Title: Crystal Picard, Cardcaptor
Summary: Children don't have adventures, doesn't really face danger, but when Crystal Picard opens the Clow book, unleashing the most powerful creation of Clow Reed, she finds herself on the path to become the most powerful sorceress, and Mistress of the Clow Book ever. Why? Because Clow Reed saw her before he died. Crossover of Cardcaptor Sakura, but no Sakura.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters, except Crystal, and I'm making nothing from this.
A/N: While this is a K rated story the title of the chapter indicates how far Li will go to ensure that Crystal doesn't have the kind of protection the Administers intended her to have. The kind of Enchantment that he does uses the emotions that Crystal's parents have for each other and also deactivates Beverly's implant. This is the chapter that marks the beginning of the birth of Crystal's sisters, four girls that have nearly as much magical power as she does. The enchantment is only mentioned by Kero as one of the many spells that Clow Reed could do.
Most of the chapter is about Crystal's time in sickbay and the discovery of a new ability that she has. Oh and this does include a Characters death.
Chapter 15: Li's Enchantment
When Crystal came to she found herself in sickbay. She looked around, trying to see if her mother was there, but she wasn't. Nurse Ogawa came in and smiled at her.
"I see that your awake," she said.
"Where's my mother at?" Crystal asked her.
"Having a meeting with the Captain," she answered. "They were both concerned about what happened in the Captain's Ready Room. She told me this is the second time that you've passed out."
"Kero says that it's my magic growing," Crystal told her.
"That's what she said," Nurse Ogawa told her. "I want you to lay there and try to rest."
Crystal nodded and went many things over in her mind.
Li had looked through most of the books that his family had on what Clow Reed could do. One of them got his attention and he spent three days working on what he needed to draw and memorize. He was just waiting for the right moment to act. When he saw that wench Crusher, who had no right to even hold Clow's father's staff, heading in the direction of the Captain's quarters he had his chance. He waited until she had gone inside and he raised his hand, chanting the words that he had spent days memorizing. When it was finally done he turned around and headed in the direction of Crusher's quarters. It was time to get the Clow Book away from that wench.
However, things didn't go the way that he planned. Not only had Crusher put a powerful charm over the door but it had burned him. Nothing that he tried, worked, so that meant that the book was being guarded. He would wait until the guard went down and then he would take it.
"Hay, Crystal," Deanna said.
Crystal was now setting up and playing chess with one of the Nurses.
"Hay, Deanna," Crystal said. 'What are you doing here?"
"I came to visit," she said. "By the way, do you know where your mother is."
"Because I can't find her, or the Captain, and the computer isn't telling me anything."
Crystal had a bad feeling about this. "Deanna, could you go to my quarters and get Kero. Take him to my father's quarters and see if he can tell what's going on."
"Councilor, she went to the Captain's quarters to talk about Crystal passing out."
"Okay, but why isn't the computer telling me this."
An hour later Deanna came back with Kero and Kero wasn't happy. He flew towards her and said, "His quarters are magically locked and warded."
"Wait a minute, why would it be locked and warded?"
"The spells that are on them have many sources but not the Enchantment's the manly feeding it."
"What kind of enchantment?"
He looked at her and said, "The one that Clow Reed created but never used. It causes uncontrolled lust in the subjects by using their own emotions against them. It gets even more nastier if it's true emotions."
"Why would he create such a thing."
"He was bored," Kero answered.
Crystal thought that had to be the dumbest excuse ever.
'And how, oh great Kero, do we break the enchantment."
"The Enchantment is self-limiting," he said. "I believe it was used to try to get the caster's hands on your cards."
"Li," Crystal snared.
"Yep, that's a pretty good guess," Kero said. "All we have to do is wait for the enchantment to end on its own."
"You mean; I can't stop it."
"Some spells can be countered but others you have to let them run their course."
"Why do I have a feeling that those two are going to be in a really bad mood," Deanna said.
"No, Councilor, I'm the one in a bad mood."
When she was finally released from sickbay she said, "Computer, the location of Doctor Crusher."
"She's in her quarters."
"Is she alone?"
"Captain Picard is with her."
"How long have they been inside?"
"Ten minutes," the computer answered.
"Oh this is going to be a lovely conversation," she said to herself.
Have you ever done something that you later on regret that you've done? It's that stone silence that makes you wonder if your embarrassment is complete or someone is just going to rub salt in the wound. That's what they looked like when Crystal entered, Kero with her.
"As I said, self-limiting."
"I don't think that makes things any better," Crystal told him. "Mom, um, are you alright?"
She said nothing and Crystal could 'feel' her humiliation. It came at her like a sharp spear and with it came Crystal's anger.
"I'm going to make Li pay for this," Crystal snarled and long lines of light started to appear around her.
"Crystal, what are you doing?" Kero asked her.
"I'm going to make him pay."
"You have to stop," Kero said. "You've just recovered from another fainting spell."
Crystal let out a scream as something black, and dark, came out of her and landed on the floor. It twisted and took on the form of a woman with long black hair, black eyes, and long claws. The lines of light turned as black as the woman. She had no face, no eyes, but Crystal could tell that she could 'see.'
"As I said, Kero, I'm going to make Li pay for this," Crystal said.
"Crystal, creating something out of your magic is a rare thing," he said. "But this thing isn't going to make things right."
"I DON'T CARE!"
The woman shot through the door and was gone.
The figure sensed the creation the moment it left the Crusher quarters. It was dark, powerful, and made of raw emotions. So the future Clow Master had unlocked one of Clow Reed's powers: creation of sentient life forms. Though she knew that the life form wouldn't remain in this world, to have a child at that age unlock one of the powers that Clow Reed had told her that the Associates had been right.
Crystal Picard was on her way to outdo Clow Reed himself. It also showed that Crystal had developed one of Clow's most famous dislikes: using magic for evil purposes. She followed it once she found it and saw that it looked too much like the Shadow Card. The woman didn't even turn to face her and she knew she wasn't the target.
"So where are you going," she asked it.
It turned out that its target was Li. Not that she blamed Crystal for that target. It broke through the door and the only thing that was heard was the sound of screams. Li had no defense against something that he hadn't read about. The figure felt the life snuff out of him and commander that was supposed to keep him in-line. The job done, the life form vanished into smoke and light. Leaving only blood and a branch from the Li family broken off.
"I must admit; Clow Reed would have been proud."
A/N: The creation of a sentient life-form was one of several abilities that Clow Reed had. And while this creation didn't remain around it did fulfill the job that Crystal wanted: the death of Li. This is also a statement, even if Crystal never intended to make it, that the Picard clan are going to be the most dominate magical family on Earth. In-fact from Li's enchantment their power, and influence, will grow and will last for thousands of years.
