Hey everyone! I'm back for this quick song fic on BTR's "Worldwide." I wrote this up last night when I was supposed to be reading articles for my Masters Thesis. I have my priorities.

I was inspired to write it after watching the boys of BTR sing "Worldwide" while in quarantine. I've added some aspects of the actors' real lives in this story, maybe you can identify them. I also did lots of research (thanks Google and BTR wiki).

Disclaimer: nothing belongs to me. The song belongs to BTR, the characters belong to Nickelodeon, the actors belong to their respective agents and families.

Camille Roberts had flopped on her bed at her home in Connecticut after, yet, another boring day. It's been over 3 months since the Coronavirus had started spreading and her agent had told her to move back home until it was all over. So that's what she did. She packed up her belongings from apartment 4J with her father and made the 3 thousand mile trip back to her home in Connecticut.

She said her goodbyes to her friends (Jo had already left for North Carolina a few days prior) and left the Palm Woods. She had the sudden urge to slap and kiss her boyfriend of 8 years, Logan Mitchell, but she had to keep a 6 feet distance from everyone. They settled with a sad wave before she turned and left the hotel that's been her home for over 10 years.

She still texted, called, and video chatted with him but it wasn't the same. She was missing his physical body near her.

After they graduated high school, he had gone to college to fulfill his dream to be a doctor. Big Time Rush had broken up by then but the boys were still the best of friends. Kendall and James were still making music, though they had their own music careers. Carlos had started dating Alexa Vega, his spy girlfriend, and the two couldn't be happier.

Now, Logan works in a hospital in his hometown; Kendall makes music for his own band, Heffron Drive, and hosts his own show, Koffee with Kendall; and James has his own solo career, just like he's always wanted. Carlos has been the only one to move out of Minnesota. He and Alexa got married, moved to Hawaii, and started a family; they are both still acting.

It's been 4 days since Camille last spoke to Logan. Things must've been really busy at the hospital. She's been missing talking to her boyfriend but she understands his constantly busy schedule. He's been working 6 days a week, with a full 24 hours to rest before he starts working again. He's also on-call 24 hours a day. Usually they would talk to one another after he got off work (usually around 10pm) but recently, he's been spending more and more time at work because of the constant spread of the virus. They've been getting more and more patients every day since this whole thing started. When he finally did get off work these days, she would be asleep by the time he called.

Speaking of their calls, her cell phone began to ring. She quickly checked the caller ID, 'Logan', and checked the time, '12:03am.' Sighing, she answered it after 2 rings.

"Hey Logie."

Logan closed his eyes and let out a breath of relief at the sound of her beautiful voice. Even at 15 hundred miles away, her voice was just as sweet as if they were together at the Palm Woods. He quickly glanced at the clock and noticed it was after midnight. He silently cursed himself for calling her so late.

Oh,
Wait a minute before you tell me anything, how was your day?
'Cause I have been missing you by my side, yeah

Did I awake you out of your dream?

I'm sorry but I couldn't sleep

You calm me down

There's something 'bout the sound of your voice

I'm never, never (never as far away as it may seem)

Soon we'll be together

We'll pick up right where we left off

They talked for an hour before he had to go to sleep, he had to get to the hospital at 10am the next morning. They said their goodnights before hanging up. Camille stared at the device in her hands, a tear escaping her eyes. It reminded her of the calls she would get when Big Time Rush was on tour and he would call her every night. It didn't matter what city they were in or what they were doing, he would call her every night. It took him a while to work out the time differences but he finally got it.

She remembered the first time he tried.

Flashback (this part is from "Whatever The Distance" by Kate-Emma)

Logan glanced behind him at the New York hotel room. James was fast asleep on top of his doona, lying sideways across the bed where he'd collapsed after another performance. His mouth hung open and he looked completely out of it. Logan knew how he felt. Their last performance had left him drained too but before he could sleep he had someone to talk to.

