Sam leans against the windowsill in her room, looking out at the outside world. For a moment, she thinks about everything going on in her life right now. Feeling peckish, she steps away from the windowsill and turns around, only to gasp.

Standing before her is Josh. "J-Josh?" she calls out, frightened.

Josh smiles. "Hey, Sammy, you look as beautiful as ever."

"Are… are you real?" Sam asks.

Josh chuckles. "Of course I'm real, silly!" He steps forward and gives Sam a hug. Sam hugs him back and starts to tear up.

"Josh, I've missed you so much," Sam sniffles.

"I've missed you too, Sammy." The hug ends, and they stare at each other for a moment.

"H-how are you even here?" Sam asks, questioning everything. "Mike said the Wendigo got you."

"Don't worry about that, Sammy," Josh tells her. "All that matters is that I'm here now."

"I just wanted to tell you that you shouldn't be friends with the others anymore."

Sam gasps. "Why?"

Josh chuckles. "Why do you think?"

Sam shrugs. "I don't know…"

"Well, they're the reason my sisters are dead. They're terrible people. And after all this time, I still haven't gotten an apology from any of them."

"Wait, really?" Sam asks in disbelief.

Josh nods. "Really." he confirms.

"Wow, I'm so sorry."

Josh huffs. "You shouldn't be sorry about anything, Sammy, you're the only one who was there for me. I just wanted to warn you about the others, they're nothing but snakes."

Sam doesn't agree, but doesn't want to disagree with him to his face. "Alright, warning taken." is what she settles for.

Josh smiles. "Cool. Well, I gotta go, it was nice seeing you again, Sammy."

Sam smiles back. "It was nice seeing you again too, Josh."

"Come stop by my house, my parents miss you." Josh says.

"I will." They hug and Josh leaves her room.

The second Josh exits her room, her mother enters. "Hello, honey, dinner's ready."

"Did you just see Josh?" Sam asks.

Her mom gives her a confused look. "No. I thought you had said he was lost in the mountains."

"Yeah, my bad."

"Are you okay, hun?" her mom asks her.

Sam fake smiles and nods. "Yep, I am perfectly okay."

"Alright, well, let me know if you're ever not okay."

"I will."

Sam's mom nods and leaves. Sam takes a few deep breaths and thinks about her interaction with Josh. It seemed so real, yet it was completely fake. Sam begins questioning her entire reality and sanity now as she heads downstairs for dinner.

Sam and Chris visit Bob and Melina (Josh's parents). The parents let them in and take them to the living room. They drink tea while they chat.

"Thank you so much for visiting," Melinda says to them. "It's been even quieter here now that…" she trails off and begins tearing up. Bob puts an arm around her.

"Of course, we wanted to see how you two were holding up," Sam says. "We're sorry it took so long."

"It's fine," Bob responds. "You're here now, that's all that matters."

"So, uh, how have you two been?" Chris asks awkwardly.

Bob sighs while Melinda starts crying in his shoulder. "It's been extremely hard," he tells them. "It was hard enough losing our baby girls, but we could never have anticipated losing our son as well." Bob begins sobbing now too.

Sam and Chris share sympathetic looks. "Well, you know how close we were with them," Sam begins. "We loved them a lot, and still do. If there's anything we can do to help, please let us know."

"Yes, anything." Chris agrees.

"Thank you," Bob gets out in between his sobs. "I think just being here is enough right now."

"We can come by every week." Chris offers.

"Yeah, totally!" Sam agrees. "We'll come by every week and spend some time with you two."

"You two are the sweetest, I'm so glad my babies befriended you." Melinda whimpers out.

"We are honored to have known them," Sam says with a sympathetic smile. "I'm sure they're all watching over us and will guide us to success."

"I am sorry to ask this of you, but do you think you two could spend the night here?" Melinda asks. "We've just been so lonely; we haven't been working since."

"Yes, we would love to do that!" Sam answers. "We'll just have to ask our parents, but I'm sure they'll let us."

"Yeah, definitely!" Chris agrees.

Bob and Melinda motion for them to come over. Sam and Chris go over to them and they engage in a group hug, Bob and Melinda sobbing even harder now. Sam and Chris even start to tear up a little.

After finishing another session with Isabelle, Mike sits at the edge of her bed, his face in his hands, not even knowing how to feel about life anymore. Isabelle comes out of the bathroom and smiles smugly after looking at Mike. She walks over and places a hand on his shoulder.

"It was pretty hot looking at that angry face of yours while you fucked me." she says flirtily.

Mike shakes her hand off of him. "Not now." he responds, quietly.

