Here is the final chapter of Naruto's adventure through the multiverse. Naruto winds up on a strange earth that is very different from the others. How different? Well, this one houses a doppelganger of his or should he say, he's the doppelganger of. This one being the prime version. How will Naruto take to learning about the original version of himself where he wears just a kid who wears an orange jumpsuit? Enjoy!

Everything I grew up believing in was a lie. My parent's work, Dr. Wells, all of it was not at all what I thought to be. The day I was struck by lightning, it restarted my life and I protected my city with the help of my friends and partner, The Flash. Over the course of a year, I learned the truth about my parents and their work that got them killed. I avenged their death but the mastermind is still out there. Dr. Wells turned out to be the Reverse Flash, an evil Speedster from the future who came back in time to exact revenge against Barry but in the process, the people he hated ended up being his ultimate lifeline home. In his final act, Central City was nearly destroyed and, in an effort to save it, I was thrown into an alternate world and now was being chased by an evil black clad speedster, named Zoom. With no way back now, I will use my speed to help the people of Earth-2 and stop Zoom. My name is Impulse and this is my story.

Adventure through the multiverse: Finale

Naruto was running through the multiversal superhighway running from the Game of Thrones Earth of Earth-899 back to Earth-2. Given the Tachyon barrier surrounding his earth he couldn't force his way through so getting back to Earth-2 and figuring things out with his parents and Wells might give him a way for him and Ronnie to get through and get back home. Naruto focused and concentrated on Earth-2 as he ran through the blue-shifting tunnel of the multiverse. He had his katana strapped to his back and was still wearing his regular clothes over his Impulse suit as he didn't get the chance to put his suit back in his ring before he left but he might just keep it this way for now.

He got glimpses of other earths when he ran but none he recognized. Gideon was monitoring his path through the multiversal superhighway and used that corresponding data to update the multiversal map. With all that data, Gideon was getting a better picture of the larger multiverse and that helped her guide him as best she could.

"Keep running, Naruto and focus. Focus on where you want to go." She told him and he did. By Gideon's scans they had just passed Earth-400. Naruto wasn't quite sure what that world was because all he saw was deep space but he could have sworn he saw the Starship Enterprise.

"Home…" Naruto closed his eyes and felt his pulse slow down. He felt more in tune with his powers/the speed force and let his body guide him. His speed kicked up and he soon blitzed past earths 300 to 100 and went ever further down. That's when he opened his eyes and whether it was his heart, his mind, the speed force, or something else he kicked it into overdrive and created a special breach in the multiverse superhighway. A breach leading him to a very special place.

Earth Nu-Prime

This earth was very different compared to the other earths in the Multiverse. Unlike those that were given number designations, this one was given a Greek-alphabet designation. Why? Because it was a rare earth in the multiverse where a prime version of something or someone resided. All other versions in the multiverse that shared a similarity sprouted from this one. What prime version of earth was this one?

It was the home of Naruto-Prime.

In the Land of Fire resides one of the largest ninja villages out of the other nations. Konahagakure, or the Village Hidden in the Leaves was one of the largest and most powerful Shinobi villages in the world. Residing deep within the forest at the base of Hokage Mountain, the village enjoyed many years of peace and stability under the watchful protection of its Hokage and the shinobi. Land that was once plagued by an ancient Nine-tailed fox demon, the Fourth Hokage gave his life to seal it away and save his village. Ever since then the Fox has been sealed in someone and that someone was a 13-year old boy.

A blur portal flickered into existence and a blur rushed out before the portal quickly closed. The blur slid to a stop and it was Naruto. He was wearing his regular clothes over his Impulse suit with his pack on his back along with his Valyrian steel/Vibranium Reverse-Blade Katana. He took a few deep breaths before taking a look at his surroundings. He appeared to be in a very beautiful forest.

"Whoa. Gideon, where am I?" Naruto asked as Gideon's head appeared from his watch.

"You are on Earth Nu-Prime. An earth distinct from others in the multiverse as this is the one where the prime version of you resides." Gideon told him which made him do a double take.

"The prime version? You mean the version where all other versions of me come from?" Naruto asked.

"Yes. This world is vastly different than the other ones you've encountered. Here, humans are born with a natural occurring energy system in their body known as Charka and are able to use this energy in various ways. This world shares similarities to that of ancient Japan and is a world where Ninja are the primary force for peace keeping." Gideon told him.

"A ninja world? Awesome. How do you know this?" Naruto wondered.

"As the place where the prime version of yourself originates, your future-self made sure to document this world's location but never visited it." Gideon answered.

"I guess I am now, or will, whatever tense I need to use. I wonder what the prime version of me is like." Naruto wondered as he decided to do some walking. "Uh, Gideon…any idea on where I should go?"

"From what I can tell from my sensors, the village where your prime-self resides should be exactly 20 miles to your east." Gideon told him. "But before you travel I would like to advise a word of warning."

"Sure, what's wrong Gideon?" He wondered.

"Considering this is the world where the prime version of yourself resides, your future-self felt it would be best to have a more hands off approach when it came to interacting with your prime-self. Interacting with the other residents of this earth might not cause any significant change but too much interference in the path of your prime-self may alter his destiny." Gideon informed him.

"Oh, that makes sense. Did he…or I, whatever, are there rules?" Naruto asked, momentarily confusing his tenses since this was technically him. Or would be him.

"Your future-self noted that he wanted to avoid any kind of change to the path this earth and your prime-self would take. He noted to avoid any serious interference with local government and institutions along with avoiding the use of any kind of future tech to avoid questions and the developmental progress of this earth." Gideon told him.

"Right. Ok, like avoiding something that could kickstart the scientific age of this earth or doing what I did with Daenerys in the Game of Thrones earth. Makes sense. But wouldn't my super speed also be a red flag?" Naruto questioned.

"No, while your future-self never got around to visiting this earth he did do an in-depth analysis of it and its people. The charka they have in their bodies allows the shinobi of this earth to perform superhuman feats that could be seen as superpowers on other earths. Elemental manipulation, summoning of animals, and increasing physical attributes are among them so your super speed wouldn't draw serious attention." Gideon explained. "Your future-self also noted that any mention of the multiverse or being a doppelganger of this earth's Naruto should be avoided. This earth is still relatively simple in its understanding of science and the universe but worried that the use of charka in the wrong hands could open a pandora's box with that knowledge.

"Right, right…" Naruto nodded in agreement.

"In essence, I would avoid repeating your usual routine when you arrive on a new earth." Gideon put it bluntly which pretty much covered everything his future-self said not to do. Don't try and change things, don't do any scientific philanthropic work, avoid using his repulsor gauntlets, and don't mention he was from another universe. Simple. "Adopt an alias and act like a normal inhabitant of this earth but defend yourself if the situation arises.

"Got it. Thanks, Gideon." He deactivated her holographic interface and made sure his earbud was still in before super speeding towards the nearest village. If his prime version was there then he wanted to get a look at him. If not, then he could at least get something to eat before leaving.

When he neared the village he skid to a stop in the woods and walked out onto the main road where he joined the traffic of visitors and traders going in and out of the village. He followed them towards the main gate to the village and it was huge. Massive walls into what looked like less of a village and more like an ancient feudal city. He saw the visitors to the city needed to speak with the two ninja at the main gate. He was going to get in line and do the same but saw that they needed to check in with identification or some kind of papers in order to enter. That's where he was at a disadvantage as he didn't have anything that would let him pass so he needed to find another way to get in. The large clunk and clatter of boxes caught his attention and he saw a large ox-drawn wagon.

"That works too." He super sped over and got underneath the cart, holding onto the bars underneath so he was hidden by the big wheels.

The trader spoke with the ninja at the gates and after they checked the crates to confirm what he was bringing they let him through. The trader guided his wagon through the city until he reached the market. The second the wagon stopped Naruto rolled out from under the wagon and stood up in the middle of the street with none the wiser. The trader was talking with the market owner as Naruto walked past his cart and pet the oxen on the heads.

"Thanks, guys." He rubbed them on the head before he walked away. This gave him his first look at the village he was in and it was awesome. Food stands and stores lined the street as children played and adults carried on with their business. "Cool! This is like something out of an Akira Kurosawa film!"

Everyone on the street gave odd glances at the stranger walking through their village. He clearly wasn't from the village given how he was dressed and by the katana on his back you'd think he might be a traveling samurai but he wasn't dressed like one. And the odd part was that he looked familiar.

"Is that the 9-tailed brat?"

"No, he's too old."

"Is it the Fourth Hokage?"

"Don't be ridiculous, he's been dead for years."

"Then who the hell is he?""

Naruto looked at the people whispering at him with odd looks.

"Can I help you all with something?" He asked and they quickly got back to their business. Naruto continued walking through the village and taking in the sights. He saw markets and stores, a flower shop, a store that sold medicine, another that sold weapons and then he passed a large compound with dogs. The reason he knew? The smell and the barking. He was enjoying his walk through the village when he got a whiff of something delicious and it was a dumpling stand. Naruto walked over to see a married couple cooking both fried and steamed dumplings for people.

"Mmmm, they smell delicious." Naruto's mouth started to water in the traditional anime style which is when he noticed it so he wiped the drool away. "That's weird."

"How can I help you, young man?" the husband asked.

"Hmm, can I get 200 dumplings?" Naruto ordered.

"200? Are you sure you can afford that?"

"Afford it? Can you eat much?" The wife wondered earning a chuckle from Naruto.

"I have a fast metabolism. As for paying…" Naruto opened his pack and pulled out a gold coin from one of the pouches. "Will this cover it?"

Naruto flicked the coin in the air and the husband caught it to see it was actual gold and worth way more than the dumplings. The wife saw it too and both were frozen in shock. "If that will cover it, can I get 200 dumplings? Half fried and the other half steamed." Naruto ordered.

"200 dumplings coming right up!" The Husband shouted in glee as he and his wife got to work. "We are running a special on a spicy chili oil."

"Sounds good to me." Naruto smiled and the married couple cooked up his order.

After some time, Naruto walked away with his arms full of dumpling baskets. The husband and wife smiled at a profitable day. They made more today than they had in years. "Thank you, come again!" The husband and wife shouted.

"Thank you!" Naruto shouted back, walking away with all the food to find someplace he could sit down and eat. He eventually found himself a nice park bench to sit down and scarfed down the 200 dumplings with ease. This may not be his universe but those dumplings are some of the bests he's had in years. This prime earth is pretty good so far.

"Ahhh…that hit the spot." Naruto pat himself on the stomach, having just polished off all that food with ease. He sat down for a little longer and took his bottle out of his bag to drink some water before he put all the empty containers in the trash and continued exploring the village. The place was massive but he eventually found what looked like a library so he walked in to do some reading and research. A map and some history books gave him some general knowledge of the world he was on which he combined with the knowledge Gideon had from his future-self.

The most interesting thing he was learning about was chakra. A form of life energy native to the people of this earth in the multiverse. It shared a lot of similarities to the concept of ki or chi on his earth and he was sure he saw an earth that looked like Dragon Ball Z when he was running through the multiverse. Produced in something known as charka coils within the body similar to nerve pathways that surrounded each charka-producing organ spiritual and physical energy is molded together and circulated through the Charka Pathway System and then could be harnessed. Everyone on the planet had Charka with some having more or less then others depending on genetics and training. The ninja of this world were trained on how to harness charka for their duties. The concept was intriguing as the possibilities were limitless but sort of out of reach for Naruto. Gideon informed him that his body didn't have the Charka coils or Charka Pathway System that the people of this earth had so that was a disappointment. Then again he had the speed force, hand-to-hand combat training, advanced technology, and a superhero suit so it was a wash.

After his research he walked out of the library when he felt the ground rumbling and heard what sounded like a stampede. He looked to his right and went wide-eyed as he saw a literal bull stampede chasing after a kid in an orange jumpsuit and they were closing in fast.

"Oh, shit!" Naruto backed up into the library and got a good look at the kid in front. His super speed let him see what was happening and to his shock he saw his prime-self. He was a kid on this earth, at least at this point in time. Not much older then say 13. He had on blue sandals, a thigh holster, a blue headband with a silver headpiece and an orange and blue jumpsuit. And he was running for his life as the bulls chased after him.

