Prologue

"Catch them!", a man in a police attire yelled to his accomplices over the noise of distinct sirens wailing.

Warning gunshots echoed through the bank with red flashing emergency lights. He had to admit that the robbers did a good job planning their escape, but nevertheless, they had failed.

The officer stealthily slid through the bank corridors into the safe rooms, holding his gun steadily. Then he spotted a shadow.

"I have an eye on target. I repeat, I have an eye on the target", he spoke into the radio chip on his shoulder while slowly inching towards the shadow.

In one fluid move, he turned and aimed at the source of the shadow, but he didn't find anyone there. He lowered his guard.

Wrong move. He felt someone grab his neck and elbow his back. The attacker was strong, but wasn't smart. Upon a deadly impulse, he hastily aimed his gun to shoot the attacker, but pulled the trigger at another angle.

Thunk.

Both the attacker and him froze to look at the young girl who he had shot. She looked about 16, and the bullet had shot her right in the heart. Her blue eyes reflected the red light, and she fell with a thud.

"No no no-", the attacker screamed and punched the officer in the knee and face, effectively knocking him out. The officer fell to the ground, clutching his head. His vision became blurry. The attacker ran towards the fallen girl and muttered something inaudible to her, crying in agony. The girl put her hand on his face before falling limp. The officer saw the blonde teenager who had attacked him drag another shocked younger girl away, as the sound of the sirens became nearer.

The two of them ran away, leaving the officer alone with the dead girl.

He heard his officers call his name vaguely before he passed out.

"Officer Poseidon!"
