II: It's All About the Game and How You Play It

[You have slept in your own bed. Your HP and MP are back to 100%. Any ailments have been cured.]

I swiped my hand through the text box, making it disappear. I yawned drowsily. I looked over my night stand to see the clock.

"4:00 AM? I guess it's not that bad."

I rolled out of bed and began to do my routine stretches. Stretching was important for bone and muscle growth. If your joints are too tight, they won't have any room to grow.

As soon as I was done with my stretches, I got to my push-ups. Due to still being a kid, I couldn't do much. I've heard that if young children work out too hard or overexert themselves, then it will stunt their growth. I clearly didn't want that to happen. So I made it pretty reasonable.

I was able to get to 75 pushups before I felt pain. I probably could have stopped there, but I wanted to push myself. I willed myself to get all the way to 100. By the time I got to 100, I was out of breath and collapsed on the floor.

[STR stat has gone up by 1! STR stat has gone up by 1! VIT stat has gone up by 1!]

I smirked in victory. That was exactly what I wanted. Pushing myself past my current limitations was a good way to level up my physical stats without having to dump skill points into them. It was a way more efficient method of increasing your stats. Plus my body is still developing and growing so it will naturally grow stronger. I don't have to waste my points for now.

[INT stat has gone up by 1! INT stat has gone up by 1! WIS stat has gone up by 1! WIS stat has gone up by 1!]

And it seems as though The Gamer ability agreed with me! Nice! I wasn't expecting to upgrade my intellect and wisdom too.

'"Alright let's see where I currently stand. Status."

Background: Jeffrey Hyoudou is the biological son of ? and ?. Before he was reincarnated into the world of High School DxD, he was a kind, smart and down to earth young man who had big dreams and ambitions. However his life was cut short due to sacrificing his life for a stranger. This act of righteousness and selflessness opened up the opportunity for him to gain a second chance at life and truly live up to his potential and destiny in life. He was gifted with the power of The Gamer and with it, he will find his Destiny and make sure he fulfills his purpose in life. He is dead set on this goal and won't let anything or anybody stop him becoming The Very Best. Jeffrey was adopted by the Hyoudou family after his biological mother died after childbirth and his father left him on their front porch due to not being able to raise for currently unknown reasons. Jeffrey wants to find out who his parents were, and receive answers. He loves his adopted mother and father, Mikki and Gorou Hyoudou and is grateful that they accepted him into their wonderful family. He also deeply loves his brother Issei, and would do anything to protect him.

Powers: The Gamer, The Child of Destiny, Fire Dragon Slaying Magic, Natural Affinity to element of fire.

Strengths: Jeffrey has the power of The Gamer which gives a wide variety of skills and potential to go off of. He is also The Child of Destiny but he doesn't know exactly what that is yet or what it does since he's too low a level. His bloodline is very powerful and gives him even more potential and makes him naturally stronger, faster, and more durable than most people even at age 4. He is not sure what his bloodline or race he was born to since he is too young and too low a level. The Gamer's Spirit and Manifestation enhance all of these to lengths that are unfathomable. Jeffrey can achieve anything he wants to achieve, as long as he believes in himself and works hard enough. There is no limit to what he can become. He has knowledge of DxD, and other fictional verses which truly make his potential in learning new skills and powers greater. He is already a really proficient mage with his Fire Dragon Slaying Magic. Very smart, cunning, kind, and is willing to learn things from anyone.

Weaknesses: Although Jeffrey has a lot of potential and is already pretty formidable, especially for a 4 year old, he is still too young. He isn't able to train to the best of his ability and truly level up his skill due to the physical limitations of his current body. He still has a long way to go before he is even close to reaching his best possible version of himself. He also still needs time to get used to The Gamer ability and all of his new supernatural abilities. Also his kind natured heart may be something that enemies could exploit to receive mercy or gain the upper hand on him. Jeffrey may also doubt himself at times which could lead to him not fully manifesting his Destiny.

As I read through the status, I couldn't help but agree with most of it. This power is truly amazing. It goes beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of back in my past life. Compared to this world, the "real world" was kind of boring. Over here I can do so much more and affect so many more people. That just started to make me wonder. If I hadn't gotten run over by that drunk driver… what would I have really amounted to?

Someone could perceive me dying prematurely as the greatest blessing in disguise. Who wouldn't want to be transported into the world of one of their favorite Anime and be able to level up and achieve whatever they want to achieve? That shit was just badass. But it did come at the cost of my old life, my old family and friends, who I pray are doing okay.

Speaking of praying, I made sure to pray to God every day. It was one of the strategies of leveling up [The Gamer's Spirit]. It was also just a habit. I was pretty religious in my past life and at least in this world, all of that supernatural stuff exists so why not?

The Child of Destiny title was confusing. The game refused to tell me what it was. Every time I tapped on it to get details, I would get this message.

[You are currently too low a level and too young to know exactly what this title is and what it does. Minimum age requirement- 18 years old. Minimum Level requirement- Level 1,000]

1,000 levels? That was going to fucking take a while. It annoyed me a bit that I had to wait for 18 years and I also had to grind all the way to level 1,000 just to know what it is? It must be something big and important. And I'll have to be strong and old enough to handle it.

Another thing that confused me at first were the multipliers to my HP, MP, and stats besides LUC. Every time I tapped on the multipliers to get more info on why and how they were there, I also received this message.

[You are currently too young and too low a level, to know or understand exactly why or how your stats are intrinsically receiving these multipliers. The only hint I'll give you is that it has something to do with your bloodline and your birth parents. Minimum age requirement- 16 years old. Minimum Level requirement- Level 400.]

Well, I won't have to wait too long to know more about the multipliers at least. Level 400 is way easier to get to in a shorter amount of time. It will still be a grind though. But hey, no pain no gain.

The multipliers are still very beneficial. It even increases the amount of stat points I have, which is crazy useful. Just for being born to my parents. I feel like such a cheat, but hey, there's nothing much I can do about it. It is not like I chose my parents, and if I have natural talent, I'm going to use it to the best of my ability! Plus, I'm still going to have to put the work in, in order for those multipliers to even mean anything. It also seems like the multipliers increase as my levels increase so that's even more busted.

I looked at my stats. These were pretty much the basic and foundational attributes of any RPG video game. It is simple and outlines what your character is strongest or weakest at using a number system.

[STR: STR is short for Strength. It is what determines how strong or powerful you are physically. The higher your STR, the more damage you can deal to opponents. This includes, striking and lifting strength. This stat is compared with an enemy's vitality to determine the base damage of a character's attacks. This stat is very important to almost all physical damage dealing jobs. STR can be increased by doing activities that require exertion of your muscles or type of physical labor.]

I was able to upgrade my STR via calisthenics and bodyweight training. However, there is really only much that a 4 year old could do. I didn't need this stat to be too high for right now. Once I am older, I'll be able to really grind it out.