"UGH! WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?!" Kid Naruto shouted, running in terror from the bulls chasing after him through the village. Everyone else on the street rushed inside or for cover as kid Naruto and the bulls made their way through the city. "SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!"

Naruto saw his prime-self make a hand seal and two dozen copies of himself appeared, running alongside him. "All right guys, scatter all these stampeding bulls for me!"

"YEAH!"

The copies and real Naruto split up at an intersection with a section of the stampede following them. Naruto walked out of the library to see them running away. "Ok, that was weird. Not the bulls but the jumpsuit. I had one just like that as a kid. God. Glad I outgrew that." Naruto muttered before he flickered with lightning and super sped after his prime-self, just to make sure he didn't get himself killed.

He watched in amusement seeing Prime-Naruto's plan to split up didn't work as the bull in charge called on more bulls to add onto the ever growing stampede. Naruto and his clones ran like hell to some kind of stadium in the distance. There were two shinobi standing guard at the stadium and they saw the large mob of Naruto's rushing them.

"What's that? Naruto Uzumaki?"

"It's up to you guys now!" Kid Naruto shouted as he and his clones ended up jampacked at the door. They pushed, shoved, and argued in order to get through which gave the lead bull enough time to charge. "AHH!"

Prime Naruto got hit so hard he flew through the gate and skid to a stop in the middle of the arena. Speedster Naruto saw bulls run over the Naruto clones and they turned into smoke but they kept running and tried to keep charging but got stuck. The two shinobi by the gate were knocked out so Naruto unsheathed his katana and super sped forward. Several blurs of lightning later and all the bulls were on the ground groaning in pain as Naruto sheathed his katana. He just gave them some love taps on the head to stop.

The lead bull got back to his feet, let out some angry snorts and was ready to charge only for Naruto to flicker with lightning. The sudden display caused it to cower in fear and settle down. Once he saw it wasn't going to charge he stopped his little lightning display and walked over to give it an affectionate pat on the head. "Sorry about that but it's over now. Not sure why you were chasing the kid but knowing him…or me at that age, I likely had it coming." Naruto admitted. "Now, go home."

The bulls mooed and proceeded to leave the area one by one. He looked around and saw the two Shinobi by the gate of the arena were splayed out on the ground, unconscious but beginning to wake up. Realizing this was his chance he walked past them and into the arena. His prime-self was heading inside so he wanted to see what was going on. After walking up four flights of stairs he walked into the arena seating area but seeing no seats available and deciding to stay out of sight, he stayed by the doorway. It still gave him a good view of what was going on. He saw seven kids in the arena or on this earth, Shinobi with an older Shinobi there, likely the proctor or official. He saw someone sitting in a special area so he put on his goggles and activated the zoom function to get a better look and it was the Hokage of the village. Basically, the leader and strongest shinobi of the village. He was old but that couldn't mean much on this earth. With age came wisdom, maturity, and expertise in skill. He was then joined by the Sand village's Kazekage and stood up to address everyone.

"Welcome all, and our deepest thanks for coming here to the Village Hidden in the Leaves for this year's Chunin Selection. We have come to the final competition between the eight candidates who made it through the preliminaries. We ask that no leaves until all the matches have been completed. Now, everyone enjoy!" The Hokage announced and there was some cheering and clapping in response.

"I think I can slip out and make sure no one notices that." Naruto thought to himself as he used his goggles to get a better look at the kids taking part in the Chunin exams. His prime-self was there and he also saw the prime version of his friend Shikamaru. Seeing him that young was kind of amusing and he wondered if this Shikamaru had the same attitude and personality and his did. His Shikamaru was one of his best college friends and he was super smart. Not Naruto's speedster/metahuman smart but normal human super smart with an IQ in the 200s. Winner of numerous chess and Shogi championships, Shikamaru was smart but just lazy. If you asked someone to give you the dictionary definition of lazy it would probably have a picture of Shikamaru laying on the ground while he was cloud watching. He finds many things in life as annoying or in his words, troublesome which he often reference to Naruto but he was a good friend and when motivated or pushed he was someone dependable. It also helped that he could outthink someone in seconds. Still, Shikamaru used his intelligence in good ways and the last he heard he had joined the FBI. "I should catch up with Shikamaru and the others when I get back. It's been long enough."

He also recognized Shino in the group, another of his college friends. Quiet and kept to himself but a dependable friend and when you get a few beers in him a real life of the party but normally very reserved which was just how he was. He did have a fascination with bugs and the last he heard Shino was in the process of getting his doctorate in Entomology. That's when he saw Temari, Kankuro, and Gaara. They were obviously much younger then the versions he knew but there was something off with them. This prime-Gaara seemed emotionally dead inside and looked like he was going to snap and kill someone.

"Oh, Gaara. What happened to you here…" He muttered when he saw five of the contestants leave until it was just Prime-Naruto against the Prime-Neji. His prime version against the prime version of the cousin of his college sweetheart who punched him in the face when things between him and Hinata didn't work out.

"Hey, Hinata, look, these seats are free."

"Oh, thanks."

"I think this is gonna be an interesting match."

He heard and saw the prime versions of Kiba and Hinata sit down in the front row. That's two more of his college friends here. One was his former college sweetheart and the other was the guy she ended up getting together with after college. So weird.

"Hey, Sakura. I know that you're worried about Sasuke but come on. Don't be such a lump. Aren't you going to at least cheer Naruto on?"

"You're right."

"That's more like it. Not that the poor runt has a hope in hell against Neji."

"He's not that bad."

"Are you kidding? Not that bad? Is that the best you can do?"

He turned his heard and saw the prime versions of Sakura and Ino as well. A full on college reunion. Sort of. And Ino did say Sasuke and knowing what his version was like then the prime version had to be the same condescending, brooding, emo jackass that he couldn't stand. He always did wonder what happened to him though. He disappeared their junior year and no one has heard anything from him.

"Who would have believed that little squirt would survive this long?"

"Yeah. He's been one lucky kid so far, but his luck's about to run out. He'll never survive this one."

"Yeah, it's going to be painful. Going up against one of the Hyuga clan, he doesn't have a chance."

Naruto looked down at the field at his prime self. Clearly he was the underdog in this matchup and Neji was a prodigy. Everyone seemed to think that Naruto couldn't win but if his prime-self was where the rest of the other Narutos came from and his personality was anything like his own then he wouldn't let that stop him and he definitely wouldn't give up without a fight.

"You got this, kid." Naruto muttered as he saw his prime version raise his fist up and aim it at Neji.

"Are we gonna stand here talking all day?! Let's get going! Show me what you got!" Kid Naruto shouted as the wind kicked up.

"All right, let the first match begin!" The proctor shouted.

Prime Naruto started off by throwing three kunai before charging straight at Neji.

"You idiot! A frontal attack will never work!" Kiba shouted but he was undeterred.

Neji parried his punch with ease and pushed him aside but kid Naruto just continued his attack. He was full fury with a barrage of punches and then a kick which was knocked aside but he rebounded and came at Neji with a flying kick. He went in with a flying punch but Neji got in his guard and hit him with a palm strike to the chest. There was a visible dispersion of blue energy, which he could only guess was Charka, when Neji went in for a straight strike at kid Naruto's right shoulder but missed as he rolled away.

Naruto watched with intrigue as his goggles were analyzing the fight and it was picking up a unique energy signature coming from Neji. His eyes were opaque and the veins around the eyelids were engorged but for a reason. Based on Gideon's scans she predicted that Neji's eyes were able to see the flow of Charka in kid Naruto's body and that dispersion of blue energy was a chakra strike. Naruto remembered reading in the library that the Hyuga clan were renown for a unique Kekkei Genkai or a unique bloodline genetic trait only pertaining to chakra or a Jutsu. Whatever that eye thing was must have been it.

"Do you understand now? You have no way of beating me." Neji boasted.

"Heh. Get real. I was just checking you out, that's all!" Kid Naruto smirked before getting back to his feet. "Ok, now that we're warmed up, we can get started."

Naruto chuckled hearing his boasting and confidence. "That was definitely me at that age." He admitted when he saw Kid Naruto cross his fingers into a hand seal.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

In puffs of smoke, four identical clones of kid Naruto appeared around him. They all were holding kunai and were ready to fight.

"Hey! Don't ever—"

"Don't ever—"

"I mean ever—"

"COUNT ME OUT!"

The four clones charged and engaged Neji in hand to hand combat. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Neji evaded and dodged all their attacks with ease. He spun through the air to kick and elbow two clones before easily blocking two clones rear guard attacks and then landed two charka palm strikes against them. It was like he had eyes in the back of his head. Clearly those eyes weren't the way they were for just looks.

There seemed to be more talking between the two before kid Naruto summoned more clones and they attacked Neji. Kid Naruto attacked with full fury and passion while Neji was stoic and more precise. Quite the contrast of styles. Kid Naruto had some hand-to-hand combat training but his style of attacks was more raw. Neji was much more precise and his fighting showed clear signs of intense dedication and training. He took down clone after clone without letting any of them getting close to him. Neji then ran past all of them and attacked the one at the back with a straight jab to the heart, thinking it was the real one. Some of the clones dissipated into smoke including the one Neji just struck indicating he had been duped. The real kid Naruto and a clone charged at him from behind while he was distracted and punched him in the face only for a chakra barrier to stop the attack. Neji then spun around in a circle and a large dome of Chakra surrounded his body, creating a barrier of energy that knocked kid Naruto and the clone back.

"Interesting…" Naruto muttered, seeing the Chakra had provided a complete 360 degree dome of protection around Neji and even carved out the ground Neji was standing on. Naruto's goggles had recorded the entire thing and was analyzing the process. Kid Naruto summoned more clones and attacked again only for Neji to implement the same defense. It knocked them all back with ease. Gideon brought up some analytics on what just happened. Based on what she was able to scan it seems as though Neji discharges an intense focused burst of charka from the charka points in his body. Then by rotating his body quickly, he builds up enough energy to create that 360 degree barrier. It's quite simple on paper but it's often the simplest of ideas that provide the greatest reward. That 360 degree barrier of Charka was the perfect defense and combine that with the apparent benefits of the ocular Kekkei Genkai then Neji was dangerous. Naruto began thinking up his own modified way he could use the technique with his speed or the speed force.

That's when Neji assumed a unique stance and began striking kid Naruto all over the body with chakra strikes, likely targeting his charka points. He was moving with incredible speed, granted nothing compared to his speed but clearly he was someone dangerous. Naruto's goggles analyzed what happened and Neji struck the chakra points in Kid Naruto's body, cutting off the charka flow. The fact that he was still conscious was impressive. Neji seemed to be saying something to kid Naruto, likely boasting about his victory.

"Come on, kid. Get up." Naruto urged him on. Everyone seemed to think the fight was over but to their amazement kid Naruto got back to his feet. Neji removed his headband to show a weird marking on his forehead and seemed to explain something along with saying that he had won. He put his headband back on and walked away.

"Wait!" Kid Naruto stood up and held his chest in pain. His breathing was labored and he was bruised all over but still standing. "Don't you walk away from me. I'm not done yet. I don't quit, and I don't go back on my word. That's my nindo, my ninja way."

"Ha. I've heard those words before." Neji remarked.

"All this destiny crap. Well, if you really believe it then why are you the one walking away!" Naruto told him off.

"You impudent little brat! Why waste my breath explain it to you? We are all given a destiny at birth, and it's pointless to fight against it. You don't know what it's like to be branded with a mark that sets you apart, a mark that can never be wiped away!" Neji shouted in anger but Kid Naruto just looked him in the eyes.

