Two weeks later- Post Epilogue
BELLA POV
We'd finally sent Elijah back to school with Levi although the council had approved them only going half days so that they didn't have to drop out during their senior year like Paul had.
Knowing that there were vampires nearby again made my skin itch with the need to phase and it killed me to know that my son was now dealing with it. Being a wolf was incredible, indescribable, and amazing, but it was also a huge responsibility.
I tried to reason with myself that Paul had only been 17 when he'd imprinted on me and that both him and Jared had phased when they were both 16, just like most of our pack.
After his first day back at school, Elijah came home after his half day and looked almost frantic.
"What's wrong, baby?" I asked him as soon as he walked inside.
"Uh, it's nothing mom. Where's Dad and Papa?" He asked me anxiously and I knew something was wrong.
"They're out on the back deck with your Uncle Embry." I told him. He didn't even respond, he just walked right out the sliding glass door.
JARED POV-
I knew when Elijah asked Bella where we were, there was something more going on. He came directly outside as I gave Paul a look.
"I'm gonna head out. I'll see you guys later." Embry told us before jumping over the railing and heading back down the beach.
My attention shifted back to Elijah who had just come outside and closed the sliding glass door.
"What's up, kid?" Paul asked him before taking a swig of his beer.
"Uh- I think something happened at school…" He started. Paul and I looked at each other and raised our eyebrows.
"What kind of something, Elijah?" I asked him quickly.
"Well, you know Sarah Black?" He asked, scratching at his neck.
Fuck.
"You imprinted on Black's daughter, didn't you?" Paul asked him what we were both thinking.
He looked worried. "I think so?"
"Imprinting isn't one of those things that you just 'think so', Elijah. You would know without a shadow of a doubt. Either you did or you didn't." I said to him honestly and he huffed in anger as he looked over at me.
"I did, okay! I was walking down the hallway and she was coming out of a classroom not looking and ran straight into me. When I looked down at her it was like the whole effing world just stopped spinning. I didn't know what to say so I just kinda bolted! What do I do?! She's only 16!" He was definitely freaking out.
"First of all, calm down before you phase and ruin your mom's deck furniture." I told him, motioning for him to come sit down with us.
"Here, 'Li." Paul handed him an opened beer.
"But I'm not old enough?"
"Just take it, pup. You're a wolf now, it doesn't even affect us." Paul insisted. Elijah grabbed the beer and took a sip.
"What do I do? You guys imprinted on Mom, right?" He asked us.
"Don't act like me for damn sure." Paul laughed.
"What did you do?" Elijah asked him quickly.
"I was a dick to her until your papa set me straight." He replied honestly.
"Seriously, Dad? I thought you imprinted on Mom first?" Elijah replied.
"He did by like a minute, max." I huffed. "But yeah, he was an ass about it at first. We were lucky though because your mom has always been amazing with weird stuff. That was the first day she knew about the pack and all of a sudden she was tied to not one but two of us who she didn't know at all."
"What happened after that?" He questioned.
"Your papa talked me into shape and we both talked to your mom, convinced her to stay the night with us too." Paul answered.
I laughed. "Stay the night? What are you talking about? She moved in the next day." I told Paul before looking back at Elijah. "Your mom has lived with us since day one, but she was already 18, Elijah. It's going to be different for you."
He rubbed at his eyes. "Sarah is only 16. Jake is totally going to kill me."
"Jake knows about imprints. Hell, he imprinted on Angela when he was only 16, so he has no room to judge." I tried to explain to him.
"I want to be close to her. My wolf is already freaking out about me taking off, not even talking to her. What am I supposed to do?"
"You're going to have to tell her first and foremost. I don't know what Jake has told her about the pack. After that, it's completely up to her. You'll be whatever she wants you to be." I told him truthfully, watching as he looked down in despair.
"Just do us a favor and try to wait on knocking her up? We're too young to be grandparents, especially when your mom is already preg—" I smacked Paul in the chest, knowing that he wasn't supposed to say anything about it yet.
"Mom is pregnant?!" Elijah nearly shouted.
"What, J? He's a wolf now, he's literally going to hear the heartbeat if he even hugs his mother." Paul stated.
"He's right, J. Elijah would have found out today or tomorrow anyways." I heard Bella say from the sliding glass door.
Elijah turned around to look at her.
"You're really pregnant again, Mama?" He asked her as she walked outside with us.
"Yes baby. We found out the day after you phased for the first time and we only just began to hear the heartbeat this morning." She told him, walking over to hug him.
Elijah stood and hugged Bella, pulling back with a 'whoa' when he heard it.
"Wow, that's kind of crazy." He said quietly. "I can't believe I'm going to have another brother or sister."
"It wasn't exactly planned, but then again neither were you and your sister. I'm telling you, your wolf will have a mind of his own when it comes to your imprint." I tried to explain to him.
"So Jacob and Angela are going to be our in-laws, huh?" Bella asked him as she sat down next to him.
"Mom, really? I haven't even told her yet." Elijah said with embarrassment as we all laughed.
Out of nowhere, all our ears perked up. Someone was at the door. As we listened, we knew immediately that it was Levi.
He came practically bursting out the back door looking for Elijah.
"Dude! Dude! I just imprinted!"
He stopped when he noticed we were all outside looking at him.
"Really? On who?" Elijah asked him immediately with curiosity.
"Sarah Black!"
Elijah stared at him in shock as I looked between Bella and Paul.
"I'm going to call Sam. I feel like we need to have a family chat." Bella said as she stood up and walked inside.
"Why does she need to call my dad? Did I do something wrong?" Levi asked us worriedly.
"It's because I imprinted today too." Elijah told him seriously.
"That's great, bro! On who?" Levi questioned immediately.
"Sarah Black."
"Here we go again…" Paul muttered before finishing off the rest of his beer and grabbing a new one for himself as well as one for Levi.
A/N- As you all well know, this is my favorite of all the stories I've written and after re-reading it, I felt as if my epilogue was too short. As I'm currently on my SECOND Covid quarantine in the last 8 months (after being fully vaccinated in April) I wanted to give you all a small surprise. Hope you enjoyed.