[DEX: DEX is short for Dexterity. This stat is responsible for your combat, travel, and reaction speed. Higher DEX will equate to faster reflexes, reaction time, agility, acrobatics, and how well you can coordinate. Dexterity also impacts your accuracy with your melee attacks and how well you can counter an enemy's attack. Dexterity can be leveled up via aerobic exercises and anything that deals with speed or body coordination.]

I am definitely going to keep this stat as high as possible. Preferably around the same as my STR. It's generally best to have proportional power and speed. Being really quick and fast is nice, but it won't do much if your attacks don't do damage. Hitting like a truck is great, but what's the point if you can't even land a single hit on your opponent? The first thought that came to mind was Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks Vs Perfect Cell in Dragon Ball Z. Trunks sacrificed vital speed for bulky muscles that didn't even do much of anything because he couldn't even catch his opponent. Super Saiyan 2 Gohan is what you should be aiming more for. The best of both worlds, monster levels of strength and dexterity in one package. I'll make sure that my enemies won't be able to out damage or out pace me in a fight.

[VIT: VIT is short for Vitality. This stat determines your level of stamina, endurance, and durability. In both the physical and mental sense, vitality refers to a feeling of aliveness. The word itself is derived from vita or "life". In the physical sense, this vitality refers to feeling healthy, capable, and energetic. The higher your VIT, the higher your max HP. This will also make you last longer in a fight. Vitality is a stat that is compared with an attacker's strength to determine the damage curve and reduces the maximum amount of damage that a character takes from a blow. Raise VIT to live longer, healthier, and have higher levels of energy. VIT will help you recover faster from wounds and damage received or anything mentally or physically taxing. VIT can also allow you to perform better in acts of "intimacy."]

I blushed at the last line. Why was this Game so damn perverted?! I'm only 4 years old right now, the fuck did I need to know wthat for?

[Just letting you know for future reference. And I'm not a pervert. You're just a prude.]

"I AM NOT!" I lowly shouted. My brother and parents were still sleeping and I didn't need to wake them up over me arguing with a video game.

VIT was important for obvious reasons. Higher VIT=HIgher HP. The more HP I have, the better. No point in having power and speed, but I can only last for a few moments in a battle. Sometimes the way to win is via outlasting your opponent. Let them tire out and weaken themselves first, and then you come in and take advantage. VIT is arguably more important than STR and DEX since it gives me more opportunities in a battle and will allow me to take more hits since it reduces the maximum amount of damage I take, depending on my VIT compared to my opponent's STR. My recovery is also faster, the higher my VIT is. I'll probably keep this stat slightly higher than STR and DEX to keep it safe.

[INT: INT is short for intelligence. It determines how knowledgeable and smart you are overall. The higher your INT, the more potential you have to gain more knowledge. The higher your INT, the higher your maximum MP is. INT helps determine the effectiveness of your magic spells. It isn't just confined to elemental magic spells such as fire, but any kind of magic imaginable. Holy Magic, Light Magic, Devil Magic, Black, and White Magic, Ninjutsu, etc. You can increase this stat by reading books, trying out new spells, or just generally doing any activity that could increase your knowledge or intellect. The higher your INT, the more potent and diverse your magic will be.]

This stat is of course gonna be important since I'm a mage who uses Dragon Slayer Magic. I need MP to cast spells, so the higher my MP the better. And the strength of those spells rely on my INT. I plan on learning tons of different types of magic, so automatically I'm going to focus on my INT being as high as possible. Plus, I just like learning about new things and overall being knowledgeable. Knowledge is power. You gotta be the smartest guy in the room.

[WIS: WIS is short for Wisdom. This stat is responsible for your ability to make wiser decisions, how you use your knowledge and it is directly linked to your mana regeneration. WIS is a stat that determines the effectiveness of Healing Magic spells, White Magic Enhancing Magic Spells, Black Magic Debuffing Spells, Black Magic Curse Spells, and also has a direct impact on a character's Magical Defense and Resistance. WIS also plays a large role in determining the potency and power of your Chi, Ki, Chakra, Senjutsu, Spirit, and any attacks, skills, or techniques that rely on those power sources. The wiser you are, the better decisions and choices you will make. WIS plays a significant factor when it comes down to making Ultimate Choices, which are choices that will come around when something major occurs and your decision could affect everything.]

That last bit made me gulp. Looks like I'm going to have to make some Ultimate Choices in the future that could affect everything? What does that even mean? Why does this Game love to put so much pressure on me?! Whatever, I'm just going to have to deal with it for now. I better make sure my WIS stat is high enough when the time comes for the Ultimate Choices. Whatever those may be.

[CHA: CHA is short for Charisma. It is defined as compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others. Charisma is the magnetic and charming personal quality that draws people to someone. A person with charisma is thought to be able to easily influence others. A personal charm that is irresistibly attractive to others. An individual with high CHA has highly developed communication and persuasion skills that he or she uses to influence and excite other people. An example of a charismatic person is someone who everyone likes and wants to be around because of his compelling personality. Ways to naturally increase your CHA are, start showing more expression on your face, listen actively to what people are saying, practice reading other people's emotions, share stories and anecdotes, ask rhetorical questions, setting high goals, and express confidence that you can achieve them, and using words that people can relate to. Evoke the aura of a leader. In Christian theology, the term appears as charism, an endowment or extraordinary power given by the Holy Spirit. The Hebrew and Christian Bible record the development of divinely conferred charisma. Throughout, "the paradigmatic image of the charismatic hero is the figure who has received God's favor." In other words, divinely conferred charisma applied to highly revered figures. Thus, Charisma is a prestigious quality that not many people have. These people stand out from their groups and are usually the ones who lead the pack and have the greatest accolades. Increasing your CHA stat will attract many powerful and unique individuals. Whether they be allies or enemies. It will also make it easier for you to make friends with virtually anyone, and it will greatly benefit you in courting mates for yourself. Even for women that are normally impossible to get.]

As I read the giant description of CHA, I had to say I was not expecting it to be such a significant stat. In the beginning, I thought it to be the least important out of all of the stats since I don't necessarily need it all that much for fighting. But as I looked deeper into and started thinking outside of the box, I was a little disappointed in myself. How did I take such an important attribute for granted? First of all, life ain't all about fighting. And even if it was, power isn't everything. To me, life is all about the relationships and bonds you create with people. Yeah I do want to be the strongest I can be, but I do want to form meaningful bonds with people. If I never established any deep or emotional connections with anybody, then what was the point of my life? CHA was perfect for that. I'm definitely gonna keep my eye on this stat and use it as effectively as possible. Making powerful and important allies? Who wouldn't want that?

I got a little embarrassed at the last part when it mentioned courting mates. Jesus, what was up with this Game and sex and girls. Like I get it, you're a pervert and we're in the anime with arguably the best and hottest waifus, but you don't gotta remind me every damn time!