"Oh, yeah. I know what that's like. Well, big deal! Who cares?! Man, you think you got troubles? I've got news for you, Neji, you're not the only special one around here. Did you ever think that Hinata might be suffering as much as you are? It's not her fault that her father was born ahead of yours, but you resent her for it. You disrespect her even when she's trying so hard to improve herself. All she wanted was your respect. That's what she was fighting for even though it almost killed her. And what was that all about, anyway? I thought it was your destiny to serve the main household, not to beat it to a bloody pulp! After all you said about how you can't fight your destiny, you don't really believe in it either, do you?" Kid Naruto let out some heavy coughs. "I'm gonna show you your wrong about a lot of things, starting right now!"

Kid Naruto took a moment to himself before making a hand sign and trying to summon chakra. Everyone seemed to think it was futile and Naruto was wondering what his prime self was doing. He would need a miracle to pull this kind of win off. That's when he felt it.

"Why fight a hopeless battle trying to defy your destiny?" Neji asked in amusement.

"Because people called me a failure. I'll prove them wrong! HAAAA!"

A sudden feeling of dread, the heavy presence in the air, and the hair on the back of his neck sticking up. Naruto could feel goosebumps on his arms and a shiver run down his spine that seemed to come out of nowhere. The reason for that? His prime version just pulled out his trump card. Kid Naruto kept shouting and summoned Chakra from somewhere and it was powerful. Pebbles floated around his body and the wind kicked up before red spirals of pure energy surrounded his body, healing his injuries at an incredible rate.

"What the hell…" Naruto zoomed in with his goggles and they tried to analyze to see what was going on. "Gideon, what's going on?"

"I don't know but I'm suddenly picking up an immense amount of energy coming from Prime-Naruto. It appears to be coming deep within his body." She informed him.

Naruto watched as his scans showed a literal tidal wave of red charka energy flood kid Naruto's body like an inferno. Soon enough the red chakra energy swirled together and whether it was his imagination or not, it formed into the image of a snarling, menacing, monstrous red fox.

"Geez!" Naruto removed his goggles out of reflex of something so terrifying popping into his view so quickly. He and the entire arena could feel the intense power kid Naruto was producing and watched in stunned silence.

The red spirals of charka energy kicked up a lot of dirt and wind like a hurricane and surrounded kid Naruto before it was absorbed into body and gave him a red chakra aura. Kid Naruto clenched his fist and disappeared in a blur of speed. Everyone lost sight of him but Naruto didn't, seeing his speed had just increased tremendously he was able to see him move to the flank. He threw out some shuriken and Neji used his rotation before throwing some Shuriken at him but kid Naruto evaded them with his new speed and attacked. They threw kunai at each other and then clashed in the air before kid Naruto charged. His feet tore up the ground and he was radiating a powerful aura.

"It may be the Hyuga way to cave in to destiny! It's not mine! If you think it's futile to fight, then don't! Just stand there and take it! I'll change the way of the Hyuga clan…after I become Hokage!"

Kid Naruto and Neji clashed with their combing charka forces making a huge explosion of dirt, smoke and literally shaking the arena. When the smoke cleared, two impact craters were seen with smoke bellowing from the ground. Neji crawled out first, albeit with a struggle and got to his feet. He walked over and everyone could see Naruto in his impact crater, unmoving and unconscious.

"Sorry, but this is reality. You're a failure. This match is over." Neji stated when the ground in front of him crumbled as something came out.

"RAHH!"

Kid Naruto shot out of the ground like a torpedo and nailed Neji in the chin with an uppercut that knocked him into the air and back twenty feet. Neji couldn't move and Kid Naruto was breathing heavily. The Naruto in the crater turned into smoke to reveal a hole that was dug into the ground.

"He used the clone as bait and waited for Neji to get close. Even when he was getting his ass kicked he never stopped fighting, never lost his faith in himself. Guess that's something we both share because we both aren't content with following the path destiny has laid out for us." Naruto thought and he couldn't help but smile. This kid really was his prime version. If this was just him as a kid then he knew he'd be a force to be reckoned with when he got older.

"The winner is Naruto Uzumaki!" The Proctor announced and the arena erupted into cheers and applause. Kid Naruto ate it all up and despite the intense fight still had the energy for his adoring crowd.

Naruto smiled and clapped along with everyone else. He saw now what made this the Prime version of all other Naruto's out there. No matter what happened or how difficult things got, you never give up. No matter what any tells you, you keep fighting and you have the power to change destiny. "Way to go, Naruto."

Some medics came to take Neji away for treatment and kid Naruto joined the other shinobi while the next match was prepared. Naruto watched him speak with Shikamaru and there was still chatter about his match in the crowd of spectators. That's when Naruto realized that there would be a slight problem and that was based on the fact that he looked exactly like his prime version. He was older for sure but they shared too much of a resemblance and he knew it would draw a lot of unwanted attention. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but considering this was a village of shinobi then it could cause some undo alarm and questioning regarding who he was and he couldn't risk that. It was time to get a disguise.

He super sped away and ran into the village to find the things he would need. It took a bit of searching and running through the entire village since he had no idea what was where but he eventually stopped by the river. No one was around but if someone was they would have seen Naruto moving around at super speed at the river, well more accurately his head at the very least. When he stopped he dunked his head in the river and when he picked it back up he became a speeding blur before dunking his head back down under the river only this time there was some kind of black residue that washed away. He picked up his head and shook it at super speed, drying it off in seconds before he applied some kind of gel to his hair and some kind of cream to his face. When he finished he looked down at the water to get a good look at himself.

Despite the fact that the water was reflective and he knew he was looking at a reflection of himself, Naruto couldn't help but do a double take. His normally spikey light blonde hair had been straightened, combed down, and was dyed black. Not only that but his whisker birthmarks were gone. He really looked like a different person which again was the whole point but it was kind of jarring. (1)

"Geez…" He turned his head to make sure that his hair was covered and that nothing was wrong with his appearance. "If Linda and the others could see me now they'd say how funny I look."

"I think you look rather nice." Gideon told him.

"This is one time I have to disagree with you Gideon but thanks for the compliment." He replied. Naruto wasn't exactly fashion conscious by any means but he had developed a decent enough style for himself. There was one thing he never really changed and that was his hairstyle. There was once when he was a kid but that was his parents and they cut it short. Suffice to say he looked like crap and kept his hair spikey after that. He wouldn't be doing this again unless he needed to hide his identity but hopefully in those circumstances a mask would be enough. He cleaned up and super sped back to the stadium.

Arriving in the same spot he was before he saw the fight between Temari and Shikamaru or at least the end of it. Shikamaru and Temari stood across from one another with a shadow connecting the two of them. That was weird and Naruto was curious but then saw the two walk over by the proctor when both raised their hands. That's when Shikamaru made the decision and forfeit the match.

"Ugh, man. I'm beat." Shikamaru muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. Naruto could hear many people in the crowd commenting how Shikamaru may have decided to forfeit but his ingenuity, tactical awareness and creative thinking during the match was vastly superior then a ninja his age.

"Old reliable, Shikamaru. Smart and dependable but lazy as can be." Naruto muttered but judging by what he was hearing from the people in the crowd, the more experienced anyway, could see that Shikamaru had some really good traits they liked. Suffice to say his prime-self had a different reaction and actually jumped over the railing from the observation deck to confront him. "And that's probably what I would do that that age."

With the match over there was now a lot of chatter for the next match between Sasuke Uchiha and Gaara. From the bits and pieces of the conversations he could pick up, clearly people were anxious to see Sasuke fight. Something about being the last member of the Uchiha clan and coming miles to see him fight. Naruto was able to look up a little history at the library and the Uchiha clan was a very infamous clan. It had a long history in Konoha and had an Kekkei Genkai like the Hyuga clan called the Sharigan. And Sasuke was the only Uchiha left alive so the anticipation to see him fight was high. His Sasuke was similar in that his family was pretty well known in certain circles, mostly militarily speaking. His family owned a huge private military company and Sasuke was heir apparent after his older brother Itachi died years ago in a car crash/explosion. It was amusing how the multiverse twisted histories and people so they could be similar yet different.

There was going to be a ten minute reprieve before the next match and if Sasuke didn't arrive at that time then he'd be disqualified. People were anxious and Naruto was surprised that the proctor didn't just disqualify him immediately. Showing up late to this kind of thing seems like an automatic disqualification. Guess being infamous had its benefits. Eventually the ten minutes were up so the proctor raised his hand and spoke up. "All right, the time limit has expired. So, I'm officially calling this match…"

A small twister of leaves appeared in the middle of the arena and when it dissipated two figures appeared. One was older with spikey white hair and his leaf headband covering his left eye and a face mask covering his nose and mouth while the other was younger with black hair, wearing all black, and looking every bit the emo kid.

"Sorry, we're late. You wouldn't believe the traffic." The man said with a smirk.

"And you are?" The Proctor asked.

"I'm Sasuke Uchiha." Sasuke introduced himself.

The crowd erupted into cheers at their arrival while Naruto was the only one who didn't do anything. He was leaning against wall and kind of having Déjà vu when he saw Sasuke appear, looking exactly like he remembered in college if only younger. Looking the same moody, brooding, jackass with a huge superiority complex masking familial problems and tension. He also recognized the man with Sasuke. It was Kakashi Hatake or more accurately his prime version. Kakashi was former US Marine staff sergeant/military engineer who actually worked at STAR labs for a while. He remembered seeing him or hanging around with his dad when he was growing up. His dad was like a mentor to Kakashi, fostered his talents and when a good opportunity at DARPA presented itself to him, he told Kakashi to take it. He hadn't seen him since but heard he was doing well.

Kid-Naruto and Shikamaru went back into the stands and joined Kakashi with the others as the match began. Gaara's look of bloodlust really concerned him. He had a hard time reconciling the fact that his best friend's prime doppelganger could look so menacing. It reminded him of the time when he was under Orochimaru's control. Which reminded him that if he met this world's Orochimaru then he'd give him a Mach punch to the face. He saw Gaara grab his head in pain as sand began to float out of the gourd on his back. Guess this Earth-Prime's chakra abilities shared some similarities to that of his earth's metahuman abilities.

Gaara eventually seemed to calm down as Sasuke threw two shuriken only for the sand to protect him. Said sand then morphed into a copy of him, becoming a sand clone before exploding towards Sasuke. Sasuke jumped and the two exchanged kunai before he got close with some close combat. He threw out a straight punch to Gaara's face only for the sand to block him. That's when Sasuke vanished at incredible speed and reappeared right behind Gaara to deliver a straight punch.

"Impressive speed…" Naruto admitted. Unlike everyone else in the arena, he was able to see Sasuke moving as clear as day. He was indeed moving incredibly fast but Naruto's eyes and brain was still able to pick up his speed and he estimated that Sasuke had to be moving close to several hundred miles per hours, likely using his chakra to assist him. To Naruto that was his early starting phase speed considering how much faster he's gotten but he had the Speed Force. He watched Gaara get up with some cracks in his face, wearing some kind of subdermal armor as his sand came up to protect him while Sasuke continued attacking. He used his speed to slip through his defenses and kick him in the chest. Sasuke then began racing around Gaara in a circle to look for an opening before getting in close and landing a knee to his gut. Gaara and Sasuke were both panting heavily from the little exchange. Gaara from the beating and Sasuke from all the stamina he used. "But speed's only as good so long as you got the stamina and endurance for it."

Gaara placed his hands together and his sand formed a large dome around his body. Sasuke tried to rush him to stop the sand shield from closing but was too late. He punched the sand shield but his fist didn't break through. The sane shield layered over one another and increased the density so it was like stone, keeping Gaara perfectly protected. A sand eye formed over the dome to keep watch over Sasuke as he thought of his next move. Naruto wondered what was going on when he heard his prime-self try to reason with Kakashi that Gaara was dangerous and Sasuke was gonna die. That drew his attention when he looked over and saw that Kankuro and Temari had looks of extreme fear and worry which was odd. Gaara was protected but it looked to them like something bad was gonna happen.

"Something doesn't feel right…" Naruto admitted as Sasuke tried attacking the sand shield to break through. He used his Sharigan to try and find an opening but every time he got close sand spikes would appear to keep him back. Sasuke didn't seem so worried as he undid the buckles on his left arm and jumped onto the arena walls for some distance and height. He made several hand signs before he clenched his left hand with his right and concentrated. That's when he saw electricity spark from Sasuke's left hand. "Now that is something I can get onboard with."