"Hello?" Camille's voice was small and cautious, as if she didn't believe she was receiving the call, and Logan smiled.

"Hey, how's it going?"

"Logan? This is a pleasant surprise." The old Camille tone returned quickly. "I'm playing checkers with Jo." She covered the mouthpiece. "She's really good."

"Kendall probably showed her a few moves. I'll teach you how to beat her when I get back."

"Sounds great." He heard her move her next piece and Jo gave a small groan. "So, how was the Time Square performance?"

"Good. Fantastic actually. Except it's freezing here."

"Coming from someone from Minnesota? I hope you haven't gone LA native on us?" Camille joked.

"I may have. I even enjoyed hearing Bitters' very welcoming tones."

"He bought a guard dog for the front lobby." Camille spoke as if the whole thing didn't surprise her at all. At a place like the Palmwoods nothing ever did. "We got rid of it eventually but we could've used a Big Time Plan to eradicate it sooner."

"Sorry we couldn't help." They were silent for a moment until he spoke again. "I better let you go, it's getting late. Can I give you a call from our next location?"

"You mean Argentina? Hey, if you're paying for the international calls then why should I care?" But despite her attempt at an impassive tone, he could tell she wanted him to.

"How well do you know the tour locations?"

"I may have the website up 24/7 but on the level of weird it rates lower than a random call for no apparent reason." She teased.

"I had a reason to call," Logan justified. "I wanted to hear your voice."

"That's sweet." Camille cooed.

"And this would be the part where you slap me, am I right?"

She gave a short laugh. "I miss that part."

"Me, not so much." He laughed back. "I'll let you get back to losing to Jo. Night."

"Night Logan." She hung up and Logan hung up too, returning to his bed as James started to snore. Throwing a pillow at his roommate's head, he laid back on his other pillow and closed his eyes.

End Flashback

And he kept his promise. He had called her at each new location - Argentina, Australia, South Africa, England, Japan, and Hawaii. If his calls proved one thing, it was that wherever he was, she was the one he would wait on at the end of the day. It didn't matter that he had a million girls screaming his name every night. He only cared for Camille. It didn't matter that he was halfway across the world. The Big Time Rush concert tour would end and she would be back in his arms.

Paris, London, Tokyo

There's just one thing that I gotta do

(Hello, tuck you in every night on the phone)

(Hello, tuck you in every night on the phone)

And I can hardly take another goodbye

Babe, it won't be long

You're the one that I'm waiting on

(Hello, tuck you in every night on the phone)

Girl I'll be thinking about you worldwide, worldwide, worldwide

Girl I'll be thinking about you worldwide, worldwide, worldwide

(Girl I'll be thinking about you)

Yes, I may meet a million pretty girls that know my name

But don't you worry, 'cause you have my heart

It ain't easy to keep on moving city to city

Just get up and go

The show must go on so I need you to be strong

I'm never, never (never as far away as it may seem)

Soon we'll be together

We'll pick up right where we left off

When he would call, he would talk about how their location was. Then she would fill him in on what was happening at the Palm Woods. Like that time where their breakfasts were cooked in front of them in South Africa and James ended up burning his hand. And that time where Lightning was filming a commercial and everyone was involved, which made Logan homesick.

Regardless of what they talked about, they knew that deep down in their hearts, their hearts belong together and they could get through anything and everything. Each phone call made them miss each other a little less because they knew that it was one less day until they saw each other. They were the kind of couple who would have a countdown of days until they saw each other. From the point of view of the other boys and their girlfriends, it was kinda cute. Sometimes, the others would get in on each other's phone calls.

Like when they were in South Africa, the boys were used to Logan calling Camille at every new location they performed. With that in mind, Carlos decided to steal the phone from Logan when the method actress picked up.

Flashback (this part was also in "Whatever The Distance")

"Tomorrow calling!"

"CARLOS!" There was a rustle on the phone. "Hey, sorry about that."

Camille laughed "It's okay. He sounds surprisingly awake for 7am."