[If I don't then you will probably forget and let the opportunities pass you up. I'm simply reminding you of your potential. Were you not the one who proclaimed that you were not going to waste a second in this life? That any opportunity that you see you will take it? Why does that only need to apply to power and knowledge? You just said it yourself, power means nothing if there are no bonds or meaningful relationships to back it up with! So if you really want to Become the Very Best, why would you not want to get as many partners and mates as possible? Nothing, absolutely nothing is out of the realm of possibility. Impossible should never be in your dictionary. You must conquer and dominate. Don't go for anything less, you prude.]

"You do make a good point… alright then. I won't rule it out completely. I'll never settle. I'll keep going until I can't go anymore. And even if I reach my ceiling, I'll break and make a new one!"

[CHA stat has increased by one! CHA stat has increased by one!]

"Let's go! Alright, I think I'm going to get the hang of this."

[LUC: LUC is short for Luck. This stat is pretty self-explanatory. It determines how lucky you are. This stat will make things more likely to be favorable for you. It also gives you better reward drops from enemies and quests. Higher LUC also increases the chance of landing a critical hit. Unlike all of the other stats, this cannot be naturally leveled up. You must put in stat points or if quests reward with more LUC, with other modifiers. Remember, Luck favors the prepared.]

"Meh, I guess I can't really complain. It would be weird if I could naturally increase LUC. That would be pretty contradictory since the whole concept of luck is that it is not in our control. The plan for now is to upgrade my other stats naturally and just stack up on stat points. I have to be patient and wait for the right time to use them." I said as I finally finished the rundown of all of the stats, what they do, how I level them up and the best way to go about them.

I decided that I was going to be a Warrior Mage. Basically a Warlock, but I could also fight without spells and wasn't going to be physically weak. In games, the mage type were generally the squishies, meaning they had low HP and took a lot of damage. However, their recovery was the greatest in the game and a wide variety of abilities and powers made up for it. They were my favorite class in those games. But I also loved the Warrior type. People like Son Goku and Brock Lesnar came to mind. Spectacular physical specimens who were absolute tanks and could also dish out tons of output. Mages had higher potential to do overall more damage since their Mana manipulation and MP levels were way higher but I didn't want to go down after like 4 hits. So I'm going to need the best of both worlds. The iron will and power of the Warrior. The wisdom and versatility of a mage. Both combined together will make the ultimate fighter. One who won't have any limits into what he can become and can achieve virtually anything. Whatever I want to do or get, I will as long as I put my mind, body, and soul towards it.

I will never be defeated.

[WIS stat has increased by 10!]

[New class created!]

[Ultimate Warrior Mage: The physical dominance of the warrior and gladiators combined with the scary genius of Mages and Warlocks combine into one to make the Ultimate Warrior Mage class. Characters with this class have High HP, MP, which are directly proportional to their physical and mental stats. With the talent and knowledge of the greatest Warlocks, and the gifts of the greatest Heroes to ever exist, there is pretty much nothing this class can't achieve. If he is motivated and puts his being into it, then he will manifest. "I will never be defeated." -Jeffrey Hyoudou.(Original Creator of Ultimate Warrior Mage class)]

[Perks: -Max HP and MP will practically be equal no matter what level or attributes your character has. It will automatically adjust those stats to fit this need.

-STR, DEX, VIT, INT, and WIS all increase proportional within one another.

-Hybrid of tank, DPS, and healer. This makes it so that your character is able to learn skills and powers from all three and can integrate it into his own arsenal and even combine the abilities.

-Your awakening meter increases much faster and has a slower cooldown time. Your awakening's power(s) have gone up tenfold.

-The lower your HP goes, your STR, DEX, and VIT steadily goes up during the fight. The lower your MP goes, your INT and WIS steadily goes up during the fight.

-?

-?

-?]

[You have made progress in your Quest, "BECOME THE VERY BEST!" This new development will aid you greatly in your path to fulfil your Destiny.]

Well, I was not expecting for The Game to actually add that as my class. But hey, I probably should not be surprised by these things. I'm convinced that this Game has no limitations, given what it has told and shown me. Reading the description of the Ultimate Warrior Mage just made me all the more confident that I was going to make my mark in this world. I had to use this power to my advantage if I was going to survive and complete my quest. It just made me all the more motivated to train as hard and much as I can to prepare for the threats ahead.

Looking at the perk tree just had my mouth open in awe. They were so busted but that's what made it great. Having equal amounts of HP and MP would definitely be useful since it would prepare me against virtually any enemy. Same goes with the proportional increase of my physical and mental stats. This was going to be fun.

What had me confused though was the awakening perk. Awakening? I didn't even know I had that. Also the three question marks implied that those were hidden stats that I didn't have access to yet since I'm too low of a level, young, or both. I clicked on Awakening to read its description.

[Awakening: Your awakening is your trump card. It is either a transformation or power up that pushes your abilities to their limits. An awakening is an iconic signature change in appearance or the aura of your character. When people awaken, that is when the battle is truly about to get serious. Your awakening brings out the full power in your character. In order to make your awakening gauge go up, you must kill, defeat, inflict damage upon, or take damage from enemies. Support towards and from your allies can also help your awakening meter go up. If you want to have your awakening meter to complete as fast as possible, then it is recommended to have a high INT stat. This will reduce your cooldown as well. The duration of your awakening depends on how powerful it is, your VIT stat, and how many heavy attacks you use during your awakened state. Every awakening is different, has different perks, and drawbacks. A character can have more than one awakening. The stronger the awakening, the higher you need your awakening gauge to be.]

That description made sense. It made me start to get giddy thinking about what type of awakenings I can get. Just imagine, you're in the middle of a heated battle, your opponent has the upper hand on you and they start to get cocky and taunt you. Then you awaken and get tons of times more powerful. Then you start to get the upper hand on THEM and pulverize them to the ground. Oh, just thinking about it gets me excited. I wanted to have a badass awakening to pull out whenever I needed to dominate an enemy who might be a little too strong for me in my base form.

I looked at my available awakenings, but I pouted in disappointment at what I saw.

[Sorry, but you cannot access your awakenings at this point in time. You must first level up to at least level 20 to get your very own awakening. Please come back to this section once you have reached level 20.]

Oh, well that sucked. But what else was I expecting? I'm still only level 9 and 4 years old. Well technically I'm 21 mentally, but I guess the Game didn't really care all that much and just decided to put a level cap to delay my fun. Oh well, I guess it is time to grind and prepare for what's to come!

I already had a pretty good grasp of what's to come thanks to my knowledge of the Highschool DxD Light Novels and Anime. Most of the major events won't be happening until 13 years later when me and Issei are in our second year of high school. That is where canon officially starts. I am going to have to keep on preparing until then since apparently there are major differences in this version of DxD compared to the original one I watched/read in my past life. It was kind of unsettling, but at the same time made me excited since I really did not know what to expect. It pushed me to just train and level up as much as I could for now.