He put on his goggles and had Gideon monitor Sasuke as he took off running down the side of the arena with his left hand literally holding a concentrated collection of electricity. As he was running, his lightning made a sound that was similar to birds chirping. Gideon analyzed the energy and whatever Sasuke was doing, he was moving at extreme speed and gathering a high concentration of lighting to his hand. The high concentration of the electricity was producing the sound reminiscent of birds chirping. Moving at high speed with lightning in your hand was dangerous and lethal.

"CHIDORI!" Sasuke shouted, punching through Gaara's sand shield with his lightning hand and actually piercing through it.

"Now that is something I'm totally stealing." Naruto admitted to himself, seeing the entire arena went quiet in anticipation.

"AHH! BLOOD! IT'S MY BLOOD!" Gaara screamed out in bloody murder mixed with fear as Sasuke grunted in pain. He charged his Chidori once more and the lightning burst allowed him to free his hand from whatever was holding it. He jumped back and some kind of monstrous sand arm came with him.

"What the hell is that?" Naruto asked in astonishment as he saw Sasuke hold his arm in pain. Whatever sand arm Gaara made retracted back into the shield and something inside made Sasuke freeze in total fear and he wasn't the only one. The hair on the back of Naruto's neck stood up and he began to get goosebumps just like when kid Naruto summoned that red charka. The sand shield dissipated around Gaara and he was seen clutching his left arm with it bleeding at the shoulder. He was wheezing with a very disturbed and troubled looked on his face.

"Naruto, I'm detecting an odd energy signature surrounding the arena." Gideon warned him when Naruto noticed a feather drop down in front of him. He looked around and saw feathers dropping all over the area as people in the arena began to fall asleep one by one.

"Gideon, what's going on?" Naruto asked her.

"I'm not sure but I'm detecting an unknown energy signature that is putting the people in the arena into an induced state. It's likely a chakra technique. I believe we've stumbled onto an attack on the home village of your prime self." Gideon hinted when there was an explosion at the private viewing box of the Hokage and Kazekage.

"I knew something didn't feel right. We just got ourselves into the middle of a fight." Naruto muttered, cracking his neck and his knuckles. He wasn't supposed to fight or interfere but he couldn't just step aside as the home village of his prime-self was attacked. "Gideon, I'm aware of your rules and warnings my future-self gave you but I think I'm about to break one of them."

"I figured. Just remember to be discreet and avoid using your advanced tech." Gideon warned him.

"Got it." Naruto then vanished from his spot at super speed.

"Lord Hokage!" Might Guy and Kakashi rushed over to help him when several Anbu Black Ops Shinobi rushed past them.

"Leave it to me!" The Anbu Black Ops rushed over but the Hokage was taken captive by the Kazekage and trapped inside some kind of barrier they couldn't get past.

"That's a barrier Ninjutsu." Might Guy said.

"They outwitted the Anbu Black ups and the Anbu are supposed to be the best." Kakashi pointed out as he and Guy rushed down the stairs when a solo Anbu Black Ops Shinobi got in their way.

"Why are you here? Lord Hokage's in danger!" Guy reminded him as he just made a hand sign. Then several disguised civilians in the arena leapt over to the Anbu Black Op Shinobi, revealing that they were Shinobi from the Hidden Sound Village.

"What a nuisance." Kakashi spat out.

"An enemy masquerading as an Anbu Black Ops. So, he's the one who did the Genjutsu." Guy said.

"Yes, there's no mistake." Kakashi said when he saw Sasuke chase after Gaara and his siblings while their sensei Baki held off the Chunin exam's proctor. "Sasuke, what are you doing?"

"We've been careless." Guy said when he spotted something in the barrier. "Kakashi, look! In the barrier!"

Kakashi looked over and recognized the man holding the Hokage hostage. "Orochimaru." He said in anger. Two of the Sound Ninja jumped into the air to attack Sakura but Kakashi got in their way and killed them both with some kunai. "Sakura, just stay there while I trim the enemies numbers down to size.

Some more Konoha Shinobi arrived to help fight against the Sound and Sand Ninja. At first, things seemed pretty even until more Sand and Sound Ninja arrived to help. Guy blocked and parried the strikes from a Sound Shinobi before punching him in the gut and then elbowing him in the head while Kakashi disarmed another and slashed him across the neck.

"Nicely done but I'm worried about Lord Hokage." Guy said to Kakashi.

"Leave that to the Anbu Black Ops. We have to enough to handle here. Besides, Lord Hokage isn't just some pushover, you know." Kakashi assured him.

"Yeah, but…"

"Just remember, Guy. He is the Hokage. He can handle it." Kakashi reminded him when two Sound Ninja jumped at him. He readied his kunai when he saw a flicker of lightning race by. To his amazement, it wasn't a Jutsu but actually a man running with the lightning covering him and flickering around his body like he generated it. The man moved at incredible speed and punched both Sound Ninja across the face before throwing them into a wall. He then ran past Kakashi and over to Guy, throwing out a punch that sent one Sound Ninja flying out of the arena and into the field below. He turned and hook kicked the second in the face before spinning into a leg sweep which tripped up the third and then finished him off with an elbow drop to the face. Guy jumped and landed a triple spin kick on three more Sound Ninja when a fourth tried to rush him from the side only for Naruto to race over and throw out a front kick to the stomach that send him crashing into a wall.

"Sorry for barging in but it looked like you guys could use some help." Naruto said, sidestepping a kunai cut from a Sound Ninja and trapping his arm before elbowing him in the nose, kneeing him in the gut and then breaking his arm at the elbow. The ninja screamed in pain only for Naruto to then throw him into Guy who landed an uppercut that knocked him into the ceiling. Guy then grabbed the leg of a leaping sound Ninja and threw him forward into the path of Naruto who landed a side kick right to his neck.

"Who are you?" Guy asked him as the two got side by side. He was glad for the assistance and seeing the stranger handle several Sound Ninja was a good sign but he had never seen him before and right now in the middle of an attack was the worst timing.

"Traveling mercenary Menma Hideo at your service." Naruto gave him a subtle nod, taking inspiration for the name from a manga he read on his earth. "Uniquely gifted former ninja and swordsman at your service."

"Mercenary, huh?" Guy asked as he blocked the attacks from a Sound Ninja before knocking him back with a jumping spinning back kick.

"Yeah…" Naruto ducked and dodged the kunai strikes from two Sound Ninja with ease as he back pedaled. He grabbed the arm of one of the ninja and moved him into the path of a kunai cut from the second. Naruto then elbowed him in the back of the neck, knocking him out before tossed the body as a distraction at the second ninja. He was pushed back from the weight allowing Naruto to take him out with a flying elbow strike to the face. "Came for the Chunin exams but once everything went to crap I decided to help. I've got a code and I'm not exactly a fan of these morons. Sneak attacking a village like this is not something I'm ok with."

"Right…" Guy kicked another sound ninja in the stomach and backflipped through the air as Naruto then ran forward and punched the ninja in the face for good measure.

"I know the circumstances are less then ideal so how about we deal with them and talk after?" Naruto suggested as the two got back to back.

"Sounds good to me. So long as you can keep up." Guy said when three sound ninja threw shurikens at them. Guy prepared to dodge but Naruto just got in the way and snatched them out of the air in the blink of an eye before throwing them back. The three sound ninja were hit the arms and legs and fell to the ground.

"That I can do. On your left!" Naruto shouted as he sidestepped a kunai stab to the back of the head and threw his attacker to the ground.

"Got it!" Guy rushed forward and punched a Sound Ninja who tried to attack kid Naruto straight into a wall.

"So…fast…" The ninja uttered out.

"Not just fast but powerful." Guy followed through with the rest of his punch and actually sent the ninja through the wall which made an exit. Kakashi then jumped down next to kid Naruto, Sakura, and Shikamaru.

"Now, I'll explain the mission. As soon as I do, go through that opening. First, track down Sasuke and stop him. Then find a safe location and await further orders." Kakashi ordered. Sakura grabbed Naruto and they left while Shikamaru wasn't exactly thrilled and had to be dragged out by Kakashi dog summon.

"Are they gonna be ok with themselves?" Guy wondered.

"Yes, they'll be fine. Pakkun will protect them. As long as they don't go too far." Kakashi said when several Sound ninja rushed him and Guy only for Naruto to race by at super speed and knock them back. They were sent flying through the air and crashed around all over the place.

More Sand and Sound Ninja arrived and stood next to the traitor wearing the Konoha Anbu Black Ops garb. None of them attacked as they were caught off guard by the sudden appearance of a strange arrival. Someone who didn't have a Konoha headband but was fighting with them and already took out several Sound Ninja with just his bare hands and demonstrated incredible speed. From the crimson and white lightning that appeared around his body they thought he may be from the Hidden Cloud village but had no such defining markers so he was an unknown.

"Interesting. And who could you be?" The Masked Anbu Black Ops said with the two dozen reinforcements standing with him.

"Someone who's not exactly a fan of what you idiots are doing here." Naruto remarked, cracking his knuckles and neck a bit as Kakashi and Guy walked over and joined him.

"Who's your friend, Guy?" Kakashi asked him.

"Not entirely sure but he's on our side." Guy told him.

"Menma Hideo, traveling mercenary at your service." Naruto introduced himself. Kakashi looked him over and didn't recognize him which was a good thing. Guess Naruto's impromptu disguise managed to change his look enough so that he didn't look too much like his prime version. "Came here for the Chunin exams along with some good food and nice company only to find myself in the middle of an invasion. Just my rotten luck."

"And you decided to help us?" Kakashi questioned.

"I have a code of honor I follow which includes coming to the defense of those who need it. And I'm not a fan of sneaky tactics which includes launching an invasion in the middle of a village that puts innocent people at risk." Naruto answered which was good enough for Kakashi and Guy. Their intuitions felt like he was telling the truth and given that they saw him fighting against the Sound Ninja seemed to indicate he wasn't there to help them. "I imagine you have more questions so how about we save that for after we deal with them."

"Fair enough." Kakashi readied his kunai and Guy cracked his knuckles while the Sound and Sand Ninja pulled out their kunai.

"Three against twenty. Pretty bad odds." Guy pointed out as Naruto reached up and unsheathed his katana.

"Yeah…for them." Naruto remarked before the trio met the Sand and Sound Ninja in a violent clash.

Line Break xxxxx

Konoha village was in the middle of an invasion from the Sand and Sound village with the fighting mainly focused in the area around the arena by the Chunin exams and at the outskirts of the village where the invading army breached the walls of the village. They hadn't made their way into the interior of the village yet due to the fierce resistance from the Konoha shinobi. Some of the fiercest fighting was occurring at the arena because of an unexpecting variable that came into play.

Naruto blocked and parried the kunai strikes, punches, and kicks from two Sound Ninja at the same time with ease. They may be trained in the shinobi arts and had chakra but Naruto had the superior speed and was more then fast enough to keep up with both of them. He parried and disarmed one of the Sound Ninja before punching him in the throat and then kicking him in the stomach just in time to block a kunai from the other ninja. Naruto parried it to the side and elbowed the ninja in the face, kneed him in the gut, and then hit him in the back with his sword. The ninja shouted in pain from the hit that likely broke a few bones before he got hit across the face with the sword. He dropped to the ground with a broken nose and some teeth knocked out of his mouth. The other sound Ninja got up and went through some quick hand seals before a scythe of wind was sent at Naruto. Naruto just super sped out of the way and then charged at the Sound Ninja before hitting him in the chest with a push kick. Combined with his speed, it had enough force to send him crashing into the wall of the arena.

Kakashi uncovered his Sharigan, indicating he wasn't leaving anything to chance with the invasion. He punched a Sand Shinobi in the face and blocked a kunai from a Sound Shinobi before pushing him back and landing a jumping spinning hook kick to his face. He then ended him with a kunai to the spine before throwing several shuriken which skewered another. He backflipped to dodge some thrown shuriken before doing a few quick hand signs, took in a deep breath and then shot out small bursts of fire from his mouth. They flew through the air and while some enemy ninja managed to get out of the way there were two that weren't that lucky. The fire consumed their body when they were hit and either they survived with extreme burns before passing out or they were killed. Kakashi slashed a Sand ninja across the heart, sidestepped a kick and slashed another Sand ninja across the neck before ducking and slashing a third Sand ninja across the chest.