End Flashback

Camille would have to admit, it felt kind of funny that the other guys knew about his ritual. They would keep teasing him that he was whipped. Logan would prefer it as Camille keeping him grounded and sane while he was on the road with three other boys who he would constantly tell himself that he "gotta get new friends."

She would find it endearing that no matter what the boys seemed to get into, they would always stick together and support each other. Like when James and Kendall helped him ask her to the Palm Woods Prom. Or when he, Carlos, and James were trying to help Kendall get through his break up with Jo.

Sometimes, when she was with Jo, Lucy, or even Alexa, their respective boyfriend would be pulled into the phone call and talk about random things. Camille sighed, enjoying the memories she had when she was a teen and the only worries she had revolved around the boy who held her heart for so many years.

Since she started their real relationship after their second world tour, she started to mellow out a bit. Sure, she was still the method actress who over-exaggerated everything but Logan had revealed that it was one of his favorite things about her. They kept each other grounded and sane during the good and the bad times of their relationship. There were a few instances where they would temporarily break up and she wouldn't speak to him for days, but overall, life for them was pretty good.

But recently, they started to become distant. Camille could tell from her phone calls from Logan that he seemed a little on edge. At first, she thought it was stress from work, from working too hard and too long. But now, they have become more frequent. He would call later in the night and their calls were shorter than before. There were more pauses between them. She started to question the state of their relationship. She had talked to Jo about it one day.

"He's probably planning something big. I wouldn't think too much about it."

So that's what she did. She put the thought in the back of her mind and didn't think a whole lot about it. She still, however, had a nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach, like something was going to happen, and she wasn't sure if it was good or bad.

So when James called her out of the blue one day, she was curious. Sure, she still kept in touch with all the guys but it was weird. Right when she picked up, she didn't get the chance to greet him when he asked her what she was doing that weekend. She didn't have much of an answer, as she was still stuck inside, the shelter-in-place order was still to be lifted. The blond boy had an excited tone in his voice when he told her to not plan anything for that weekend. She questioned his intentions but reassured herself that it was James Diamond, the guy totally in love with Lucy Stone ever since she stepped foot at the Palm Woods almost 9 years ago. She agreed, they said their goodbyes and hung up.

A few days later, she had gotten a text from Kendall if she could help him with lyrics for a song that he was writing for his band. She wasn't the best at writing song lyrics but she agreed to help him. They had decided to video chat the next day.

"So what do you want to say in this song?"

"I'm not sure. I guess about finding 'the one' and falling in love."

"So another song about Jo?" Kendall could only nod shamelessly. Man, did the guy have it bad. "Okay. So what do you have so far?"

"Well I was thinking something like 'You lit the match, shook me awake/The fire grew, you fanned the flames/It burned until the walls let in the light'."

"So it's like Jo lit the fire in your heart and is keeping it aflame?"

"Kinda.."

"Hmmm.." Camille started to think. "How about something about looking for something? Maybe something like 'Cause we're all passing time/Looking for the rush that makes us feel alive'."

"That's good." He wrote down the lyrics on his notepad. "What should come next?"

"How about how it makes you feel?"

"How does what feel?"

"Being in love, silly! I know what love feels like for me but I want it from your perspective. Everyone is different."

It was then and there that Kendall revealed his feelings to someone who wasn't his girlfriend. It felt awkward at first but they soon fell into easy conversation. This was Kendall Knight, the member of Big Time Rush who she first slapped when they first came to the Palm Woods and her temporary figure skating partner. He was the most level-headed of the group and often the peace-keeper.

It was finally the weekend and Camille was curious on why James wanted her to keep the weekend open from her own plans. In an attempt to be productive, she was trying to read a book but kept staring at the same page for the past 10 minutes. She assumed that she was waiting for a text or call from James to finally ask him what was going on. Her phone rang, BTR's song 'Paralyized' playing as her ringtone. She was pleasantly surprised that it was Logan who was requesting a call. Camille was confused. Unless she was mistaken, it was one of Logan's work days in the hospital. Curious, she answered the phone anyway, hoping he was calling her on one of his breaks.