I noticed the sun rising and figured it was time to sun gaze. Sun gazing was one of the activities recommended to increase my [The Gamer's Spirit] passive. At first I was hesitant because back in my old life, we were always told that staring at the sun and being in it for too long would give us skin cancer and make us go blind. But when I tried it, it actually felt really great. The feeling of the radiant heat and light that the sun provides was almost euphoric. It may have had something to do with my Fire Dragon Slaying Magic, since it gave me an immunity to fire and heat but I don't remember Natsu sun gazing and getting stronger from it. It even made my skin darker and gave me a tan due to how much I was in the sun.

As I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, I glanced at my reflection in the mirror. I looked very different from what I did in my past life. For one, I now had dark red hair and I mean the darkest and reddest type of red. It was identical to the color of blood. I welcomed this change however, since red is indeed my favorite color and having anime colored hair is just cool regardless. My hair style was similar to Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail. It was spiked up and seemed to defy gravity which was weird at first but I got used to it. My hair from my past life stood on end as well. My eyes were a vibrant gold that gleamed in the reflection. I would get captivated by my very own eyes, that's how alluring they were.

For a 4 year old boy, I was pretty tall. I stood at about 46 inches, and I barely had any baby fat, if at all. This was more than likely due to me working and leveling up my VIT which should make me naturally healthier. But even before that, I was growing at a very fast rate. Issei is 2 months older than me, but I completely overtook him in height by the time I was 1 month old. My parents got so concerned to the point where they took me to a doctor to see if anything was wrong with me. The doctor concluded that there was nothing out of the ordinary and that I was 100% healthy. In fact my health was so great, that the doctor thought my parents were making me take something.

The only thing I could really come up with for an idea as to how I was growing so fast was it had something to do with my bloodline, that my Game did not want to reveal to me until I was 16 and level 400. I still didn't really understand why it put such a hefty requirement just to know my own heritage and DNA, but I didn't pay much mind to it and instead focused on what was important for right now. That was leveling up and preparing for the big events to come in the next decade.

I went out to sun gaze. The sight was just so breathtaking. I feel as though people just didn't appreciate the little things. Do you ever say, "Man, I'm really grateful that the sun rose today." I'm going to assume not. What if the sun took a day off? We would all die, that's what. If the sun can rise every single day, then what is really our excuse for not putting the time or work to achieve whatever we want to achieve in life? Why are we always complaining about where we are in life when we have the sun that gives light, energy, and life? Why do you like to put the blame on others when you know full well who is truly at fault?

[WIS stat has increased by 1!]

[The Gamer's Spirit has gone up by 1 level!]

[Skill Sun Gazing has gone up by 1 level!]

An increase to WIS, Gamer's Spirit, and Sun Gazing all in one? Now that's what I'm talking about!

Talking to myself sure is beneficial. It's kind of weird at first glance. When you see a stranger talking to themself on the street, you would probably think that they are crazy or have a mental disorder. Maybe they do, but it could also be a possibility that they are a genius. I believe I read somewhere that Albert Einstein talked to himself about everything. Not just him, but many other intellectual people in history as far as I can remember.

I went back inside to my bedroom and laid on it for a while. I usually allowed my small body to rest after a workout and sungazing. This was to let my body develop and calm down from all of the strenuous activity. Like I said, I was still young, so I needed to calm down on the physical training for now. That was alright since I could always just continue my mental and spiritual training. But I kind of was still limited due to being so young. Damn it, I can't believe I'm saying this but can I just grow up already!?

As I was internally crying over being a 21 year old man stuck in a toddler's body, I heard rapid footsteps approaching my bedroom door. I already knew who those footsteps belonged to and prepared myself.

My bedroom door opened, and a little boy with brown hair who I knew all too well jumped on a bed and practically tackled me as I was laying down. Of course it didn't hurt but I pretended like it did.

"GOOD MORNING JEFFREY! Do you know what day it is?"

I sighed but smiled, "I don't know, Issei, what day is it?"

"It's your birthday dummy! You're 4 years old now! Just like me! Aren't you excited?" My brother asked with an almost uncontrollable excitement bubbling in his cute little innocent eyes. It was kind of hard to believe that one day, this wholesome child will become one of the greatest perverts ever. A part of me wanted to preserve his innocence and do everything in my power to stop him from becoming such a shameful pervert. Even though he was physically 2 months older, mentally I was 17 years older than Issei. So I saw him as the baby brother I never had. And when you have a younger sibling, you just get this urge to do anything to protect them. At least that's how it was for me. I never had a younger sibling in my original life. I was the youngest of 7. But they were all half siblings and I never really grew up with them besides one of my brothers. But once he grew old enough, he moved out. I never really interacted with my siblings much.

Now, growing up with Issei and spending time with him has given me an experience that cannot be replicated. Even if he can get annoying and whiny at times, (He's 4, so I can't really complain much), I still love him. It doesn't matter if we are not blood related. I felt closer to him than any of my blood relatives in the past.

"Oh snap, you're right. It is my birthday today. I guess I forgot." I nonchalantly replied to my brother.

"Who forgets their own birthday?"

"I do."

"You're weird."

"Did you even get me a present? There has to be a reason why you're so excited. You probably got me a present." I say smugly. I wonder what Issei could have gotten me. It probably wouldn't have been anything too expensive since he's only 4, but I don't care how expensive it is. Whatever comes from my little brother is a blessing and I'll love it no matter what it is.

"Nope."

"... SIGH. Why am I not surprised… I have a fool for a brother." I chuckled at my insult. He probably didn't even know what fool meant.

"But guess what?! Grandpa and Grandma are coming over to celebrate your birthday!" Issei exclaimed excitedly.

"Oh so that's what's got you so hyped up. Well we haven't seen them in a while, so I can see why you would be excited. I would like to see them as well."

I caught a whiff of a scent of food, "Looks like mom is making breakfast. Let's go eat and prepare for our grandparents to arrive." I grabbed my brother with one hand and gently got him off me and set him aside as I began making my way downstairs.

"Otouto, how are you so strong?! I want to be strong like you! Actually, I'm supposed to be stronger than you since I'm the older one!" Issei whined as he pouted, wanting to know my secrets.

"Hard work, Oni-Chan. Do. The. Work." I replied bluntly.

"You keep saying that but I don't know what it means?!"

"Then you're too young. Wait until you're older."

"BUT I'M OLDER!"

'Oh if only you knew, dear little brother. If only you knew.' I smirked internally. "Your time will come Oni-Chan. Your time will come." I knew what Issei would eventually become. If my knowledge of the anime and light novels still holds weight in this version of the world, then my baby brother will end up becoming a warrior. His feats of power were amazing, especially given how he started out. Very good underdog story. It was great to watch and it was really inspiring. I'm going to make sure that he got to that level of strength, and THENSOME. Don't get me wrong, Issei was pretty powerful but he can be SO MUCH more. He has more potential than what he realizes. I am going to guarantee that he reaches a level that he couldn't even dream of. I don't know if he's going to still want to be the "Harem King" or whatever. It was a funny goal, but hey it's what motivated him. We all have our different dreams, goals, and ambitions. Nothing wrong with him being the Harem King. But he could at least have a proper attitude about it. And being a little less perverted will bring no harm to anyone. I don't blame him though. The girls in this anime are hot as hell. If they looked anything like their anime/light novel counterparts, then me seeing them in the flesh would be a sight to see. But that probably won't happen until we head to Kuoh Academy.