Guy blocked and parried some kicks and punches before elbowing his attacker in the chest, kneeing him in the chest and then a backfist to the face that sent him flying through the air. He sidestepped a kunai lunge from behind, grabbed the arm of his attacker and hurled him into the air before jumping into a split kick and taking out two Sound ninja but a third rushed him from the front. Guy just spun in mid-air and punched the ninja's head into the ground. He knocked another ninja out of the way with a backfist and then landed a triple spin kick which took out several more ninja.

Guy backflipped mid-air and dropped kicked a Sand Ninja in the face before he and Kakashi got back to back. "It just doesn't make any sense. I'm shocked that not just the Sound ninja but the Sand jonin would try to infiltrate." Guy pointed out.

"Well, think about it. That's why they call it war." Kakashi reminded him when he saw six Sound Ninja surround them. "Get ready, Guy."

"Bring it on!" Guy readied himself to fight when a gust of air blew past them. They saw a flicker of crimson and white lightning race around them and all they could hear were the grunts, groans, and shouts of pain. The lightning then raced away so Guy and Kakashi could see the six Sound Ninja splayed out on the ground and unconscious. The lightning blur continued to run all over the arena where it proceeded to take out any Sand or Sound shinobi before they could even react. The blur was moving too fast and they were caught off guard on what was happening. The other Konoha shinobi were confused as to what was happening but quickly realized that whatever the lightning blur was, it was on their side. The traitor dressed in the Anbu black ops gear saw what was happening so he decided to retreat, using Shunshin no Jutsu to vanish before he was attacked as well.

Naruto slid to a stop when he saw the Anbu black ops guy disappear. "Dammit. He got away." Naruto remarked as Kakashi and Guy dropped down next to him. "Sorry about that. He got away before I could knock him out."

"Still, good work. I guess that's all of them." Guy stated.

"For now, anyway." Kakashi said. He looked over at their unknown guest and was about to speak with him and get some answers when they heard a loud explosion in the distance.

"That's not good. Looks like things aren't over yet." Naruto super sped out of the arena and headed into the village to help.

"Dammit. Let's go!" Kakashi shouted and everyone dispersed.

Deep in the Konoha village, Konoha Shinobi were engaged in brutal fighting against Sand and Sound Shinobi who were pushing into the village after breaching the fortified walls. The reason they were able to breach the wall was because of three giant Snake summons curtesy of Orochimaru. The giant snakes broke through the wall and killed any Konoha shinobi that tried to stop them. They were very resilient, tough, and deadly.

Konoha Intelligence ninja Ibiki Morino was leading a defensive group against the invasion force but their efforts in keeping them back wasn't going so well. The Snake Summons were tearing through buildings and shrugging off their best attacks. "We need to keep them back!" Ibiki shouted.

"Where's our back up!" Another shinobi asked as the three snake summons hissed and tore through buildings.

"Ninja Art Summoning! Bring-Down-The-House Jutsu!"

A giant toad with dual katanas on its back suddenly appeared on one of the snakes, crushing it under its tremendous weight. On the head of the giant toad was a spikey white-haired man wearing sandals, a grey top, and pants along with a red coat that was bellowing in the wind.

"Long time no see, Ibiki! My, my, what have they been feeding you. You used to be such a little squirt."

"Master Jiraiya." Ibiki muttered in astonishment.

"Jiraiya? One of the Sannin?" His compatriot asked in disbelief as Jiraiya did a pose and began dancing around.

"All right, you baby chicks. Open wide those beady little eyes of yours! Watch closely because when it comes to dealing with strange otherworldly freaks and monsters, no one's better than a strange hermit ninja. Thank goodness that Jiraya's here! Now, unless you want to make this frog really mad, you'll never bother us again!" The other two Snake Summons just looked at him menacingly and Jiraiya got serious. "So, that pain in the neck Orochimaru has finally started."

Ibiki jumped up and landed next to him. "Where's the Hokage?"

"The battle arena." Ibiki answered.

"I see." Jiraiya replied. "Don't die on us, old man."

That's when they heard the crash of thunder and all of a sudden a flicker of crimson and white lightning pierced through the body of one of the two Snake summons remaining. It screeched in pain as blood poured through the massive hole in its body before it fell to the ground and vanished in a puff of smoke. Jiraiya saw an opportunity so he ordered his giant Toad Summon to leap forward and it cut the last Snake Summon in two with one of its swords. After it vanished he looked in the distance and saw the crimson and white lightning race throughout the village with incredible speed but it wasn't acting like a lightning bolt. It seemed to race around the village like it had a mind of its own. Another thing he noticed was that lightning blur was attacking the invading Sand and Sound ninja so whatever it was, it wasn't on their side.

Naruto raced through the village at super speed and was luckily moving more than fast enough to stop the invading Sand and Sound Ninja. His appearance caught them off guard as they had no idea what was happening. They had never seen that kind of speed appear so suddenly except possibly in the Land of Clouds but never had they seen the unique color of lightning. Many Sound and Sand ninja were caught off guard which is all Naruto needed to quickly take them out. He hit them with his sword and broke bones and while it was brutal it was effective. He took out a hundred Sand and Sound ninja in a quick succession before he stopped on a street after piling them up against a fence. He turned around and saw a flurry of shuriken coming right at him so he just used his sword to block them all. He was blur of motion as he blocked and deflected every single shuriken and kunai thrown his way making them all fall to the ground with bent or broken edges.

Two Sand ninja attempted a frontal charge at him which was ill-advised. He waited until the last second before he became a blur to their eyes. To Naruto, he just casually walked to the side out of their way before hitting them all over with his sword. They crumbled to the ground when he was finished and he saw the other Sand Ninja make hand signs before they expelled great gusts of wind from their mouths at him. Thinking on his feet, he quickly spun around his left arm and make a wind funnel which cancelled out their wind-jutsu.

"Ninja Art: Needle Hell Jutsu!"

A barrage of sharp, white-colored projectiles flew through the air and rained down on the Sand and Sound Ninja and hit them like darts. Many were pin cushioned but Naruto wasn't hit. That's when someone jumped down and landed in front of him. His ninja garb was confusing but Naruto instantly recognized him from the long white hair alone. It was the prime-version of Jiraiya and clearly he wasn't someone to mess with but if his earth's Jiraiya was anything to go on then this one was a giant pervert as well.

"Who are you?" Naruto asked, having to play the oblivious foreigner.

"I was about to ask you the same thing." Jiraiya said, and while his tone was partially cavalier it also had a hint of menace and edge to it. He clearly was wary of his presence.

"I'm a friend so you can relax there and I'm here to help. I just had this conversation with two Konoha ninja in the Chunin exams arena. One had spikey grey hair and his headband was covering his left eye while the other had a bowl cut and was wearing a green jumpsuit." Naruto explained and Jiraiya relaxed a bit when he mentioned Kakashi and Guy. "I'm Menma Hideo, traveling mercenary, righter of wrong doings, general helpful person and self-acclaimed heartthrob."

"Really?" Jiraiya found that amusing.

"Might have been the wrong place to mention that but I came to Konoha for the Chunin exams. I figured traveling merchants, festivals, food, and possibly some nice company only to find myself in the middle of a war. Figured I should help however I could. The Arena is secure but the same can't be said for the rest of this place." Naruto sidestepped a kunai lunge at his back, grabbed his attacker's arm and broke it at the elbow before throwing him to the ground and hitting him across the face with his sword. "Suffice to say my mood dipped when the Sound and Sand Ninja began attacking but I'm still conscious so I felt I should help."

"Just out of the goodness of your own heart?" Jiraiya wondered when he heard a groan of pain coming from the Sound Ninja on the ground so he kicked him across the face and knocked him out.

"It's kind of my life story. I'm guessing you saw just how fast I was able to run and yes it was me. I'm kind of a unique circumstance and I'd be more than happy to tell you my life story but perhaps we could do that over some food when we're not in the middle of a warzone?" Naruto offered.

"Fair enough but I've got my eye on you." Jiraiya warned him.

"I'm flattered but I'm not into men. And if I were, I think I could do better then an old guy like you." Naruto joked before he super sped away.

"What the—THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT! PLENTY OF PEOPLE WOULD THINK I'M A CATCH! AND I'M NOT OLD!" Jiraiya shouted in anger as he used the Shunshin no Jutsu to try and keep up.

Naruto, Jiraiya, and the Konoha ninja kept fighting against the invading Sand and Sound ninja. With the three giant snake summons taken out of the equation, the invading forces lost their momentum and things were starting to stagnant as the Konoha ninja pushed back and went on the offensive.

Naruto used his super speed to his advantage and saved Konoha ninja in danger from rogue shurikens/kunai or pulled them out of the way of falling debris and ninjutsu attacks. His speed was the edge in his factor here and considering how much more dangerous all the chakra abilities seemed to be compared to the usual threats he faced in the other worlds he made sure to be more offensively minded in this scenario. He super sped up a four-story building and sucker punched a Sand Shinobi off the roof so he fell down onto the roof of a neighboring three-story building when there was a loud explosion that could be heard in the distance and if that wasn't a bad sign the ground shook as well. Naruto got his footing and saw in the distance that a giant monster appeared in the distance. It was sandy-brown in color with black/blue colored curse marking all over its face, body, and tail. With a gagged, concave mouth and long tail, it stood over 100 meters tall and Naruto could pick up some resemblance to maybe a racoon or a Tanuki but barely. One thing that he did notice was that its arm and color scheme was exactly the same as the sand arm he saw emerge during Chunin exam fight between Sasuke and Gaara. Gaara must have done something and now a giant monster appeared.

He quickly ducked and sidestepped several kunai and dive rolled onto the ground to avoid a lightning blast before he super sped forward and took out the three Sound Ninja that tried to kill him. They were sent flying back and he quickly disabled another ninja with a vicious sword strike to his knee after blocking a kunai to the throat. He resumed running at super speed and raced down the side of a building before taking out Sand and Sound ninjas in quick succession. He slid to a stop and threw a lightning bolt, shocking 6 Sound ninja who were too slow to get out of the way.

Before he could make his next move he heard another explosion and saw a giant toad appear in the forest next to the giant sand monster. It was red in color with a blue happi vest and a giant blade holstered on his back. The other noticeable thing was that it had a large smoking pipe in its mouth. "Ok, giant frog with a pipe in its mouth. I have officially seen everything." He remarked before he quickly spun around and sword slashed another Sand ninja across the face.

As Naruto kept fighting and helping the Konoha ninja against the invading Sound and Sand ninja, the tide of the battle began to tip into their favor with more and more reinforcements coming to help. He kneed one Sound Ninja in the stomach and rolled over him as he doubled-over in pain before hitting him across the back with his sword. Several Sound and Sand ninja surrounded him on the street and in surrounding buildings before they threw dozens if not hundreds of shuriken and kunai at once, trying to get Naruto before he had a chance to protect himself or escape. Realistically that wasn't the case as Naruto could block or easily evade all the shuriken and kunai with ease but decided to try something else instead. He began spinning around at super speed in his own attempt to try the rotation technique that Neji used against his prime-doppelganger. He didn't have charka but he had speed, lightning, and the Speed Force so while he didn't think he could exactly replicate what Neji did he would be able to do something similar. He spun around at super speed going over Mach 10 and with it he was able to make a barrier of wind. Along with the barrier of wind he also had the lightning he generated so his version of this rotation defense was a barrier of wind and electricity. While it didn't provide the same protection as chakra, it was good enough. The wind barrier made the shuriken and kunai bounce off harmlessly and the lightning field he made also helped as well. It created a small electrical field in conjunction with the wind barrier so any shuriken or kunai that weren't stopped by the wind were stopped by the electrical field like they were affected by magnets.