"Hey, come on now, Munroe, don't get all soft on me… pun intended." Isabelle laughs to herself.

Mike looks at her. "Please, just, not now."

Isabelle sees the complete and utter devastation on Mike's face, and for the first time in her life, she feels bad. She sits down next to him and puts a hand on his leg. "What's wrong, Mikey?" she asks, genuine concern in her voice.

"Everything." Mike whispers dismissively.

Isabelle sighs, "Look, I know I act like such a bitch to you and your friends, but I'm being genuine right now. Believe it or not, I have a heart."

Mike decides to take the risk. "I feel hopeless."

Isabelle raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean? Hopeless how?"

Mike sighs. "I feel like I've got nothing going for me anymore. I've lost my friends, my mind is fucked up, my parents hate me."

"I'd say you have me, but I know you hate me." Isabelle says.

"I wouldn't hate you if you didn't mess with my friends," Mike tells her. "Why do you fuck with them anyway?"

Isabelle sighs. "To be honest, it's really only Emily that I have a problem with and I just mess with others by association."

"Well, why don't you like Emily?"

"Because in middle school, she knew I liked this guy, and stole him from me. Then she did it again when she went out with you."

"Oh." Mike responds.

"Yeah. It brings me joy seeing the annoyance on her face every time I go to their table. Payback's a bitch."

"I think they've had enough though," Mike says. "Can you stop messing with them please?"

Isabelle shrugs. "Sam and Chris, yeah. Emily? I make no promises."

Matt finds himself at the local grocery store shopping for his parents. When he turns into another aisle, he runs into Emily.

"Hey, Em!" Matt greets her.

"Hey, Matt," Emily responds, slightly nervous. "I didn't know you shop here."

Matt smiles. "I usually don't, I'm just picking some stuff up for my parents."

Emily smiles back. "Ah, the nice guy as usual." she jokes.

Matt shrugs. "What can I say, it's just who I am."

Emily gets serious. "Hey, Matt, I just want to apologize again for how poorly I treated you when we were together. You are literally the nicest guy in the world and you didn't deserve that."

"It's cool, Em, I forgive you," Matt says.

"Thank you." Emily says back, feeling relieved.

"Well, I wish I could talk to you more, Em, but I'm kind of on schedule." Matt tells her.

"Oh! Okay, no problem."

"It was nice chatting with you, though." He hugs her.

Surprised, she hugs back. "It was nice chatting with you too."

Matt pats her on the shoulder as he continues his shopping. Emily looks after him and smiles, feeling good inside.

After bringing home the groceries, Matt meets up with Mike at the local skatepark. Mike is relieved to see that Matt actually came instead of standing him up. Matt comes forward as Mike stands up and the two face off. The skaters at the park stop skating and watch the scene.

Mike takes a deep breath and speaks. "Matt, I would like to apologize for what I did to you. There is no excuse for my behavior, it was very uncalled for and you didn't deserve that."

The skaters continue watching as Matt stares deeply into Mike's eye, making the latter uncomfortable. Finally, Matt puts his arm out for a handshake. Mike goes to shake his hand, but Matt surprises him by punching him in the face with his other hand.

Mike stumbles back a few steps, stunned. Blood starts dripping from his mouth as he looks at Matt.

"Apology accepted." Matt says. He turns around and walks off.

Mike wipes blood from his mouth. He watches Matt leave, not even feeling angry. Instead, he feels incredibly proud.

"Ha! He rocked your ass!" One of the skaters mocks him.

Mike ignores him and sits back down. The skaters then continue skating.

At high school, Matt hangs out with Rachel in the school library. They sit at computers and he helps her with a project.

"You know, Matt, you're such a nice person!" Rachel says with a big smile. "You've made me feel so comfortable here!"

"Oh! Thanks, haha." Matt responds, slightly thrown off by the randomness over her comment.

"At my old school, I was the odd one out." Rachel says, her face going sullen.

"Why?" Matt asks, becoming curious.

"Because I'm Hispanic, and there weren't many people like me who went there, so I was a target." she answers.

Matt nods understandingly. "I know that feeling. It's never fun."

"Have you been able to make any other friends yet?" Matt asks.

"Yeah," Rachel responds. "This girl named Alissa and this guy named Nathan."

"Oh, I know Nathan! He's a cool dude." Matt says fondly.

"So are you." Rachel says with a smile.

Matt chuckles. "Thank you. Let's get back your project now."

Rachel lets out a nervous chuckle. "Right."

At college, Chris and Emily walk down a set of stairs. Tony walks up the set of stairs. As they pass each other, Tony intentionally trips Chris, sending him stumbling down the stairs, yelping in pain.