I want to see if there is a way if I can help Issei unlock his Boosted Gear early. I want him to start training at least some bit before cannon. I'm going to need him to be powerful. No brother of mine is allowed to be weak. He and he are going to take this world by storm.

[QUEST ALERT!]

[The Red Dragon Duo: You and your brother Issei both want to become strong. Maybe with slight differences of motivation as to why but nonetheless the goal is the same. You two must work together to be the strongest and greatest brother duo in the world. The Red Dragon Duo. You must help set Issei on the right path and aid him in his training so that he can be the strongest he can be and reach his potential. Issei will be vital to your own development as well. Believe it or not, without him, you won't be able to reach your full potential either. You two need each other. Two parts of a whole. Show the world the power of the Red Dragons.

Difficulty: SSS

Rewards: ?XP, Will be known as the greatest team in the world, Uncover the true power of the Red Dragon, Dragon God Slaying Magic, Dragon God forms, both you and Issei will unlock your true potential, ?, ?,?

Failure: Death, Issei's death, parent's death, possible destruction of the world, your dreams die.]

[Accept/Decline]

'Wow... ' I thought as I read over the quest details. Pretty much anything can proc a quest to arrive. So me and Issei have to become the best duo, huh? The Red Dragon Duo. I like the sound of that. Imagining me and Issei kicking ass and taking names made me even all the more motivated to make sure we make it to the top. SSS difficulty? I'm going to assume that it is going to be pretty damn hard. SSS class doesn't seem to look to be taken lightly. Dragon God Slaying Magic got my attention. So there was a higher level above my current magic. And I'm going to have to complete this quest to attain it. Forms, and unlocked potential as well as hidden rewards. The failure consequences made my skin crawl. As if I was going to let anything happen to my family. I wish someone would dare. I will burn their skin and bones to ashes and send them straight to Hell if anyone would dare even lay a finger on them. And there ain't no way I was going to let the world get destroyed or let my dreams die. I quickly tapped on Accept.

[Thank you for accepting the quest. It's gonna be a hard long term mission but if you two help each other out then and always fight for what's right, then you can do it. This is going to be interesting. I can't wait to see how the Red Dragons will shake this world.]

'I can't wait either, Game. We are going to wreck shit up.'

[Quest Alert!]

[Happy Birthday!: It is your 4th birthday party. Make sure it all goes well and that you spend enough time with your family.]

[Difficulty: C]

[Rewards: 2,500 XP, Closer bond with family, happy moments, you will get to enjoy some nice gifts]

[Failure: Mediocre Birthday]

[Accept/Decline]

Heh, seems easy enough. Just spend time with family and get close with them. I can do that. 2,500 XP is a decent amount for a C-class quest. I tapped on Accept and went downstairs

Well let's go eat breakfast!

After my parents congratulated me on my 4th birthday, we had a nice breakfast. Me and Issei played with each other until we heard the doorbell ring.

"Oh that must be them," Mom said as she looked like she was getting something from the living room.

"I'll get it," Dad got off from his chair and put down the newspaper.

"Jeffrey, they're here! They're here!" Issei exclaimed as he was jumping up and down.

"I know, I heard the doorbell, Issei." Man this kid had way too much energy. But I guess all kids are like that. They are full of vigor and life. It's all they pretty much know.

"Where are my two favorite grandsons in the world!," Juzo Hyoudou, our paternal Grandfather yelled as he gave Issei a big hug. I came to him and gave him a nice gentler hug.

"Hello, Grandfather and Grandmother. Thank you for visiting us on our birthday." I said politely. I noticed he and Grandma had wrapped presents in their hands. They shouldn't have.

"Well how could we not? We weren't able to make it to Issei's birthday 2 months ago. We couldn't miss yours too." Grandma said as she gave both me and Issei a motherly kiss on the cheek. "Oh you two are getting big. Especially you, Jeffrey. You're sprouting up like a beanstalk.

"It's not fair! I should be bigger and stronger. I'm the older one!" Issei complained to our Grandma. She chuckled as she shook her head at her grandson.

"Now now, relax Issei my boy. Everyone grows at a different pace. Your time to grow will come. He just has a head start. That's all."

"Wouldn't he have the head start since he's older?" I asked. Grandma playfully smacked my head, "Shhh. Don't you see I'm trying to encourage him?"

"Alright, alright."

I turned my attention to the wrapped presents, "You guys brought me gifts? You shouldn't have!"

"If we sent gifts over to Issei when it was his birthday, then it's only fair that we bring you presents as well. You are our grandson after all." Grandpa said.

Even though they knew I wasn't their biological grandson, they still treated me as much. I was truly blessed to have been adopted by this family.

"I'm getting the cake ready so that you can blow out your candles, Jeff. After that, you can open up your presents." Dad said from the kitchen.

"Oh well, he can open one early. Here you go kiddo." Grandpa gave me one of the wrapped presents. I carefully unwrapped it to find out that it was a chess set.

"Oh thanks Grandpa! I've been wanting my own chess board." I gratefully thanked him for the gift.

"Chess? How does that game work? Is it like checkers?" Issei asked me.

"Kinda but at the same time no. Chess is a lot more complicated and requires strategy."

"Why do you always like complicated stuff? It makes me get confused."

"It's not that complicated. Anyone can learn the basics. However if you want to get to the advanced level, then yeah that is complicated and pretty difficult." I replied as I finished setting up the board, making sure the pieces were in the right places.

"You wanna go a round, Jeffrey?" Grandpa asked me.

"Sure. I got white."

"Hehe, I have to warn you, I was pretty good at this back in my day. So don't get frustrated if you can't win-"

"Nah, I'm gonna win." I cut him off as I made my first move.

"Confident eh? Let's see where that confidence gets you."

5 minutes later...

"Checkmate." I announced as I moved my pawn putting my Grandfather's King in checkmate.

"He...He checkmated me with a pawn…" He then fell down with a depressed stormy cloud over his head. The others laughed at his misery of losing to a 4 year old at chess.

I already had experience playing Chess in my past life. It was one of my favorite games. And added with The Gamer ability which now gives me the ability to upgrade my Intelligence and Wisdom? Yeah it was a wrap. This was also the reason I wanted a Chess set. Studying this game at the grandmaster level would surely rack up my INT and WIS stats.

"How did you beat him with a pawn? I thought that was the weakest and most useless piece?" My brother asked me curiously. I laughed at the irony of his question. The future pawn of Rias Gremory asking how a pawn could be used to win.

"Pawns are useless Issei. If you use them right, they can be the most useful pieces in the game. And they might actually end up saving your butt at the end of it." I responded, foreshadowing how he will later become a pawn and be the strongest on his team.

"Okay, the cake is ready!" Mom shouted.