The Sand and Soun ninja stared in awe before various bolts of lightning were shot out from the spinning, speeding blur. They quickly wised up and ran away only to end up into combat with Konoha ninja. The spinning blur soon slowed down and when it stopped Naruto wobbled around and tried to find his footing. "Ugh, ok there's one downside to that. Ugh…" Naruto raised his hands over his head and took a few deep breaths while he fought the urge to throw up his lunch. Thankfully it passed in a few seconds and he was fine. That's when he heard another explosion and the giant red toad with the smoking pipe turning into a giant red-furred, 9-tailed fox with as menacing as a gaze as you'd expect. Naruto recognized the fox from when he had Gideon analyze what was going on with his prime-self and clearly there was a connection. "Ok, now I've seen everything."

In the rest of Konoha, the counter-attack against the forces of the Sound and Sand Village had organized and were pushing on the offensive. Six Sound and Sand ninja were running down a street in the village when a flurry of shuriken came down and killed three of them while the others managed to block and defend themselves. They looked up and saw 5 real Konoha Anbu Black Ops ninja waiting for them.

"Not another step! You are done here!" The lead Anbu captain stated before they vanished and quickly dispatched the Sound and Sand ninja with ease.

The Hyuga clan head, Hiashi Hyuga single-handedly knocked back and killed multiple Sand ninja near the arena like it was nothing. The Sand ninja were cocky and underestimated the skill of the Hyuga Clan head, especially with his Byakugan active and utilizing his clan's combat style. Another group attempted to surround him from all sides in order to have the advantage.

"What the hell are you all waiting for?! He's just one man!" The leader shouted which is when Hiashi began spinning around.

"Rotation!" Hiashi spun around and the chakra field he generated expanded out to 20-feet which knocked back all the Sand Ninja before he stopped moving. "The Leaf Village's spirit is strong. You'd do well to remember."

Elsewhere in the village, the head of the Nara Clan, Shikaku Nara and Shikamaru's father had four Sand Ninja trapped with his Shadow Paralysis jutsu before using the Shadow Strangle Jutsu to dispatch them. The head of the Akimichi clan, Choza Akimichi and Choji's father, used his Expansion Jutsu and grew in size until he was at least 150-feet tall and began using his size and giant bo-staff to take out Sand and Sound Ninja. Inoichi Yamanaka, Ino's father and the head of the Yamanaka clan used his Mind Destruction Jutsu to turn Sand Ninja against one another and get them to kill each other. The trio were a deadly combination and the invaders felt it. The Inuzuka clan and their ninja hounds aided in the fight as well and Naruto could tell that the Sand and Sound Ninja wouldn't be able to take the village. They had the advantage of the sudden sneak attack, attacking in the middle of the village and then using the Snake Summons to bust through the village walls but it seemed like they lacked in ninja with great skill, techniques and Ninjutsu. And Naruto figured that him there probably helped as well. When he saw the Konoha ninja make more of an offensive pushback against their invaders, he pulled back and let them handle it. He realized how stupid it sounded that he wanted to follow his future-self's rules for this world considering he already helped in halting the invasion but now that the momentum of the invaders had died down, backing off seemed like a good idea so he didn't do any more damage.

Thankfully his instincts paid off as it seemed as though things were looking up for the Konoha village. The giant sandy-colored monster started to crack and crumble until it was gone and same with the giant toad. That's when he also saw the purple barrier by the arena vanish and he could see what looked like a giant in-grown forest. He saw the glimpses of a group of people leaving but wasn't able to see who.

At that point, it seemed as though the invasion was over. The Sound village suffered heavy causalities and when the barrier at the arena went down they retreated. The Sand village forces were heavily depleted, losing most of their invasion force and weren't able to push back against the Konoha defenses. Once they saw the Sound Ninja leave, the Sand Ninja began to retreat as well. The day was won for Konoha but it was a bittersweet victory. Konoha suffered heavy losses in the village's defenses and soon it was spread that the biggest loss was death of the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi.

The next day…

The entire village was in mourning and funeral services for the Third Hokage was today which reflected in the mood. There was a somber aura throughout the village which was obvious as everyone in the village would be attending the funeral. Even though the village's defenses were heavily damaged and they lost some of their ninja there were enough to monitor the perimeter incase something happened. Everyone was wearing black garb and gathered at the Hokage Mansion underneath Hokage Mountain or around the area if there wasn't any room. A picture of the Third Hokage was placed on an altar in the middle of the other Konoha Shinobi who lost their lives during the invasion. Everyone was gathered in observance when it began to rain as if the heavens themselves were in mourning of the loss.

Up by the altar were Koharu Utatane and Homaru Mitokado who were two of the senior members of the Konoha Council and former teammates of the Third Hokage. They knew him and had a relationship with him that other people didn't.

"We are gathered here to remember and honor not only the third Hokage, but all those who sacrificed themselves in this battle so that our village would survive. So, it's come to pass. In the end, all we could do was watch." Homaru said as everyone bowed their head in respect.

One by one, village members placed down white flowers on the altar in respect for those that loss their lives. Prime-Naruto watched in despair as Iruka Umino comforted the Third Hokage's Grandson, Konohamaru. Paying back the same kind of emotional support he needed when his parents died. He wouldn't forget that day and the words the Third Hokage said to him. The Will of Fire and the strong bond that everyone in Konoha shared. He made sure to teach that lesson to everyone he taught going forward so the Third Hokage's dream would live on.

In the distance on the roof of a building was Naruto, watching the funeral. He kept his distance and considering what was happening he felt that it was best if he made himself scarce and let everyone mourn in peace. Naruto didn't know the man but paid his respects to his death. He watched everything and used his goggles to get a better look. He could tell his prime-self was really hurt with the loss but doing his best to hide it. Soon enough the rain stopped and the clouds dispersed so the sun could pierce through the darkness, like a new light was shinning down on the village. The village may have suffered a great loss but even with that, there was a new hope. The funeral ended soon after and everyone dispersed. Naruto could tell that his prime-self was still in mourning but the small conversation he had with one of the older ninja seemed to put him in a better mood. Even though his future-self ruled that it was a good idea to avoid contact with his prime-self, maybe some passing words of encouragement would do him good. After all, he knew what he was going through so some small words of ease might help.

He heard some footsteps come in from behind and soon enough someone was right next to him. "I tried to look for you here but didn't see you." Naruto said, turning his head and looking at Jiraiya. "Sorry for your loss."

Jiraiya gave him a nod in response as they watched the last remaining mourners leave the funeral. "I didn't think you'd still be here." Jiraiya told him and Naruto nodded.

"To be honest, neither did I." Naruto admitted.

"So, why are you still here?" Jiraiya questioned.

"I'm not really sure. Guess since I helped fight against the invasion I wanted to see how things were doing and make sure they're ok. I'm the kind of person that when I start something I see it through to the end." Naruto answered in complete honesty which was actually true. Jiraiya could see that but there was still more he wanted to know. "Judging by how you're here talking to me and I'm not currently being hogtied means that you've decided to talk things out. Thank you for that, by the way, and if you've got some time I'm open to talk. Preferably over some alcohol if possible. I know a place."

"Then lead the way." Jiraiya remarked and they headed to an inn only a few blocks away. It was in the interior of the village about several blocks from the Hokage mountain which meant it was in part of the village that didn't suffer any damage from the invasion. Naruto managed to rent a room at the inn so he didn't have to sleep out on the street or go camping in the woods nearby. The inn had a small restaurant/bar on the ground floor so Naruto and Jiraiya got a booth in the back. A waitress came over to take their order and Jiraiya tried to flirt with her but she didn't seem to fall for his advances. Plus, he wasn't that charming as he thought he was.

"Two bottles of sake and some Gyoza please." Naruto ordered and the waitress nodded before leaving to put the order in. "So, what do you want to know?"

"Why don't we start with where you're from." Jiraiya told him.

"Easy enough. I'm from Takumi Village in the Land of Rivers." Naruto answered. Since he couldn't tell Jiraiya that he was from an alternate earth he made up an alternate answer. His trip to the Konoha library gave him information on the continent and the surrounding area. The Land of Rivers was a country that bordered between the Lands of Wind and the Land of Fire and Takumi Village was a village known for its inhabitants and their skills in making weaponry, many of which were sold to various ninja villages around the world. But considering the situation it was a pretty good answer as it was an area that a major ninja village would at least have general knowledge of yet it didn't have any significant military presence or a ninja village that would be a cause for alarm like if he said he was from the Land of Clouds.

"Really? Never knew that Takumi village trained ninja." Jiraiya pointed out.

"Well, they don't because I'm not a ninja. My story's a little stranger then most so bear with me. My parents were smiths and scientists back in Takumi village. They were great people but they passed away in an accident and it was just me. They taught me everything I know including paying for lessons from a local samurai which is how I know to fight. And they also made me my sword." Naruto removed his sword from his back and handed it to Jiraiya so he could see. And it was also a gesture of good faith to willingly hand over a weapon. Jiraiya inspected it with his own eyes and while he wasn't a weapon master he could tell the blade was very well made and the fact that it was a katana added some credence to Naruto's fake story about being trained by a samurai.

"This is a quality sword but I doubt a samurai was able to show you how to run so fast that you create lightning?" Jiraiya pointed out as the waitress came back with two bottles of sake, two glasses and a plate of sizzling Gyoza.

"No, that wasn't him. That came as a result of something that started off with getting struck by a bolt of lightning and being put to sleep for 9 months." Naruto said and Jiraiya was intrigued.

Naruto then began explaining his modified origin story and his adventures to Jiraiya. With his brain being super smart and its ability to process information a million times faster then a normal person could, he was able to quick think up of a modified version of his origin story to tell Jiraiya that he would believe. He kept in the part about being struck by lightning and put in a coma for 9 months along with getting the help of some friends to figure out exactly what happened. Given this earth's technological and scientific limitations, Naruto was able to figure out a more world-appropriate explanation to explain what he could do. He said that the lightning bolt merged with his charka and created a small lightning network within his body so he now generated lightning. It's what allowed him to run so fast and created the lightning trail when he ran but in the process it prevented him from using his "Charka" like a ninja could for Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu. After he learned what happened to him he then tested his limits to discover exactly what he could do and what he couldn't do. It's how he learned to throw the lightning he generated and to rotate his arms so fast he made wind funnels. After he learned what he could do and to control his new abilities he went on his own journey of self-discovery, helping people along the way and making some nice money for himself. He adjusted some of the events of his multiversal travels for his stories but it helped keep Jiraiya occupied and when he mentioned the beautiful women he met along the way he was suckered in.

Jiraiya wasn't sure if it was the sake and good stories or what but something about the guy put him at ease. Sort of like when he was with Naruto. Whether it was things greater then their understanding or perhaps there were some relationships that transcended the multiverse, but despite the earth they were on the bond that Naruto and Jiraiya had was something that couldn't be faked.

The reconstruction of the Konoha village was underway with some outside help aiding in the recovery effort. The civilians and non-shinobi of the village were hard at work rebuilding what was broken while the ninja helped as well. The low-level Genin assisted in small-scale tasks while the senior and more advanced ninja were out undertaking missions to bring in money for the village or protect their borders. Kid-Naruto and Konohamaru met near the Hokage Mansion and Hokage mountain and look on in remembrance. They both missed the Third Hokage.

"There's nothing wrong with mourning someone you care about."

Kid-Naruto and Konohamaru looked up and saw someone they didn't recognize standing there next to them. One thing they did notice was the katana strapped across his back. He had combed down black hair and was wearing some unusual clothing but they didn't see a Konoha headband.

"Huh?" Konohamaru looked at him confused. "Are you talking to us?"

"There's no one else here, is there?" The stranger pointed out. "You two miss him, don't you? Both of you had a close relationship with the Hokage. It's ok to miss him. There's nothing wrong with crying or feeling sad about someone you care about no longer being around. Everyone goes through it and I can speak from experience that its difficult to move on after."

"So, you've lost people too?" Kid-Naruto asked him and the stranger nodded in response.

