an honour to see you again," Harry said before he and Hermione bowed to Griphook. Griphook smiled at the show of respect. "It is good that you remember me, Mr. Potter. Please have a seat—both of you," Griphook said.
Harry and Hermione sat down in two chairs set before Griphook's desk. "Now, to why I asked to see you two," Griphook said. "Last night, at or about 9:30 in the evening, our records noted the formation of a soul bond between you two. This brings with it a number of important changes in your lives."
Griphook opened a folder on his desk and revealed a parchment. "This parchment indicates that as of that moment, Harold James Potter and Hermione Jean Granger, by virtue of their soul bond, are emancipated minors and are recognized as married by the laws and traditions of the Ministry of Magic and the Goblin Nation."
Harry and Hermione gasped as they examined the parchment offered to them by Griphook. Sure enough, the parchment noted that at 9:30 in the evening on the 24th of April, two thousand and two, Harold James Potter and Hermione Jane Granger were joined in a soul bond, thus making them both emancipated minors and legally married by the grace of magic herself.
"Mr. Potter, your emancipation also makes you eligible to assume the titles, duties, rights and responsibilities of the Lordship of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter," Griphook said. "These rights include immediate access to all Potter family holdings in accordance with the will left behind by your father and mother, the previous Lord and Lady of the House."
"Master Griphook, I was unaware that my parents had filed a will," Harry said. Griphook's face became creased with a slight hint of anger. "That is because the will was illegally sealed shortly after being executed," Griphook said.
"If the will was sealed, Master Griphook, how would you know of it?" Hermione asked. "Only the copy of the will that was filed with the Ministry was sealed, Lady Potter," Griphook said. "A second copy came into possession of the Goblin Nation last night shortly before your soul bond was recorded."
Griphook reached into a drawer of his desk and pulled out a scroll. He then handed it to Harry. "A trio of Aurors from the United States working on behalf of your International Confederation of Wizards founded it during an investigation of Hogwarts—or specifically, of Headmaster Dumbledore's office."
"Why was Professor Dumbledore being investigated?" Harry said. "I cannot say, as that would compromise an ongoing ICW investigation," Griphook said. "What does the will say, Harry?" Hermione said. Harry unrolled the parchment and began to read from it.
"We, Lord James Edward Potter and Lady Lily Joanna Evans-Potter, being of sound mind and body, do hereby make the following declarations regarding the disposition of our assets in the event of our untimely demise:
To Remus John Lupin, we give the sum of 5,000 galleons and a lifetime supply of wolfsbane potion in order to allow you to live as normal a life as possible given your rather hairy situation.
To Sirius Orion Black, we give the sum of 10,000 galleons per annum and the custody of our son, Harold James, in order to ensure that he is raised in a magical and loving home.
To Peter Pettigrew, we give the traitor's sum of 30 sickles and wish it known that if we are gone before our time, Peter Pettigrew was the Secret Keeper of our home in Godric's Hollow and provided that information to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Whomever is reading this message, please provide it to Lady Amelia Bones of the Division of Magical Law Enforcement.
To Lucius, Narcissa and Draco Malfoy, we give the sum of one galleon each so as to prevent any protest of this will or its contents.
In the event of our untimely passing, care of Harold James Potter should go to the following in descending order of availability:
Sirius Orion Black
Remus John Lupin
Frank and Alice Longbottom
Cyrus and Ellen Greengrass
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is Harold James Potter to turned over to the care of Vernon and Petunia Dursley, as they do not have any love for us or for anything magical.
Finally, to my son, Harold James Potter, we give the remaining balance of our assets in both the muggle and wizarding worlds in order to allow him to life whatever kind of life he so chooses. Harry, our child, find a loving woman and raise a family to keep the Potter name alive into the next generation and generations yet to come.
Lord James Edward Potter
Lady Lily Joanna Evans-Potter
Executed this 29th day of October, 1990.

Harry saw red. He realized that he could have spent the first eleven years of his life with a loving family; but instead he was forced into virtual servitude and regularly beaten to within an inch of his life by people he was not even supposed to be living with.
"Harry, what does this mean?" Hermione asked. "It means that those assholes who made my life hell until I started going to Hogwarts were not who I was supposed to be with after You-Know-Who killed my parents!" Harry said before slamming a fist down onto Griphook's desk.