We all got around the table and I sat in the chair in front of the cake. They sang the traditional happy birthday song. The cake was red with flames illustrated on it. When they finished singing the song, I blew out the four candles.

"Time to open your presents! Here you go. Happy birthday Jeffrey." My grandparents set down two fairly big boxes. I unwrapped them and gasped in shock at what was uncovered.

"This.. This is.."

"Yup, it is. I remember you mentioning this manga and anime in your sleep one day. I decided to get you both the manga and anime in complete set. I hope you enjoy it." Grandpa explained with a smile.

The manga and anime he was referring to was Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. He must have heard me when I was trying to lucid dream about it and use my Manifestation skill on the characters like how I did with Natsu. But I didn't have much success. Having the entire manga and anime on hand now should make it tens of times easier. I was just surprised that it was the official thing. I remember that the DxD anime had a cheap knockoff of Dragon Ball Z which was an obvious reference to the real thing. Well apparently accruing to my Game, not everything's the same in this word. There can be major and minor differences. It seems as if this is one of them.

"Thanks you guys!" I hugged both of my grandparents. I was truly grateful for this gift. Not just because of me wanting to use manifestation, but Dragon Ball was one of my favorite shows, and I just wanted to rewatch it after so many years.

"Here, this is our gift from me and your father," Mom handed me a smaller but very thick wrapped present. I had a feeling what it was since I asked them to get me a copy of this a few times. I unwrapped the present and my suspicions were proven correct. It was a Holy Bible, King James Version.

"You might have trouble understanding some of the text since it is an old book and super old fashioned in its sentence and word structure. But I'm sure you can get used to it!" Dad said. I asked them if I could get my own copy of the Bible a while ago. At first they were going to get me one of those kiddie Bible's but I told them that I wanted the real thing. I wanted it because the Game said that I could level up my spirit via reading Holy Books such as the bible. Also, it couldn't hurt to read the history of this world. I know that the God of the Bible exists in this universe. Even though He is dead by now… or at least he should be. I believe it will also help increase my WIS stat.

"Why did you want that book? There's no pictures in it!" Issei asked curiously.

"It doesn't have any pictures because it has a lot of information in it. If you want to see pictures, you can read the manga that Grandpa and Grandma got for me." I replied as I began flipping through the pages. Oh that new book smell was so refreshing.

"Oh okay! That seems more interesting and fun to see anyways."

'Oh trust me, you're going to love it!' If Issei was a big fan of the knockoff Dragon Ball in the anime, then just imagine how much he's going to like the real thing.

I bowed to my parents and grandparents, "Thank you for this amazing birthday."

[QUEST COMPLETED!]

[Happy Birthday!: 2,500 XP gained. Closer bond with family achieved, nice gifts, and happy moments!]

Nice. It was time to get back to grinding again…

13 years later...

17 years… wow I've been in this world for that long. It's kind of weird to think that technically speaking, I'm 34 years old mentally but in a 17 year old's body. It was weird but it did have some pros. I was more mature than the majority of people my physical age, much smarter, and wiser which is always a good thing. I get to restart life from scratch and make sure that I don't make the same mistakes I made in my youth back in my past life. I made sure I made every single day count. Relieving my childhood and teenage years were fun and enjoyable. The only real con was that I had to go through puberty and school all over again. Granted, if I wanted to, I could have finished school way earlier. But it was best for me to remain in Kuoh Academy for when shit hits the fan. Plus, I wanted to be close to my brother. I didn't want to leave him alone with those perverts he calls friends. I had to make sure nothing corrupted him and that he was ready for when the events of canon officially start. We are going to start our second year of high school, so it will probably be a little while until then.

I was currently meditating in a forest away from people. I found this forest while I was exploring the city and general area and deemed it to be an appropriate place to train and hone my abilities. It was in nature as well, so it was perfect to train my spirituality.

Currently, I was attempting to unlock my chi and senjutsu. I've been putting it off for a while since I mainly focused on training my magic and physical skills. It was really difficult. It also didn't help that I had no one to teach me. I was just doing it solo and going off from spiritual, religious texts and anime. But today I was determined. I was going to get this shit today. I will sit here and meditate all day and night if I have to. No more excuses. I'm old enough and high enough level, and I even have a nice quiet place to focus.

Let's get this done.

I activated [The Gamer's Body, Mind, and Spirit] all at once. I had to make sure I was completely focused on my energy. I released my ki and attempted to take in the nature energy around me. I focused on the trees, the grass, the flowers, the plants, the animals nearby, the wind, and most importantly the sun. I was thankful for my sun gazing right now. It was making this process a lot easier. The sun was the one who gave life and energy to all living things. If I could learn to absorb the heat from the sun, aka energy, then I should be able to unlock my chi and absorb nature energy.

I felt heat building up in the lower parts of my body. That must mean I was doing something right. Now is the time to focus. The wind began to pick up. I felt the trees… they had voices. Like they were talking to me. I also heard the voices of the animals and grass. This energy was different from magic I normally use. It was calmer and more compact and dense. It was exhilarating but peaceful. I felt the most at peace than I ever felt in my two lives.

Just then, Crimson red flames appeared around my body. They looked like my aura. They were different from my Fire Dragon Slaying magic flames. They were darker and less violent. But they weren't any less powerful. In fact they were even stronger. My pupils became slit and my muscles became more defined. I think my hair got even redder if that was possible.

I heard a ping, and I smiled knowing what that meant.

[First Chakra of the Seven has been unlocked!]

[What are the Seven Chakras? Chakras are the concentrated energy centers of the body. Chakra is a Sanskrit term and it means "wheel" or "disk" and is derived from the root word "cakra". Chakras are spinning wheels of energy/light. Chakras have the loving responsibility of taking in, incorporating and emanating energy to keep us functioning at optimal levels.]

[Muladhara- Base or Root Chakra: Biji mantra (seed sound) is la. It is related to survival. Security, and is closest to the earth, resting at the base of the spine. The color associated with it is red. It is naturally associated with the element earth. The root chakra is afflicted by a sense of smell. When the root chakra is activated and awakened, it causes heightening and refinement of sense of smell and also that of hearing.]

[NEW SKILL UNLOCKED!]

[Chi Manipulation: Active- LVL 1- Chi (Chakra, Ki, etc they are all the same) is the great original power that flows in ones' spirit, i.e. their life-force and turns it into a constant current. It is the natural energy from within the soul. Every living being has chi. Those with chi manipulation can use their chi to amp their internal and external bodies which allows them to perform superhuman feats similar to magic. It is separate from magic though, since it isn't sorcery and doesn't require writing or magic circle spells. All you need is the body. Chi is directly linked to your VIT. The higher the VIT, the more Chi you have and the more chi you have the more powerful you are. You can now perform energy blasts and jutsu.]