"I have. In the beginning it was hard. It's like a wave washing over you again and again and it'll knock you down no matter how hard you try to fight it. It's why you can't bury your sorrow and grief. You have to face it but…in a way, facing it can make it all better." The stranger told them.

"What do you mean?" Konohamaru wondered.

"Well, it's can't all be sorrow, can it? The bad things you feel also remind you of the cherished memories you have of your loved one. Sooner or later bad things will happen and we'll all be gone one day. No matter how strong, smart, or powerful…eventually we'll be gone and everyone else will have to continue on without us. It's an unfortunate part of life but the point is that they were here at all in the first place. When you lose someone you care about, it will hurt. But that pain will remind you of how much you loved them. We just have to remember to cherish the time we have together. If you remember that, I think no matter what…the Hokage will always be with you." The stranger told them and his words had a profound impact on both of them. Konohamaru stifled a cry before he managed to straighten himself out. Same with Kid-Naruto. That's when they heard two coin flicks and saw something heading at them so they caught it. Kid-Naruto and Konohamaru each caught a gold coin. "I overhead that both of you are doing good work with the village. Good work should be rewarded. Get yourselves something to eat and remember what I said. Take care."

The stranger bid them farewell and walked away.

"Hey, wait! Who are you?!" Kid-Naruto shouted and the man stopped before turning his head back to give them a reassuring smile.

"Just a friend passing through. Take care you two and don't forget. So long as you two remember everything he taught you…he'll never be forgotten."

Kid-Naruto and Konohamaru sniffled a bit and wiped away their tears before they adopted smiles on their faces. "Right! Good bye! And thanks again for the money!" Kid-Naruto and Konohamaru waved goodbye and the stranger waved in response.

Naruto walked away from the encounter with a smile on his face and a warm feeling spreading through his stomach. "He's gonna be just fine." He muttered to himself.

Naruto walked through the village and could see that even though they had just suffered through an attack and lost many of their proud shinobi including the Hokage, they were quick to rebuild and work together for a better tomorrow. It was very heartwarming to see that they could rebuild and everyone was coming together. After explaining himself to Jiraiya which did the benefit of not getting him thrown in jail and not looked at as an enemy, then giving his prime-self a few words of encouragement he was ready to leave. A part of him would have liked to stick around but considering that his future-self indicated that too much interference on this prime-earth could alter the destiny of his prime-doppelganger leaving now before he changed too much was a good idea. Considering how young he was he didn't want to mess with that so leaving now while his impact in his life was minimal was the best course of action. He already helped against an invasion by fighting against hundreds of Sound and Sand ninja and even took out one of those giant Snake Summons. His prime-self was still alive and hopefully the conversation they just had gave him some good advice to follow. Staying around any longer risked him getting involved in greater issues which then could impact larger events. A part of him wanted to stay but the rational part won out in the end and it was time to go. Prime Naruto Uzumaki was on his way to great things.

Naruto walked through the village and made his way to the main gate. Part of it was under repair with Konoha shinobi on high alert as they checked on people coming into the village. Naruto walked to the gate which is when he saw Jiraiya leaning against the check-in booth. He got up and walked over to meet him.

"Didn't think you'd come find me as I leave? What's the occasion?" Naruto wondered.

"I happened to be in the area. I spotted some lovely women I could use as inspiration for my next book when I saw you heading to the gate so I wanted to see what was going on." Jiraiya answered.

"Well, I'm leaving now. Things are set here so it's time to move on." Naruto told him. "I am free to leave, aren't I?"

"You are. A part of me thinks you're dangerous but I can tell that you're not an enemy." Jiraiya admitted before holding out his hand. "Take care of yourself."

Naruto was a little surprised to see his reaction but shook his hand in response. "You too, old man."

"I'm not old." Jiraiya pointed out.

"I don't know about that. Your hair color and wrinkles would beg to differ." Naruto joked before he raced away at super speed. Jiraiya just huffed in annoyance.

"I swear that guy reminds me of the kid." He muttered before heading into the village to go find Naruto to take him on a mission to find his friend when he stopped. "Could he be…no, that's ridiculous."

Jiraiya shook that crazy idea out of his head and headed into the village to find kid-Naruto. From what he heard Ichiraku Ramen is where he likely would be. Naruto raced away from the village at super speed and prepped to make his next trip. During the run, he vibrated his head at super speed which had the advantageous effect of getting rid of the makeup he was wearing and the dye in his hair along with unflattening it so he was back to his normal appearance. After that he removed his regular clothes and put them back in his pack so he was in his Impulse suit. He slipped on his mask, pulled his goggles down over his eyes and concentrated before a breach opened up. He jumped through and it closed right behind him.

Multiversal Superhighway

His adventure on the earth of his prime-self may not have been as adventurous or mind-blowing as the other earths he's visited but what he learned was informative. If that was the prime version of all Naruto's in the multiverse then it's safe to say Naruto understood where he got his best qualities. His drive, determination, passion, and his care about others no matter what happened were among his defining traits and now he knew that he was this way for a reason. His prime-self was still young but what he saw showed that had tremendous potential despite what others may say about him. His victory over Neji was proof enough of that. Despite everyone's doubts on his skill or chances, Naruto managed to pull through with a victory in an unusual and unpredictable way. No matter how stacked the odds or how much he was beaten, a Naruto wouldn't give up and if he did he would never give up without a hard fought fight. He had a feeling that while things on Earth NU-Prime wouldn't be easy, Naruto Uzumaki would be there to help.

With that taken care of, Naruto concentrated on trying to find a path through the Multiversal Superhighway back to Earth-2. Considering the Tachyon barrier around Earth-1 preventing his return, making his way to Earth-2 was his best option. He would be able to work at the STAR labs of Earth-2 with his parents Doppelgangers and Earth-2 Harrison Wells to figure out a way to get past the Tachyon barrier so he and Ronnie could get home. Between the four of them and with Gideon, they'd be able to figure it out but first he needed to figure out where he was in the multiverse. He kept running and concentrated on his destination as he caught glimpses of other earths he passed. That's when he saw the same white suited speedster from before, jump out into the Multiversal highway like before and charged at him only this time Naruto was ready. The mystery speedster tried to tackle him like before but Naruto grabbed his arms and headbutted him in the face. It staggered him back and Naruto then tackled him instead, knocking them out somewhere in the multiverse.

Earth-295

Naruto and the mystery speedster tumbled out of the breach together, rolling on the ground before it closed shut. The two rolled on the floor but Naruto got back to his feet, grabbed the mystery speedster by the chest and then threw him. The momentum sent him flying through the air and crashing through the wall of a building. Naruto spared a glance to check the world he was on but didn't really need to as the smell of smoke and the alert from his watch on the uptick in radiation levels gave him a pretty good idea on what happened to this one. He and the mystery speedster ended up arriving on an earth that looked like it just went through a nuclear apocalypse. The sky was blood red which completely blotted out the sun and Naruto could tell by the debris that he was standing in what was left of Manhattan. The reason he knew it was Manhattan was because he saw the Empire State Building, or what was left of it, in the distance. That and he saw several old, destroyed subway stop signs for the Manhattan area.

He saw an old newsrack that was somehow miraculously still upright if it was supported by some melted metal poles. Inside was a newspaper dated from October 1962. The headline read; Tensions spiral from Cuban Missile Crisis! Nixon calls for World War 3. Naruto could estimate what happened on this earth given the headline. This must have been an earth where Richard Nixon won the presidency against JFK, if he existed on this earth, and things at the Cuban Missile Crisis spiraled into World War 3 between the US and the USSR which then ended in nuclear warfare where they completely destroyed all life on earth.

Before he could think of any more questions he had for this earth he quickly sidestepped a feral charge from the side and tossed his attacker to the ground. His attacker was the mystery speedster and he quickly got back to his feet as the two glared at one another. Naruto took note of the suit belonging to the speedster who now attacked him twice. It was white with gold accents on the arms, legs, and torso with gold gloves. It had a lightning bolt on the chest but without the circle around it like on Barry's Flash suit or on Naruto's Impulse suit. He had a mask covered his entire head with two gold lightning bolts on his ears, no mouth opening, and black lenses on his eyes. Naruto could tell the suit was made for a speedster to be friction and abrasion resistant but its aesthetic design clearly implied that whoever this speedster was felt almost god-like.

"That's twice you've tried to attack me and it hasn't gone your way. Try a third time and we're gonna have a problem." Impulse warned him, vibrating his voice to help disguise his identity a little more.

"There won't be a third time." The mystery speedster replied vibrating his voice as well. (2)

"So, you do speak. Who the hell are you?" Impulse asked him.

"Someone like you. Someone given incredible speed and has become a god. I am Godspeed." Godspeed introduced himself.

"I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you but it's not. What do you want with me?" Impulse questioned as the two stalked around one another.

"What else? Your speed." Godspeed stated. "Your speed is impressive. With it put in the hands of a speedster who deserves it, it can be used to do truly change things for the better."

"Somehow I think your definition of better is a little different then mine." Impulse pointed out. "But my speed is staying with me."

"Then you've made your last mistake." Godspeed declared as his body began to spark with white lightning.

"Say that after you catch me!" Impulse took off running with Godspeed right behind him. Their two lightning trails zipped throughout the entire island of Manhattan, weaving and swerving through the narrow streets and alleyways that remained while also avoiding the decayed and destroyed rubble of what remained of the city. Impulse was in the lead but Godspeed was right on his ass and at various points of the chase he shot ahead. When Godspeed was in the lead he tried to box Impulse into a kill corner but wasn't able to. Impulse was too quick and got creative with his running and made some clever escapes. He phased through the destroyed rubble of Time Square, ran up the side of the destroyed Chrysler building, and when he jumped from the destroyed building he rotated his arms at super speed to make wind funnels so he hovered through the air. Godspeed followed him and the two speedsters flew through the air before Impulse touched down and continued running. Godspeed touched down soon after and ran after Impulse.

The duo soon took their running over to the remains of the George Washington Bridge, having to jump the gaps on the partially destroyed bridge, and they made their way into New Jersey. Godspeed sped up and got right alongside Impulse so the two began exchanging blows. Godspeed attacked with some wild haymakers only for Impulse to block them all and retaliate with a quick punch to the side and then a jab to the face. Godspeed staggered but quickly recovered and a parried a punch to the stomach so he could deliver a vicious right cross to Impulse's face. He followed that up with a gut punch but Impulse grabbed his hand before kicking out his left leg so he could knee him across the face, then pulling him up so he could strike with 24 chain punches to his chest. Godspeed recovered after the last punch and headbutted Impulse in the face and all of this happened at super speed in the span of a few seconds. The two crashed through an old building and tumbled through a foyer before they landed in an old courtyard. Despite the injuries both of them had from the fight and then crashing through the building they got back up and quickly began running around in circles. Both speedsters built up some speed before they stopped and hurled their lightning bolts. Godspeed threw his white lightning while Impulse threw his crimson and white lightning. When both lightning bolts clashed they created a huge blast and explosion of light that was blinding like a camera flash modified to go higher then its highest setting. The impact of the explosion knocked both speedsters off their feet and sent them flying until something stopped them. Godspeed crashed into another building while Impulse spun through the air and crashed onto the ground.

"Ugh, that hurts…" He muttered in pain. He shook his head and managed to get to his feet where he cracked his back. It hurt but he put that in the back of his mind as he was still in the middle of the fight. Godspeed was fast, likely at the same speed as he was but their training was different. He could tell from their first encounter but this second one just confirmed what he already knew. Godspeed was a speedster but he didn't have the same hand-to-hand combat training he did. That meant he likely never had to fight someone who was a speedster or relied mostly on his speed for quick, instant kills. He figured it was likely a combination of the two. Godspeed rushed out of the hole in the building he made and charged right at him so Naruto decided to end this fight before it dragged on and he risked giving Godspeed the edge.