"Fortunately, Lord Potter, you will no longer have to worry about them," Griphook said. "With your emancipation, you can live wherever you like. The Potter family holdings come with a number of residences around the world, including the ancestral family estate in Wales."
"But shouldn't Hermione's parents be informed of what has happened?" Harry said. "That is a matter you two and Professor McGonagall should attend to after you leave today, My Lord," Griphook said.
"I see, Master Griphook," Harry said. "Your emancipation and marriage have been recorded at the Ministry of Magic, in our records here at Gringotts and in the rolls at Hogwarts," Griphook said. "Professor McGonagall, as your head of house, will explain what will happen at Hogwarts starting next year."
"As for right now," Griphook continued, "your trust vaults have been folded into the Potter family vault, necessitating us to provide you with new keys." Harry nodded before handing his trust vault key to Griphook. Griphook then held out two new vault keys. "These keys require a small blood sample to ensure that you are entitled to use them."
"But how will I be recognized as a Potter?" Hermione said. "By the soul bond," Griphook said. "Ah, I see," Hermione said. Harry and Hermione felt small pricks on the palms of their hands as they took the new keys from Griphook. The keys then glowed gold, indicated that the Potter family magic had recognized the new Lord and Lady Potter's right to use them. "I shall take you down to the Potter vault right now, if you choose," Griphook said.
"That's not necessary right now, Master Griphook," Harry said. "What is, however, is informing Mr. and Mrs. Granger about what has happened." "Then I shall leave you to that," Griphook said. "I will, however, provide you with this."
Griphook handed Harry a small gold disk. "This token acts as a Portkey that can bring you right back here at any time," Griphook said. "All you need to say is, 'To Gringotts,' and it will bring you here. I wish you all of the best as you two adjust to your new lives together."
"Thank you, Master Griphook," Harry said. "Have a good day, and may your vaults always flow." "And may your enemies' heads land at your feet," Hermione added before first Harry, then Hermione, shook Griphook's hand.
The next order of business was for Harry, Hermione and McGonagall to make their way to the residence of Neil and Jean Granger. Hermione knocked on the door. Neil answered the door. "Hermione, what are you doing here while your school is in session?" Neil asked.
He then looked up and saw McGonagall. "Professor, what are you doing here?" Neil asked. "Is Hermione in trouble?" "Far from it, Mr. Granger, but this is a matter that is best discussed away from prying eyes," McGonagall said. "May we come in?"
"Oh, of course. Please do," Neil said. A voice emanated from another room as Neil led Hermione, Harry and McGonagall into the house. "Who is it, honey?" a female voice asked. "It's Hermione, Professor McGonagall and a very nice-looking young man," Neil said. "I'll make up a pot of tea, then," the voice of Jean said.
As Jean brought the teapot and five cups into the sitting room where Neil, Hermione, Harry and McGonagall sat, Neil turned to look at McGonagall. "Well then, Professor, what has brought two students and their head of House away from Hogwarts while school is in session?"
"Last night at about 9:30 in the evening, a rare magical event occurred which affected your daughter," McGonagall said as Jean handed McGonagall a steaming hot cup of tea. "Thank you," McGonagall said to Jean before taking a sip. "This event is known as a soul bond. It happens when two individuals uniquely meant to be together admit feelings for each other. This particular soul bond affected both your daughter and Mr. Potter over here." McGonagall gestured to Harry.
"What does this bond entail?" Jean said as she sat down next to Neil. "Among other benefits, Mr. and Mrs. Granger, the soul bond emancipates the two involved entities and marks them as married in magical society," Harry said. "Please know that I did not intend this to happen, Mr. and Mrs. Granger, but I love your daughter very much and hope to do right by her."
"Putting aside for a moment my discomfort at hearing that our only child is married at almost twelve years old, how do you intend to take care of Hermione, Mr. Potter?" Neil asked. Harry removed the folder Griphook had given him at Gringotts from the satchel slung over his shoulder.
"Upon learning of the formation of our bond, Mr. Granger, we headed to Gringotts Bank to speak to my family's account manager," Harry said. "I learned that with my emancipation as a result of the bond, I was eligible to assume all of the lands, property and titles that my family has. Officially, within the wizarding world, I am Lord Harold James Potter, Head of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter."