[Senjutsu:Active- LVL 1- Senjutsu is the power to control the flow of life energy or ki in living beings. Using it, one can strengthen both their internal and external bodies or even cause vegetation around them to bloom or wither. Senjutsu users are able to sense the ki and auras of others thus letting them track targets from far away distances. Through disrupting the ki of their opponent's ki or severing it, it is possible to cause direct damage to their spirit and using this as an attack could result in killing their opponent. As such, there are very few ways to defend against Senjutsu.]

[Sage Mode/Sennin Modo: Sage mode is the transformation one undergoes once they learn how to harness Senjutsu. Everyone has a different Sage Mode. Typically they take after animals or their own spirit animals. Sage Mode increases STR, DEX, and VIT by 40 times.]

[SUB TREE OF SAGE MODE UNLOCKED]

[Dragon Sage Mode: Sage mode taken after the mythical Dragons. This will give the user aspects of the Dragon. You can learn Dragon Sage mode by either learning it directly from a Dragon or having a Dragon-like spirit. First time users may gain physical dragon characteristics, such as scales, canines, claws, etc. Another sign of an Imperfect Sage Mode is your element covering your entire aura. In order to acquire Perfect Sage Mode, the user must gain control of the element and keep all of the natural energy inside instead of letting it leak.]

[Sage Arts: A Sage Art is imbued with Nature Energy. The user will be able to add nature energy on top of preexisting jutsu's and magic spells.]

'Sweet! I did it!' I excitedly read all of the text boxes and was happy with my results. I could now use Chi and Senjutsu. This is gonna be so useful in the future. Sage Mode drastically increased my physical stats, which makes sense, given how powerful it was shown to be in Naruto. And now I can combine it with my spells. My future enemies have no idea what's coming to them.

"A human using Senjutsu? Interesting."

I turned around surprised to hear another person's voice. Kinda ironic since I was in Sage Mode and I was supposed to be able to sense energy.

My eyes widened when I took a good look at who's voice that belonged to. I thought the voice did sound familiar and so was the character I was staring at. But I did not expect to cross paths with her at least for another few months. I instinctively used Observe.

Name: Kuroka

Age: 20

Title(s): The Black Cat

Race(s): Nekomata (Nekoshou), Reincarnated Devil

Affiliation(s): Khaos Brigade, Vali Team

Level: 65

HP: 5,000,000

MP: 15,750,000

STR:97

DEX:114

VIT:160

INT:110

WIS:99

CHA:100

LUC:75

Background: Kuroka is a Nekoshou, a rare variant of Nekomata, and member of the Vali Team. She is the older sister of Koneko and is a SS-Class Stray Devil, one of the most wanted criminals in the Underworld for killing her master. The general people believe that she did this because she became drunk with power and wanted freedom from her master. But the truth is that she did that in order to protect her sister from their Devil Master who was going to run unethical experiments on her. She is currently residing with the Khaos Brigade and Vali Team but she occasionally comes to town to check up on her little sister Koneko to make sure she is doing alright. She is not evil and actually wants to make up for what she did and put her sister through hardship. But she fears that Koneko will not open herself up to Kuroka and won't accept her due to what she did. She simply just wants to protect her sister and make sure she's safe.

Powers: Senjutsu, Youjutsu, Touki, Kasha, Magic

Strengths: Expert at Senjutsu. Being a Nekoshou, Kuroka is very proficient in Senjutsu, being able to control her Chi to strengthen both her internal and external body, as well as detect others nearby to control nature around her. She is also an expert magician, being a bishop worth two Bishop pieces, Kuroka has remarkable magic potential, abilities, and talent. Her power rivals that of an Ultimate-Class Devil. Very proficient with Youjutsu as well, letting her use offensive and defensive spells.

Weaknesses: While Kuroka is very talented and at a relatively young age, she isn't perfect. Her Senjutsu can be improved on, as well as her other abilities. If she comes across an opponent who overwhelmed her in power and speed, there isn't really much she can do. She also gets agitated when she is losing or things don't go her way. Kuroka also has a habit of being lazy and sometimes might not necessarily take things seriously as she can be too easy going or playful.

Opinion of Jeffrey: She is impressed that a human was able to harness Senjutsu. Kuroka sensed a large gathering of Nature Energy gathering in the forest. The quality of the Nature Energy was high enough that it made her want to check it out. She was surprised to find a teenage boy meditating and using Senjutsu. She thinks Jeffrey is hot, and is attracted to his power and energy. She's thinking he might be a potential mate to bear strong offspring.

I blushed in embarrassment at the last part. I didn't expect Kuroka to think that of me, especially given we haven't even properly met yet. But I guess it makes sense given what I know about her character and personality from the anime and Light Novels. Still, it was pretty embarrassing. Especially given how attractive Kuroka herself was. The anime didn't do her justice in comparison to seeing her in the flesh. She's a beautiful young woman with a voluptuous figure. It didn't help that she was wearing a revealing black kimono. Her breasts were huge! They easily rival Rias and Akeno in terms of size.

And her being a cat lady just made her even more attractive. I love cats. They are cute and fluffy.

Great, now I'm starting to think like Issei and his perverted friends.

"Hey there. I didn't expect anyone to come to this far away forest." I acknowledged her and tried to act calm and natural. But I was also on guard since technically at this point in time, she was considered an antagonist. I'm not sure what exactly her motives are right now so I gotta be careful.

"I sensed a large gathering of Nature Energy in this area. I just wanted to check it out. It's impressive for a human to harness Senjutsu, much less Sage Mode. Who taught you?" Kuroka asked with a curious gaze as she looked me up and down. I was pretty sure she was checking me out but I made no comment on it.

"No one. I taught myself." I replied honestly. Her eyes widened at my answer.

"You're self-taught?! How did you learn Senjutsu on your own? Humans usually have to learn it from sacred animals or Yokai." Kuroka asked. She probably wasn't used to seeing humans using Senjutsu since it's mostly used by Supernatural beings.

"Well, I meditate a lot. I read many texts about the subject and I've been training my spirit for a while. I've actually been trying to unlock Senjutsu for a while now. It is just today that I finally got it."

Kuroka nodded, "I see. You've also unlocked Sage Mode, albeit it being Imperfect. But for a beginner, your natural energy levels are off the charts. It rivals a Senjutsu Master." Kuroka then gained a mischievous smirk, "Hey, you mind if we spar? I want to test your abilities… for something."

I already had a feeling of what she was testing my power for. Promiscuous cat!

[QUEST ALERT!]

[Red Dragon Vs Black Cat: Defeat Kuroka in a spar]

[Difficulty: B Class]

[Rewards: 10,000 XP, increased reputation with Kuroka, a new mentor for Senjutsu, high chance of Kuroka wanting to be your mate, ?]

[Failure: Disappointment from Kuroka, lose possible chance of gaining a mentor at Senjutsu, missed opportunity of a relationship with Kuroka]

[Accept/Decline]

A spar, huh? Well it was a good way to test out all of my abilities and training, especially against someone who rivals an Ultimate-Class Devil in power. New mentor for Senjutsu? I can dig with that. Anything to propel my training and progression forward. I was confused about the whole "mate" thing but I did say I wasn't gonna pass up any opportunities, so I might as well just go for it.