He began spinning around in place at super speed, creating a protective wind dome combined with his lightning. Godspeed was not expecting that and when he came into contact with the protective dome the wind blasted him back while the lightning electrocuted him. Godspeed was thrown back and tumbled on the ground as Impulse's crimson and white lightning surged around his body. He struggled to find his footing but managed to do so and heard the distinct crackle of electrical sparks along with a distinct humming. Those sounds were the byproduct of Impulse attempting to replicate something he saw on the prime earth he just visited. His own version of that lightning Jutsu Prime-Sasuke used. He focused and concentrated his speed and lightning to his right hand so it seemed like he was literally holding a small crimson and white lightning cluster. The lightning gathered was bright, powerful and gave off a distinct electrical hum as opposed to the version Sasuke used that sounded like birds chirping. Still, whatever can work.

Impulse took off running right at Godspeed while he was still staggered and shocked from the lightning and attacked. Godspeed managed to maneuver his body at the last moment but it didn't save him from the lightning infused jab to his upper left shoulder.

"ARGH!"

Godspeed howled in pain as he grabbed Impulse's arm to keep his hand from piercing any further. Impulse then used this opportunity and grabbed Godspeed before speeding away, dragging him as he concentrated and opened up a breach into the multiverse. With a loud yell he heaved Godspeed into the breach and it closed right behind him.

"And let that be the last time I see him." Naruto remarked.

Earth-95482

A breach opened onto an earth and Godspeed tumbled out onto the ground, clutching his bleeding shoulder. He landed flat of his back and groaned in pain as he forced himself up while pressing his hand against his shoulder to slow the bleeding. He looked around noticed he was thrown onto another earth, this one just as desolate as the previous one. This earth had undergone a second Ice Age so everything was covered in ice, snow, and resided in freezing cold temperatures.

Godspeed looked around and didn't see anyone before he looked down at his bleeding shoulder and started to shake in anger.

"RAHHHHH!"

Godspeed was alone on the planet but his loud, cacophonous yelling could likely be heard from miles away. He seethed in anger and swore that he would make Speedster pay with his life for what he has done.

He would destroy him.

Back with Naruto…

Naruto breathed a sigh of relief as he wiped his hand of Godspeed's blood. With him gone, he could focus back on getting to Earth-2 so he resumed his running and ran through a breach. He focused on heading back to Earth-2 and as he did, he thought about his journey and what other possibilities existed in the multiverse. But the bigger question would be what kind of those possibilities would he have to face.

Still, no matter what has happened, this was an adventure he would never forget so maybe making a audio diary would be a good idea.

"In the beginning there was nothing. Then came the Big Bang and light was born into the universe." Naruto narrated as the scene shifted to pitch black darkness.

Nothing could be seen as there was nothing to see. That's when an explosion of energy birthed light into the universe.

"It spread into every corner of existence and life was born. It spread and soon gave turned into something greater."

That light soon spread and creation was born. That light soon turned into stars and suns and planets but not just one. Dozens, then hundreds, thousands, millions, billions, trillions and even more.

"The Multiverse."

The universe began to multiply and replicate like it was copying itself and it was.

"Every existence multiplied by possibility and spread out before space and time in infinite measure. Every decision, outcome, and possibility for all time."

The blue-colored, ever shifting and expanding corridor to the multiverse appeared. Glimpses of various earths in the multiverse could be seen and each was unique in its own way. Some shared certain similarities while others couldn't be more different.

"Civilizations rose and fell. And rose again across realities grasping expanse. Life, preserving in the face of every obstacle."

One earth was shown that never evolved pasted the dinosaurs while another was nothing more than a crumbling nuclear wasteland. Another showed an earth that never evolved past the stone age while another was so advanced that humans shed their mortal bodies for an existence as pure energy.

That's when Earth-1 appeared from a year ago and it showed Barry Allen and Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, The Flash and Impulse racing through the city together to keep it safe from bad guys. Time then went on to show the Flash and Impulse both undergoing their own trials, facing obstacles and metahumans, before both fought against their own personal demons. Impulse with Orochimaru and the Flash with Reverse-Flash. The final fight with Reverse-Flash and his gamble with the wormhole to send him into the future resulting in a black hole opening up over Central City. The two speedsters did their best to contain the black hole and with the help of Firestorm they were able to collapse it before it could do anymore damage.

But closing the black hole had the unfortunate effect of blasting Impulse and Ronnie Raymond through to Earth-2. The duo were stuck on an unfamiliar earth but with time they got themselves situated and the help of some new friends who wore familiar faces. With an increase in speed, Impulse was able to open up a breach into the multiverse and began the next part of his journey.

"Good…"

Naruto arrived on Earth-38 where he established a friendship and bond with Kara Danvers AKA Supergirl. The Duo raced around the city with Impulse helping Supergirl and the DEO against a Hellgramite, Kara's rogue Kryptonian Aunt, and then Reactron.

"Evil…"

Earth-21 where Naruto helped the last remnants of Humanity survive on an earth after a century of living in space. His skill and knowledge aided their camp, heal those who needed it, and his genius brain helped establish a peace between the People from the Sky and the Grounders against the treacherous group residing in Mount Weather. Despite some shortcomings and dealing with his own limitations he was able to help them.

"Life…"

Earth-28 where Naruto was able to use his incredible intellect to help Seattle Medical Examiner Liv Moore who was unfortunately turned into a Zombie. His genius let him understand the virus and the progress on a cure had been shortened tremendously. While there was still work to be done what he was able to do provided Liv with hope that she would soon be back to normal. Plus, it gave him a chance to show that his mind was just as important as his speed.

"Death…"

Earth-899 where Naruto was able to actually find an earth that was the real life embodiment of Game of Thrones only to end his journey fighting against an literal army of ice zombies and nearly getting killed by a White Walker. He did manage to kill it but things on that earth were looking down so he would need to head back and help however he could.

Why?

Because he promised he would.

"Heroes…"

Earth-29 where Naruto arrived on an earth with two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester who did one thing and one thing only. Hunt monsters and they were good at it. Plus, working with them gave Naruto some much needed information on the Supernatural he'll put to good use in the future.

Earth N-52 where he met an animated version of heroes he had met before like Superman, Batman, and the Flash along with new ones like Green Lantern, Cyborg, and Shazam. He worked them against an alien despot, saved the planet, and helped form the Justice League.

Earth-19999, an earth that brought Marvel Comics and the MCU to life. He met and helped Jessica Jones against the creepy and pathetic Kilgrave, aided Agent Coulson in stopping some Hydra goons and finding his friends, and then helped the Avengers against Hydra and stopping a rogue AI from taking over the planet. Plus he got some gold, Vibranium, and some Pym Particles Shrinking tech so it was a fun time.

"Villains…"

Earth-17654 where Naruto ended up on an earth out of a nightmare. Where superheroes or Supes as they were called on that earth were nothing more then high-paid reality TV celebrities given powers and didn't deserve them. They did more damage then saving and were more focused on money and their fame instead of doing what a hero should do. Unlucky for them, Naruto got some help from the CIA and a group of other like-minded individuals. With the help of the Boys, Naruto not only showed that world was real superheroes were like but put the Supes in their place and made sure they would never hurt someone ever again.

Plus, getting to outrace A-Train and trounce that man-child Homelander was an added benefit as well.

"And the weird…"

Earth-A29, an animated earth straight from Warner Bros where he met the Animaniacs. Then on Earth-A47 and A48 where he got to see the Simpson and Family guy respectively. And then Earth-R17 which was an earth that looked like an 1920s black and white Disney Era cartoon, Earth-R19 and he arrived in an 1970s cartoon earth. Then Earth-H01 where he met an animated Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. They were funny and the world definitely seemed more crash, humorous, and violent then he was used to.

Earth-89 where he met an old looking version of Gotham city and an weird version of Batman in what looked like a rubber suit. But that wasn't as odd as Earth-66 where it was a Batman and reality like something out of an old 60s TV show. Plus, the Batman of that world wore what looked like a cheap, TV-grade cotton Batsuit and not exactly the prime symbol of darkness and vengeance he was familiar with.

And Naruto would rather forget about the other earths he saw like the one with those moody vampires or those singing teens who looked like they were in their twenties. Although the one where Barry's doppelganger was singing was funny.

"It's out there. Every decision has an outcome. You won't know what you'll find until you go out for yourself and see it."

Naruto closed his eyes and speed through the multiversal superhighway with one destination in mind and he was close. He kicked it into overdrive and maxed out his speed, speeding past earth after earth until he was there and then opened up a breach.

Earth-2 Central City, STAR Labs

Ronnie Raymond walked through STAR labs with a cup of coffee in his hand and made his way through the building until he arrived at the breach room. That wasn't its official designation but considering that's where Naruto made his multiverse breach it's what they called it. It had been a total of nearly 6 months since Naruto and Ronnie had arrived on Earth-2 after the singularity incident and nearly 2 months since Naruto went on his breach test to find a way back to Earth-1. Many of them hoped that it would be a few hours, maybe even a day before he returned but no. 2 months since he left and he hadn't returned. They were still able to monitor his vitals which meant he was alive but they had no idea where he was and what he was doing.

Ronnie walked into the breach room to check the monitor where Naruto's vitals were relayed back to and the data showed there seemed to be a slight spike in his adrenaline but other then that he seemed fine. He heard some footsteps behind him and in walked Minato, Naruto's Father's doppelganger.

"Anything?" He asked.

"A slight spike in his adrenaline. Looks like he found himself in a fight again." Ronnie answered.

"Well, hopefully soon that won't be an issue. I've been working on this the past two months and I think I've finally got it ready." Minato walked over and plugged in a table to the monitor. It brought up a complex tracking program combined with Quantum Entanglement and Theoretical asymmetrical symmetry. "I've finally managed to work out the math for a tracking program that should allow us to track Naruto to whatever earth he is on the multiverse. We'll not only be able to monitor his vitals but his position."

"Sounds good to me." Ronnie stated as Minato began activating the tracking program when a breach portal appeared in the room. Ronnie and Minato tensed up when a crimson and white blur raced out and the breach portal shut right behind him. They saw it was Naruto in his Impulse suit.

Naruto stood up and looked around, pulling his mask down as he saw he was in the breach room at STAR labs and then saw Ronnie and his dad. "I'm back, right?" He asked them and they nodded.

"Oh, Naruto it's good to see you alive." Ronnie rushed over and the two shared a quick hug. Minato then hugged his son and pat him on the back.

"Are you ok?" Minato asked Naruto.

"I'm good. Just glad I'm back." Naruto answered. "How long have I been gone?"

"Two months. We were beginning to get worried about you." Ronnie told him.

"Two months?" Naruto asked for clarification.

"Yeah, why?" Minato questioned as Naruto looked at his watch which had kept track of how long he had been traveling and it said 8 months.

"I think my timeframe might be a little different then yours." He pointed out.

"Naruto, what happened? Did you make it back to Earth-1?" Ronnie wondered and Naruto shook his head no.

"No, I didn't. Things got complicated." Naruto said and he wasn't exaggerating. He had quite the story to tell them.

End of the final Chapter

1). Naruto's disguise is him with black hair but it's also combed down. For a visual reference, in the Naruto Shippuden episode where Naruto meets his mother and wonders what he would have looked like with his mother's hair color and style, that's the general appearance. Something smooth and combed down but instead of red his hair is dyed black.

2). Godspeed's disguised voice is the same as Godspeed's from Season 6 Episode 18.

And that's the end of Adventures through the multiverse. I hoped you guys liked it. I know a lot of you probably wanted more when Naruto visiting the earth of his prime-self but realistically with everything that he could change it would have greatly changed things and considering the damage he could do it was best to keep it short, simple, and sweet so we can get back to Crimson Speedster. For those wondering why the original Naruto instead of Shippuden, well things in the original series at that point in time during the Chunin exams weren't as crazy and overpowered as they got in Shippuden so it was the best chance for Naruto to appear and not get overpowered. Naruto's back on Earth-2 and some time has passed which means things are heating up and will get interesting.

Next chapter, Naruto's return from his multiversal adventure has made him stronger but his enemies have grown as well. Zoom is out for revenge and their next clash has an unforeseen outcome. One that puts Naruto closer to understanding the true nature of his powers and its source. Until then!