"Watch where you're going, Hartley!" Tony shouts with a smirk.

Emily looks on in horror at her injured friend at the bottom of the stairs. She then looks at Tony, who is distracted with laughing at Chris. Emily decides that it's now or never, and instead of laughing at Chris this time, she shoves Tony down the stairs. Tony lands at the bottom with a loud crack.

Emily rushes down to Chris's side, and holds him up. "Chris! Are you okay?"

"I don't even know, to be honest," Chris answers, slightly dazed. "You didn't laugh this time, though." he points out.

Emily gives him a fake smile. "No, I didn't," she confirms. "It's not funny anymore, I know that now."

"Where's Tony?" Chris asks.

Emily looks over at Tony, Chris following her gaze. They are shocked to see Tony lying unconscious with blood spilling from the back of his head.

"Oh no," Emily says quietly, tears forming her eyes.

Other students begin entering the stairwell, stopping in shock when they see Tony. Some start screaming for help while others take their phones out and record the scene. Emily stays frozen in place, feeling sick to her stomach.

Back at high school, Jess, carrying a large box, enters the main office. She tells the secretary the box she is carrying is for Bark. The secretary points her in the direction of his office, so she heads over.

Jess enters Bark's office and sets the box down. She looks around at all the pictures on the wall with disgust. She then notices his phone on his desk. She stares at it, tempted to snoop, but not wanting to get caught.

She decides to leave it. When she turns to leave, the phone starts buzzing. She turns back around and looks at the screen; someone is calling. Upon closer inspection, Jess sees that the contact name is JR. Heart thudding, Jess presses answer. Her world is turned upside down when the person on the other end starts talking.

"Heyyy, sexy," her mother's voice says. "Tom and Jess won't be home tonight until later, so how about you come over and teach me a lesson, huh?"

Jess hangs up the phone. Riled up with nothing but pure hatred, she storms out of Bark's office and devises a plan of vengeance. Upon exiting the main office, she bumps into the man himself.

"Please, Ms. Riley, do watch where you're going." Bark says, getting pleasure in seeing the angry look on Jess' face.

Without even saying anything, Jess continues on past him and storms down the hall.

That evening, the group is called to the police station; the same one they were questioned at when they were rescued from the mountain. They are brought back into the interrogation room and await an officer.

"I don't like being back here." Ashley says, hugging Chris.

"I know, Ash, I don't either." Chris responds, hugging her back.

"Why are we even here, what did we even do?" Emily asks, agitated.

"Good question." Sam says.

Two men in uniform enter the room, making everyone uneasy. "Hello, kids," one of the men says. He notices the discomfort in everyone's body language and the angst in their faces. "You all seemed alarmed."

"Well yeah, we have no idea why we're even here." Emily says.

"Are we in trouble?" Ashley asks, scared.

"No," the second man answers. "We just need to talk to you all about something."

"What?" Mike asks.

"First, allow us to introduce ourselves," the first man says. "I am Lieutenant Gregory Stevens."

"I am Officer Ed Powell." the second man says. "We've read your names in the report from that one night, but please, refresh our memories."

"I'm Sam."

"Chris, and this is my girlfriend, Ashley."

"My name's Matt."

"I'm Jess."

Stevens and Powell look at Mike. "You were here another time after being arrested, weren't you?" Powell asks.

Mike sighs. "Yes."

"Can you please tell us why we're here?" Emily interrupts.

"After you were rescued from the mountain, two of our officers went up there to investigate." Stevens informs them.

"What does that have to do with us?" Emily asks.

"Well, those two officers never returned." Stevens finishes.

"What? What happened to them?" Sam asks, concerned.

"We were going to ask you the same thing," Powell says. "They came upon something and radioed in, but it was cut short."

The officers play the recording. "Do any of you have any idea of what could have happened to them?" Stevens asks. "Their families have been worried sick."

The gang all look around at each other, 6/7 of them not coming up with anything.

"The Wendigos." Sam speaks. Everyone looks at her.

"Clarify please." Stevens says.

"The Wendigos, the same creatures that attacked us, probably got them."

"But how, we burned them all in the lodge." Mike says.

"But remember, their spirits are released when the bodies are destroyed," Sam points out. "The officers must've been down in the mine, where the spirits are at their strongest."

"So, will we be able to find them?" Stevens asks.

"Maybe, but definitely not in the best condition."

Stevens and Powell look at each other, then back at the group. "We're gonna need your help finding them." Stevens says.

"What do you mean?" Sam asks.

Powell smiles. "It's time to go back to the mountain."