I was currently at a higher level than Kuroka, and I had overall superior stats, so I was confident that I could beat her. I had to be careful though, because she's way more experienced in Senjutsu than me and might have a couple of techniques up her sleeve that may catch me off guard. I'm definitely the superior magician though. If I wanted to, I could just use my Fire Dragon Slaying Magic and end the battle pretty quickly. But I wanted to challenge myself. I needed to see how I can do against an Expert in Sage Arts when I just learned it. After all, a Game is no fun if it's too easy. And you know what they say. It's all about the Game and how you play it.

I accepted the quest, "Sure, I don't mind. I wanted to test my new powers anyway."

Kuroka smiled in victory, "Alright let me know when you're ready to start."

I did some warm up stretches to make sure I didn't cramp up. I was wearing a red tank top with white sweat pants while barefooted. The red flames were still ignited around my aura, letting me know I was still in Imperfect Sage Mode.

"Okay, I'm ready whenever you are." I got into a fighting stance, waiting for her to make her move.

She waited a few seconds before she attacked. She jumped towards me at high speeds, looks like she is gonna try to fight me hand to hand. Not very smart.

Her attacks may be fast for other people, but they weren't for me. I casually dodged all of her strikes. She was using her claws to strike me. I kept on dodging and deflecting each of her strikes. Being in Sage Mode even made it easier, thanks to the amp to my stats and my awareness.

"Why are you only dodging?" She asked as she jumped back.

"I'm just trying to get used to the increased perception and awareness that Sage Mode gives me. It is really handy. I feel so much lighter."

"Your Chi levels are crazy high. They are higher than even mine. But the question is if you can control it!"

Kuroka wrote kanji on the air and a magic circle appeared. Blue beams shot towards at high speed. I dodged the beams but then realized that they were still following me.

"Those blasts won't stop until they hit their target. So you can keep running all you want, Red but you'll be running for a while.

'Well then, I'm going to have to counterattack.' I stopped running, and allowed the beams to come to me. I then simply punched them and the physical force behind my punch was enough to obliterate them.

"What?!" Kuroka probably has never seen anyone destroy her attacks with their bare hands. She then summoned another magic circle, "DUPLICATION"

Duplicates of Kuroka appeared all around the battlefield. I knew they were all illusions though. I could tell which was the real Kuroka due to reading the flow of her spirit.

I stomped on the ground, creating a crater. I jumped to where the real Kuroka was and used the earth to throw her off balance.

"How did you know-"

"I just read the flow of your spirit. Sage Mode allows me to sense the energy of living things. Those illusions had no spirit." I replied nonchalantly as I waited for her to get back up.

She began to perform hand signs. I knew exactly what she was going to do.

"Oh no you don't!" I blitzed towards and grabbed her arm before she could finish the jutsu. She was about to create a barrier to trap me. I couldn't allow that to happen. If I did, I would have to use my Fire Magic to burn it down. Which would have made me lose the challenge I made for myself.

I punched her as lightly as he could. I wasn't comfortable with hitting women so I didn't put too much force behind it. Just enough to send her back.

"Ow…" Kuroka said as she groaned in pain.

"I'm sorry! Are you alright? I didn't mean to hurt you." I began scurrying where she landed.

She smirked and got back up like I never hit her at all, "KASHA!"

Kuroka summoned large wheels with black flames. They were imbued with the power of purification.

"These flames will not disappear until their target is completely burned. Let's see how you handle this one, Red!"

She blasted the flames towards me. "What a cheap shot. She waited until my guard was down… but,"

As the flames approached me, I opened my mouth and slurped them down. Kuroka gasped in shock.

"He's… He's eating them?"

I swallowed the flames. "That was some delicious fire if I do say so myself. You tricked me. Big mistake." Black flames appeared on my left hand. I summoned red Sage flames on my right and then charged towards Kuroka.

She quickly summoned sage energy blasts towards me but I easily burned them with my black and red fire. Right before my fist made contact with her cute face, I stopped. The shockwaves from my action was enough to summon winds that brought down trees and created craters around the forest.

She knew she was beat.

"Who… Who are you? How can someone have so much power?" She asked shakily. I think I might have scared her a bit. For all I know, I could be the strongest man she's ever fought until now. Which would be insane since she knows Vali, and that guy is a monster. Judging by her reaction to just my suppressed sage powers, it's impressive enough to the point where she questions how one man can have so much power. That is a nice boost to my ego.

"The name's Jeffrey Hyoudou. Let's just say that I've been training ever since I could walk."

[QUEST COMPLETED! RED DRAGON VS BLACK CAT]

I ignored the rewards screen. I powered down from Sage Mode back to my base form.

"Jeffrey, huh?" She then put on a seductive smile and grabbed my arm, putting it in between her tits, whether she knew it or not. She probably did.

"Hey, you are pretty damn talented. You wouldn't want a teacher to show you how to control your Chi and use it to its full potential, wouldn't you?" She was getting a little too close for comfort. Having such a babe be this close to you would make any red blooded male nervous. Thank God for Gamer's Mind, or I would've been a stuttering mess.

"Sure. You would really be my teacher?" I asked.

"Of course! And I might throw in even a couple extra lessons~" She licked the side of my face sexily. It took all of my willpower to not freak the fuck out. The girl just met me and she's already coming on to me and licking my face. How am I supposed to react? Is she that perverted?

"Oh, thank you."

"Hey you wouldn't happen to go to Kuoh Academy wouldn't you?" Kuroka asked with a hopeful glint in her eyes.

"Yeah, I'm going to start my second year soon. Why do you ask?"

"Well… would you do me a favor and check up on my sister Koneko every once and awhile? She's going to be starting her first year over there. She's small, has white hair and similar eyes to mine. She is a nekoshou, so you should easily be able to pick up on her chi."

I could see the worry in her eyes for her sister. She really does care for her.

[QUEST ALERT! PROTECT KONEKO!]

[Make sure that Koneko is safe and nothing happens to her. Once you accept the quest, a marker will appear on your mini map indicating where Koneko will be at all times. If it starts to go red, then that means she is in danger.]

[Difficulty: A Class]

[Rewards: 100,000 XP, a special "thank you" from Kuroka, increased relationship with Kuroka and Koneko, ?]

[Failure: Possible death of Koneko, decreased relationship with Kuroka, you won't get the special "thank you"]

[Accept/Decline]

I wondered what the "thank you" was but I figured that I would find out anyway. I clicked on Accept, "Yeah, I'll keep a lookout for her. I'll let you know if anything happens."

"Thank you so much!" Kuroka gave me a hug. Her boobs were squishing against my chest. She probably noticed that and kept on hugging me even harder.

"No problem."

"Well then I'll see you later. I'll make sure to give you your special "lessons" okay?"

She teleported away, leaving me alone in the forest.

"Oh God… What have I gotten myself into?

[KITTY MATE!]

"SHUT UP!"