"Hey Logan. What's up?"

"Hey. I was wondering what you're doing right now." He sounded a little out of breath but Camille assumed it was from running around the hospital to each of his patients.

"Well, you just rescued me from reading the same page over and over again." She made a circle motion with her hand but realized that Logan couldn't see her. "I was just waiting for James to call. He had called me this week to ask me what I was doing this weekend. I also helped Kendall write a song this week."

Logan smiled at this. It was nice to hear his girlfriend still kept in touch with his friends. "Well, it sounds like you had a busy week."

Camille dramatically flopped down on the couch she was sitting in. "Ugh! You have no idea." Logan chuckled a little. "Like you're one to talk. How's it been at the hospital? Any new cases?"

Logan pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger, the stress of the topic getting to him. He took a deep breath before answering his girlfriend. "You know, the same old thing that's been happening. We've been having more people come in and it's been getting harder and harder. Three people died yesterday so I'm getting really worried that the virus is never going to stop spreading." Camille felt instant regret of asking about the hospital, especially after hearing the strain in his voice.

"Oh Logie. I'm so sorry. I know it's been hard on you and I feel so lucky that you try to help these people every day. I'm so proud of you." Logan smiled a little, hearing the genuine honesty in her voice.

"Thanks Cam. I really appreciate your love and support through this. It certainly isn't easy and it's not the same thing every day, but we manage. They're all good people. I just wish we can save them all." Logan backed into a wall for support and slid down the wall. He rested his hand that wasn't holding his phone on his forehead, the topic taking a toll on him.

"I know how you feel but you do the best you can do. You can't save everyone." Camille knew that it wasn't the best thing to say but it was honest. There was a short pause before Logan spoke again.

"Look Cam, I gotta go. I need to do something." There was a knock on her door, where Camille sat up, alert.

"There's someone at my door.. Keep doing what you're doing and stay as safe as you can. I'm so proud of you."

"Thanks Cam. Bye, love you."

"Love you too," she hung up then cautiously walked toward her door. She didn't look through the peephole, figuring it was the mail person or someone dropping off a package. When she did open the door, she was shocked and surprised.

"Happy to see me in the flesh?" Camille didn't waste any time before she latched herself onto her boyfriend. At the moment, she didn't care that she had to stay 6 feet apart from him. She didn't care that she was supposed to be wearing a facemask. She didn't even care that he was supposed to be in Minnesota.

All she cared about was having the man she loved more than anything in her arms. Logan seemed to have the same thoughts as he tightly wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Gosh, I missed you so much, you have no idea."

"I think I have some idea. About as much as I missed you."

He cupped her chin, holding her face, before looking into her brown eyes. "This whole pandemic and shelter thing has been driving me insane so I had to see the one person who could keep me sane and grounded."

"So this was what you were talking about when you said you needed to do something?" Logan just nodded and rested his forehead against hers for a few moments, keeping his breathing steady. They were both reveling in the fact that they were here, together, not a care in the world. "But what about work? Don't you have to go back to Minnesota?" He shook his head.

"I called in this morning and asked for the weekend off. Said that I needed a break from the hospital. I need to be back by Monday." Camille was uttered speechless.

"So that means…" she began but the question died on her lips. Logan seemed to understand what she was going to say.

"Yes, yes it does."

"And then you get to…"

"Yes, yes I do." Camille couldn't contain her excitement any further so she gave a series of small hops then latched her arms around his neck again, her eyes watering with joy. She got the man she loved for a whole weekend. It was the best feeling in the world.

Yes, I may meet a million pretty girls that know my name

But don't you worry

'Cause you have my heart

So, what'ya think? I was gonna have Logan propose at the end but I just thought it'll be too cheesy. Though, I do love cheese... Smoked Aged Gouda and Brie are my favorite.