"Among the properties Harry inherited from his family is an ancestral estate in Wales, as well as an enormous volume of patents, stocks and other investments in both the muggle and wizarding worlds, mum," Hermione said. "Harry and I truly do not have to work a day in our lives unless we choose to."
"Our emancipation also removes from us the restriction the Ministry of Magic places on underage use of magic away from school, allowing us to be able to practice magic during the summer months. I intend to hire some tutors to allow us to do this," Harry said. "From what my account manager has told me, the Potter estate has enough living space for us, any children we may have once we're old enough and any other guests we may choose to let live with us."
"We have been thinking of closing the dental practice and retiring to the country, Neil," Jean said. "All right," Neil said before standing and moving to stand up in front of Harry. "Stand up, son," Neil said. Harry did so. Neil then embraced Harry in a tight hug. "Welcome to the family, Harry."
"Just don't get physical with each other until you are old enough," Jean said. "Yes, mum," Hermione said before hugging Jean. "We need to close out the school year before we do any of this, though," McGonagall said. "Mr. and Mrs. Granger, thank you for your hospitality, but we really must be getting back to Hogwarts."
"See you at King's Cross," Hermione said before rejoining Harry and McGonagall. The three then disappeared.
That evening, in the Great Hall at Hogwarts, all activity ceased when Professor Dumbledore stepped up to the lectern that he used when addressing the students and staff in the hall. "The last 24 hours have seen two very shocking events affect us all at Hogwarts," he said.
Dumbledore then gestured to the Gryffindor table. "You may notice that there is an empty space at table tonight," Dumbledore said. "Ronald Weasley has been expelled from Hogwarts due to willing participation in a criminal incident currently investigated by the DMLE. No other member of the Weasley family has presently been found to be involved."
Dumbledore then turned to face the Slytherin house table. "If I hear of any individual from any house antagonizing the remaining members of the Weasley family amongst the student body, the consequences will be most severe. I enjoin you to consider that," Dumbledore said sternly.
Dumbledore then turned his attention back to the Great Hall at large. "The second event of which I speak is more pleasant," he said. "Last night, Hermione Granger, one of the individuals known to have been petrified, made a miraculous recovery." Most of the students and staff (Slytherin excluded) applauded.
"Yes, yes, this is good news," Dumbledore said. "But the truly good news is yet to come. The reason for Miss Granger's speedy recovery is that she and Harry Potter have formed a soul bond." Chattering and exclamations—some of shock, some of disbelief—filled the hall. Dumbledore had to fire off a barrage of five cannon blast spells to regain the hall's attention.
"Among the benefits of a soul bond, Miss Granger and Mister Potter are now both emancipated and officially married," Dumbledore said. "Starting next year, Gryffindors, Mr. and Mrs. Potter will no longer be staying in standard dorm rooms. Instead, married student living quarters will be made available. Mr. and Mrs. Potter can have unsupervised visitors until curfew each night."
"In addition to their emancipation and marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Potter are now Lord and Lady of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter. This status gives them certain privileges, such as the right to call blood feuds if their persons or their House are impugned in any way," Dumbledore said. "I, for one, do not intend to test them."
"Also, Lord and Lady Potter wish it to be known that except in formal situations, they wish to continue to be addressed as Harry and Hermione—or Mr. and Mrs. Potter, as the situation dictates," Dumbledore said. "I wish, then, to propose a toast."
Dumbledore moved over to the staff table and picked up a goblet of butterbeer. "Let's raise a goblet to Harry and Hermione Potter," Dumbledore said. "May they have many happy and healthy years ahead of them."
"To Harry and Hermione!" the Hall chorused before taking a drink. Dumbledore silently resumed his seat at the staff table, letting the students and other staff know that the feast had officially begun.
In the following weeks, the petrifications had mysteriously stopped as quickly as they had begun. Hogwarts staff, led by Madam Pompfrey and Professor of Herbology Pomona Sprout had created a remedy for petrification that helped all other affected individuals return as Hermione had.
Finally, the last day of school had arrived. Harry and Hermione would soon step off of the Hogwarts Express onto Platform 9 ¾ and begin a new life together.
